AI CS 5 cursor freezes, unresponsive when selecting,etc...

Been having this issue for about a year. Select an "object" to move-it won't move, or it rotates on own. Need to try many times to capture and complete one simple task. Controls seem to have a mind ogf their own.COrporate seemd to be unreachable. Can someone help please? Thanks in advance.

And you are exactly talking about what...? You need to be more specific and provide system info or even what program you are actually talking about plus any additional info like what input device you actually use. this by al lmeans sounds like a twitchy tablet or a customizable multi-button mouse that has a mind of its own (or is not appropriately configured at least).

Captivate 5.5 - unresponsive when selecting variables

I'm experiencing a new problem with captivate 5.5. When selecting variables on the menu or from within advanced actions, captivate becomes unresponsive (freezes). This happens in existing and new projects. Is this an experiene anyone else has had? Is the only solution to reinstall?

When you kick off the uninstall for the ELS it will eventually bring up a menu page with all the apps in the suite shown as ticked for uninstall.
You just untick all boxes EXCEPT Captivate and this will mean that ONLY Captivate will ge the chop.

I´m working with a Power Mac G4 1.25 Mhz 1.75 Gb SDRAM. Anytime I connect a flash memory into USB port cursor freezes up. I disconect the flash drive and cursor works fine. I tried with several pen drives and it hapens the same. this starts few days ago and also I noticed that the computer shutdown when is n ot in use for a while. Any help in this matter will be apreciated.

You don't say which USB port you are plugging into. Don't plug into the side of your keyboard - the circuit gets overloaded. Plug into the port on the rear of your Mac. Besides your keyboard and mouse, what other USB devices are connected?
You may want to get a powered USB hub - has a separate power supply. Another alternative is to get a USB 2.0 PCI card.

Illustrator freezes temporarily when selecting

Every time I select something, Illustrator freezes for about 5 seconds. Pretty much the same thing happens in Photoshop when I click and hold on one of the tools to get it's submenu; this makes it almost impossible to get to a submenu tool.
It's been doing this for the whole 2 weeks I've had it installed. I've set the scratch disks to my startup SSD, my large HDD, and both; which doesn't fix the problem.
I reinstalled Mac OS X 10.6 when I got my SSD; before this it was working perfectly.

When trashing your preferences
1. Did you first quit Illustrator?
2. Did you trash the whole Adobe Settings folder or just the preference file?
3. Did you run the color sync utility to see if you have corrupt color profiles.
4. Did you repair the Permission with the disk utility
5. Did you check to see if you have corrupt fonts?

Screen freeze/unresponsive when waking

Hi guys, I'm not sure if this is a common issue or not, i've searched high and low but cannot find anyone with the same issue. Basically every few days the screen on the phone will freeze and not wake correctly. I press the power button but only the backlight comes on, i can see the screen is on but it's black. If i then press the power button again i can see the screen is off. There is no way i can escape this apart from restarting the phone. The odd thing is, when the screen is on(just a black illumiated screen) I can press and hold the power button and the power menu appears! I've tried several factory resets, clearing cache partiton and also a firmware repiar. Any pointers as to what i can do going forward? ThanksAdam

ITunes freezes and becomes unresponsive when I plug in my iPad.

I have Windows 7, and iTunes works perfectly fine, until I plug in my iPad or any device (I have a iPod touch 4 generation and iPhone 4s). The second I plug in my iPad, iTunes completely freezes and becomes unresponsive. It also becomes unresponsive when I try to go to Preferences. I have to go to task manager to force iTunes to close, but if I unplugged my iPad, iTunes becomes responsive after a couple minutes.
I have researched this problem multiple times, and it seems several others are experiencing the same problem. I have tried their suggested advice, and it did not work for me. I have tried many methods to solving the solution, but it freezes up so quickly I can't even access my iPad on iTunes to ensure that it won't sync automatically. I have also tried holding Ctrl+Shift when plugging it in because iTunes said that way it won't sync automatically. This, however, does not work. iTunes is beginning to become very frustrating. I just really need any advice that will allow me to sync my device ASAP.
I understand there must be some sort of bug in the latest version of iTunes (I also have the latest version of iOS on my iPad and iPhone), but if anyone has any advice as to how to get around this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Restart your computer and lauch the Activity Monitor application. That will show you all the programs running on your computer along with how much RAM and CPU time each application is using. Next, launch iTunes and see how many resources it is taking up. Is it hogging all the available RAM and/or CPU cycles? It could be that you don't have enough free RAM or CPU cycles. If you're running close to 100% before you get to the movies, it could be they are pushing you over the top. The Activity Monitor application can show you if that's the case. If so, then try to select Movies and see if your iTunes application starts trying to use up even more resources. If so, try a RAM upgrade and/or a faster processor. These are just suggestions, of course, but I hope they help.

Freezing in import dialog when selecting "Import Preset" FIXED IN LR3.2

I have just installed Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS5 on my Vista Ultimate 32-bit system.
When in the import dialog if i change any settings and click "Save Current Settings as Import Preset", Lightroom 3 freezes and after a minute displays the dialog to name the new Preset. After entering a new name for the Preset and clicking OK it freezes again! then eventually comes back.
I'm also getting freezes when selecting a different import drive, but that only seems to happen when using the external network drives and is possibly un-related.
I have tried running scandisk and defrag on all my drives (no change), Removing all external network drives (no change!).
My system config is as follows;
Windows Vista Ultimate 32-Bit 4GB RAM 2x 1TB SATA Hard Drives 3.1GHZ E8500 Dual-Core Intel CPU
Plenty of space free on both drives (500GB in each), Swap on D: Drive and O/S on C:
I installed by un-installing the Lightroom 2.6 copy and running the new install(in case it's relevant!)
Lightroom 2.6 was running perfectly before the upgrade.
Any ideas I can try?

No, factory presets are embedded inside Lightroom and cannot be removed.
Well, actually, they can, but this is undocumented and you'll have to do it after each update.

Now I checked the materials that I got from AT&T Yahoo and
port 25 is used as the outgoing mail port, 110 for incoming.
This is for the POP type account provided by AT&T, not necessarily for an email account and SMTP server not provided by AT&T.
Sounds like AT&T blocks using an SMTP server that is outside of their network or not provided by AT&T on Port 25.
Try the following first.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Account Information tab for your .Mac account preferences at the SMTP server selection, select the Server Settings button below for the .Mac SMTP server.
Enter 587 in place of 25 in the Server Port field and when finished, select OK to save the changed setting.
If this doesn't work, we will go to plan B.

Why does Firefox not scroll the page when selecting & the cursor reaches the bottom of the screen

When selecting text on a screen page, when the cursor reached the bottom edge of the screen Firefox (9.0.1) does not scroll. Other programs (including IE) do so, so it does not appear to be a local computer problem.
I cannot see a setting on the options page that enables/disables this so what is the solution?

Enable the Add-ons bar (Firefox > Options or View > Toolbars; Ctrl+/) or the Find bar (Ctrl+F) to make Firefox scroll the page while selecting text.

The cursor freezes when I pinch zoom using the Lenovo Thinkpad T410 trackpad while Firefox is open.

This happens only on Firefox, not other browsers. In Firefox, when the cursor freezes after a pinch zoom, the track point still works.

By default a new window should open the cursor in the search field on the page. Resetting Firefox will get you back to the default on about:support page.
