AI CS4 will not open in XP Pro

Hello,
Although all of my other Adobe programs work perfectly in XP Professional
Illustrator CS4 sends an error message saying that it is necessary to have Windows XP.
Please see the attached screenshot.
I've tried to repair the situation by reinstalling but it didn't help.
Can someone please help me with this?

Funky. Do you have all the latest service packs and updates? Did you get a warning during install? Using the CS4 Clean Utility might help, but then again it might not. It's still worth a try, though, as it will remove some data that the program possibly uses to determine its own version and operating system. What I would definitely look into is whether some security tool is suppressing something and if your Internet Explorer security zone settings are right. also try logging on with a different user name. This may just be some random mis-configuration. One last thing, that helps quite often, is t omanually initialize an update and get .NET 1.1 runtime. this replaces some system DLLs and straightens out several issues under the hood in Windows and may be just enough to get your Illu running...

Received jpg CS4 will not open

I received a jpg from a customer today that CS4 will not open but CS3 will. CS4 just hangs. I closed down the program and tried this several times. CS4 opens other jpgs just fine.
I am on a Mac Pro w/5 gig of RAM. Have experience no other problems.

Yes you probably lost a pixel or two when you saved it as a jpeg again. But, since they are sending you a jpeg in the first place I'm going to take a guess that it's just so you can preview it.
Also, this issue is not consistent. If it were true that every time someone received a jpeg it didn't open in CS4, the forums would be flooded.
Odds are it's just saved with something strange that is tripping CS4 up (like an ICC profile). It could be 3rd party add-ons. Could be preferences. If you start seeing it happen more from this particular person but not from others, then it's probably a setting applied to the jpeg on her end.

uninstall, clean (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6) and then properly install (do not migrate, use timemachine etc) using the installation files.

Yes, you need CS6. DNG Converter is just a standalone tool to convert RAW to DNG files which then may be possible to open in older versions of Adobe tools.

Illustrator CS4 will not open in XP Professional

Hello,
Although I am running Windows XP Professional AI CS4 will not open on my computer.
Photoshop and InDesign work perfectly but Illustrator seems unable to recognize the XP operating system and gives an error message accordingly.

If anyone has any ideas about how to cure this please tell me.

If I recall correctly, the issue is introduced by an incorrect install/ update of .NET runtimes (one of the newer versions, 3.5 I think). I've seen the message myself on one of my systems, but I'm not really sure how I fixed it. Reason however dictates, that manually initiating a Windows Update or downloading .NET installers from Microsoft's pages, would be one thing to try. If the solution floats to the top from the murky depths of my brain, I'll report back.

Have deleted (secure delete) and reinstalled several times. Got it to open once right after download... Usually crashes/hangs upon attempted start-up, then shows as "Application unresponsive". Must be forced to quit.
No other audio interfaces or drivers installed that I am aware of. Playback through onboard audio interfaces, sometimes routed to Apple TV via Cat 5 cable, out to receiver via fiber optic SPDIF, or to Panasonic HDTV via HDMI cable through Thunderbolt port.

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

PS CS4 will not open after carbon copying drive to new SSD on MacPro. Pop-up windows inform me that the scratch disk is not available. I would appreciate any advice on how to rectify this problem.

For future reference, where should the scratch disk reside? I heard it should not be on the boot drive?

Updated OS now my CS4 will not open.

I just updated my OS and now my Creative Suite CS4 will not open. I get a dialog box that says licensing for this product has a stopped working.

Photoshop CS4 will not open newer RAW format

I have CS4 with latest updates, Camera Raw 5.7 and my CR2 images will not open. I have a Canon EOS Rebel T3i.
I have searched for over 2 hours looking for a solution and according to what I have read I should have what I need to open these files.
When I go into Adobe Exchange to find a possible program, it takes me to a page that wants me to download the Adobe Exchange Panel. However
this is only available to CC or CS6, neither of them I have. I can't get past this page. So I guess Exchange no long exists for those of us with older programs.
I really hardly ever use this program, but since I need it to open my RAW photos.
I can't afford to upgrade this program at this time and I find it odd they cut off the Exchange area for everything else.
If someone could help me figure out how to get my photos to open in this program without having to buy yet another program that would be wonderful.
I do not use this enough to justify the cost of the upgrade. What is missing that I need? The compaitable chart says I have the correct version for my camera. I am at a loss.
I am sure somewhere someone has asked this before, but for the life of me I can't find one that is based on my criteria, that will help me with my problem.

The Canon T3i was first supported in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) 6.4

ACR 6.4 is only compatible with CS5 and later. It is not compatible with CS4 so CS4 cannot open Raw T3i files..

To open Raw files in Photoshop, your options are to update to CS6 or the Cloud.
The other option is to use the free Adobe DNG Converter to convert all Raw files from the T3i to DNGs. That adds an extra step to your workflow every time you shoot photos. Then open and edit the DNGs in CS4.

If you hardly touch Photoshop, another option may be to buy Photoshop Elements 12. Then you can open and edit Raw files from the T3i but you'll have the more limited Elements toolset. You could then export to TIFF and open the TIFFs in CS4 if necessary.

AE CS4 Will not open after Snow Leopard Upgrade

Ok, i posted this earlier but I don't think I was clear enough to get an answer. I recently did a clean install of Snow Leopard and a fresh install of my Production Studio CS4. Upon getting it all installed, I realized that After Effects will NOT open at all. It just bounces on the Dock a few times and then stops. Then after that, when you click on it, it bounces once, then stops. Every other program works great, only after effects is not working. Why is this? Is there something I need to do? I reeinstalled just the AE and downloaded the newest update, still, the same thing. I would appreciate any suggestions to get it running.

I experienced this when upgrading to Snow Leopard myself.
After Effects is one of many, many applications which require Rosetta to be installed. In Snow Leopard, Rosetta is an optional install on the disk. So just make sure you install it.
Now, the thing also is that once Rosetta is installed, the OS still seems to have AE flagged as an app which requires a missing component to launch. This was fixed after a couple of restarts, in my case.
