AI CS6 native 64 bit

They say you can now work on large files with out the past problems fingers crossed.
You can reame layers in the layers panel without the dialog poping up, that took a long time to implement!

I gave you a correct answer because this was something we all fought for and it is now something everyone can look forward to.
Large files but besides 64 bit Ibelieve in orde to do 64 bit they had to essentially rewrite illustrator as opposed simply porting it to 64 bit.
I wonder how the type engine is working becaaus e tht was knew before 64 bit.

  • InDesign CS6 + native 64-bit

    Hi,
I hope you don´t mind my bad english ...
Does anybody know if InDesign CS6 will have native 64-bit-support? In CS5.5 there are only Photoshop, After Effects and I think another one with native 64-bit-support, but not InDesign. I have CS5 (Design Premium) and there is already a native 64-bit-version of Photoshop - and so Photoshop is rather fast on my 64-bit System (Windows 7 Pro 64-bit; 8GB SSD-3 RAM). But InDesign is rather slow.    So I hope a native 64-bit-version will be much faster.
    Thanks and Greetings
    Florian

    Err.
But InDesign is rather slow.    So I hope a native 64-bit-version will be much faster.
I don't think there's good reason to believe that a 64-bit version of InDesign will actually be faster. In fact it might be slower.
64-bit programs can address much larger areas of memory. So if you work with really large files, that can be very helpful. But pointers are larger and take up more space. "I think it depends." See the two links at the end of this post for more detail.
I think you'd be better off figuring out what part of InDesign is slow for you and why, because it ought not be. Perhaps there are bugs to be discovered and filed. Or perhaps something else is deeply wrong. Perhaps the files you are working on are corrupt. In what way does the slowness manifest?
I don't think Peter is spot-on about forward-looking statement concerns.Software companies make statements about future roadmaps and plans all the time, and Adobe is no exception. Yes, there is the possibility for that interpretation, but I don't think there has been any case law of a company being pursued by the SEC for disclosing this kind of information (OK, now, prove me wrong!). We even have Adobe employees making statements like "fixed in next major release" about InDesign.I think really the reason behind the silence is less serious and more realistic: nobody wants to make predictions that are wrong and upset users, and the marketing people want to be able to disclose information in a controlled fashion, and they own that kind of disclosure.
64-bit isn't all ponies and kittens, either. Take a look at http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2011/03/getting-photoshop-cs5-to-64-bit-on-macintosh.htm l. Don't ignore the section about the extra beta testing required. If a 64-bit InDesign doesn't give me performance benefits, I think I'd rather have the limited Adobe engineers working on making InDesign work better and more reliably (and perhaps a few new features) than on make-work.
You may also find these posts about the lead-up to a 64-bit Photoshop to be useful context. They show you the weaknesses of the case for 64-bit Photoshop a few years ago (though it's gotten stronger). If there were holes in the case for Photoshop, an app that deals with really big files that are ever-growing, rest assured that the holes in InDesign's case are the kind you can drive a starship through.

  • Is there a way to open photoshop cs6 in 32-bit mode on a windows 7 64-bit system.

I was wondering if there is a way to open photoshop cs6 in 32-bit mode on a windows 7 64-bit system, because photoshop won't recognize the pen pressure on my graphics tablet (yiynova msp19u) I read that some users got it to work in 32-bit mode on macs, and all my other programs like zBrush, art rage, sketch book pro recognize the pen pressure on the tablet.

well I am going to assume that the application marked photoshop is the 32-bit application, since the other on is marked 64-bit and I don't see one 32-bit. in any case it still not recognizing pen pressure and i have the newest drivers. The only thing I can think of now is that wacom drivers are interfering with it some how since they don't get along, although I was pretty sure i got rid of all wacom software.
Sigh, it's starting to look like I have to format my computer

  • Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended 64-Bit GPU Acceleration Stopped Working

I've been using Photoshop CS6 Extended 64-bit when one day the GPU acceleration features stopped working. I closed the application and restarted it and the GPU acceleration still didn't work. I couldn't rotate the canvas or use scrubby zoom. I rebooted my system and it still wasn't working. I check my performance preferences and my graphics processor was detected with the "Use Graphics Processor" box checked. I unchecked it and rechecked but the GPU acceleration still wasn't working. I uninstalled Photoshop CS6 and reinstalled it. I got the GPU acceleration to work opening the application right after the install. I close Photoshop CS6 64-bit and reopened it and the GPU acceleration wasn't working again. I am able to use GPU acceleration features in Photoshop CS6 32-bit with no problem. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Ultimate Edition and I have a GeForce 280m GTX GPU. Would there be anyone out there who can help me with this issue. Thanks.

From what I gathered on this Forum there is a good chance that it may be related to the driver – unfortunately it could be either becasuse it’s obsolete or a bad new version.

  • Operating system. We have Premier Pro CS6 and 32-bit Windows 7. It will not install

    Dell Laptop Latitude 6420
    Windows 7 Professional
    8GB Ram
A user in Public Relations needs to use Adobe Premier Pro CS6. However when we tried to install it the program is grayed out and has a caution icon. If I hover over it there is a message that says it prefers 64-bit. Prefers does not mean will not work in my opinion. However it will not install.
I read that Premier Pro is 64-bit only on another web site. Is this true? There has to be a solution.
On the Adobe site I saw that installing CS4 Premier was the work around but you have to purchase a license key. We have already purchased Premier Pro and do not have money in the budget to purchase an older product when this one should work.
Please help. I am under a lot of pressure to resolve this
    James

Premiere Pro CS6 is 64 bit software and will only install on a 64 bit computer. There is no way around that.

  • Interworking between Lightroom 5.7 64 bit and Photoshop CS6 extended 64 bit (Raw update 8.7)

I have recently upgraded my Lightroom 5.6 to 5.7 and my Photoshop CS6 extended 64 bit to Raw Update 8.7. Since this update my Image Edit process going from Lightroom to Photoshop is no longer seamless. Right clicking on the image and selecting "edit in Adobe Photoshop CS6" eventually returns an error message "The file could not be Edited because Adobe Photoshop could not be Launched" after about 2 minutes. At this point the image opens in Photoshop

    See here for a solution.

  • When will the native 64 bit version of Adobe Acrobat come out? XII, XIII?

When will develop native 64 bit version of Adobe Acrobat? Will XII or XIII version be genuine 64 bit? Anyone knows the development progress?

    Hi Evonium,
The hope is that we get it in the upcoming Acrobat XII release, but at this point it's still not known for sure...
But as Adobe has been methodically upgrading almost all of their creative apps to native 64-bit versions in recent years, it would seem timely.

  • Is Photoshop Elements 10 available as Native 64 Bit?

I messed up the install on a Windows 7 machine of Photoshop Elements 10 by inserting Disk 1 and running through the install.  When I realized my mistake, I uninstalled from the control panel, inserted Disk 2 and reinstalled.  But I see that the install went into the "Program Files X86" directory, which is where 32 bit applications go.  Is there a 64 bit Photoshop Elements 10?  I installed Premiere Elements 10 next and it went into the native 64 bit directory "Program Files".
IF there is a 64 bit Photoshop Elements, could someone tell me how to install it?
    Thanks,
    David

Probably not. The tech specs do not list any 64bit support...

You can download the trial installer directly. Find the appropriate link below.
You must be on a trial download page to use the links, otherwise you get an error message.
For example, load the following page: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_elements&loc=us

    Hi,
It seems there is a 32 bit client and a 64 bit client.
We have a 64 bit operating system. (MS Windows 2008 SERVER).
Is it correct theses are the only2 versions of the client a 32bit client and a 64 bit client and the operating system is irrelevant.

  • Very big problem with professional Color Managed Display in PS CC and CS6 win7 64 bits

    How to reproduce this problem:
    - Photoshop CS6/CC
    - Win 7 Ultimate 64 bits English with all the updates.
    - ATI 7870 / HD 550 and early graphics cards.
    - Dell U3014, CINTIQ 21UX (in the 7870), 2 samsung 2232 in the 5500 (all on, or one at the time)
    - Spyder 3/4 Elite, Eyeone Display 2, DispCal (argyll), ColorEyes 1.60
After the calibration and profile process with everyone of this Display profling tools (lets supose that is all right), open a image with more saturated colors (with Adobe 1998 RGB color space) in CS6 or CC, and hit the "F" key to toggle screens.
You will see that the saturated colors will change (will become even more saturated) in the nest two screen modes, and color come back to the "normal" if hit F one more time.
Seems like the photoshop get rid of calibration luts in the 2 F screens modes and come back to normal when the image are in the initial screen mode.
ps: the loaders startups of each display calibration, was choosed one of the time when I restart the PC ( so, there are no multi loaders trying to put your luts at same time)
    - PS CS6 / CC and WINDOWS are totally up to date
    - The driver of display cards, are the latest AND the windows certificated
    - There are no other software installed on the PC that try to handle the display card or even diferents CMS.
    - In fact the Windows is a fresh install
    - This happen in RGB and CMYK images.
    This is very frustating..:(

Dear Lundberg, in fact I'm wrong about this happen in RGB images, only happen in CMYK (whatever CMYK)
If you have an up to date Win 7 64bit, PS CS6 or CC, and calibrate your display with any colorimeter spectrophotometer and their respective softwares. Download an image like this flowers:
    http://hdw.eweb4.com/out/663221.html
Before, be sure to set in PS, this color settings attachad :
Open this file, convert to CMYK and hit the F key to toggle between screen modes.
If you have a calibrated display with,  let me say, Eyeone and Coloreyes, and the videoLuts loader is on, when you hit the "F" key, the colors on the CMYK image, will become way more saturated/heavy/dense, so Hit the F key until the screen mode is "normal" the color come back to the normal too.
I test this behavior in 8 machines so far, and in all this machines, the change in the colors are very noticiable, to reach a point that I cant be used in color professional works.
I hope that now I could express my self good enough.
    Regards.

  • Lighting Effects options not showing up for cs6 on 32-bit windows 7.

I've seen a similar question asked many times here but nothing seems to be working.
When I go to filter -> render -> lighting effects it seems to pop up some kind of options pane for maybe a quarter second while it's thinking, but once it's done all it does is create a duplicate layer called "lighting effects". I never actually see the options.
I've updated my drivers, and I just installed cs6 today, without importing any of my old settings from before.
    Any idea what's going on?

  • Canon MG6250 - ScanGear not visible in Photoshop CS6 (32/64 bit)

Does anyone know if the scanner in Canon MG6250 is incompatible with the PS CS6? I am running both CS6 32 and 64-bit in Windows 7 64-bit.
I can't see ScanGear-driver - I only get connection with WIA, and that driver is not as exciting to work with.

You can get the CS6 Twain plug-in here: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/twain-plug-photoshop-cs4-cs5.html
I just installed it on basically the same setup as yours. I'm having good luck with it,but as Chris cautions it is buggy and for 32 bit PS only.
