AIA 3.X PIP for communications

Hi,
My current understanding is that EBS delivered as part of AIA communication PIPs are intended to be the Business services reused across enterprise. Is this understanding correct?
In the AIA 2.0.1 or 2.5 versions, the EBS were implemented using Oracle ESB. In the 11g version of the PIP the EBS is implemented on Oracle Mediator previously called as Oracle ESB.
As per Oracle strategy, Oracle Service Bus should be used as enterprise wide ESB and Mediator to be used between SOA Suite components. Given the PIPs on 11g is exposing the EBS on Mediator, can they be still called as Enterprise wide reusable services? If not should we define them again in OSB to be reused by Non-Oracle applications?
Thanks.

We are getting this exact error too, and are installing AIA 3.1 PIP on AIX 6.1 too.
Did you ever get this issue resolved?

I can't seem to get my application to work with the 10.2 client. I've heard that OO4O is not supported past 10.2 x86. First question is can someone clarify this - should I be able to use OO4O from Oracle version 10.2 on a Windows 7 x64 box? If so I need to know the specifics. My development machine is Windows XP and 10.2 works there but it's an x86 box.
    >
First you should consider marking this question ANSWERED and reposting it in the Oracle forum for OO4O and Wizards.
    OO4O and Wizards [ARCHIVE]
If you know anything at all about Oracle your knowledge should include the fact that if it isn't on the Official release notes it isn't supported.
The last release of OO4O (10.1.0.5.2) was March 2005 and these are the release notes
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/windows/downloads/relnotes-435165.html

Oracle Objects for OLE (OO4O) Release Notes
    Release 10.1.0.5.2
    March 2005
    System Requirements
Operating System: Windows NT 4.0 SP6a, Windows 2000 SP1, Windows XP, Windows 2003.
32-bit application capable of OLE scripting (e.g. Visual Basic, Excel, etc.) or supported C++ compiler (Microsoft Visual C++).
Access to an Oracle8i, Oracle9i or Oracle10g database through a local connection or a network using the Net client. Oracle Net will need to be installed when accessing the Oracle database through a network.
    Oracle 10.1.0.2.0 client.
    >
So there are two things working against you: no mention of Windows 7 (it didn't exist) and the client mentioned is 10.1.0.2.0 not 10.2.xxx
So even if you think it is working chances are it isn't working properly.
    >
Second question - what are my workarounds? I assume there is another Oracle Object I can use for basic database communications. What is that object, and what types of changes am I going to have to make to my code in order to use it?
    >
Who knows? Without knowing what functionality you are using and relying on there isn't any way to know what workarounds might be available or what changes you will need to make.

  • AIA PIPs for Flexcube

    Hi all,
Does AIA contain any existing PIPs for Flexcube? Flexcube is an oracle product for core banking which was previously held by i-flex?
    Thanks

    Hi,
from what I understand from the BIB initiative, there will be a AIA, with a PIP for Siebel CRM and/or CRM On Demand on one hand, covering Product Extensions and Webservices. And another one for FLEXCUBE UBS, Core Banking and Private Banking covering again Webservices and Product Extensions. To be announced end of this year if my information is correct.
For the existing ones have a look at:

    Hello there,
My questions are similar to this one, so I post here too.
I would like to know if AIA 2.5 could be installed on a "Oracle SOA Suite 10g
(10.1.3.5.1) for WebLogic Server (10.3.1)" or if the only certified environment
is the one described into the E2103301.pdf doc "AIA 2.5 Installation & Upgrade
    Guide" of January 2011, i.e. Oracle SOA suite 10.1.3.4 MLR#8 (+ patches ) with
    WebLogic 9.2 MP3.
Also, what about AIA 2.5 with Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g?

    Folks,
One of our client is looking for AIA PIP for CRM On demand interface along with R12.
We have never done this before, however, our understanding at the high-level is that it would require R12, FP, SOA Suite, Oracle Service Bus. Can someone point us right direction on this?
1)What are the required components for this installs?
2)Any documentations or links would be good

  • AIA comms O2C PIP 11.2:  Is creation of subscription group  supported ?

    HI AIA gurus
I am confused from documentation and source code of AIA comms O2C PIP 11.2. From documentation, it seems like Creation of Service group along with creation of services during order fulfillment. But, in the transformations for making input flistfor opcodes PCM_OP_CUST_MODIFY_CUSTOMER or PCM_OP_PURCHASE_SUBSCRIPTION_DEAL in composite      ProcessFulfillmentOrderBillingBRMCommsAddSubProces do not have Field SUBSCRIPTION_OBJ field which indicates the Subscription parent of all services.
So, it is not clear if subscription group is supported in AIA comms O2C PIP 11.2. From research i found that AIA 2.0.1 did not support subscription groups. So, i am not sure if 11.2 or 11.3 PIPS support this feature.
Please help me to know if subscription group is supported or not. If supported, please help with Product configurations we need to do in Siebel to test subscription group creation.
    Regards
    Arun

    Hi,
No, te AIAConfigurationProperties originally did not contain any section (nor Module Config or Service Config) describing AIA Session Pool Manager. how is it that the 11.2 documentation does not mention this composite as part of the "Verify Deployment" sections for both Comms AABC and O2C PIPs?
As a workaround we've currently took the composite project from $AIA_HOME/utilities/SessionPoolManager/V1/AIASessionPoolManager......, deployed it and also changed the AIAConfigurationProperties files by adding the Module config section for SessionPoolManager. That seemed to work after running the ant script for the update of the xml file and restarted the managed server.
Still curious as to why it was not deployed as part of the install.

We are getting this exact error too, and are installing AIA 3.1 PIP on AIX 6.1 too.
Did you ever get this issue resolved?

  • Steps to install AIA with Agile PIP on EBS on SOA Suite on a cluster

Would appreciate confirmation on the steps to install AIA with Agile PIP on EBS on SOA Suite on a cluster.

What versions are you working with?
If 11g, check out the following guides:
Enterprise Deployment Guide: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/core.1111/e12036/toc.htm for an best-practices approach to implementing an Enterprise Deployment
AIA Foundation Pack Installation Guide: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e17949/toc.htm
At the AIA Foundation Pack Overview on Oracle Technology Network (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/foundation-pack/overview/index.html) you can find the SOA-FP Cluster UPK which will give you a guided overview of performing a basic two-node cluster installation.
Once you have a complete SOA/FP installation on your cluster, then you can work on installing the Agile PIP.

  • AIA or  BPEL/ESB  for Integration ?

    Hi All,
I know that this question has been raised many times on this forum. :)
But still I want to know the main difference between the integration development using AIA or BPEL/ESB ?
Which one is better in which scenario and why.
Please throw some light on this.
    Cheers,
    KK Chopra

    <div class="jive-quote">
What if I am integrating two custom application where I am sure that a pre-build PIP will never be available.
    What do you suggest?
What is the value add of AIA except XSD and WSDL?<br>
    <br>
    </div>
Check out AIA Foundation Pack which can help you to build PIP between any custom applications.
Well such XSDs and WSDLs can be downloaded from OAGIS. But hold on AIA gives you more than that.
Some of the things which I can see in AIA ....
    - Just by using SOA tech stack - BPEL/ESB/XSD/WSDL one can't achieve true SOA. AIA teaches how exactly we should build integrations using these technologies to get SOA values.
It has proven reference architecture that consists of documented best practices, design patterns and template to help to accelerate your approach to SOA.
    - AIA's EBOs (XSDs) and EBSs (WSDLs) are already practiced for bunch of integrations between different applications. They are much more matured. Also AIA has best practices for extending, versioning these artifacts.
    - SOA governance tools like SOA Repository, testing integration scenarios,error-handling
    - Conceptual models of End-to-End business processes which are application independent.
    Thanks
    /Mishit

  • CANCEL_FLAG in PO Output for Communication

I'm trying to build logic into an RTF template for the "PO Output for Communication" report to handle cancelled lines. The cancel_flag can be set to "Y" at any of 3 levels - PO Header, PO Line and PO shipment. The field is called the same thing (cancel_flag) at all 3 levels.
In my rtf template, I have a row in a table to display each PO line using the for-each clause. I do not want to display lines which are cancelled (ie where CANCEL_FLAG (at line level) = 'Y'.
How do I reference the CANCEL_FLAG specifally at line level (not header, and shipment line)??
    My xml is as follows:

  • Cancel_flag in PO Output for Communication report

I'm trying to build logic into an RTF template for the "PO Output for Communication" report to handle cancelled lines. The cancel_flag can be set to "Y" at any of 3 levels - PO Header, PO Line and PO shipment. The field is called the same thing (cancel_flag) at all 3 levels but it doesn't always exist at all 3 levels. What do I call the field in my "IF" statement, so that it is looking at the correct field? Right now, if I am at the line level and I want to check the cancel_flag, if it doesn't exist, it looks at the cancel_flag at the shipment level.

  • "The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed..."

I realize my explanation of my problem is long-winded, so if you want a shortened version, here it is:
I've followed all the instructions trying nearly everything, and no matter what I do, iTunes gives me the error saying: "The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the iPod's software." My G5 iPod (60GB) works on two other computers (both without any music on them), so I assume there something wrong with my computer and not the iPod itself.
Now for the long-winded story of the last eight hours of my life...
I just got the Generation-5 iPod Video (60GB) a today and I'm having problems already. I followed the instructions and installed the iPod software and then plugged in my iPod (iTunes has been on my computer for a while now). I was expecting iTunes to open after plugging in the iPod, but my device manager only detected and installed "a new device". I manually opened iTunes and got an error saying: "The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the iPod's software."
After re-installing the iPod software and iTunes, and restarting my computer countless times, I came looking for help here. I found this page, which seemed to outline my problem exactly. My computer recognizes the iPod as a drive, but iTunes won't have anything to do with it. I have all the symptoms outlined in the heading, so I hoped to solve my problem there. I followed the instructions step-by-step, and after the final restart, I open iTunes to get the same exact error message.
I decided to determine whether there was a problem with my iPod or if it was my computer. I plugged my iPod into my uncles's powerbook, and got to the point where I can name and configure my iPod. I expected it to work flawlessly on a Mac (which it did) but there is no way for me to continue using a Mac (after tomorrow) for my iPod. This formatted the iPod for a Mac, so I went to another (different from the original) Windows computer, clean of any iTunes and iPod software, and followed the instructions exactly as they're supposed to be followed. After the installations, I plugged in my iPod, and although iTunes didn't open, I was able to format back to Windows and name my iPod (a step in the right direction). I should note that my (anti-iPod) computer is a Windows XP Pro, and the working one is Windows XP Home Edition. This was all well and good, until I remembered there was no music on this computer. So my iPod is completely working there, but there isn't anything I can do with it.
Next, I came back here and browsed around the discussion boards, hoping to find somebody with a similar problem to mine. There seems to be alot of errors concerning iTunes not recognizing the iPod, but none of the solutions I tried worked for me, including changing the drive letter. I get the "iPod Service Error" while trying to restore to factory settings through iPod updater.
Of course, I could transfer all 32GB of music from one computer to another, but the second (working) computer isn't mine and I won't have access to it in a couple months. It would be most convenient if I could get my iPod working on my own computer. Any help would be appreciated, especially from somebody who has solved this problem or know how to solve this problem.
    P.S.
Here are some other minor details that my be important, but I didn't feel they were worth including.
    - My brother has his iPod mini set up on my computer, under a different user login. He gets the same error once in a while, but re-installing iTunes always solves the problem for him. I had him try solving my problem his way, but nothing worked for him either.
    - My computer is an AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+, 512MB RAM with Windows XP Pro SP2 installed. My internal hard drive is partitioned, using the letters C, D and H (C being my system files, D used for recovery files and H for my applications and games). My E drive is used as a DVD/CD-ROM Drive, and drives F and G are reserved for virtual drives (none have been running during this entire ordeal). My external hard drive uses the letter I, and I manually set my iPod to use the letter J (I've never used 'J' for anything else before).
    - Yes, I have downloaded and installed the latest versions of iTunes and the iPod software.
    - I'm assuming there is a problem with my computer and not my iPod, since it worked on both other computers I tried. I'm hoping it's as simple as changing a registry file or cleaning out (yet another) temp directory.

Solution to "Software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed"!
I battled this same problem for about 5 hours. Going through re-installations, the "5 R's", all these discussion boards. Nothing worked.
The problem is that iPodService was repeatedly crashing after minute or so. You can verify this by hitting Ctrl-Alt-Delete and noting that iPodService is missing from the process list (sort by image name), or by right-clicking on My Computer and selecting "Manage", then going to Services and checking out the IPodService service - if it gives you the option to "Start", then it's not running.
    Here is what worked.
    1. De-install iTunes and iPod (if you have the updater installed) completely by going to Start --> Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs. Also delete the C:\Program Files\iTunes and c:\Progam Files\iPod\bin directories. (Don't worry, this doesn't affect your saved music files.)
    2. Log in as an Administrator
    3. Go into the registry (note this is dangerous - you should be careful) and remove the iPod entries that the uninstaller misses.
3.1 Go to Start menu --> Run.
    3.2 Type in "regedit".
    3.3 Go to HKEYCLASSESROOT --> IPodService.iPodManager.
There are two keys here, iPodManager and iPodManager.1. In my case, I did not have permission to view either of these. I think this is the root cause of the problem. I think the installer can't properly update these because it doesn't have permission. So you need to change the permissions:
    3.4 Right-click on IPodService.IPodManager
3.4.1 Select "Permissions..." A warning will appear saying you don't have permission, but that you can change permissions.
3.4.2 On the window that launches, click on "Advanced..."
3.4.3 Click on the "Owner" tab.
3.4.4 Select a valid account (the one you're logged in under) under "Change Owner To".
    3.4.5 Hit "OK".
3.4.6 Back on the main Permissions window, hit Add and add the same account as a valid user.
3.4.6.1 Where it says "Enter the object names to select", type in the account name, e.g. "Smith".
3.4.7 Click on the "Allow" checkboxes for "Full Control" and "Read".
    3.4.8 Hit "OK".
3.5 Repeat procedure for the "iPodManager.1" key.
3.6 Now right-click and delete both of these keys.
I think that's all that's required, but I also searched through the registry and deleted the following keys.
    4. Other keys I deleted:
    4.1 HKEYCLASSESROOT --> IPodManager.IPodManagerUI.1
4.2 HKEYLOCALMACHINE --> SOFTWARE --> Apple Computer Inc. --> iPod
I think that's all I deleted, but I'm not positive. I seached for instances of "ipod" using the Find... and Find Next functions under the Edit menu.
    5. Exit out of the registry editor.
    6. Re-install iTunes. I re-installed iTunes and reconnected the iPod, and everything worked.
I want to repeat that editing the registry can completely mess up your computer if you modify the wrong things, so only do this if you're comfortable, and be extremely careful.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • SOLUTION to "Software required for communicating with the iPod is not insta

Folks, I can not take credit for this.....you should send your checks to MarkinMadison. I've included his post in it's entirety. For me, this was the Holy Grail !!
My only comment is make sure when you are in the registry that you hit the "apply" button to change and add things.
This probably won't solve everyone's problem but it clearly solved mine (and I tried all other "solutions"), as well as Mark's.
Apple: please find out who MarkinMadison is and either cut him a big check or offer him free Ipods for life.

I have also posted the same question, earlier today. I purchased two for my children and cannot get the iPod to communicate with the computer. I have the iTunes software on my system, but during the installation process I cannot click the NEXT button, once I plug the iPod cable in. The computer does not detect it. I have tried all 6 USB 2.0 ports. I even removed the Dell Jukebox and MusicMatch programs. I am not a computer savvy person - just a mom who wants to give these to my children for Christmas. This is the first "chat" site I have even registered on. I am so very frustrated. Hopefully, this can be resolved.

Having trouble when I launch iTunes (version 11.0.2) on my Dell Laptop running Windows 7 Professional (service pack 1).  I get an error message indicating software required to communicate with iPod and mobile phones was not installed correctly.  Do you want iTunes to try to repair this for you?  I normally respond with OK and it immediately tells me "could not be repaired.  Please reinstall iTunes..."  I have done this a number of times to no avail.

I also notice Quicktime is not getting installed at all.
That one is normal nowadays (ever since the iTunes versions 10.5.x).
The software required for communicating with iPods and mobile phones was not installed correctly. Do you want iTunes to try to repair this for you?
Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • IPod Not Recognized in iTunes & "Software Required for Commun with iPod. .

Pleasse help! I have about 15 hours invested in this problem, includes 2.5 hours with Apple Technicians, and no help.
I have a new 30G Video iPod that isn't detected in iTunes, although I can see it in exlorer and listed as my G drive. The error message that appears when I start iTunes is,
"The software required for communicating wihtthe iPod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the iPod software."
I have done the "5 R's" about 8 times, and tried other things including changing the drive letter, unintalling Norton, using the msconfig to limit what was running (per the Apple site directions), removed the temp files (per the Apple site directions, "soft reboots" of the iPod (Menu and round button holds), manually running "C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe" from the RUN menu, and running regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\atl.dll (per the Apple Tech) from the RUN menu.
A few other notes, 1) in MSCONFIG, my iPod service does not seem to want to run, it shows as "stopped" 2)I had initally installed the iPodUpdater 2005-10-12, which didn't get me connected, and then later updated to 2005-11-17, which still didn't work. I have also installed from scratch from the apple site. When I try to run the Updater, my error reads "iPod Service Error". I don't even understand what this is supposed to do. Perhpas update the iPod software iteself?
When I connect to the other PC in my home, which was loaded with the same Windows CD's, iTunes fires right away and detects this iPod.
On the PC I am trying to coneect with, I have previously had a successful setup with an iPod mini, but now that doesn't work anymore either.
Apples next step is telling me to uninstall/reinstall Windows. This seems like a pretty drastic, and even more time consuming step . . . one that I'd rather not take unless it is fairly certain to resolve this problem
    ANY SUGGESTIONS????
    Thank you in advance.
