AIA on Oracle VM

Hi,
I am in the process of creating a number of VMs to implement an Applications Integration Architecture (AIA) packs. For example, I will have one Ent Linux x86 guest running say Siebel, another running Billing & Revenue Management (BRM), another EBS and a final one for SOA Suite & AIA. What's the best approach to saving these images and making them available for users to download through some menu-type application?
The user would have a list of AIA packs to choose from and if it's AIA Pack1 that integrates Siebel-SOA-Siebel it would download those images, but if they chose AIA pack2, which integrates Siebel-SOA-BRM then it would download those images etc. Is it a matter of saving these images as templates for users to download?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have seen the Oracle VM guides, but they are technically aimed at how to create templates, import/export images etc, but I was hoping to get high level information/docs that describe how best to make images available to users and how they get instantiated.
Many thanks.
Indy.

I am also thinking the same lines.
I am trying to build a lab for SOA implementation group. I would like to install EBS 11i on OEL5 and SOA suite 10.1.3.3 on another virtual server. We can add Seible, peoplesoft and JDEdwards in the future.
I want to get your openion on the connectivity between the two virtual servers and also connectivity to these servers from individual laptops.
Do we have templates for 11i and R12 Oracle E-Business suites?
Thanks!
Srini

  • Implementation Of AIA on Oracle Service Bus

    Hi all,
Anybody implemented AIA on Oracle Service Bus ?
How much time will it take to implement this compare to AIA on SOA ??

Anybody implemented AIA on Oracle Service Bus ?
We implemented AIA2.3 on OSB 10gR3 for one of the top 3 PC makers.
How much time will it take to implement this compare to AIA on SOA ??
Initial setup (customizing EOL and removing conflicts etc) will take some time and effort. Once that is done building new flows is comparatively faster than to do so on SOA Suite. Though it will also depend on the complexity of the flows, more complex flows will be easier to develop on SOA suite.
Can we refer this to client ??
It completely depends on the requirements of the client. If they have a lot of stateless and simple/medium complex services to be built, its a good idea to use OSB. If a lot of stateful and complex flows need to built it would be better to use SOA suite. Also, the features and use cases of SOA Suite and OSB are different, so you would need to do a comparative analysis and see which products features suit your needs better.
    How was the performance ??
Unfortunately because of some bad decisions during design there were certain problems faced during performance testing. Since AIA schema definitions are capable of carrying a lot of business data of an entity (a product or customer or asset for e.g.) the message sizes may become huge which causes a lot of problems. If you keep message sizes in control and any XQuery or XSLT transformations to be simple and properly tuned you should not face much problems. If you have a lot of transformations it would make sense to spend on an XML appliance as well. The same would be true for SOA suite as well, even SOA suite wont perform well if there are complex transformations on huge messages.

  • How to install AIA in Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.5.0

    Hi,
I have installed Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.5.0. It works fine . Now I want to install AIA Foundation Pack on this . How to do that ? Which AIA version I need to download ? and what are the steps that I have to follow to make AIA works on it .
    Thanks

As per the certification matrix at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/fusion-certification-100350.html --> Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.x) -->System Requirements and Supported Platforms for Oracle Fusion Middleware 11gR1 --> Download the xls file --> On sheet FMW on WLS - System you should be able to see AIA FP and SOA certified combinations.
To download the installer goto - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/foundation-pack/downloads/index.html --> Release 11gR1 (11.1.1.5.0) --> Select the platform and expand Prerequisites & Recommended Install Process.
You should be able to gather all the required information from here.
    Hope it helps!

  • AIA on Oracle SOA Suite 11g

    Hi ,
Is it possible to install AIA 2.5 Foundation pack on Oracle SOA Suite 11g.
Can you please share any oracle documentation in this regard?
    Regards,
    Sam

AIA 2.5 is only running on Oracle 10g. AIA version 3.0 wil be certified against 11g, this version is in the pipeline.

  • OSB or Oracle ESB????

    Hi all..
We know that oracle has two service bus's OSB and Oracle ESB....i heard in future releases of SOA Suite OSB gonna replace Oracle ESB..and
Oracle ESB will behave something as mediator...Can someone explan wats the oracle statergy regarding these two products in future...also
wch is best OSB or Oracle ESB...can someone throw light on this.

    Oracle ESB’s primary mission was
to provide service mediation and application integration capabilities to SOA
composite application developers. This use-case can be described as “in-line
mediation” since it is used for transformation, routing and event delivery inside of
what is logically a composite application.
Oracle Service Bus on the other
hand focused on solving the operations and scalability problems in a standalone
service bus. Here the use-cases that it focused on were those of service
virtualization, on-ramping and aggregation of external services and gateway
    functionality.
By combining the respective strengths of Oracle ESB and AquaLogic Service Bus(Now OSB)
in the Oracle SOA Suite platform, Oracle will enable all the common ESB usecases
and provide unmatched flexibility and functional capabilities.
The Mediator(OESB/ESB) is an intra-composite mediation component that is
deployed within an application. It is responsible for brokering
communications between components that make up a composite, enabling
transformation, routing, event delivery and payload validation inside the
composite. The main users of the Mediator are application developers
assembling multiple components into a composite application which can
be deployed, versioned and managed as a single deployment unit (all based
on the SCA, or Service Component Architecture, standard). This is the
component that all the Oracle Fusion Applications are leveraging, as well
as AIA – the Oracle Application Integration Architecture. Oracle ESB
seamlessly evolves into the Mediator in the 11gR1 release.
The Oracle Service Bus provides standalone service bus capabilities,
enabling separation of concerns between application developers and target
systems or services. The main users of the Oracle Service Bus are
integration developers and operations personnel. Their mission is to shield
application developers from changes in the endpoint services or systems
and to prevent those systems from being overloaded with requests from
upstream applications. In the 10g and 11g releases, the Oracle Service Bus
will also be augmented with key features from the current Oracle ESB,
such as domain-value-map, cross-references, JCA adapters and a
JDeveloper-based design-time. The Oracle Service Bus is based on
Aqualogic Service Bus, with the incorporation of some of the advanced
features from the Oracle SOA platform.

  • Oracle ESB and Mediator

    Hi,
I am evaluating many ESB products and Oracle is one of them, I have installed fusion middleware 11g and managed to configure it along with Jdeveloper requirements, but the bad news were that 11g does not support Oracle ESB yet and it supports the “Mediator” which is light version of ESB, could anyone please comment on this, is that’s right and is it ok to use Mediator instead on Oracle ESB, knowing that we need a robust heavy transactional ESB with many adapters to be supported.
    Thanks,

  • BPEL Process CurrencyExchangeList BUG or Limitation...its part of Oracle PIPs for AIA,

    Hi All,
The BPEL process CurrencyExchangeListEbizJMSProducer is a Oracle standard process (PIPs) , but still we are getting the error.
The below error in red I took from server log file.
We are getting an error in Production environment while a BPEL process producing (enqueue) a message to a JMS queue by using JMS adapter. (partener link)
We are using Orcacle 10G SOA suite with OC4J server and AIA 10G.
Please note that we are not getting this error every time,  few BPEL instances are getting this error, around 4 out of 10 instances.

I tried "minimumDelayBetweenMessages">1000</property> in the apps adapter while consume the message from Business Event Q (BPEL_Q_TAB).
But it didn’t work, there was no delay happened while picking the messages.
Please let me know if there is any fix for this issue, otherwise pls let me know is there any way to throttle the apps adapter.

    Hi Lonneke
    Thanks for responding....
You are correct in seeing that the two services are different in name.
However they are identical in function.
I created the service POSyncComp in my earlier version of JDev and deployed it to my local OC4J.
Which is launched by a PeopleSoft call using PeopleCode.
I have now rewritten this service in my new JDev and called it POSyncCompInt and deployed to home in an SOA suite implementation.
So whilst I test and before I roll the original service call out, I have both.
I have duplicated the PeopleCode and tweaked the message call, so that for testing purposes, and before I drop the current working version I have both calls in my PeopleCode event.
The original POSyncComp call still works, but the call to the 'new replacement' does not.
Hence the log shows both calls.... with slightly different names.
The strange thing is that the PeopleSoft LOG shows very similar code in the Request Message, but the response from the new call shows the HTML Form that I get if I run the second BPEL process from the SOA BPEL console.
So it looks like it is addressing the URL correctly.... but it suggests that stand alone OC4J returns a different response to the SOA suite which I am using for the new version of the BPEL process.... Is this configuration ?
It hints at the xsd file and the complex message type at entry to the BPEL process.
I can run the new process from the SOA suite BPEL Console with no problems.
I hope that clarifies your question about two different service names

  • Oracle AIA - ANT build Error - MDS files does not exist

    Hi,
I have created a typical AIA artifacts project as below
    1. Req_ABCSImpl
    2.EBS
    3.Prov_ABCSImpl
All 3 artifacts have XSD, WSDL which are stored in MDS via update intp MDS DB.
I an trying to compile the artifacts with ANT Scripts provided by Oracle OOTB (ant-sca-compile.xml).
This gives error as - the files which are referred to "oramds" location does not exist.
So can you please let me know how-to resolve this issue?
    Note:
The files exists in MDS DB
    thanks,
    Mark

In Jdeveloper Each Application has a file called adf-config.xml file whcih will details to oramds link
    under Application Resources ->Descriptors ->ADF-META-INF
    adfconfig.xml file like
    <metadata-store-usage id="mstore-usage_2">
    <metadata-store class-name="oracle.mds.persistence.stores.db.DBMetadataStore">
    <property name="jdbc-userid" value="DEV_MDS"/>
    <property value="XYX" name="jdbc-password"/>
    <property name="jdbc-url"
    value="jdbc:oracle:thin:@//localhost:1521/SID"/>
    <property name="partition-name" value="soa-infra"/>
    </metadata-store>
    </metadata-store-usage>
this file helps to determine where to find the mds?
In wsdl you might be referring to
    oramds:apps/AIAMetadata/<Foldername>/<wsdlname.wsdl>
Oramds is defined using this file adf-config.xml to determine whcih machine it should use.
During developemnt the artifacts like xsd or wsdl are moved to mds in one machine or environemnt but we try to deploy on different machine. While compiling try to check whether you connected to correct mds having those files.

  • Oracle Certification Exam for AIA

Does Oracle have any certification exam for AIA Developer & Expert like similar exam in other technical & functional stream?
If not, is Oracle is planning to lunch that in near future?

    Hi Priyadarshi,
There is no certification exam as of now. However, Oracle University offers trainings on AIA both instructor-led and self-paced online. The Foundation Pack Training is especially useful and often required for any one working with AIA. You may access them at http://education.oracle.com.
