AIF - install bootloader not updating syslinux.cfg or menu.lst

I'm making a custom install iso with archiso+aif, aif is working fine, except the install bootloader is not updating the
/mnt/boot/syslinux/syslinux.cfg
or
/mnt/boot/grub/menu.lst
as per installation, the mentioned files are missing kernel initrd etc., entries.
And unlike official archlinux iso/cd installer, aif+git (interactive) installer is not showing/asking to review the syslinux.cfg or grub's menu.lst file before installing the selected bootloader.
So, Please show me how to get grub and syslinux's configuration files to get properly updated by aif's install bootloader method in interactive procedure (aif -p interactive) thanks.

If you don't want to download the updates manually, then you need to update your Application Manager. The relevant links are here:

Lion install did not update background/screen saver images

I installed of Lion on my Macbook and it did not update the background/screen saver images with the new ones, anyone know why?

Check your Macintosh HD/Applications/ folder for a program called "Install OS X Mountain Lion" and then open this to run the installer.

Elements 13 will not update from the help menu

Hi, Just installed elements 13, updates does not work from the help menu, adobe application manager opens and the search for updates is continuous, just keeps searching.

Have you tried it on more than one date? Sometimes the site shuts down temporarily.
Have you tried from both Premiere Elements and the Elements Organizer -- or even Photoshop Elements? It's all the same updates.
Are you logged in with your Adobe ID?
What operating system are you using?

Skype for Business not updating icons on start menu - Using OCT for Lync 2013 deployment

We're currently deploying Lync 2013 to out fleet using the OCT to customize where the shortcuts are created.
What we are finding is that the Skype for Business Patch does not update these icons. It only updates the icons if they are in the default location (no OCT).
Is there a standalone Installer for Skype for Business we could apply a TRANSFORM to? Or some other method of updating all icons startmenu, taskbar etc.

Have you tried to create a new desktop shortcut ?
In addition, you can try to follow the FAQ below to rebuild the icon cache.

Aif tags are not updated by iTunes

I use iTunes as my media manager but play them in DJ software like Traktor. Recently I started using AIF files. When I import them I add new information to the 'Comment' field in iTunes. I then play them in Traktor.
The Comment ID3 tag is not being updated by iTunes, which means that other applications cannot see this data.
To replicate:
1. Import an AIF file with a Comment tag (I purchase them at beatport.com)
2. Change the Comment tag to something else
3. Reveal the file in Finder.
4. Get Info for the file or look at it using an ID3 tag editor.
5. The Comment has not been updated.
The strange thing is that after some time iTunes picks up the comment field (perhaps when the file is updated by another app?) and then changes it in iTunes. This is the worst of both worlds, because the data I put into the field gets lost!
Has anyone else seen this sort of problem?

Missing effects installed yet not updating

I opened a project that uses effects that were missing from my system and received the red screen alert. I downloaded and installed the effects and they now appear in the effects menu in FCPX, yet FCPX is still telling me the 6 effects are missing. How do you fix this so that the effects update and apply?
They should just apply once they have been installed yet they do not. One of the effects did update when I installed it but there are 6 instances that will not.
The effects are: Alex4d Mask+4, Alex4d Mask+8 and Alex4d Mask+16. See the screengrab below showing the installed effects and also the missing effects alert for those same effects.

When you add or update an effect, title, transition etc in the effects browser, FCP will sometimes not see it until you close and reopen FCP. Even if it sees the additional effect it will not apply it to an instances in the project timeline. You have to reapply it. One would think in your case where the effect was missing it would automatically add it once it appeared in the browser but perhaps not. I would relaunch FCP and see if that fixes it. If not then You will need to reapply the masks.

Fresh install CS4 not updating

I just did a fresh install of CS4 on OSX Mavericks. I know I'm supposed to check for some updates. Adobe Updater keeps telling me no updates found. What gives?

Please be aware you run the software not compatible with this version! So this can cause all kind of issues.

Client Installing, but not updating in SCCM

I have SCCM 2012 SP1. When I push out a SCCM client, to Server 2003; the client gets installed. On the 2003 Server, is shows "Configuration Manager" in Control Panel, and when I do a "Find Site" it finds
the Site just fine...
However, in SCCM it shows that the server doesn't have the client installed.
I have the correct boundary set, and BITS 2.5 installed on Server 2003.
Any reason why SCCM would say, the client isn't installed ?

This sounds a little like this machine is not correctly communicating with the MP.
Is the machine "healthy"? Patched? Firewalled?
Outbound networking from this machine, to your network (specifically where the MP resides), is otherwise ok?
Check other logs (CCM logs and general Windows logs) - I smell a rat..

Installed latest sec update and have flashing menu bar - cannot login

I also just installed the latest security update running 10.3.9 with a original 1ghz 17" powerbook.
Trying to boot afterwards I end up with a flashing menu bar and no disk icon on the desktop - obviously I can't login (set to single user)
Trying to repair permissions with a CD boot results in an "internal error" with the disk utility. Disk repair reports no problems. The program then cannot continue, and I have to hold the power button to get it to shut down.
Any ideas???

BeHance Invite Will Not Update in Creative Cloud Menu App

I have the current version of Creative Cloud, and everyday when I power up my Mac, the same BeHance Invite appears and I reject it, but it will not go away. The request is from "Semih Turk" to join his Feedback Circle. I click to reject this invite and the notification in Creative Cloud goes away, but at the next startup, Creative Cloud shows the same notification to join Semih Turk's Feedback Circle. I have rejected this invite at least 10 times, and I am really tired of seeing the same notification everyday. I have changed my Adobe Creative Cloud preferences to stop receiving these invites and have also logged directly into BeHance and rejected it - BUT IT STILL APPEARS AS A CREATIVE CLOUD NOTIFICATION AT EVERY STARTUP.
NOTE: There is no active request from this person when I log into Behance.
Is this a bug in the CC Menu app? Why won't CC successfully update BeHance when I reject this invite?
I am going to report this bug with BeHance as well. Hopefully, BeHance and Creative Cloud will work together to figure out why this invite keeps appearing in Creative Cloud at startup, and why it will not go away.

Has no one still answered this? It has been almost an entire year since this was first reported. Collaboration invitation requests also do not go away, whether accepted or rejected, and keeps popping up regardless of which of my four computers I sign into.

DWT file not updating with drop-down menu edits rom Fireworks

Aughh! I am almost done with my website, when I go back to
Fireworks and add a couple new tabs on a drop-down menu. I update
the DWT file in Dreamweaver, but one of two things happens: either
the update simply doesn't "take", or all of the <body>
section is mysteriously deleted from the DWT file. If I preview the
Fireworks template (from Fireworks), everything is as it should be,
but not when I preview in Dreamweaver. Not sure if this is a
Fireworks issue or a Dreamweaver so I've posted in both. No one in
the FIreworks forum has come up with any suggestions yet.

Syslinux.cfg menu layout options

I've been playing around with syslinux as an attempt to escape the looming complexity of grub2, and it looks pretty good, but wherever I look (google, man pages, wikis, online documention) I can't seem to find an answer to one simple question:
What do the numbers refer to in these settings relating to menu layout in syslinux.cfg?
MENU WIDTH 78
MENU MARGIN 4
MENU ROWS 5
MENU VSHIFT 10
MENU TIMEOUTROW 13
MENU TABMSGROW 11
MENU CMDLINEROW 11

I could use a trial and error experimental approach, but each change means a reboot (or is it possible to view the current syslinux set-up without rebooting?).

OK, but what does 'columns' mean here? In particular, how does a column relate to pixels or characters, and if not those then what does it relate to?
I suppose I don't know what a 'column' in the abstract means here.

Documentation for JDeveloper10g is not updated

Hi All,
I configured JDeveloper 10.1.3.1.0 to work with R12.
The issue is the document that is shipped with JDeveloper is not updated to 10g.
Menu options described in the document is different from what i get in 10g.
Can any one help me where I can find the appropriate document for 10g so that i can start working on 10g.

I took a training on OAF9i sometime back but when i tried to refresh with 10g I found mismatch in the way the document describes and the way it is actually in there. So I am not able to proceed with creating the BC4J components.

[SOLVED] Syslinux.cfg changes not taking effect

When I first switched from grub to syslinux, I discovered that my system won't boot properly without a nomodeset command in the boot line (actually I knew that; it was also in grub but I installed that 5 years ago and long since forgot). It worked great.
A few weeks later, I had some trouble with the virtual terminal after X started, and someone suggested adding vga={x} to the boot command. I did that, but as it turns out the one I picked wasn't supported by my graphics card/monitor: Whenever I boot, it says to press {enter} to choose from available modes.
I found one that worked well, and added it to syslinux.cfg, saved my work, and rebooted. It *still* complains about the previous mode and makes me choose a proper one. I have rechecked that my new value is in syslinux.cfg and rebooted countless times since then, and the new values just won't take.
Is there something else I need to do after editing syslinux.cfg? The man page and wiki page are extremely thorough on initial installation and configuration, but not so much on making later changes.

When I change label values in syslinux.cfg the new label appears, so I am 100% positive I'm editing the right file on the right partition.
However, I found the answer -- When the list of modes pops up and I key in 313, the boot console is reading that as 0x313. When I have "vga=313" in the cfg file, syslinux reads that as 313 decimal which is 0x139, an invalid mode. It just never occurred to me that the mode menu was presenting hex values... Just had to change it to vga=0x313 and all is well.
