AIM login request

When I try to become 'available' using my .mac address an AOL Instant Messenger Login window opens. I use my @mac ID and password. It will not accept my password. The comment is 'iChat was unable to login to the AOL Instant Messenger service because your screen name or password was incorrect'.
I do not have an AIM address. Do I need one? iChat was working great until a couple of days ago. Never got this AOL window before.
Roy

In 'preferences' 'account info' I show 'Account Type' 'AOL Instant Messenger'
description 'xxxxxxxx.mac.com'
AIM screen name 'xxxxxxxx.mac.com (same as description)
Password '***********'
this does not work, Maybe I am in the wrong window?

    • Users' fileserving to Win2.3k - ADmitMac for AD integration
The client is a test machine on which I build campus master NetInstall images. In my testing procedures I've come across a bizarre problem with Java in the browsers (IE, Safari, & FireFox).
We use ISA proxy server with web filtering, and users must authenticate to the proxy. On a new user's first use of any browser, the proxy username & password are requested, and the Add to Keychain checkbox is available. If the user checks the box, no further proxy login requests are made; the user's Keychain is updated with the proxy information.
On pages with Java applets, however, each and every applet will ask for a proxy login, but the login window does not offer a Add to Keychain checkbox! If a page has 15 applets on it, the user will be asked 15 times to authenticate against the proxy.
Naturally, this is a BIG problem, especially when several of the sites our teachers use in classes and labs contain many Java applets.
On the web, there is almost nothing concerning setting up Java with proxy servers, as all Apple Java from v. 1.4.2 onwards picks up proxy information from the system's network settings.
On the Apple Developer site, Tech Note QA1263 demonstrates a way of setting HTTPS proxy settings by entering text strings in the 1.3.1 and 1.4.1 Plugin Settings apps Java Runtime Parameters. The same capability exists in the J2SE 5.0 Java Preferences app, too. Unfortunately, the Java applets do not use HTTPS, so far as I can tell, so this remedy is useless.
Any clues I can pursue? Any help or fixes?

After some more research with the J2SE 5.0 Java Preferences app, I turned on the Java console, booted Safari and went to my favorite Java applet - babynamewizard. This is the output of the console log. From what I can glean, the plug-in sees the proxy server settings as it should, and reports them.
In addition, the J2SE 5.0 Java Preferences app allows you to turn off all security settings. No change in behavior.

    Hi Matt,
Unfortunately there isn't anything currently available on the proper structure of the soap request to communicate with the web services SDK.  What I would recommend doing is creating a regular web services SDK app (Or just download a sample), and then use a sniffer to look at the soap messages being sent back and forth.  You should be able to take those messages and modify them to suit your needs.

  • Login request messages

    Hi,
Something really weird just happened to me... after restoring my iPhone 4 using iCloud I started getting login request messages with the above username (hapa**** @hotmail.com)... I have no idea what is this email and I can't get rid of this... any idea?
P.S - I googled it and I saw another person with the same exact email problem but he didn't answer me
    <Email Edited by Host>

    Oh my God!
The exact same thing has been happening to me for almost an year! Itunes keep  asking me the password to this account.
How do I solve this problem?
This is an old Iphone 4S that my sister used to use but this is not her´s account. How can I find out which songs are from this hapa**** @hotmail.com account?
    Thanks!

  • Pass extra header variable in login request

    Hi all,
I would like to know if it is possible to pass an extra header variable in the login request when doing Single Sign-on.
We have a few applications which use request header variable for login, but this variable name is different from the standard variable name.
Do I need to write a login module which just passes the userId using this new variable name, or is there a simpler/smarter solution?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance,
    Robin van het Hof

    Try this:
    For 2004s/7.0:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b00a87e5-0601-0010-87a7-9c0456cf8436

    for nw2004:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/61/f8bc3d52f39d33e10000000a11405a/frameset.htm
Not sure if it'll help, but there is an area in the above docs that talks about customizing login modules, and you can get at passed parameters in the login module.
    Good luck!

  • How can I prevent iCloud login requests?

On OS X 10.10.1, on every login I get two requests to login to iCloud. See the screen cap (email address obscured):
How can I prevent iCloud login requests appearing?
Is it a bug? I'm not an iCloud user. It's annoying and slows down the boot process.

It's a really bad idea to post your email address, even in an image - it's an invitation to spam - and I've asked the Hosts to remove it.

  • GRC AC 10.1 - End User Login - Request issue

    Hi experts!
Im working in GRC AC 10.1 SP07. I have configured END USER LOGIN services; the idea is that end user from ECC system could submit request without having user in GRC box, this is working fine but i´m experimenting next problem.
When i go to search request, those request submited by end user appears like created by Z_END_USER, this is the user in GRC that i have configured in services GRAC_UIBB_END_USER_LOGIN and GRAC_OIF_REQUEST_SUBMISSION_EU.
¿Is possible to configure that request appears "Created By" the requester and not the service´s user? I don´t think so, but if not, ¿is there any way to add the column User ID in Result screen? because it is avaible in parameters search but im not being able to add this in result screen (it´s not like hidden neither).
Parameters "Created by user ID" would be service´s user and "User ID" would be the requester.
    Thanks!
    Emiliano

    Hi Emiliano,
Your understanding is correct, request created by UserID will always show GUEST UserID configured in the End User Logon service.
In search requests there is option to search requests by UserID but the same field has not been enabled to be available in Search Request result screen. This is as per standard functionality. You can check with SAP or can work with ABAPer to make the UserID column as display field in Search Request results.
    Regards,
    Madhu.

  • AIM login problem on Macbook Pro

    hi all,
i can't logon to aim with iChat (or Adium).
it doesn't seem to come from my network since i can logon to AIM on WinXP (using Trillian).
also, i tried to connect using my .mac account, and it seems that .mac is using the aim network?? (login.oscar.aol.com server)
    this is really weird.
    any hints?

    Hi vvlinnzz,
How is your moemd set up to handle two computers ?
Are you using UPnP or Port Triggering that will allow multiple computers to use the same ports ?
Port Forwarding will generally point incoming data to one IP address only.
AS AIM and iChat both log on to AIM on port 5190 you may have problems with Port Forwarding.
In addition go to iChat > Preferences > Accounts
Select the account you are trying to Log on with
Go to the Account Info tab.
Whilst it is logged out of AIM select the third Check box (Allow Multiple Logins)
This will allow both computers or two different apps on the Mac to log in to AIM with the same Screen name.
If the account names are different and the @mac password is over 16 cahracters you will have problems.
Make the @mac password shorter (AIM only allows 16 .mac allows more)

  • IChat and AOL/AIM Login Information

When I log into iChat it brings up the bonjour list. Then when I change the option to my email address it prompts me to log into an AOL Instant Messenger account. When I type in my Apple ID and password it says my login ID or password is incorrect. I don't have an AOL account or login so I'm not sure what I should be putting in there. I have used my iChat before with no problem. Even though it has been over a year since I've last used it, it never asked for this type of information before.

    Hi,
iChat was originally an AIM client  (Joined the AIM service)
You could use an AIM name or at that time an Apple @mac.com name.
    Later MobileMe issued @Me.com names
These stopped on the 30th June 2012.
iCloud issued @Me.com have somewhat replaces MobileMe but you have to register.
This may mean you have an iCloud issued Apple ID which you are using in iChat 5 or earlier - And it will not work.
It may be that you have set up a new password with more than 16 characters (AIM Server Limit)

  • Aim login issue

When I start iChat, it is fine. After a minute it freaks out, logs out, and trries to log in again so quick, that it gives me this message "you have attempted to login too often in too short a time. Wait a few minutes and try again" When I try again about half an hour later it does the same thing. I had been working before (has been fine for the past year), and just started.
It happens on my intel and my g3. It doesn't happen in Adium, and I would use that, but i prefer iChat.

Start with going to iChat > Preferences > Accounts > Security and checking all your Buddies have not been Added to the Block List.
Next delete com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist and restart iChat.
This file is in /Users/(your account)/Library/Preferences

  • Aim Login limit exceded error

    Hi everyone,
I just got a mac about 2 weeks ago, and iChat used to work fine everywhere. However, as of yesterday, when i use iChat in my apartment it repeatedly logs in and disconnects. For those of you that use AIM, you know that when the password is wrong and you try to log in too many times in short succession, it prevents you from logging in for a few minutes.
Now, normally i would say ok the password has to be wrong, but it is automatically put in, and when i use it in class on the school's wireless network everything works fine.
I have recently disabled the auto login function so i can try it one at a time instead of having it rapid login. However it still doesnt work.
    Specs are as follows:
    MacBook Pro
    Mac OS X 10.5.2
Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
If i missed any information that needs to be cleared up let me know and i will try to update it.
    Thank you all so much,
    ~Peter

  • AIM login

I have just started to try and use iChat and I am having a problem logging in via AIM. When I first set up iChat I accidently entered my AIM screen name wrong. When I discovered the problem I first tried to change it using iChat:Preferences but it kept reverting back. I then tried deleting my AIM keychain access which had been created and deleted the com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist file. I set up iChat again using the correct screen name, however whenever I try to login it continues to use the old (incorrect) screen name.
    Can anyone help? Thank you.

    HI Gretchen,
Welcome to the Apple Discussion Pages.
    Open iChat
Log out of AIM (if you are logged in)
Go to the iChat menu > Preferences > Accounts
Clear the tow text entry fields with a highlight and delete
Type in the new (correct) account Name and Password AND HIT ENTER
    Log in to AIM
Return to the Accounts Section and use the Arrow in the fisrt text field to open the list.
    Use the Clear option.
Re-enter your correct details if required.
    Ralph
