AIM on Palm Pixi with Sprint.

Okay.
This started two or three days ago.
Whenever I open my messaging application to go on IM, it signs in fine [although, yesterday when I had two-three bars, I kept losing connection to spring completely, not just service].
All of my buddies, minus one person [the only person I talk to] loads. They all have that little circle next to their name, minus that one person. Now if I go to conversations, [sometimes it will freeze when I press that tab, then I have to close the messaging application, but it will not reopen unless I restart my phone] there is a green dot next to a conversation I had with him earlier, so I go to that conversation, switch to AIM, and type something, send it, but it does not send, and then the messaging app freezes again, and I'm stuck with not using it again until I restart my phone.
Why is this happening, and how do I fix it?
I have gone through 5 of the 6 steps to get it to work again, and I am just about to start the sixth step, unless you guys can tell me another way to solve this problem.

Hello!
For email open the email app then tap on email on top-left, select preferences, then tap on you email account in accounts. Look for the New message box there and change the alert option there from system to ringtone. Then You can select a sound from you ringtone list.
For facebook, currently the facebook app does not support the means of making a sound when updates come. If your talking about the contacts, then in the contacts app open the contact and hit edit to get the option to set a ringtone for it.

Palm Pixi Sprint sync with Outlook-Windows 7 64 bit

I have a new Palm Pixi (use to have a Palm 850 which sync Outlook great.
Is there any App that work synchronizing Outlook, I haven't found anything. Help!!!

Palm Pixi Sprint...

Not sure if this is in the correct forum so please move if needed.
I'm looking at purchasing a Palm Pixi Sprint but live in the UK. The seller mentioned something about being able to flash a custom rom onto the device, allowing it to work on any UK network. Could someone please confirm wether this is possible or not, obviously I don't want to go through with the purchase if, when it gets to the UK, I've got no way of using it!

Just an FYI, this is not a "live chat", but a Forum comprised of other users like yourself, volunteer Moderators, and the occasional Palm CSR. Many times, when you post a question and don't received an immediate reply it's because:
1. Your question hasn't been read yet by anyone.
2. It has been read, but no one knows the answer to your question!
In my case, I fall into the #2 position. I can only say "Caveat Emptor" due to what you're trying to do is not supported by Palm Inc., and I doubt your phone be warranteed should something go wrong with it!

MAC OS 01.4.11 WITH SPRINT CENTRO PALM SYS. TRYING TO CONVERT CONTACTS TO PALM 800W? NOT POSSIBLE?

THERE ARE 4 PROBLEMS TRYING TO CONVERT FROM PALM CENTRO DATA TO PALM 800W:
1.MAC needs third party software to convert to ms,(if you have windows computer you still have the MS ongoing problems),
2.PALM PDA CELL PHONES,(no vision for the future)
3.NEW 800W WINDOWS MOBILE CELL PHONES.(usual monumental updates $$$)
4.SPRINT(lacks the technical support).
CAN'T TRANSFER 565 CONTACTS FROM CENTRO(palm system) TO PALM 800W(windows mobile system). WINDOWS SUCKS. WON'T ALLOW TRANSFER OF MORE THAN ONE CONTACT TRANSFER AT A TIME VIA BLUETOOTH(the only way to transfer data). THAN IF YOU DON'T HAVE A WINDOWS BASED COMPUTER, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SYNC DATA.
ON ONE AT SPRINT CAN HELP. YOU WOULD THINK IF SPRINT OFFERS THE PALM PHONES AS UPGRADES, THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO PROVIDE PALM CUSTOMERS INFORMATION ON HOW TO TRANSFER DATA TO WINDOWS MOBILE DEVICES. THIS IS A PRIME EXAMPLE OF MICROSOFT CONTROLLING THE WORLD OF TECHNOLOGY AND SPRINT AND PALM OBVIOUSLY THEIR SLAVES.
YOU'D THINK PALM WOULD BE PROUD ENOUGH WITH THEIR "AWARD WINNING OPERATING SYSTEM FOR PDA'S" AND NO DOUBT BEST, STABLE SOFTWARE FOR CELL PHONES, TO HAVE ENOUGH PRIDE TO MAKE A NEW PALM CELL PHONE THAT WOULD BE COMPATIBLE WITH THE SPRINT NAVIGATION SYSTEM... TRY AT&T WITH THE IPHONE. MAYBE IT WILL TRANSFER DATA, SYNC WITH MAC AND BE AN ASSET NOT A MAJOR PROBLEM.
THE OTHER OPTION IS TO TRY THE "BLACKBERRY'S". UNLIKE PALM, THEY HAVE STAYED UP WITH TECHNOLOGY AND HAVE NEW PHONES OFFERED BY SPRINT THAT ARE COMPATIBLE WITH "SPRINT NAV" AND CAN TRANSFER OLD PALM FILES.

Respectfully, I can understand your frustration but no windows mobile based device is supported to sync to a Mac. Certainly this is frustrating but I would suggest research in the future if you require certain features in a product.

Palm Pixi (Sprint) Problems

I tried to get on Live Chat but it seems to be down. I will try to be both brief and detailed.
I got a Pixi just over a week ago. From the word go it seemed really sluggish. When I tap an app, the lighted icon sits there for at least 3 seconds and then the app delays further to load. If I have 2 apps loaded it gets almost unresponsive. I restored the Pixi with webOS Doctor and the problem is still persisting.
Does this sound like a hardware problem? Is there something else I can do to isolate whether it is S/W or H/W?

Good luck. When you try to take them back, they will only replace them with a refurbished phone. I had my Palm Pixi two and a half weeks when the skin started peeling around the face. The store told me they could replace it but the one they got in (two weeks and a half weeks later) was peeling completely around the phone. The next one they got in looked good but I have to put it on speakerphone to hear the other person. They are sending another phone, supposedly to arrive tomorrow...but it will be another refurbished phone...wonder what will be broken on it????

I have a Palm Pre with the Sprint Network

I have a Palm Pre with the sprint network and I couldn't or can't find my previous Palm Pre Account in the Palm network. My question How can I recover my original Palm account> I would figure I could just do it with my phone number but this doesnt seem to be the case. I have a replacement Palm coming tuesday and I was told I had to access my Palm account in order for them to save my information. How can I recover my account?

Details of problem: Call volume is so quiet you can't hear anything on bluetooth HFL (Hands Free Link)

Yesterday morning the built-in bluetooth on my car was working fine, then at lunch when I tried to use it it was impossible to hear the call. I checked the phone and the volume is turned up all the way, and the bluetooth HFL is working fine with my husband's phone, so the issue has to be with my Palm Pixi. I can hear the HFL commands and prompts without issue at a normal volume level (8-10) but to hear even a whisper of a conversation or even a ringtone I have to turn the volume up to about 40.
I've tried to search on my Pixi to see if there are any settings I can adjust or update, but haven't been able to find anything.
Anyone have suggestions about how to correct/address this issue?

You have to go through the entire pairing process or can you just turn off Bluetooth and then turn it back on again, or go into the phone and select the car and they connect? If you are having to go through the pairing process again, it could be a problem with the vehicle. The iPhone uses the latest Bluetooth stack and it may be a problem with pairing with the vehicle system. Try contacting Honda/Acura and see if there are any firmware updates for the systems in the vehicle.

Palm Pre for Sprint Data Back Up Problem

I am having issues with data back up with my Palm Pre for Sprint - Palm webOS 1.4.1.1
I have the setting set so "On" so the data is set to back up automatically to my Palm Profile every day, however it has not backed up automatically since June 5th. I just noticed this today (June 17th), and I have tried today to manually back up the data by choosing "Back Up Data Now" button, but the screen just gets hung up indefinitely with a note saying "Preparing" without ever backing the data up.
On a related note, between June 6th & June 10th I took a trip to Canada where my phone was International Roaming - so I can understand why it might not back under those circumstances - but I returned to the US on June 10th and it has not backed up automatically since and it does not appear that it is able to back up manually either.
Has anyone had a similar issue or know what I might do to remedy this?

Connection between Palm Pixie Plus and Photosmart "wireless" printer.

I've had the palm Pixie Plus from Verizon...I was having no problems connecting to my laptops(2) and my Hewlett-Packerd Photosmart printer..until Palm Pixie Plus went into an update and now the printer does not communcate with the 2 laptops making it useless to us as a wireless. Neither Palm Pixie nor H/P printer can find a solution.
We've been on the phone with techs now for 4 days and countless cell phone minutes. Neither wants to accept blame. We've tried just about EVERYTHING.

Is the Palm Pixie phone capable of connecting to the internet and watching website video Movie/Television Show video selections (or must I purchase the Palm Pixie Plus or greater models, to do so)? For example, connecting to:

Palm Pixi Hangs

I just got my Pixi and it has hung once per day every day now. This is similar to the Pre hangs I've read where you have to pop the battery (or it seems there may be a key combo I can use to reboot--I'll try on next hang), which makes me think it's software. If this phone didn't hang constantly I would love it, but if this is the quality of webOS, I have to return the device. Am I missing something?

Ok, it hung again today. I was doing nothing with the phone (it was in my pocket and hung sometime between 11:30 am and 12:10 pm), the last thing I did with my phone before 11:30 am was just press the power button to check the time (didn't unlock). I did, however, manage to reboot it without pulling the battery (pressing the power button and flipping the ringer silence switch worked). That is at least a good thing. Here is my hang history to the best of my knowledge:
1) hung overnight on 12/4, phone was charging and not in use, i dont remember the last thing i did with it, black screen
2) hung midday while i was using the phone on 12/5, hung with whatever app was on screen, i can't remember
3) hung sometime in the day on 12/6, device was not in use, black screen
4) hung today (12/9), device was not in use, black screen, battery was at 35%

Palm Pixi Updates in 1xRTT Areas

I am trying to find a way to update the Palm Pixi in 1xRTT areas. My market does not have 3G and the nearest 3G market is 5 hours away. The local technician told me there is a software updater on the Palm Website but I cannot find anything here to help. I have several of these phones prompting us to update them and no way to update! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lost the Touchscreen Features on Palm Pixi

Good HP Support colleagues,
I have lost the Touch screen capability on my Palm Pixi device. I have tried to reset back to factory settings as advised through this forum and am now presented with Just Restart or Erase All Data and I am unable to get past this screen given the inability to touchscreen either command. Is it a case that my device is doomed? Welcome a response to confirm or deny and what the next course of action is? thanks in advance

Try pressing the following keys at the same time:
Opt - Sym - R
This should initiate a restart.
Another way to restart is pressing and holding the Power button, then slide the ringer switch back and forth 3 times.

ETF on Palm Pixi

Hello, first of all I would like to apologize if this question has been asked before, though I haven't been able to find anything on this in the search,
I own a Palm Pixi. I am wanting to end my contract early to go on another persons contract (Keep in mind that I am on a Family Share Plan, but not the primary), and was wondering how much the ETF would be to opt out early. I got the phone back in July when it was free with a new two year contract. I saw two different prices, the $175, and the $350 so I just need to know which I am under.

If the account you're joining is NOT a VzW account (read: changing carriers), your ETF would be $350 minus $10 for each month of service since you got your Pixi. You'll be billed through the remainder of your current bill cycle (it WILL NOT prorate your final month of service, you're paying for the whole thing)
If the account you're joining is another VzW account, you don't have to pay any ETF, just call customer service, ask them to authorize an Assumption of Liability to grant permission for the other person to take over your line. Once you've done that, have them call 1(888)832-4540 to complete the AoL. There's no charge for this, the new account owner inherits your existing number, device, contract, and upgrade date, and your account stops paying for the line the day it transfers, whereas their account starts paying for the line the same day (it prorates).
