AIOS command to show neighboring networks

Is there are command to show you all the neighboring networks in the area that the AP can see? Like the list you would get on a laptop when you fire up inSSIDer. I am trying to get bridges up in the field and I am blind as to what these APs can see.

There isn't a way to see rogue AP's from autonomous AP's or bridges. If you had a CleanAir AP then you would be able to see the other AP's (rogue) out there.

Hi there,
Is there a Solaris command to show all the network interfaces in a server
(plumb/unplumb etc...).
I have a V880 that has an eri0 on board, plumbed up. It also has a couple
of ge0, ge1, and ce0, and a qfe card.
ifconfig -a only shows eri0.
(I am using something like "dladm show-link", but this is really for
the link-aggregation).
How do I show the remaining network interfaces?

You can see all installed interfaces by running 'grep network /etc/path_to_inst'. An example:

How do I get rid of my neighbors network from interfering with mine

I live in a duplex and suddenly I am picking up my neighbors network as a possible network to use. How can I eliminate his network from showing up? It's slowing my network down. There is a locked lock next to his name in network preferences.

If you are using Comcast as your ISP, you do know you share your neighborhood bandwidth with all your neighbors. Many cable based broadband customers have discovered the joys of using the internet when school is let out for the day and kids start downloading files, using YouTube, and other high bandwidth applications.
This would have nothing to do with your WiFi connection. Comcast Triple Play does not in and of itself affect your WiFi.
Based on your iStumbler info, I do not think you need to change your channel. However, if you were going to try changing it, then you connect to your WiFi base station. If this is an Apple Airport Extreme, then you would use Applications -> Utilities -> Airport Utility.
If your WiFi base station is another model, then most likely you would use your web browser (Safari) and connect to <http://192.168.1.1>, enter the WiFi base station's administrator username and password. The best way to find out is to Google using your WiFi base station's make and model, and you will most likely come up with lots of information about how to gain access, and change its channel.
Another test you can do, it connect directly via an ethernet cable and use <http://www.dslreports.com/stest> to measure your broadband performance. And repeat the test using your Mac via WiFi.

Knetwork doesn't show the networks available

I can see the all available networks around here by using the command iwlist wlan0 scan, but i'd like to use some gui networkmanager to make the configuration easier.
I've installed knetworkmanager and networkmanager, when i press on knetworkmanager on system tray, it doens't show any network, am i missing something? what am i doing wrong ? what are the steps to get it work?

For KNetworkManager, you have to open the applet and then select "Create network connection" under your WLAN interface. Then you'll get a dialog that lists available networks, or you can connect to a hidden one from there, too.

IPad 2 (5.1.1.) not showing WiFi networks.

I have been looking for a while trying to find a solution to this question, but so far I can't find anyone else with this issue and the a**h**** at Best Buy refuse to believe there is a problem.
Anyway the issue is that I have an iPad 2 running iOS 5.1.1. and it doesn't show any networks available. At first I thought it was the router but every other device in our house is working fine. So I checked to see if maybe it was just the connection so I sat next to the router with it (to make sure it was not interference) and nothing, I also checked to see if the neighbors WiFi (usually on even low range devices I can see about 5-7 other people around us) would show up and still nothing. I took it into Best Buy and it worked immediately on their connection but when I got home it stopped working again.
I did a full wipe and reinstall of the software on the iPad, tried running a diagnostic on the router (which turned up nothing), made sure the router is broadcasting at the frequency that Apple recommends, uninstalled all the software that has been installed since it started having issues, and it is getting just a little bit frustrating.
If anyone has any suggestions that don't involve chucking it off the roof I would very much appreciate it.

I also have the exact same problem. Has become worst and worst. A month ago or so I would not be able to see any wifi, and then after a few hours the ipad2 would see the wifi network again. Have been struggling for 5 days now and it still can't see any network. I have Ipad2 with v5.1 on (Also did it on the previous 4.2??)

The time of a device can be manually set or set with the use of the NTP protocol clocking off a master timing device. In your case you may need to manually set it with the command CLOCK SET command. From there you can set the date/time of the AS5300. If your network devices are all timing off one source then you may want to set your AS5300 to time off the same source. Use the NTP command to set up your parameters. You can go to the following URL for help on the subject...

Router keeps showing 2 networks

wrt54g2 set up as "router", with IP == dsl´s ip, keeps showing 2 networks:
One is my custom network.
The other, one named "linksys", which is unsecured, open, has no password and can connet to the internet.
I need to remove the second.

Unplug your router and see if you still see the linksys network. It may very well be your neighbors.

C7280 AIO won't print over network. Was working on WiFi, still works on USB.

My AIO quit printing over the network after 2 years of service. The USB port still prints OK. My Linksys utility still sees the printer, and I even get ink levels back, but print jobs are hung up in the queue with status 'Error - Printing'. I tried a wired ethernet connection and got the same result, so it's not a wireless problem, but rather networking in general. The network report indicates everything is normal, but I still can't print. I re-installed the driver but that didn't work.
I am running Vista, and the printer had been working fine till two weeks ago. My wife would use the USB port to print, and she said she got updates for the printer. HP doesn't distribute f/w updates for the printers themselves, does it? It's as if the networking f/w in the printer got hammered.

I'm connected with Ethernet port. I have disabled the firewall. The IP address matches on the printer's network status report, and on the Printer dialog box on the computer. I can see that the printer is connected when I run a Linksys utility. I can get the ink levels and I can print an alignment page.
But I can't print a document. About 60 seconds after I initiate the print job, the status changes from 'Printing' to Error - Printing'.
I clearly have connectivity, but something is preventing me from sending a document. Any ideas to try, or tests to run?
I think the same behavior occurs in wireless mode, but I think I have a better chance with a wired connection right now. As I said, USB works OK.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

If you are having issues with your iPhone such as you describe, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device

The dialog you show there looks like it may be a CS6 open dialog running on windows 8.1 that is showing what is local. Network is not highlighted selected.

Apple TV 3 won't show any networks

I have a Apple TV 3 and a IMAC and a Macbook pro and a Apple wireless router…I can connect using my iPhone,iPad and all the computers with no issues but the AT3 will not stay connected, it will either be connected and work for 5-20 mins and stream just fine and then lose connection and then I go to network and Wi-FI and it will not show any networks at all. I've done all the steps as far as a reset of the AT3 and a restart of the AT3 also a restart of the apple router along with the cable modem. It worked perfectly fine with no issues on 28th of August 2014 and I went away for the weekend and came home to a non working device. I'm losing faith in my AP3 I may have to change to a amazon fire box instead. I hope it's something simple, I haven't updated anything and everything is up to date my airport utility and my apple tv 3.
