AIR 1.5 (Partially) Broken on OS X?

When installing the runtime for 1.5, I get strange behavior:
the agreement step has no legalese in it. See

If I click around on this dialog, eventually it crashes with
an "Adobe AIR Installer quit unexpectedly" generic OS X message.
Not sure what else I can provide to help diagnose this.
I've downloaded the installer multiple times, have
uninstalled previous versions and have no luck.
Also of note: If I click continue, the installer finishes,
but one of the few AIR apps I run (Spaz) fails to start correctly.
Another app, Snackr, which is Flex-based, works fine.
Is there some way to obtain an older runtime now? I can't
find a link.

Mid-2012 MacBook Air WiFi Reconnect-Partial Solution

The MacBook Air seems to have some significant WiFi issues for a lot of users. My issue is as follows: the MacBook will connect to any compatible WiFi hot-spot with no problems, and it will maintain the connection almost always. The problems come when I try to reconnect to the internet over the same WiFi hot-spot after waking up the MacBook. Even more frustratingly, the problem is not consistent. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. After some investigation, I have come to the conclusion that reconnection problems happen when:
You wake the computer up from computer sleep (not display sleep or Power Nap)
You are using a specific cable modem (the one I tested on was a Motorola SURFboard SBG6580 DOCSIS 3.0)
You have not restarted your cable modem while your MacBook was asleep
The MacBook Air will connect to the WiFi network (i.e., it can access other devices in the wireless LAN) when woken from computer sleep; it just will not connect to the internet
The only way to get the connection back is to restart the cable modem. Restarting the MacBook, restarting your WiFi base station (in my case a brand new AirPort Time Capsule tower), having the MacBook forget the WiFi network and then reconnect--all do not work. But if I just restart the cable modem, the MacBook connects with no problems. This is a problem specific to the MacBook Air because none of my other devices ever have a problem connecting to the network after waking up from sleep (including a Lenovo ThinkPad E530c). As has been proposed in some of the many discussions about MacBook Air WiFi issues, I think it has to do with the bleeding-edge power saving modes that the MacBook Air enters in to when it goes to sleep. Apparently, the computer sleep mode will cause it to not be able to reconnect to the internet, so it seems to be some sort of incompatibility or bug between the MacBook Air and the cable modem--in my case, the Motorola SURFboard.
So that's the problem, but I do have a partial solution while the engineers figure out a fix. Set the System Prefs > Energy Saver setting on the MacBook to never go into computer sleep (I set it only for Power Adapter, not Battery). In my case, this is a workable solution because I have my MacBook Air plugged in at home almost all the time. I have lived with these settings for a couple of days now and whenever I wake up my computer, it still has the internet connection and works as expected. And if for some reason I don't plug it in and it goes into computer sleep, I don't waste time troubleshooting. I just restart the cable modem and after a minute or so, the internet connection is re-established. I'd be curious to know how many cable modems this happens with, and if anyone has a fix having to do with cable modem settings (the Motorola SURFboard, to my knowledge, doesn't have a web app interface to tweak settings, perhaps because my cable company doesn't want me tweaking things, but I frankly have not spent any time researching that end of things).
Hopefully this will help some MacBook Air owners (is this an issue with MacBook Pros?) that have this problem.

Installing Air 3.7 has broken mx library

I am on mac, Flash Builder 4.6
I have downloaded the AIR 3.7 sdk. made a copy of my flex sdk then placed the sdk tbz file in there
I then ran these two commands
cd /Applications/Adobe\ Flash\ Builder\ 4.6/sdks/flex_sdk_4.6
tar jxvf AIRSDK_Compiler.tbz2
Now when I try to change the SDK in Flash builder, i get errors where basic mx classes can't be found, like Canvas and Button. Those are imported in AS files and not used in MXML files.
Did I do something wrong in installing the SDK? I've been taking these steps since Air 3. I even tried downloading the flex SDK to start with a clean copy and still the same errors.

There are two versions of AIR 3.7 one that is compatable with Flex and Apache Flex the other is not. Make sure you download the correct one for Flex which is the smaller link under the big download page here:

Download Assistant is partially broken

Greetings everyone,
I'm trying to load the latest CS Trial, but the Download Assistant is making some trouble.
I'm able to start the download, but the progress bar isn't doing anything even after 20 minutes. The Network monitor though shows activity.
But i cannot either pause the download, or quit the app properly (I have to force quit it everytime).
I'm on OS X 10.8.2 and have the latest version of AIR.

Is audio fade partially broken in the latest upgrade to 1.2.1 ?

It seems like in V 1.2.1 audio only fades out correctly at the end of a video when BOTH "fade in from black" AND "fade out from black" are ON. It is better than before (no fade at all) but I don't always want the "fade in from black". Is there a trick I am missing to control each feature independently ?

AirPort partially broken after system crash

Hi, before my system crash which caused me to force reboot it. My Internet Sharing from my Ethernet-to-computer-using-AirPort worked fine.
Now. the Internet Sharing doesn't work because:
No "Arrow Up" icon on top my AirPort icon on menu bar, I tried to uncheck then check "Internet Sharing" in Sharing preference pane but it still doesn't show up.
"AirPort" network not showing up under the menu of Stat menu. Normally there's when AirPort was turned on.
However the AirPort menu could detect secured wireless network from my neighbor.
Here is the screenshot of my Network, I don't know what does yellow light next to AirPort indicated or if it's normal? I repaired permission and it doesn't help.

Obviously it's a bug.
Previously I was using Chinese as the system language.
After I switch back to English, the Internet Sharing can't understand the Chinese text（亿太网:Ethernet) that were remain selected in the Internet Sharing preference. I have to reselect it to make things work.

PC Suite partially broken after migrating content ...

I have replaced my old E65 with a new one, as the old one has some problems. I did the backup and restored it on the new phone.
Synchronization works fine, but other functions, including messaging and backup/restore, are not working well.
The communications centre for instance, restored messages up to a certain date, and now is unable to load messages, as well as sending new ones from the PC (when I try the Communication Centre application hangs and I have to kill it). Backup/restore says it cannot open the communication channel with the phone (even if it is connected, with green PC Suite icon, by USB cable).
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

It says it can't connect with the phone, while the phone icon in the tray is green...
One more thing: if I connect again the old phone, PC suite works perfectly. Does anybody know how to uninstall PC Suite libraries from the phone? I am almost sure there is something wrong in the phone.

Partially broken edit and copy capacities

Are the following problems related? And how do I resolve them?
(1) When I edit in a text box, such as in a browser search, the original entry types in, when I go back to edit, it works only the first place I put my cursor. I can move my cursor or even highlight text thereafter, but I cannot replace or insert text - unless I move the cursor outside the text box and click! Then it works again, but in the same limited fashion. (NB - I am having the problem right now, working in Firefox.)
(2) Sometimes copying text (highlight, command-c, command-v) works and sometimes it doesn't. When I try copying from Firefox to Word or TextEdit, for instance, when I show clipboard after a command-c sometimes the clipboard contains the new text, sometimes it contains older copied text, sometimes it is blank. What is going on?
I.e., help! For the moment I can't duplicate problem 2 going from Word to TextEdit, or involving Chrome, so just to be on the safe side I will post on Firefox board also.

This is what you need to do to check the startup disk for errors.
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
*(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)*
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window. Where you see Capacity and Available. *Make sure there is always 10% to 15% free disk space*

Linksys WRT54GS2 router won't install software, wired connection is partially broken

Whenever I try to install my included router software, I always get an "Error 302", which reads:
1. Exit the Program.
2. Eject the Linksys EasyLink Advisor Setup Wizard CD.
3. Restart your computer.
4. Reinsert the Linksys EasyLink Advisor Setup Wizard CD.
The fact that I'm making this thread should tell you that this isn't working. I Googled around to look for potential fixes, and one person said that the software may not work with Windows 7 (which I'm using), and suggested going to http://192.168.1.1/ and configuring it from there. Problem is, I have no clue what the login information for this is, since I'm running on a university network.
To add to my misfortune, plugging my computer (desktop) into the router's ethernet port cuts my internet speed down to a little less than 10% of what it would normally run at, with the added bonus of disconnecting every 30 seconds or so.
Basically, I would like to get my router in working order, so that I may use a secured wireless connection on my PS3 whilst using a wired connection on my PC. I cannot do so for two basic reasons: The setup always results in Error 302, and the connection itself can hardly stay stable.
Some information, if it's any help:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
Model: WRT54GS2-RM
S/N: CUQ01J569884
My internet connection was in working order before adding the router into my setup.
I tried live chat support, which in retrospect was a pretty stupid idea since I disconnected almost immediately.

First throw the CD away, it is useless. Connect via wired computer to 192.168.1.1 with username blank, password 'admin'. Now configure your router manually like normal.

The error message "no air port card installed" keeps coming up

I have a mac book pro from 2010... recently set the computer up to act as more of a desktop by adding a monitor etc. I went to use the internet but the computer error message popped up saying "no air port card installed" I tried a few things that were listed but nothing seemed to reset this. I bought a wireless usb adapter but it was only compatable with a microsoft windows which I do not have. I dont want to take it to get a new airport card installed as it is an old computer and the screen is partially broken, but i would like to know if there is a wireless usb adapter that would be compatible or even if the air port express would work in spite of the error message that I have been getting. would love some thoughts or ideas. thanks!

First before getting another wireless USB adapter, try the following:
1a. Delete Preferred Network(s)
System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Advanced > Wi-Fi tab
Under "Preferred Networks," delete the network(s) you regularly use from the list.
1b. Delete AirPort Keychain Entries
Launch the "Keychain Access" application located in Applications/Utilties.
In the windows on the left side: Select login for Keychains and "All Items" for Category.
Click on the "Kind" filter at the top, and look for any "AirPort network password" entries...and delete them.
1c. Add Preferred Network(s)
System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Advanced > Wi-Fi tab
Add the preferred network(s) using the "+" button.
Restart or log out then back in.
2. Move System Configuration Files
(Note: You will have to reestablish your network connections settings.)
Go to /Library/Preferences
Move the SystemConfiguration folder to the desktop.
Restart your Mac. (Note: OS X will rebuild the files that are now sitting on your desktop. If this doesn't resolve the issue, you can move the folder back to it's original location.)
Please post back your results.

Download location for previous AIR releases

I've completely given up on being able to install AIR 1.5 on
my development machine. Adobe support is very slow to respond and
unhelpful. (Not to mention that the submit form is partially
broken.) This machine had a copy of AIR 1.0 on it. That version has
been uninstalled, and 1.5 will only crash on installation.
Does anyone here have a url where I can download a version of
AIR previous to 1.5?

Need support for resolving a known bug in AIR

Hi All,
I want a favour from all of you so that one of the known issue can be resolved from adobe.This issue is reported by me six month back and as it is treated as a lower priority item so this is not being resolved.But it is a high prority item from the end user perspective.
The issue is related to implementation of behaviour of softkeyboard,when we are using mobile skin in the Textinput,it is not working properly.

Isn't this issue solely related to Flex or is it really the AIR TextField that is broken?
Cause if the former applies, I can see that Adobe has no interest in fixing this as Flex is an Apache project now.

Screen goes partially black

MY iPad Air screen goes partially black in a rectangular fashion. It appears to be intermittent and the portion of the screen that goes black appears to be random. The screen is non responsive when this occurs. Does anyone else have this problem?
