AIR 2.7 and molehill combi for iOS???

Hi,
how do you tell Flash CS 5.5 to compile an iOS app with AIR 2.7 and Flash player 11? (Molehill)
I have both installed but Flash seems to complile to player 10 in AIR 2.7 and I want player 11 in AIR 2.7.
Any help much welcome!
regards!

You might be able to get it to use Flash Player 11 by using the runtimeVersion option when compiling the app with adt and the command line, but even if you did, the mobile version doesn't yet support molehill.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 7.0.4. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.
How to Upgrade to iOS 7
The iOS 7.0 update requires around 2.5 GB of storage space, so if your iPad is almost full, you may need to clear up some space. You can check your available space in Settings -> General -> Usage.
There are two ways to upgrade to iOS 7: You can use your Wi-Fi connection, or you can connect your iPad to your PC and update through iTunes. We'll go over each method.
    To upgrade using Wi-Fi:
Note: If your iPad's battery is under 50%, you will want to plug it into your charger while performing the update.
        1.    Go into the iPad's Settings.
        2.    Locate and tap "General" from the menu on the left.
        3.    The second option from the top is "Software Update". Tap this to move into the update settings.
        4.    Tap "Download and Install". This will start the upgrade, which will take several minutes and will reboot your iPad during the process. If the Download and Install button is grayed out, trying clearing up some space. The space required by the update is mostly temporary, so you should gain most of it back after iOS 7 is installed.
        5.    Once the update is installed, you may have to run through the initial steps of setting up your iPad again. This is to account for new features and settings.
    To upgrade using iTunes:
First, connect your iPad to your PC or Mac using the cable provided when you purchased your device. This will allow iTunes to communicate with your iPad.
You will also need the latest version of iTunes. Don't worry, you will be prompted to download the latest version when you launch iTunes. Once it installs, you may be asked to setup iCloud by logging into your iTunes account. If you have a Mac, you may be prompted on whether or not you want to enable the Find my Mac feature.
Now you are ready to begin the process:
        1.    If you upgraded iTunes earlier, go ahead and launch it. (For many, it will launch automatically when you plug in your iPad.)
        2.    Once iTunes is launched, it should automatically detect that a new version of the operating system exists and prompt you to upgrade to it. Choose Cancel. Before updating, you will want to manually sync your iPad to make sure everything is up to date.
        3.    After canceling the dialog box, iTunes should automatically sync with your iPad.
        4.    If iTunes doesn't automatically sync, you can manually do it by selecting your iPad within iTunes, clicking on the File menu and choosing Sync iPad from the list.
        5.    After your iPad has been synced to iTunes, select your iPad within iTunes. You can find it on the left side menu under Devices.
        6.    From the iPad screen, click on the Update button.
        7.    After verifying that you want to update your iPad, the process will begin. It takes a few minutes to update the operating system during which time your iPad may reboot a few times.
        8.    After updating, you may be asked a few questions when your device finally boots back up. This is to account for new settings and features.

  • No Font-Embedding using AIR 3.0 in Flash Professional (for iOS Development)

    Hey there,
we're developing some plain AS3 projects using Flash Professional (to compile) and Flash Builder.
All is working good with the new AIR 3.0 release and performance is better than with AIR 2.6
I followed this tutorial and simlar to use AIR 3.0 instead of AIR 2.6:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/908/cpsid_90810.html
Sadly today we saw a new issue with font embedding. Neither using Flash Professional itself or Embed-Tag in the code itself works. Also we see that the SWF size does not change when adding multiple fonts.
Anybody has a clue where this issue might be caused? I can think that the way fonts are embedded has changed in AIR 3.0 and it's not working with the "replace AIR 2.6 with AIR X.Y trick".
    Any help welcome.
    Best,
    Cedric

    Hi,
    yes. It works now.
The problem was the TLFTextField itself. Strangely in debug on my Mac fonts showed of correctly, but on the device not. So I assumed that there was an problem of embedding.
But after changing setDefaultFormat to setFormat, then setting the tlftextfield.htmlText = ".." and after that doing tlftextfield.textFlow.flowComposer.updateAllControllers(); it works on the device.
Strange to me, that with active fonts on my Mac it works without updateAllControllers - but on the devices not.
    Thanks for the hints.

  • Syncing different libraries and tailoring content for iOS devices.

Hi guys, got a couple of iTunes and iOS Questions.
    First a little background info:
    I have:
    - A 16gb iPhone 4s
    - A 32gb iPod Touch (Probably 1st gen. I got it 2nd hand).
    I am considering:
    - a 16gb or 32gb iPad (Wifi only)
I used to be a PC user, but have recently switched to Mac.
    - My PC Library contains all the music and Apps I had up until that change. (This is before I worked out how to use iCloud.)
    - My Mac Library contains all the same music, plus everything I’ve acquired since. But NOT the playlists. For some reason when I copied my music to my Mac, those did not transfer.
    - My iPhone is now synced to my Mac Library. (Which is the better library, but it lacks the old cool playlists I lovingly made).
    - My iPod is synced to my PC library, so it’s missing music, but has those old playlists.
    So my questions are:
Is there a way to transfer those old playlists to my new library, and sync them with my iPhone? (Most files should still be present, although the file locations may now vary.)
I want to resync my iPod Touch with my Mac Library, but keep the awesome playlists I have made (Till now, I’ve been reluctant to do this, because my iPod is hooked up to my stereo, and I didn’t want to have to make entire new playlists.)
Is there a way to bring my PC library up to speed and sync it? (It’s actually a different library, with similar files). I’d actually like to (if possible) delete that whole library and start again so it matches my Mac, and keep it all up to date with iCloud. The only thing I want to save are those old playlists.
My girlfriend has almost the same library as me (The PC Version) on her PC, - Plus a few extras I don’t have (Or want. J ). But between us, with home sharing, we have everything. Can we share playlists…
    - On iTunes in the Home
    - On iOS devices (I understand some songs may be missing)
    Also:
    - By the time I put apps on, and leave some space free for photos etc, My iTunes Library is way too big for my 16gb iPhone 4s, so I have manually unchecked a lot of my less listened to music.
    - My 32gb iPod is a great size for me, for storing music and the odd video. I rarely use apps on it now that I have an iPhone.
    - If I do get an iPad, it would basically be for apps. I’d want a bare minimum of my favorite music on it, just to get me through. It would however contain lots of photos, and some video.  In this way, I think a 16gb model would be plenty.
Is there a way to set up iTunes and my IOS devices so that they sync to the same library, but with content tailored for each device?
Also, with a setup like that, if a Playlist is missing a few songs because the source file isn’t on that device, will it still play the other songs?
    Thanks SO much.

    - My PC Library contains all the music and Apps I had up until that change. (This is before I worked out how to use iCloud.)
How did you work this out with iCloud? It has little to do with iTunes.
1 - playlists. On the old computer, open iTunes. File > Library > Export playlist.
This will export a file. Copy this file to the new computer then File > Library > Import playlist. It will duplicate playlists (not files) if they are present in both libraries but you can simply delete the playlist you don't want.
2 - Doing 1 above will add the playlists to the Mac.
3 - To get the playlist from the Mac to the PC, do as 1 above but in reverse.
Or if you want it an exact duplicate...
Delete /Music/iTunes/ folder on the PC.
Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder on the Mac to /Music/ on the PC.
This is all you need to do.
and keep it all up to date with iCloud
Do you mean iTunes Match ($24.99 a year)?

  • Will Apple add Irish Gaelic language and font support for iOS Mobile?

Is there any list available for up and coming languages to be supported by iOS Mobile to check on this?
Granted, this is not a common language, but many in Ireland and the United States who do use this language would much appreciate accomodation, if possible.

Apple do not announce such stuff until it is released, and nobody here has any idea what Apple intends to do.  If you would like to register your interest with Apple, you may contact them via contacts info at the bottom of this screen.
My personal opinion would be not to hold your breath, although you probably have a better chance than the Cornish.  :-)

  • When will Adobe AIR support 96x96 and 144x144 icons for Android?

I´ve been searching the Forum for any hints on this. I´m not sure but is there really no solution for it!?!?
The first post I found was this one: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1088092 from October, 25th 2012 asking for a solution.
One year after this post I installed Adobe AIR 3.9.0.1050 to Flash Pro CC - but I still can´t add these Icons. Really?
Do I miss anything? Can anyone please tell me how to add these Icons to my Android App so I can upload it?

    Hi,
The new update(Flash Pro CC release - November 2013) that allows to publish the AIR applications with newer icon, is now available to you. This Flash CC update will update your flash version to 13.1.0.217.
You can update from the Adobe Creative Cloud application or from Flash Pro CC Help -> Updates menu.
You will find more information on the update at: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash/using/whats-new.html

  • Adobe Ideas and Photoshop Touch for iOS 7 iPhone 5s

I've been attempting to open the designs I create on Adobe Ideas onto my Photoshop Touch for editing. Is this possible? If not, then what should I do? I'm a novice to all of this.

Wish I could help offhand but I'm on Android (which doesn't have Ideas anymore). Ideas produces vector files, no? Someone at the App Store site mentioned you can open the files produced in Ideas in something like SketchBook Pro (which can, in turn, produce raster file formats like PNG, JPEG and PSD).

Well nothing prevent you from mixing flascc with native extension.
Also, I think that you can also use domain memory in AS3 with the Bytearray class (not sure about that).
Flascc vs normal as3 is mostly a question of language (portability) Do you want to write as3 or c++?
Native extension give you speed and native platform access(platform specific feature).
So, you should think about it this way:
AS3, run in flash and air. Is sandboxed. Can use domain memory, but it's a bit harder to leverage than flascc.
Flascc, run in flash and air. Is sandboxed, Can use domain memory. Give you the potential of leveraging the hundreds of opensources lib already out there.
Native extension, run ONLY in air. Is not sandboxed. Native memory management. Also let you leverage the c++ lib.
The best (in my opinion) is to write native code for mobile and desktop (no air or flascc involve) and use flascc for the flash/web platform. It's harder, because you have write portable native code (lots of abstraction), but you mostly have the same problem with native extension.

  • Flash CS6 AIR for iOS

Flash Professional CS6
    ・Windows 7(32bit)
    ・AIR SDK:3.5.0.880 for iOS
    設定等は特に変えていないのですが、
    検証機のiPhone 5(iOS6.1.2)、iPhone 4(6.0.1)へクイックパブリッシュでインストールしようとすると、
    "Installation Error: ApplicationVerificationFailed

  • Built app with Flash Builder 4.6 and compiled for iOS, now error when loading to appstore

I built a fairly simple app using Flash Builder 4.6 and have successfully deployed it to the Android Market (after testing on my own Android device).  I have also taken that same app and compiled it for iOS and tested it on my own iPad.
I have then done the release build with the "Final Release for App Store Distribution" option in the release build wizard.  I have all the correct provisioning certificates in place and compiled the application to a .ipa file.
At this point, using a MAC, I have run the Application Loader utility to upload my application to the itunesConnect portal to get it in the appstore.  I've already gone through the steps of entering the metadata, price scheme, and screenshots in the itunes connect portal, and just need to upload it for review.
When I upload the .ipa file into the application loader, it gives me the following error:
"iPhone/iPod Touch:  application executable contains unsupported architecture(s): arm"
Anyone have any idea what this means and how I can fix it?  Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance!

Solved it.  Just added the following in the <InfoAdditions> tag for iPhone in my app descriptor XML file:
      <key>UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities</key>
    <array>
    <string>wifi</string>
    <string>armv6</string>
    <string>armv7</string>

  • BBM for iOS and Android to Launch This Summer

PRESS RELEASE TAKEN FROM : http://press.blackberry.com/press/2013/bbm-for-ios-and-android-to-launch-this-summer-.html
Waterloo, ON – BlackBerry® (NASDAQ: BBRY; TSX: BB) today announced plans to make  its ground-breaking mobile social network, BlackBerry® Messenger (BBM™), available to iOS® and Android™ users this summer, with support planned for iOS6, and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or higher, all subject to approval by the Apple App Store and Google Play. BBM sets the standard for mobile instant messaging with a fast, reliable, engaging experience that includes delivered and read statuses, and personalized profiles and avatars. Upon release, BBM customers would be able to broaden their connections to include friends, family and colleagues on other mobile platforms.
In the planned initial release, iOS and Android users would be able to experience the immediacy of BBM chats, including multi-person chats, as well as the ability to share photos and voice notes, and engage in BBM Groups, which allows BBM customers to create groups of up to 30 people.
“For BlackBerry, messaging and collaboration are inseparable from the mobile experience, and the time is definitely right for BBM to become a multi-platform mobile service. BBM has always been one of the most engaging services for BlackBerry customers, enabling them to easily connect while maintaining a valued level of personal privacy. We’re excited to offer iOS and Android users the possibility to join the BBM community,” said Andrew Bocking, Executive Vice President, Software Product Management and Ecosystem, at BlackBerry.
BBM is loved by customers for its “D” and “R” statuses, which show up in chats to let people know with certainty that their message has been delivered and read. It provides customers with a high level of control and privacy over who they add to their contact list and how they engage with them, as invites are two-way opt-in. iOS and Android users would be able to add their contacts through PIN, email, SMS or QR code scan, regardless of platform. Android users would also be able to connect using a compatible NFC-capable device.
BBM has more than 60 million monthly active customers, with more than 51 million people using BBM an average of 90 minutes per day. BBM customers collectively send and receive more than 10 billion messages each day, nearly twice as many messages per user per day as compared to other mobile messaging apps. Almost half of BBM messages are read within 20 seconds of being received; indicating how truly engaged BBM customers are.
Today, BlackBerry also announced BBM Channels, a new social engagement platform within BBM that will allow customers to connect with the businesses, brands, celebrities and groups they are passionate about. BlackBerry plans to add support for BBM Channels as well as voice and video chatting for iOS and Android later this year, subject to approval by the Apple App Store and Google Play.
If approved by Apple and Google, the BBM app will be available as a free download in the Apple® App StoreSM and Google Play store. Additional details about system requirements and availability will be announced closer to the launch.
Remember to like someone's post if it was useful!

I agree, it's too bad it won't be available for WP8 right away, but hopefully it'll be coming down the road.
BBM is a really nice platform. A lot of my former BBM contacts are now my WhatsApp contacts, but BBM is more secure and doesn't use your phone number, which some people don't want available to group members. Also, I like that BBM doesn't show everyone when you last used the application, like Facebook Chat and WhatsApp do.
