AIR App won't install if different certificate is used

Hello!
I've taken over a project that was previously developed by another company.
Now I'm using my own certificate to codesign the air application. The problem is now, that the air installer won't allow to install the application if the old application (codesigned with the certificate of the previous developer) is installed on the system. It doesn't even say that there's a codesign problem it just drops the error (translated from german:)
Unfortunately an error happened.
This application cannot be installed because of a wrong installer configuration. Contact the application author

if i check the system.log, i can see:
Installer[1190]: The certificate of the installed app fails to match either the signature or migration signature of the AIR file
if I uninstall the old version of the app first, then the installer will install the application without problems.
However - this application will be distributed to many clients. It will be quite confusing for them If they just see the error (cannot be installed because of a wrong installer configuration. Contact the application author.)
What's the reason for this error message and is there a way arround it?

I've been devloping my first iOS app in AIR for a few months. Testing on up to 3 devices has gone fine. It's time to submit to the app store. I'm developing for a client who wants the app in their name in the app store. So they set up an Apple iOS developer account and gave me access. When I made a new set of certificates and profiles with the new account the app failed to install on my testing device. I've remade all the certificates multiple times and double checked that I have the correct UUID and am not using a distribution profile.
Is there a problem using someone else's account with keys and certificates made on my mac? What else can I try?

.air files (Air apps) won't install

Hello everybody.
After having successfully installed the latest AIR runtime, I downloaded an .air app and tried to execute it, to no avail. First off, the .air file was not associated with anything, therefore Windows asked me what application I would want to run it with. I then tried to associate it with airappinstaller.exe that can be found under Program Files\Flash Player\Addins, but any time I execute it I get a message saying that there was a problem and I should try to install the latest AIR runtime (which I have already).
I'm kind of lost, what's the problem and how should I deal with it?

Glad you were able to work around the problem. The latest runtime shouldn't have issues making the appropriate .air extension association. If possible, try uninstalling and reinstalling the AIR 2.0.3 runtime. If you still run into problems, please post your installer log file so we can try and dig deeper.

Adobe AIR Apps Won't Install!!! Help!

Please help me. Whenever I' try to install adobe air apps i get an error message:
"Something went wrong trying to install this application. Please install the latest version of Adobe AIR from http"//www.adobe.com/go/getair and then try again."
I've downloaded the latest version of adobe air every time and all it says is that my version is up to dat. It still doesnt work. Please help!

According to Adobe system requirement website, AIR is not compatible with os 10.5.7 - http://www.adobe.com/products/air/systemreqs/

IPad Air apps won't install Shows as intalled

I have downloaded apps from app store they show as being installed while downloading then go away and do not show on iPad after downloads completes. When I check the app store they show as intalled with an open button next to them. Clicking on the open button does nothing app will not open. This is my first iPad so there is not an issue with a former iPad. iTunes also shows missing apps installed.

Yea I tried that one as well all no go. I am thinking I may have used the wrong terms to describe what the app store icon show when open and listing what is on the iPad. The app icon appears with the word "open" next to it when the app store purchased file is open. But clicking on it does nothing.
I have even watched the icon appear during the install the once it completes it disappears. I guess a trip to the genius bar may be in my future I have tried everything short of a complete restore.

Different licaensing methods, different serial numbers.
You won't be able to register a few year old software with the serial number from today.
Download a current version and install.

Creative Cloud Desktop app won't install error 207; Adobe server?

Is there a problem with some of Adobe.com servers? My employer just purchased a CC subscription for my work Mac, and the CC Desktop App won't install. I've restarted my Mac, quit all Adobe products, redownloaded the DMG file (creativecloudinstaller.dmg), and checked to make sure my firewall is off. But I still get an error message #207. My DNS servers are set to the same ones that other Macs in my group are set to, and they have CC on their Macs.
I don't know if it's related, but I can't load "adobe.com" in my browser, either. All other webpages are fine, including (obviously) this forum.
I am using OS 10.8.5, connected via Ethernet, and my browser is Chrome.

Thank you for your help, Ned. I also called Adobe help via phone, and he confirmed that my company's server needed to whitelist several Adobe sites. The company had revised their servers not long ago, and evidently did not transfer their old whitelists (which is why my coworkers had previously been able to access Creative Cloud). The phone support person emailed me a helpful list that I could forward to our company's tech support center—but the link you supplied in your response was also perfectly relevant.

For ipod touch 4g...using iOS 5.1--can someone tell me why my apps won't install all of a sudden? I thought it might be a memory problem since the diagnostic says my mem is low, but closing all apps in the dock didn't help. Neither did restarting or resetting the ipod.

It shows that I have 14.3GB free. What happens is that whenever I try to install an app it stays at the 'waiting' stage for a really long time. Then when I erase the app and try to reinstall it tells me that the app has already been downloaded and that I should check for available downloads. Installing the app from the computer works fine, but I don't understand why I can't do it from the ipod anymore.

Idea Tab A8-50 (A5500)- PAID apps won't install

I purchased an A5500 (A8-50) tablet in May in Austria/Europe. I noticed an issue concerning the use of PAID apps purchased from Google Play Store. I do not experience these problems with any other devices or Android-versions. I received a replacement but still the same issues. I called Lenovo Support, but it could not help at all.
4.2.2:
Out of the box the A5-80 runs Android 4.2.2. You may install and use free Apps from Google Play Store with no problems. Paid apps are downloaded and installed. You may run the app afterwards, however, once you turn off the device (shut down) your paid apps get lost. After boot-up free apps work as usual. PAID apps won’t start at all. Android displays “Anwendung ist nicht installiert” (“Application not installed”). There is no problem in re-downloading and re-installing the paid apps from Google Play again. One may also use these apps – until reboot. This has to be a bug, not a feature – I am not keen on having to install every paid app again after any reboot. Not shutting down the tablet is not option for me.

OTA Upgrades form Lenovo do solve the problem either. The first to upgrades (after receiving the device) are 4.2.2-updates. The third one upgrades to Android 4.4.2. After such update PAID apps won’t install at all. There is no issue with free apps. The latest update (July 9, 2014; “still” 4.4.2) does not bring any change. PAID apps are downloaded from Google Play Store but not installed. Rather Android displays an error message "Installation auf dem USB-Speicher bzw. der SD-Karte fehlgeschlagen" (Couldn't install on USB storage or SD card). In my opinion this can only refer to internal memory as no external SD-Card is installed and free apss are installed as usual.
Does anyone else experience these problems?
Is there a resolution to this?

It is not a swype bug (Swype is also one of the paid apps I use). It relates to any paid app. Free apps (as you experienced with the Swype free) have no problems.

My AIr app won't compile when I choose anything but the
default icons. I created 4 pngs in Photoshop and it gives me the
error: Useage error (incorrect arguments)
Any help? I've tried using only 1 icon, all 4, and no icons.
Only no icons works.

You dont have to use the GUI to set it, you can use the air
appliation XML.
inside your air-app.xml file look for something like:
<icon>
<image128x128>icons/myIcon128.png</image128x128>
<image48x48>icons/myIcon48.png</image48x48>
<image32x32>icons/myIcon32.png</image32x32>
<image16x16>icons/myIcon16.png</image16x16>
</icon>
if its not there add it, but replace the myIcon128.png with
your 128 point png image etc.
also the above assumes your icons are in a folder called
"icons" in the same directory as your air file.

AIR 3.7 app won't install on Transformer Infinity, gives "device storage full" error

I just upgraded to AIR 3.7 and have found my AIR for Android app, published from the Flash CS6 IDE, will no longer install on my Asus Transformer Infinity. Both Flash and the Asus Sync software report an installation error and that the device storage is full. If I transfer the APK onto my tablet from Windows and then try to install the APK directly on the Transformer it tries to install and then reports the installation failed. This issue occurs from multiple computers. Reverting to AIR 3.5 causes the app to work again. My storage is not full; I have 10 gigabytes free. USB debugging and installation of non-market apps are enabled.
Does anyone know what might be the cause? The same app compiled with AIR 3.7 does work on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0.
