Air Bubble behind screen?

Recently purchased a brand new 2010 15" MBP (default screen) and just noticed that there's what appears to be a air bubble (slight oil bubble resemblance) between the gloss and LCD that varies in size from max the size of a dime to just a few mm. If I 'gently' apply pressure with the apple cloth over the spot the bubble follows for an inch or two before returning to the same spot. I read in other forums that gently rubbing in small circles around the area will make it disappear. If I gently apply pressure on the back of the screen in the same area the air bubble disappears completely. However it keeps coming back after a few hours whenever I flip open/close my lid. It causes some screen distortions during the blue startup screen but otherwise I only notice it when the monitor is turned off.
Anybody else experience this before? or whether this should be cause for alarm?

I took a quick pic with my iphone, it looks like a mirror but the air bubble area is the distortion above the aerosol can.

MBP was purchased in Hong Kong at premium authorized reseller about 3 weeks ago. I'm not near any official Apple Stores but if I return to Canada in June and I will still be under 1 year warranty will they service it? Does anybody know?
Thanks

  • Air Bubbles Inside Screen?

Hi, I've had my 3Gs for about a year now and around December of 2010 it started a small bubble developed on the left side of the screen.. I paid it no mind as it was very minor and I'm expecting to get the next iPhone when it is released.
However, the air bubble has grown tremendously and just looks atrocious. And to make matters worse, a second air bubble on the right side of the screen is developing at an even faster rate.
My question is, will I be able to visit the Genius Bar and get this fixed/replaced? Or am I just out of luck?
I'm at work now, I'll post pics sometime tomorrow after I get off in the AM..
    Thanks a million!

Have you ever had a rock hit the windshield of your car and leave a little nick in it (not a crack, just a little divot where a tiny piece of the glass has chipped away? That's what I mean by a chip. A nick. A piece of the glass that has been broken from the surface of the display.
As has already been stated, if it was a manufacturing defect, it would have been there since day 1. Since you said it appeared later, that means the glass came in contact with something hard enough to take a piece out of it.

  • Water/Air Bubble Under Screen?? :(

I managed to get 2 Touchpads in the firesale in the UK.  One for me that I started using straight away with no issues - I'm very happy with it.
However, I also got one for my wife that I hid away until her birthday this week.  It seems to function exactly as it should, but there is a small bubble of water or air under the screen, near the middle.  You can still see the colours under it and it doesn't appear to be creating problems apart from being annoying because it is alwys there   If you tap the screen anywhere else, it seems to glow briefly.
I am assuming this is a manufacturing defect?  I wondered if you'd recommend just putting up with it, or will HP be able to fix this?  Or is there something I can try to fix it?
Post relates to: HP TouchPad (WiFi)

Easier said than done on such a shiney screen   Sorry they're a bit blurry - taken on my iPhone!!
Bit of paper to reflect on, you can see the black blob that is the "bubble".
Then here with the screen on (between Music and Photo/Video):
Then here a bit bigger as I touch the screen:
It isn't too noticable on photo's etc.. but shows up more on the black.

  • Air Bubble on my 5s Screen

Guys help after i romove my screen protector on my iphone
i notice that there is a air bubble on my iphone screen on top
left. Its been irritatating. What will I Do??? Help plss

I Know what the problem is, the same thing happened to my iPhone.
The bubble is just from heat, which means that your iPhone basically melted underneath the top glass layer. This happens to many iPhones, and iPods. The bubble  will usually form in the corners, or, around the edge.
If you have Apple Care, bring it into Apple and you will either receive a new iPhone for free, or, you will receive a new iPhone for a low price.
If you don't have Apple Care, the bubble will not effect the way your iPhone works in ANY way.  You can just wait until your phone contract ends, then trade in your old iPhone for your new iPhone, and Apple will still take your iPhone.
    I hope that helped!!!

  • Clear screen protector application - air bubble removal

I have bought many clear screen protectors and often have had issues trying to get the air bubbles out from the screen protectors. Sometimes, dust is underneath the protect and when I try to clean it out using the cloth included with the protector, it gets even more dust and then the protector becomes useless. Is there any recommendations on how to best avoid getting air bubbles underneath your screen protector?

I just received and installed the Incipio Feather case on my iPhone 4. I had it on my 3G and liked it as it is a very slim, unobtrusive case and is like a hard plastic core with a matte, slightly rubbery, velvety surface. I had installed Zagg first, but was displeased with the orange peel surface on the front. I left the Zagg on the back as I do feel it will offer good protection from the back and removed it from the front. The case fit with no problems. The incipio feather comes with 2 hard clear screen protectors with a hole for the front camera, and the front protectors are MUCH better than having the rubbery, lumpy Zagg on the front screen and don't require any liquid to apply. I was hoping I would get one crystal screen protector and one matte protector as I did when I used Power Support screens in the past, but they are both clear. The surface is smooth and nice. I don't have any loss of signal now when I hold the phone in my palm cupping the lower left side. I probably slightly prefer the matte power support screen as it is easier to keep clean, but power support is not shipping yet. If I had to do it over again I would skip the Zagg and just get the incipio. Just my 2 cents and thought I'd share my experience.

  • After cleaning screen with iKlear, air bubbles appeared...

The other night I cleaned my macbook's screen with iKlear solution. After I cleaned it I noticed about 20 very small air bubbles that had formed on the screen. When you rub the iKlear cleaning cloth over the screen you can distinctly hear the sound that air bubbles make when you move something over them...I know for a fact that this is not dirt/saliva on the screen.
This isn't a huge problem for me but these bubbles are noticable at certain angles which gets annoying.
Anyone have the same problem or have sugestions on how I can fix this problem?
    Thanks!
    -Isaac

The bubble's disapeared somehow...still not sure what happened

  • Air bubble underneith my screen?

I have the BlackBerry Curve 9300, and I have had it since November 2010. I just noticed about a half hour ago that there is an air bubble underneith my screen. Its right in the middle of my screen and when I press/push on it, it moves all over the screen and spreads out but then goes right back to the middle of my screen when I stop pressing on my screen, its like a thin oblong bubble but when I press my screen it moves to any shape. Also, my screen is extremely sensitive now, when my finger slightly touches my screen, it makes the look and colours when you inteensly touch your screen, like goes black where you press and stuff. What is this? Why is it happening all of a sudden and what do I do?

I Know what the problem is, the same thing happened to my iPhone.

  • HOW TO PUT THE PLASTIC COVER ON IPHONE WITHOUT BUBBLES ON SCREEN

how to prevent bubbles when putting new screen onto iphone 4

Get yourself an anti-static cleaning cloth (one may come with your protector, or you can buy/find one in the electronics section at a store), and a wallet sized card like a Driver's License, etc.
Thoroughly clean the screen with the cloth, and start with one end of the screen protector, either side is your choice. Work top to bottom. Make sure you line it up correctly. Then SLOWLY work the card up/down the screen protector until you are satisfied. Some air bubbles can be removed with the card, if any debris is stuck between the phone and the screen, start over and clean the "sticky" side of the protector with some clear tape.

  • Air bubbles under glass display

    Hello,
this morning I spotted air bubbles under the display and even under the "white space" of my almost new (about one month old) Iphone 4 (16gb).
I think I didn't notice these bubbles because until this morning I kept the original plastic screen on the display.
Now I tried to contact apple support but when I type my serial number here: http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/contact/
    it won't show me anything.

I also have the same problem - but on an iphone 3GS. Am assuming the only way air can get in is during manufacture?
Out of warrenty. Anything I can do? Have seen posts saying if you ignore it it gets worse, but don't see why I should have to pay to rectify something that was created during manufacture

  • Air bubbles in display W700

A few weeks ago I noticed what I thought was a pixel-related artifact, but on closer inspection it looked more like a chip. As I don't often use the tablet display - I usually rely on the HDMI out to a large monitor - I have no idea how long this has been present. Additionally it is is positioned in the lower right corner above the Windows system tray. Further investigation - prompted by the appearance of what appears to be an air bubble in the upper right area of the tablet - reveals that the original artifact is also an air bubble. I've achieved some manipulation of its shape to confirm this. Has anyone else come across his problem? Does anyone have a solution, or do I need to return my tablet? Thanks,Christian

I have the same problem, have contacted Acer about this due to mine being out of warranty and they advised I would have to pay to get the tablet delivered to acer, they would then quote me for replacement and then I would to decide if I wanted the item fixed.
The bubbles on the screen move about and differ in size constantly, for such an expensive item it is quite annoying.
And now it seems like I'm not alone with this fault, surely Acer should do a recall?!?
A replacement digitiser screen through amazon is about £57, I would attempt it myself but am not confident enough to remove the org digitiser layer.. Anyone attempted that?

  • Air bubble under scre

On the screen protector that came with the Zen Vision: M, there is an air bubble in the top right corner of the screen, and it looks like dust is underneath. Since it is right at the corner, is it possible to partially remove the screen to fix it, and then put the screen back on, or will it lose it's stickiness? I want to leave the screen protector on because I don't have a case or anything to protect it.

bestskinsever.com just bought this for my ZVM and it will protect the face?of the ZVM. Skin+shipping and handling is under $9.00. and you will never have to worry again. The protector that comes with the ZVM is nice for the screen but you need to keep the rest of it protected from those hairline scratches and this will do the job.

What version of OS X are you using? If Yosemite, you need to update to 10.10.1 or higher.
In any case, start by going to the editor preferences>general, clicking this button and restarting the editor:
