Air Installer not installing -
Hello,
Specs: Intel celeron cpu 900 /Windows 7 x64 Home Premium sp1
Trying to install the "Air Installer" but it doesn't complete, error message says
I need to contact admin. I am the admin and the only user.
On another install attempt the error message said files can be corrupt.
Hope someone can make sense of this mess, I so appreciate it!

Sorry for missing that info in your initial post. I'm not sure what happened there. I took a look at the MSI logs and you've got something strange going on. In particular, I believe the failure might be:

XPpro with 2.4ghz cpu, 2 gig ram, 2 much harddrive, single-user desktop, and I am the registered administrator.
Problem is Adobe AIR will NOT install.
I downloaded Adobe AIR installer and ran in normal way.
Adobe AIR attempts to install and then craps out with a message, "Sorry, an error has occured."
The error reported is error=0.
There are no logs, because there are no Adobe AIR common files in the Program directory.
Adobe AIR does NOT appear on the list of installed programs in Control Panel.
Have searched the registry and removed all references to AIR, and then tried to reinstall, with same result.
Another time, the error message said I was not the administrator, but control panel says I am, and I am the only user.
Any HELP solving this critical problem would be keenly appreciated, and thank you.Sorry forgot to add system info:

Adobe Air will not install / reinstall. Prior to attempt to reinstall, it would not update. The automatic "update now" button was greyed out, but the "update later" button was active.
Here is what my system administrator wrote:
1. Right-Click on the installer, clicked 'Show Package
Contents' and attempted to install from the MasOS folder. This
provided an interesting error in the terminal window, however still
did not install.
2. From there, I opened 'Console' (found in Applications
--> Utilities) and dug through the install error logs. Pinned
the issue down to AIR trying to update / use files that were
already in use.
3. Restarted the computer under the primary admin account
(the account used to setup the computer) and installed successfully
from there. -

My AIR application not installed.
AIR application installer shows window with 'Getting ready to install..." and window closed and nothing happens. What I'm doing wrong and where I can see an 'installation log' to obtain the root reason of AIR installation problems?
My env: Fedora 12 x64, AIR and AIR SDK just downloaded and installed from site. All AIR SDK applications (adl and adt) works well.

I trace it in gdb and see that libxml2::xmlHasProp throws this signal because it receive an invalid node pointer from libadobecertstore.so.
So I can't find or obtain debug symbols for adobeair-1.5.3-9130.i386 and I don't know what I should do to fix a problem... -

CS5 Bridge will not open, Air will not install, and AAM Updater will not update. Please help!
I am having several problems with CS5, and as best I can tell they all seem to be related. I purchased CS5 about a month ago. Photoshop has opened and ran fine. However, recently AAM notified me some several updates available. When I tried to update them they all failed. This lead to the discovery that Bridge will not open at all, Air installs but with an error and cannot update itself or applications like Adobe Help, and since the AAM updater ran it now thinks everything is up to date.
I have search endlessly for every piece of information I could find on this issue. As well as, sat on the phone with tech support for hours. As best I can tell, (and really I have no evidence to support me), it seems to all be related to a permissions issues. However, I have tried everything the forums suggested with no luck, and Tech Support ended with me doing an Uninstall and reinstall (twice), while repairing permissions in-between. I am about at the end of the road with this issue and would greatly appreciate any additional suggests you could offer.
Some additional details.
Running a MBP i7, 8GB RAM, and MAC OSX 10.6.4
Bridge Issue,
When attempting to launch Bridge it simply returns an error "This operation could not be completed..." I tried the option click and reset method, no luck.
Air Issue,
Kind of works, but at the same time doesn't. In that in one of the previous installations programs like Adobe Help would not run. Now Help does run, however, when I go to update Air it says it completed successfully but then immediately gives me an error saying "~this may not be allowed by the administrator..." I also cannot update Adobe Help, it just sits and says preparing to update.
AAM Updater Issue,
This appeared to work fine until I attempted to install an update. It downloaded everything and then failed on the install. However, now it thinks everything is up to date, but nothing is.Well despite not getting much love on this forum. I was able to correct the problem. I tried every solution that google would produce on these issues. Ultimately it came done to permission issue. I was lead to this fix by a person on flickr that suggested permissions as the cause. However, his solution was to modify the permissions in the home directory root and apply them to every subsequent folder in the home directory. Although quick and easy, I felt this would lead to more trouble then it was worth.
I did some more digging and what I discovered is that all the permission of the Adobe folders in the home directory library (not the HD library) and the application folder did not match all the other folders in those areas. Some of the files in some of the folders did not match either. So I made them match (the ones that matched I left alone), and everything seemingly went back to working normally. It was a bit of a pain going folder by folder. Fortunately there where not many of them. About 8 in total, plus the internal folders. -
I have recently acquired a new HP machine, stock from the good people at staples. I have tried to install reader on this machine many times and failed miserably. I download the installer, run it. The progress bar fills to completion, and then.. nothing. Reader just isn't on my computer afterwards and I still can't open PDFs.
I have tried running Adobe Air, tried making sure all the various pluggins are running on firefox, tried downloading through internet explorer. I have run the installer probably a good dozen times by now, from different downloads, at different times. Nothing seems to actually put Reader on my computer.
Any ideas?That is indeed the installer I have been trying to run. (When I downloaded it again from your link it replaced the one I currently had.) As you can see the process runs to 100% and then simply disapears. I have noticed that it seems to be trying to run an update, and without any software to update that might have something to do with the issue. That said, I thought all these times I was actually downloading an installer not a mere update, but this is all I've been able to accomplish thusfar. After completion, I try opening a pdf file. No avail.

Air Application not installing included folders on Win 7
Hi All
i have a really strange problem. I have made a native air installer. I have included a folder in the included files panel before publishing. When I publish it publishes fine. And when I install the air app it installs the only problem is When I go to the installed directory I see the air app but not the folder I included. Should this be the case? Where is the included folder. Can anyone help???

I recently attempted to install an AIR application, but got the error message "This application requires an update to Adobe AIR but download of that update has failed". I tried numerous times, but always the same error.
I'm now trying to reinstall AIR, but whenever I try to run the installer (from the desktop, My Documents or wherever) I get the error "Windows cannot find 'C:\Users\(my Windows username)\Appdata\Local\Temp\AIR(4 random characters).tmp\Adobe AIR Installer.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again". I've checked that file location and the folder exists (presumably extracted by the installer), but no "Adobe AIR Installer.exe" - just "setup.msi", "setup.swf" and a folder called "Adobe AIR". No matter where I run the installer from or with what permissions, it still throws the same error. I am using Windows 7.

Probably the application you are trying to install has an obsolete namespace like 2.0beta/2.0beta2 or it has a higher namespace(not public yet).
Could you just follow these steps:
1) Copy the AIR file you are trying to download locally somewhere
2) Change its extension from .air to .zip
3) Extract it.
4) Open the file META-INF\AIR\application.xml
5) There would be a line of the sort:
<application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/1.5">
Could you just copy this line of your application.xml here?
Also, which is the AIR version you are trying to download? Did you try downloading the latest AIR 2 available at:
http://get.adobe.com/air/

I am having trouble running the packaged adobe Air installer (downloaded from http://get.adobe.com/air). The .dmg image mounts fine, then when I double-click or select the package nothing runs. I even tried to run the installer inside the package (from the gui and a shell) and nothing executes. I get no error messages either.
I recently upgraded from OS X 10.3 to 10.4.11, and have tried all I can find on the web.
A summary of what I've tried:
- checked file permissions
- run installer as administrator (every time)
- downloaded the package several times and from several locations(adobe.com, cnet.com)
- tried to run the installer on a terminal using sudo command
- followed this similar thread (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2024084) and tried everything on it (repair disk permissions with disk util, create new admin account to install - couldn't install it there either)
- There are no packages in /Library/Receipts,
- Nothing inside Applications, nothing inside Applications/Utilities

Adobe Air is not installed on Mac 10.6.7
Hello,
I read and reread all the discussions in here. Followed Chris's script repair nothing helped. Here is the my issue, after a fresh download of Adobe air, when I try to istall it nothing will happen. On the Adoe Air installer window it said 1of1 selected,Zero KB available. Then I found this in my folders, I mean user/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Air/updater. There is nothing in the updater folder. I trashed this air folder and reinstalled air, the same thing old story. If you like to see what is in my consol, here it goes

If you're still having problems installing AIR can you try the following steps:
1. Uninstall the AIR runtime
2. Delete all left over AIR directories and files. This includes the following directories:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe AIR
C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\www.macromedia.com
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\www.macromedia.com
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Adobe\AIR

3. Install AIR 2.5.1 again

Windows Installer not installed properly, then boots to safe mode w/no backlight?
I have only used my laptop for about 2 weeks.
I tried to download an Adobe Reader update, and I got a message that said "Windows Installer was not installed correctly."
I retarted my computer, but it would only boot in safe mode.
I tried a System Restore, but I got a message that said "System Restore doesn't appear to be functioning properly."
I tried to do a virus scan (just in case), but my computer will not connect to the internet, so that's not working, either.
I tried to restart once more, but as soon as I went to put my password in, the backlight on the laptop would shut off, and then it would only boot in safe mode.
I put the laptop away for a little while because my life got very busy and I didn't have the time to deal with it. Today, when I turned the laptop on to try and troubleshoot, it booted normally, and successfully- no safe mode, backlight still on- and then it told me that System Restore had worked.
What gives?
Anyone have any ideas what happened / what I did to make this happen / how I can avoid it in the future / if the computer is actually going to function properly or if it needs to be sent back?

When you restore the system earlier to back date it did not get complete and also Windows 7 has startup repair option which fixes the common startup bugs.

Adobe Air will not install for Mac OS 10.5.8
When I try to open the installer.app, I get the message: "You cannot open the application Adobe AIR installer.app because it is not supported on this architecture". I am running OS 10.5.8 on an iBook G4 (1.42 GHz PowerPC G4). Help, please. I do not understand the directions for getting the log msgs.

I'm sorry you're running into this problem. The error is being caused by the lack of support for the G4 processor in the AIR 2.5.1 runtime. Please use AIR 1.5.3 instead.
