Air installer won't display window in Mac OS 10.6.4
Hi,
I'm having problems installing Air. I just bought a $79 app running only on Air and am quite frustrated about this.
I downloaded the latest Air installer but when I launch it, the icon appears in the dock but the window is nowhere to be seen – so I can't go through with the installation process.
Noteworthy:
- the installer does create a Adobe/Air directory in my Application support folder
- this is the console output for the installer:

- Deleting Application Support/Adobe/Air
- Deleting pref files
- Deleting all Air applications
- Copying uninstaller from another Mac, uninstalling and trying again
Nothing seems to work. What a waste of money and time.

Adobe AIR Installer - Hybrid - fails to launch on MAC
We have an AIR application to be delivered as a hybrid DVD
The AIR is deployed as a bundled runtime installer.
The issue is after burning the DVD as a hybrid, the Adobe AIR Installer does not launch.
We are using toast to burn the hybrid DVD
Has anybody encountered a aimilar issue
sksI've tried using the Leopard Disk Utility to burn a CD-R from a .dmg and a .cdr (using various options like compressed, read only ,etc.) based on the same directory that the USB installers are copied from (USB installers of AIR app + Sidecar works on Windows/Mac and Linux after installing AIR separately). I can't get those disks read on a Vista or an XP (SP 3) machine. Nothing comes up in the CD/DVD drive. If I use wodim in Ubuntu Linux (installed on a partition on a G4 Powerbook, old, I know) the installer CD works on Mac but it's not readable on WinXp or Vista.
I've also tried to copy the .cdr created on a Mac and rename it to .iso, moved it over to a Windows machine and tried burning it with 2 different software (will try Nero next) and it fails to write from the mac-originated .iso. Windows always seems to butcher the Mac-based installer .app files because it thinks they are folders so I have been unable to create a Data CD directly from the file structure on Windows.
I'd love a bullet-proof way to burn a CD that would work on Windows and Mac (and Linux would be a plus).

Adobe CS6 installer won't download onto my Mac!
I am trying to download Adobe CS6 Creative Suite Standard onto my new MacBook Pro and the installer won't download. It starts downloading and then suddenly stops and won't start again. I'm very frustrated, can anyone help?!

Adobe air installation / uninstallation failure on windows 7 / 32bit
My air version is 3.0.0.4080 as noted in below.
It does not work on update to new version, and also on uninstallation.
I have revies so many other posts on various websites.
msiexec /unregister
msiexec /regserver
And also above solution did not work at all.
Please give me a new, fancy solution.

Microsoft has just released a new utility that can help resolve installation problems. Would you mind giving this a try and let us know how it works for you? When running the Fix it, go through the uninstall process and try to remove Adobe AIR from your system. Once finished, download the latest version of AIR and install again.

We're currently studying to develop a video player app using AIR 14 targeting Windows, Mac OS and Android.
Access DRM is needed but reading online tech specs (URL Adobe Access - Tech specs), there is no mention of windows 8+, Mac OS 10.8 &10.9, android 4+ support.

Is there any way to package the installer for an Adobe AIR application using Adobe AIR 1.5 as an executable (.EXE) file?
I found that this is possible for Adobe AIR 2.0, but it requires an upgrade to Adobe AIR 2.0 runtime. Are there any other options using the Adobe AIR 1.5 runtime?

App opens, won't display windows, crashes
Machine running 10.4 with all updates. Safari launches. Can view downloads and activity window. I try to open a new window and it acts like it did, but nothing. If I quit, it gives a crash report. I can hit shiftcmdh for home, and it opens a window for about a second then crashes. Happens for all users.
Tried removing all preferences (user and global). Tried moving the plug-ins folder. Repaired permissions and verified disk. Nothing is working. Any ideas?

Safari opens but won't display window
I am having trouble with Safari opening and not displaying a window to browse in.
I appreciate any feedack.I am having this problem as well, but it only occurs when launching Safari using the "Open at login" feature.

I downloaded a program from Roboform called rfwipeout.exe. I backed up my passwords, identities, etc and completely removed all traces of roboform. This did not help. When I re-installed the roboform new release it got the same message that it thinks I am using version 3.6 of Firefox instead of 11.0. There must be some setting in the Firefox folders that never gets changed when you update to a new version.
Soon after that I ran a backup of Firefox profiles identities, etc using MOZ BACKUP. I had never noticed this until then but the message asks if I want to backup Mozilla Firefox 3.6. Since 2 completely different programs refer to my installation as 3.6 there must be something wrong in one of the Firefox files. -

First when you try to install do you receive any error messages? You stated when you try opening the install folder nothing happens. Are you just opening a folder or are you double clicking on an installer?
Finally you mentioned not receiving an activation code from Adobe. Did you purchase the Student and Teacher Edition of the software? If so have you submitted your proof of eligibility? -

What do you mean by "Windows for Mac 2004"? Are you referring to Office Mac 2004, if so, no it won't work with Lion as it requires Rosetta.
Yes, you will be able to load iWork '09 and iLife' 09 on your MBA. Your new MBA will come with iLife '09 already preinstalled. -
AIR App won't install if different certificate is used

I've taken over a project that was previously developed by another company.
Now I'm using my own certificate to codesign the air application. The problem is now, that the air installer won't allow to install the application if the old application (codesigned with the certificate of the previous developer) is installed on the system. It doesn't even say that there's a codesign problem it just drops the error (translated from german:)

my mac book air can't start installation, because i use windows installation in DOS to make partion, now no mac os on it. How to get back the mac os? i have a window based iso image from a friend, because in my country there is no Apple service.
It sounds like you destroyed your boot partition and the recovery partition. Depending on it's age, your MacBook Air might be able to do a net boot. Plug and ethernet connection into it and attempt to boot. If it has the right firmware, it will find a net boot configuration on the net and boot that. Then it will give you a Recovery Partition like display and allow you to reinstall the OS X version that came with it.... assuming that it was Lion or ML. If your computer came with Snow Leopard, then even the net boot won't work.
At that point you need a bootable USB Key, or an external DVD drive AND a Snow Leopard installation DVD.
An Apple Store, if there is one nearby, MAY be able to get you going again. However, whatever is on the SSD now will be toast too. -
Iphoto won't display photos or run a slideshow - just a black screen. Can't see photos to edit etc. Thumbnails all OK and all else seems visible in the usual way etc. Tried rebuilding library and reset Mac Air but no result. Ideas please!!!!

When you rebuild the library did you rebuild the database? Also did you repair the library's permissions? Is this the First Aid window that you got?
Those are the two options to use.
Here's another fix you can try:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.>Click on the Add Library button,
2 - select the library you want to add from those in the selection window.
3 - make sure that in the rebuild window the checkbox "Scavange orphaned photos" is checked.
4 - now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
5 - in the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed. Click on the Create button.
Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note 2: Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.
You'll have to recreate your slideshow after using this method.
