AIR is corrupted in CS5

I can't access the photoshop CS5 help function. It give me a messages saying AIR is corrupted and needs to be reinstalled. I've reinstalled the program and still am not able to access it. Any suggestions?

You can try the following:
On Windows
Uninstall Adobe AIR Runtime from Control Panel -> Programs
It may throw up a warning that "there are applications that will not be able to run"
Ignore the warning and uninstall
Open the website http://get.adobe.com/air
Click on Download
Install the runtime
Test if help function works.
If not, uninstall "Adobe Help" from Control Panel -> Programs
Open the website http://www.adobe.com/support/chc
Choose Photoshop in product drop down
Click on Install
Your help function should work now.
On Mac
The only difference on Mac are highlighted for steps 1 and 8
Step 1: Uninstall Adobe AIR runtime using /Applications/Utilities/Adobe AIR Uninstaller
Step 8: Uninstall Adobe Help by trashing /Applications/Adobe/Adobe Help.app
Make sure to empty the files from your trash folder as well.

Corrupted InDesign CS5 files

Hi, I have a few corrupted indesign CS5 files - had to recover them from my laptop. However, now when I try to open them I get "corrupted file" "error 5". Does anyone know how I can open these.
I have tried opening as a copy etc, but to no avail. Thanks in advance.

Error Code 5 is basically a flatline.
You could try a service like Markzware, see if they recover your file by converting it to quark and back again (I know seems like a very wrong work flow).
But I've heard of this working in the past. I think they'll do the conversion for you and if it works you will need to pay the going rate for the files back (not 100% sure on how they work but that's my understanding)

Adobe AIR is Corrupt

It says the application cannot run, "Adobe AIR is corrupt".
My application does run; however, the user has to close the error
dialog.
I uninstalled Adobe AIR and my application and reinstalled
both. Still get the error message.
Any ideas?

My Air Runtime (1.5) is CORRUPT. I'm using OS X 10.5.6, do
develop in Flex Builder 3 (with sdk 3.0 & 3.2). No problems
untill now.
First, Tour de Flex stopped working, just doesn't open, hangs
for ever. Some smaller AIR Apps still do work fine. But the big
ones (the one i'm develping, for example) just doesn't, or works
very strangely. I couldn't uninstall it gracefully, but i could
only through terminal & sudo . But then the installer hangs
after "Elevated install completed". Then, i can't download any AIR
Apps, it hangs when it opens the AIR Application Installer.
Any advice is *strongly* appreciated.

Problem Creating Air File in DW CS5

Hi all,
I'm trying to create a AIR file with DW CS5 and I'm getting this error:
While executing onClick in AIRSettings.htm, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
At line 526 of file "C:\Documents and Settings\Untangle\Dati applicazioni\Adobe\Adobe Dreamwaver CS5\it_IT\Configuration\Shared\AdobeAIR\scripts\AIRUtilsClass.js": children[i].tagName has no properties.
Any advice?

I've solved the problem myself.
I've deleted the application.xml file created in previous tests than regenerated it by the DW interface.

Where's the Adobe AIR Extension for Dreamweaver CS5

I see only the Adobe AIR extension for Dreamweaver CS3 and CS4. Where's the AIR extension for Dreamweaver CS5?

I guess I need your help.
Since applying the AIR 2.7 SDK over the CS5 Flex 3.4 SDK, any attempt to debug results in the dreaded message:
D:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5\Players\FlashPlayer.exe
Flash Builder cannot locate the required debugger version of Adobe Flash Player. You might need to install the debugger version of the Flash Player or reinstall Flash Builder.
Do you want to try to debug with the current version?
What do I do to solve this?

Air SDK in Flash CS5

Hello,
I recently decided to test the air 2.6 capabilites, seeing as there was no option to package from flash cs5, so I decided to try my not so bright idea, which consisted in replacing the files in my AIK2.5 folder to the ones in the 2.6 folder (I made backups so I have all the original files). No biggy, but the only thing is that it didn't work. Now in flash cs5 I can't make a 2.5 air project and I cant change it in the publish settings, it no longer appears in the menu.
How can I add the air 2.5 option back in flash cs5?? I have tried reinstalling with no success.

Air Badge Corrupting application

Yep, well that Badge thing seems to be another of those Adobe, bugged filled idea, again!
Here's the deal....
Have my application.air file on my server.
Have a badge pointing to it and allowing to install it from webBrowser.
The badge works fine so i go and install my application... hey everything works! (sounds good eh... wait wait)
Start application to realize that my DB is duplicated !?#?! what did i do wrong?
1- review DB                       [no problem]
2- review app code              [no problem]
3- reinstall everything          [Problem!!!!!!!]
(after re-installation the Db is still duplicated...but not as many duplicate this time)
So wait! Everything is ok but each time you install the app(using the badge) different bug appears......???
we are getting somewhere, it must be the installation process....
Solution:
Install from the .AIR directly see if it it is indeed the Bage process that mess everything up or if it's the file that's corrupted.
you guess it, downloading the same file that the badge uses to install the app manually....problem disapear!!!?!?!?!?
now you tell me how to troubleshoot this?
Goolge is litter with that air-badger praising!!!
the files used by the badge have been tested and are all good!!!
Should i Just forget about the adobe air badges all together?

Thanks very much for getting back but the issue is resolved - I discovered
that I was passing 1.52 instead of 1.5.2 for the required air version
parameter. D'oh. Once that was set correctly the badge works fine.

Any known issues with TLF in AIR 2 from Flash CS5?

Hi,
We're creating an AIR 2 application in Flash CS5. Virtually all text is TLF text.
It's a CPU and RAM hog.
Saving the file as CS4, opening it in Flash CS5 and then generating an AIR 2 file works great, although, of course, we've lost all the TLF and the text needs some serious re-formatting.
The development environment is Mac Snow Leopard, with latest OS and Flash updates.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I've had similar oddities with Booting USB drives off several MBP's and am not sure there's a rational explanation of some of the oddities. (I have a twin cable and if one doesn't power it I stick the other plug in and it works 100% of the time)
FWIW This Mac's iSight shows 500/500 +when not in use+ (5,1) while the EyeTV Diversity and external Logitech camera also both show 500/500 - Bluetooth USB controller shows 500/0 even with 3 devices hanging off it ...

Color Space corruption in CS5 v.12.0.4

I have been having a great deal of trouble with colour instability since recent updates to CS5 also. Am running XP64, CS5 12.0.4, Camera Raw 6.4.1. I run Adobe RGB 1998 workflow from camera to printer.
Seems to be totally random result of some files returning an sRGB colour space and some returning AdobeRGB 1998 when converted to jpegs for printing. Same result for scanned images too, so it is not the camera. The 32bit version appears to be worse, but the 64 bit version does it too.
EXIF details in Bridge show Adobe RGB, but this is not the case when viewed with a hex editor. I processed the same two files (one a psd & the other a tiff) no less than seven times with totally random results. I could not return a pattern. Sometimes sRGB & sometimes Adobe!
The only way I can get around it is to include a new line in the action that sends the files to the print output folder which is: Edit/Convert to profile/AdobeRGB 1998. This seems to ensure me the result I need to print accurately.

I have a FLA that worked fine in CS5, I have copies of the file going back 6 months. Every file I open gives me this error: Could not load scene into memory. Your document may be damaged.
How could every fla I've backed up give the same error? They all worked fine in CS5. Does anyone know of a fix? Or do I have to go back to CS5?

I reinstalled Flash Pro CS5 and it opens up all my FLA's (of the same project) perfectly. But Flash Pro CS5.5 gives me this error: Could not load scene into memory. Your document may be damaged.
So is CS5.5 unusable?

AIR SQL corrupting DB....

Very simple and yet very weird....
For some reason when my DB is transcoded to AIRSQL file it leaves out some entries....
Under the column "Address" some entries don't get in the file.... it leaves a blank space instead of the address, and it looks random too.
- I have that with only 2 column in my 30 column DB. (random missing entries)
- Both column use chinese (under the 21mb Arial(Utf8*) font) *Don't remember exactly, but it's the only arial font allowing chinese characters...
- The working entries use both chinese/english/numbers (so we can dissmiss that as a problem)
- The Blank entries also use either just chinese or with numbers or with letters (so no real paterns)
What i see could be an issue.....
- If one or more chinese characters (IE. traditional over simplified) is not included in the arial(Utf8) font, could that cause a empty entry in AIRSQL DB? or a null return?
I will try to isolate characters from the missing entries and see if they show in other column or if my assumption above is right, Meanwhile any help on this would be appreciate.

Did adobe drop the badge idea already? I still see badge use widely in the AIR feild....But with all the worries about programInstal from browser and ActiveX issues.

Image Bands/Corruption in CS5 When Editing out of Aperture

Not sure whether this issue is related to Aperture or just Photoshop, but I'm seeing some strange behavior in Photoshop when I edit an image out of my Aperture library. Here are the steps I take to see the problem:
1. In Aperture (3.1.1) I right-click an image and choose Edit with Photoshop CS5. This creates a new version in PSD format for editing, since I maintain my images in an Aperture library.
2. The image opens in Photoshop but the image is distorted. I've attached an example:
Note that this issue goes away when I change the zoom factor from 33% to 100%.

OS X 10.6.5 (Snow Leopard)

If the issue should be hardware-related (bad RAM for example), then it might be difficult …

As with all unexplainable Photoshop-problems you might try trashing the prefs (after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed) by pressing command-alt-shift on starting the program or starting from a new user-account.
System Maintenance (repairing permissions, purging PRAM, running cron-scripts, cleaning caches, etc.) might also be beneficial, Onyx has been recommended for such tasks.

Weeding out bad fonts never seems to be a bad idea, either. (Validate your fonts in Font Book and remove the bad ones.)
If 3rd party plug-ins are installed try disabling them to verify if one of those may be responsible for the problem.

How to fix corrupted Flash cs5 Project?

I should have known better than to attempt to copy MovieClips from a Flash cs4 project that got converted into a Flash cs5 project, I copied a couple MovieClips to my flash cs5 project and then it asked me if I want to overwrite the components or not. I choose not to the first time, then I got tons of warnings and so I tried again, this time I overwrite when prompted.
Then after the save, flash cs5 crashed. "An error occured while opening the file". "flash cannot parse this file" error. My client doesn't want me showing any of this project to any third parties and I'm upset and so is he that this could happen.
