Air print in iOS 7 is not finding previously identified hp printers

Airprint under iOS 7 is failing to recognize previously identified HP printers. It has seen the printer on occassion, appears to recognized the scanner component, but then it has dissappeared, with no apparent reason. They are just not being seen and held. I have tried all the standard tricks. Reinstalled drivers. Turned off the various devices, printers, etc., in different sequences then reintroduced them, yadda, yadda, yadda... I have not cleaned out anything of the iOS that may have lingered such as some type of plist thingy, as that is a morass I don't really want to get into. Clearly a change in the iOS and how it finds AirPrint Printers, and holds on to them. Any suggestions on how to make it stick.

I see you're experiencing some issues since updating to iOS 7 on your Apple device and are now having issues with Airprint. I will certainly do my best to help you get this to stick! I have a document here that will walk you through quite a few different steps for any Airprint issues (it may appear to be for a specific printer, but it will work for any printer).
If you reach the end of that document and are still having the same issues I'd like you to look through this document as well, as it has a few different steps.
If after both documents your issue remains the same, you may have to try using the ePrint feature as opposed to Airprint until Apple releases an update to iOS 7. If you're not sure what ePrint is or how to set it up, click here and this document will get you in the right direction.

new comp. running windows 7. i've downloaded driver updates, cd for printer... HP diagnostic tool etc. turned every device off including router, modem, and rebooted. reset router to defaults. now for some reason printer not finding wireless router in NEW network name wheni run wireless wizard from printer. says no link on printer. on new comp says printer disconnected. diagnostic tool says incompatible with windows 7. have downloaded updates from HP as of december. wireless network test says fail under wireless working. all other comps in house can get on wireless internet. attempted to manually type in routers info... ip address etc... still says no link on printer. did the routerlogin.com for my netgear router thats 3 years old....for ip's etc...

First, let's make sure the printer is OK. From the front of the printer: Setup > Network > Wireless Network Test. Does it pass all its tests?
Next, in the same Network menu, Reset Network Defaults.
Now, if all that goes well, from the same Network menu run Wireless Setup WIzard.

The hp printer control app can not find my eprint email.

I have an iPad 2 and I've installed the hp printer control app on it. The app can not find my eprint email which I've typed in several times. I have checked the eprint email on the printer control panel to make sure it is the correct eprint email. The printer is a office pro 8600.

Air print on iPad does not connect to officejet pro 8600 plus

My macbook prints fine wirelessly to our hp officejet pro 8600 plus with an arris TC862 router. IPad, however, will not. Is there an easy fix that will not disrupt my computer's wireless connection because I did not find it easy to set up, so don't really want to redo that connection. bluetooth is off and ipad and printer are on same network.

Hi,
You may have already tried this but try restarting your apple device - It's a simple fix that sometimes helps re-establish the connection to the printer.
Other things to check would be that there have been no recent changes to the wifi password.

Printing in iOS is not good

Printing in iOS is rediculous. Why can't you print to a shared printer? Why do you have to install extra software to expose a printer? Why can you print to any printer with a third app but not natively?
Sort it out Apple.

iOS devices use the AirPrint protocol for printing. Any printer that supports AirPrint can print directly from your iPad. A list of AirPrint supported printers are here

Air Print with iOS 7

I am unable to use Air Print since getting my iPhone 5s and also cannot use it with my iPad since upgrading to ver 7.0. Has anyone else had this problem?

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

Time Machine can not find previous backup

Please help. I have done a full backup on Jan 26, but I can not find this date in the time travel window and Finder. I haven't change the user name. It just somehow has gone. I sure that the files should be somewhere inside the hard drive since it has taken away 60 GB. What can I do?

If you are trying to see your purchase history then you should be able to do that on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) drop-down menu.
If you are wanting to re-download past purchases then not all content types can be re-downloaded in all countries (e.g. music, films, tv shows can't be re-downloaded in all, and audiobooks and ringtones can't be re-downloaded anywhere), but what you can re-download whould show in the Purchased tab in the iTunes and App Store apps, and via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.

Printer settings menu does not always change when switching printers

I am running OS 10.3.9 and also seen this issue on a 10.4 machine. When switching from one printer to another the printer options drop down menu does not always transfer to the correct menu for the newly selected printer. It stays at the menu for the last used printer. I am using several different Sharp printers as well as some HP models. The applications being used are Office 10 Word and Power Point. If anyone has seen this and has a fix I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't have a solution but have also noticed that the printer in the menu is sort of like spinning the wheel of fortune.
Hopefully there is a solution but my guess is that it has something to do with a printer preference file that can get hijacked by different printers and applications.
I have noticed that a printer driver when installed will usually appear as the default printer even if it was not selected as such. I have also notice that different applications will do different things with different printers so I hope someone has a solution.

HT3275 could not find previous back ups that where there before only giving me one date

I can not see my previous back ups that I have been doing for the past year. The last time I went to back up it said i had no space left but knew that I had. All other back ups had gone except for one. I have a lot of images from my desktop over the past few months that I cnt find now.

I rebooted my system, then reset my Time Machine backup disk (to the same disk I've been using for the last year).

Cannot print to PDF - could not find resource file

Using Adobe Acrobat 8.1.4 Pro on Windows XP SP3
I've printed to the Adobe PDF printer a few week ago without problem
Now, when try to print, I get this:
Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files.
c:\documents and settings\jsmith\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings\[]
(the brackets are really a square box that shows up)
The box says: Yes / No
If I click yes, it spends 15 minutes "installing" something and wants a reboot. That does not fix the problem.
I've removed Adobe completely, rebooted. Reinstalled Adobe, still same problem.
I do have a directory of:
\Settings where it is looking, but the directory is empty.
I can EXPORT to PDF just fine
I can open Firefox/IE and "print to" the Adobe PDF printer and that works fine.

the memory is 8 G Ram. I only have office 365, Acrobat X1 pro, Gimp, and Inkscape installed. The problem was there before I installed the last two.
I posted on Microsoft as well and the response was that since I could print the document on regular printer without any issues, then it is an Adobe issue. Using the toolbar is pdfing the full document. That takes a very, very, long time besides at the end of it, many pages are blank in the pdf file and then it is a matter of restarting the computer, re-pdfing until I am tired. So I print the pages incrementally. Any other way to pdf select pages without any problems?

Printing to PS does not retain previous file location

I have just upgraded from CS3.
My workflow when preparing files for the printer is to print to postscript file, then use distiller to convert the file to pdf for sending.
CS3 retained the file location, so that each time I performed the same action, it went straight to the previous folder where the postscript file (for the current AI file) was created.
Now, in CS6, it takes me back to 'My Computer' (equivalent in Windows 7) every time... which is really, really frustrating to have to re-navigate back to the same server path every time I output the file. (Which I do a lot as I do final checks and proofing within acrobat, so need to perform this process frequently).
I have Win7 64Bit.

I have been using Windows 7 for a year or so with CS3. This issue only arose with the upgrade to CS6..
Ok, just tested the process again in CS3 - it is session specific. I.e. when I go Print -> save to Postscript file, it presents the last file location used.
So, if I am running the process multiple times, it is awlays in that last folder used.
If I shut down Illustrator and open another file, it still presents that last folder used, but again, once I have set to the new working folder, it presents that location on subsequent processes.
However, with CS6, every time, even within the same session, it always defaults to the 'my computer' folder.

If you use an ANE, such as Milkman Games GoViral, you can share an image in a way that brings up the normal iOS6/7 share dialog. One of the options in there is to AirPrint.
At the moment though, that share dialog is crashing under iOS 7. I need to check if there is a recent update to the ANE!
