AIR runtime for PowerPC MAC

Hi,
I am running PowerPC MAC and I want to install AIR runtime. The latest one is 2.0.2 but in documentation I read that it doesn't support old PowerPC processor and I must install AIR runtime of 1.5 version. But anyway if I go to http://get.adobe.com/air it redirect me to http://get.adobe.com/air/otherversions and there is only 2.0.2 version available.
How can I get old 1.5 version?

thanks for tip but unfortunately it doesn't succeed to instal AIR runtime even from link you offered.
There is message "Starting instal...." but that's all what it did.
I tried it on two different PowerPC G5 machimes with the same OS: MAC OS X 10.4.11 but with the same result
Any other idea what's wrong?

the Flash CS5 extension for Android, or downloaded the 2.5 SDK itself, I

but most of user don't have Air Runtime package on their phones and we must embed this in publish
unfortunately the size of adobe air runtime is about 8 MB ! and with slow internet it take long time to download the apps , and even for getting this apps with Bluetooth
is there any chance to reduce size of Adobe Air Runtime ?
or create various version of Air runtime , for example in most project we don't need play video or sound ...

This has been asked before several times. I doubt you will get a procedure from NI on how to do this since the run-time engine is intended to be a collection of libraries to be used by various types of LabVIEW apps.
That said, it doesn mean that users haven't tried to figure out how to do it. Note: I do not recommend this practice nor can I speak to its effectiveness since I've never tried it.

Numerous problems with the Adobe AIR runtime for Android

I created a app on the platform Adobe AIR for Android, which requires for AIR. The app is very popular in the Android Market, but many users complain of problems with the installation of Adobe Air runtime.
For example these phones users: LGE LG-P698, LG Pecan, HTC Wildfire. But judging by the fact that users have access to the installation of Air, their phones are compatible with it.
Tell me how do I solve the problem?
In addition, I have a few questions:
1. Decides whether the problem of export application with embedded AIR runtime?
2. I build my apps with the help of ADT. How in this case to make embeding AIR runtime?
3. Is it possible to prompt the user to download and install older versions of AIR? Where to find its?

How do I get Air runtime for the android emulator

All the links I have found say you can download it after signing up for the pre-release; however, that is no longer viable as it is not pre-release anymore. I cannot find anywhere to download the apk file anymore... and I need to get it on the emulator.

I am still digging ... means I still look for the best way to install a Flex/Air combo that will allow me to develop Air Apps for Android (using a Maven based dev env - flex-mojo), means I actually do NOT want to install or use Flash Builder or Flash Professional CS5 or ... whatever.
So here is what I found out (the result of 3 days of work (elapse time)).
To get a Flex/Air SDK up and running you need to ...
Download the Flex SDK (e.g. 4.1.0.16076) from http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Download+Flex+4This will NOT contain an/the AIR SDK (and that means also no runtimes)
Download the Air SDK (e.g. 2.5.1) from http://www.adobe.com/products/air/sdk/
Copy the Air SDK over the Flex SDK as described here http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/495/cpsid_49532.htmlNote: Make sure that the Air SDK is newer than the Flex SDK. Otherwise the Flex SDK might use features of the Air SDK that are not present in the Air SDK and that might result in compile or runtime errors. I was not able to find a definition of "newer", but assume that Air 2.5 is newer than Flex 4.1

Is there a Flash Player 10 Debugger version for PowerPC Macs?

At http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html in the debugger version section, I see only content debugger for Intel-based Macs. My main development system is a PowerPC Mac.
I see a link below that titled "Flash Player 10 Projector content debugger" but no explanation of what "Projector" means. I am hesitant to install this since it appears different than other debuggers and I have had a lot of trouble with losing connectivity to FP debuggers in the past.
Is there any way for me to debug my project with FP10?

Internet Explorer options for PowerPC Mac

I needed another computer at work strictly for internet browsing, so I decided I could save a few bucks by upgrading my old, dust-gathering 1st gen mac mini (powerpc) to 1 gig ram and OS 10.4.11 (instead of buying a new desktop). However, there is a crucial website that I need to use for work, but it operates only on an IE browser (version 5.5 or better). Do I have any options either with bootcamp, or some other software? thanks

Use Virtual PC or the Q emulator. Boot Camp, Parallels Desktop, VMware Fusion, and CrossOver Mac will only run on an Intel Mac.

Need codec for powerpc mac

I have an early iMac G5 with the Powerpc processor, therefore the new Snow Leopard cannot be used. Some of my videos (.avi) will only play with sound and no video. I am trying to find a codec which will work. All that I have seen and tried (i.e DivX 7) will only work with the Intel processor. Can anyone suggest where I can download one that might work?

Backward compatibility for installers when switching to bundled (aka captive) Air runtime

The non-bundled versions of the installers for desktop Air applications on Mac have the nice feature of ensuring that multiple versions of the same app cannot exist on the system. When a new version of the app comes along, the installer removes the old one as part of the upgrade. I've also noticed that if you attempt to install the same version of the same Air application, Air offers the option of simply uninstalling the existing version (a roundabout way of exposing an uninstall of an Air app).
We are thinking about switching over to using a bundled Air runtime for our product, which means that we have to write our own installer for Mac. However, we need to be able to detect if a previous, non-bundled version of our Air app exists on the system, and if so, uninstall it before placing the new version down.
How does Air keep track of what's been installed on the Mac? Does it expose an API that we could call from within our custom installer to uninstall a specific non-bundled desktop Air application? If not, does Air maintain installed app location data in a way that an outsider could possibly consume?
On Windows, I see that Air just makes use of the MSI database, so we're all set there. But on Mac, I don't know how to proceed.

MacOSX AIR Permissions for non-administrator user folders

We're making final changes to our installer for PowerPC Macs, which cannot get the fixes in Adobe AIR 2.7.
What are the ownership AND permissions expected to be for normal Adobe AIR operation in the following user folders?
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AIR
~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/www.macromedia.com/
/Users/Shared/Library/Application Support/Adobe
We would like to know if it is advisable to apply the permissions fixes to user folders other than those under the administrator user. Neither the AIR Install Repair.zip posted on the forums nor the MacOSX Adobe AIR 2.7 Installer logs show that any user folders other than those under the administrator user are modified.

Fwiw, the reason we had to fix up permissions was due to beta versions of past Creative Suite installers (the shipping installers were corrected.) As far as I know, the only folders effected were the ones we corrected in the installer and I addressed in the script.

Issues installing AIR runtime on OS X

I've been trying to install AIR runtime on my mac for some
time now without any luck. Running the installer gives me an error
asking me to contact the administrator (saying installation may not
be allowed by admin)

Does the directory /Library/Frameworks/Adobe AIR.framework
exist on your machine? If so, I recommend removing it and trying
again--the log file suggests you might have a broken install lying

How to auto update AIR runtime when installing with native installer?

Hi, we recently changed our app to a native installer for both Windows and OS X.
It seemed that when we distributed a .air file the install process would upgrade the installed version of the AIR runtime (if necessary) before installing our application.
Now it seems that if AIR is installed with an old version (say 2.5) and the native installer app is installed (requiring AIR 3.0) an error message appears that says "Sorry, an error has occurred. The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author".
My question is how can we have our native installer bring the user's version of the AIR runtime to the minimum required (3.0) or the latest version (3.6)?
The error message displayed to the user does not provide meaningful info.

Hi Chris, thank you for the response. I've spent quite a bit of time browsing the forum and you're sort of a celebrity to me ;-)
The "installer damaged" error message is happening on the first install of our application with older version of the AIR runtime. The app is using the nativeapplicatoinupdater ( http://code.google.com/p/nativeapplicationupdater/ ) project for updates (which is working great once the app is installed).
I performed a few tests on OS X (10.8.2) this evening and here are my results.
AIR 1.5: app install dialog with option to download AIR 3.6 is shown. INSTALL OK
AIR 2.04.: app install dialog with option to download AIR 3.6 IS NOT shown. INSTALL FAILS
AIR 2.5.: app install dialog with option to download AIR 3.6 IS NOT shown. INSTALL FAILS
AIR 2.6: app install dialog with option to download AIR 3.6 is shown. INSTALL OK
AIR 2.7: app install dialog with option to download AIR 3.6 is shown. APP INSTALL OK
So it seems the problem is with AIR 2.04 and 2.5. I uninstalled and reinstalled the AIR runtime for each test. I can consistently reproduce the failed install with 2.04 and 2.5. The same DMG file was used in each test. I have seen similar error messages on Windows 7 when AIR 2.5 was installed, though I didn't get a chance to look at the log to confirm it's the same migration error.
The failed installs seem to drop out because of: "failed while validating native package: Error: invalid migration signature".
Tomorrow I can create a version without the migration certificate to see if it can be successfully installed on 2.04 and 2.5. It's "interesting" that the other versions of the runtime do not fail on this condition.

Air 3 for Linux

i m trying to get my hand on Air3 runtime for Linux, as it fixes a lot of graphic refresh issues, i know Adobe do not support it but i thought third parties did.
This link says it does but it's actually 2.6

We use Adobe Robohelp do generate Airhelp and our 500 + employees are all using Linux.
I have no problem with Adobe stopping further Air for Linux dev... But they could at least let us package the runtime rpm ourselves...
The press release mentionned that only 1 percent of their Air runtime download was for Linux ! They forgot to mention that this 1 percent was their largest clients.
We use to download 1 rpm, and later on installed it on 500 machines...
Will the Air source code only accessible to mobile partners ?

Apple support for PowerPC users

So I'm at a point where I may by a Leopard family pack for my PowerBook and PowerMac G4s. I see, however, that Apple is releasing Snow Leopard for the Intel crowd. Do you think there will be more big releases for PowerPC Macs or will we just get updates to OSX 10.5? I mean, I don't want to spend $239 on a Family pack box set and they release Lynx 10.6 for us or something.

Speculation on this board is not permitted. Please read terms of use on the right. Your question asks for speculation. What is known is that Snow Leopard won't work on your PowerPC Macs, according to the official word here:

Apple has always in the past also bundled the current operating system with new machines.
Also your G4s should be 867 Mhz or faster to use Leopard, and have at least 512 MB of RAM, and 9 GB of free hard disc space (24 GB is preferable for 100 GB or larger hard drives)
If they aren't you can't use Leopard on those machines.
Before upgrading to Leopard, make sure you consider what you need to consider for every upgrade*:

Leopard doesn't support Classic, but a dual-partition Leopard/Tiger, or dual hard drive (one being Firewire, or IDE, or SATA in G5s) with Tiger on the second drive, will allow you to keep Classic. Mac OS 9 booting if available to your Mac, will persist through a Leopard upgrade. To figure out the difference, see my FAQ*:
