i always use secure CRT but when i changed to hypterterminal i got a console response.
could someone enlighten me why this AP works on hyperterm?

AIR-SAP1602I After convert to LAP, No radio interface
Hello,
Our AIR-SAP1602I is running ap1g2-k9w7-tar.152-4.JB6.tar and working normally.
Now, we covert AIR-SAP1602I from autonomous to lightweight which is running ap1g2-rcvk9w8-tar.152-4.JB6.tar to join C3850. (It will be joined then not-joined repeatedly)
After converting, we compare AIR-SAP1602I to another AIR-CAP1602I (It's working perfect with C3850 at this present) and find something strange via "show version" and "show capwap client rcb"
Can someone tell us how to solve this problems, thanks !!!

Cisco AIR-SAP1602I-A-K9 password recovery
Hi all.
I have acquired a used AIR-SAP1602I-A-K9 that came with a existing configuration and a secret password.
I have tried to search the web for a guide on howto reset the password / reset factory default so i can clear config and
set a new password. I find a bunch for routers by changing the registry but nothing for AP specific, but i wonder if the procedure is the same?
Anyways i tried to boot the device and break its boot sequence, ctrl + break (didnt work), ctrl + c (didnt work). But i have not gotten far in my
endevour to get control of the device.
Anyone who can share a word of wisdom with me, will be meet with appreciation.
Thanks on advance. Thanks for your solution, but it seems not to work for my device.
the first time, i did two fommands "delete flash...." that's ok, but cannot boot. and the next times it shows:

I want to use acces point air sap1602i e k9 first times i need default ip adress
hi
i want to use acces point air sap1602i e k9 first times i need default ip adress to setup
it is possible if not give me please solutionHello fouadissam,
You can connect to the AP with a console cable and enter show ip interface brief, which will display the ip address.
If its connected to a network you can log into your switch and enter show arp | i xxxx.xxxx.xxxx(mac address of the AP).
The below link points to a configuration guide that may be helpful.

WEP is no longer treated as "SECURE". So move away from using WEP. Use WPA2-PSK instead.
Here is a very basic sample configuration with single SSID

Setting a password for user access on AIR-SAP1602I-A-K9 running 15.2(2)JB2
I am trying to assist a group with setting up their AIR-SAP1602I-A-K9 stand alone WAPs. I would like to know how to set a password for clients to access the wireless network through these units. I have been spoiled with our controller based WLAN.
If you are doing it from the CLI
dot11 ssid Test
authentication open
authentication wpa version 2
wpa-psk ascii 0 "your key here"
Interface Dot111Radio 0|1
encryption mode ciphers aes-ccm
ssid Test
If you call a VLAN under the SSID, then you need to call a VLAN with the encryption statement under the radio interfaces.
If you are doing this from the GUI:

Install and configure AIR-SAP1602E-A-K9 via web interface
While setting up the AIR-SAP1602E-A-K9 using a web browser, the AP managed to take the IP address of another device.
You will need some type of software to find out what is on your network or be able to get into your router and access the DHCP list and see what is new. Once you know the IP you can access the AP.Please check the below link which can helpful:

Install and configure AIR-SAP1602E-A-K9
Hello,
Can someone please help me in guiding out as to how do we install the SAP1602E without using the controllers as all the install guides are talking about controller based installations but my whole purpose of going with SAP unit was to do standalone installs and then bridge 2 AP that I bought.
Thanks in Advance.Hi,
Configuration pretty much remain same irrespective of the AP model. Here is a simplest configuration you can do if it is for single SSID
hostname !dot11 ssid authentication open authentication key-management wpa version 2 guest-mode wpa-psk ascii !interface Dot11Radio0encryption mode ciphers aes-ccmssid no shutdown!interface Dot11Radio1encryption mode ciphers aes-ccmssid no shutdown!interface BVI1ip address dhcp
If you want multiple SSID, then refer the previous thread, as it has given an example for that as well

AP-AIR1261N-E-K9 vs AIR-SAP1602I-E-K9 about performance and price
Hi you.
I have project wifi to Hotel.I see spec of SAP1602I than AIR1261 but price less. Why?
Please help me clear this.
ThanksI think I answered you question in another post, but the 1602 is a low end access point and the materials cost less than what the 1262 model uses. This is to make the 1602 more competitive with other vendors access points.

CIsco AIR-SAP1602E - transmitter power error
Hi,
Because of end-of-life of the wireless AP 1140 series, we decided to switch to the 1600 series.
We have now several AIR-SAP-1602E devices which show the same behaviour:
On the web interface, there is an error indicated for the transmitter power (see screenshot attached).
Question: Is this a known issue (bug in the interface?,...) or is there actually something wrong.
Output power is measured to be about 3db lower than compared with the 1142.
Attached are the supported dual band Cisco Antenna's.
Regards,
Dimitri HofmanHello,
As per your query i can suggest you the following data sheet-
Maximum Total Transmit Power
2.4 GHz
• 802.11b
• 22 dBm (3 antennas enabled)
• 802.11g
• 22 dBm (3 antennas enabled)
• 802.11n (HT20)
• 22 dBm (3 antennas enabled)
5 GHz
• 802.11a
• 22 dBm (3 antennas enabled)
• 802.11n non-HT duplicate mode
• 22 dBm (3 antennas enabled)
• 802.11n (HT20)
• 22 dBm (3 antennas enabled)
• 802.11n (HT40)

Hope this will help you. -
Wireless lightweight Conversion AIR SAP 1602
Hi, we have serveral AIR-SAP1602I-E-K9 access points which are currently working in standalone mode, we now have a 2504 Wireless LAN controller so is it possible to convert the AIR-SAP1602I-E-K9 to lightweight mode?
Yes you can. Make sure you have atleast 7.4.100.0 version on WLC to support 1602 AP.
1. For the LWAP conversion, use the recovery image. First download the rcvk9w8 software from this link.
2. Next you copy the IOS from your TFTP server to your AP.
3. The command, must be entered on the AP, is: archive download-sw /over tftp:///<image name>
check these procedure:

i don't think it's a cable issue. correction on the working AP, it's supposed to be a AIR-SAP1602E.
this AP is working on the 3650.
i've searched and i think the AIR-AP1231 isn't supported on this switch platform.

Simple but reliable small office setup
Hi group,
I need some advice on setting up a simple but reliable small office wireless network. Up until now, we had a consumer AP combined with wired connections. However, we're moving to a new office where it's difficult to implement a wired network and we decided to implement a good quality wireless network.
So, I was looking into business quality wireless AP's and it looks as if the Aironet 1600 is an interesting option. However, I'm not a (wireless) network specialist and have no knowledge of controlled AP's.
The office is (only) 278 square meters (24 x 11.6), divided in two main areas by a supporting wall with two large doorways. I would like to keep the setup costs to a minimum, ideally using only 1 AP. This might mean placing the AP on the ceiling near the dividing wall (which is roughly in the middle), or on the wall itself.
We need to support fast wireless connections from 15 laptop computers now, and up to 25 in the near future. Also, we'd like to support 15-25 mobile devices, i.e. tablets or smart phones.
I've found some info on the differences between the AIR-CAP1602 and AIR-SAP1602 models, as well as the Internal and External antenna versions. It seems to me we could use the Standalone (SAP1602) model. However, I don't have enough knowledge to determine if the Aironet 1600 is actually appropriate for our requirements and if yes, which model.
I would very much appreciate your advice!A 1600 would work or even a 2600. I prefer the 2600/3600 though but cost is your concern. I would also place the AP on the ceiling but belies the ceiling maybe in the middle if possible. Don't place the AP above the ceiling because you will loose coverage. Internal antennas are fine and just to note, rule of thumb is 25 users per AP so just in case you need more throughput, maybe using two separated by 3-5 meters would help also. If the 1600's are the choice for you then look at having one or two APs.
