AIR Sqlite Version Update

Will there ever be a sqlite version update in the AIR SDK?  I don't have any legitimate reasons, but the version in the Adobe AIR 14 SDK ("2010-12-07 20:14:09 a586a4deeb25330037a49df295b36aaf624d0f45") is from 2010.  I can't help but think there must be some significant changes in the nearly 4 years since it was first included.

After getting nowhere here and receiving canned email responses from support
I've done a little digging on the SQLite site.
For those interested it looks like Adobe Air's implementation of SQLite in 2.0beta is closest
to a version released between2009 Jan 12 (3.6.8)
Added support for nested transactions
and
2009 Oct 14 (3.6.19)
Foreign Key support was added.

  • AIR Runtime version comparison / updating

    Question #1: Is there any built in function, that could
    compare AIR runtime versions. I know the current runtimeversion
    that the user has, and I know the version that I developed for. Now
    I would like to make sure that the user has the same or newer
    version of the runtime.
    I can split the runtime version by the periods and compare
    each chunk seperatly, byt maybe there is some function in AIR that
    would handle it for me?
    Question #2: How to update the air runtime? Should I
    air.navigateToUrl() the user to :
    http://www.adobe.com/go/EN_US-H-GET-AIR
    or
    http://get.adobe.com/air/?promoid=BUIGQ
    and quit the app?

    If it will be of any help to anyone, I came up with this for
    now:
    // Returns false if v2 is greater than v1
    // v1,v2 - version numer, period separated, ie. "1.1.0.7876"
    function compareVerions(v1,v2)
    v1 = v1.split(".");
    v2 = v2.split(".");
    if (v1.length>v2.length) var cnt = v2.length-1; else var
    cnt = v1.length-1;
    for (var i=0; i<=cnt; i++) {
    var elV1 = parseInt(v1
    var elV2 = parseInt(v2);
    if ( elV1>elV2 ) return true;
    if ( elV1<elV2 ) return false;
    return true;

  • SQLite version - AIR 1.0 vs 1.5 vs 2.0

    I've come to understand that AIR uses its own built-in version of SQLite but
    it's been hard to grasp what version is being used in each AIR version?
    Has there been any upgrades to the SQLite version from 1.0 to 1.5 to 2.0beta?
    I did notice that Nested Transactions are supported in the latest version but haven't
    found any other changes - and it appears that the SQLite documentation still indicates
    no support for Foreign Keys.
    Thanks for any documentation pointers or version correlation you can provide.

  • "SQlite Version Error The application has been updated, but your version of SQlite is too old and the application cannot run." What is this all about?? Shall I give up on Firefox?

    When I tried to use Firefox this morning I got this message with exclamation marks.
    "SQlite Version Error The application has been updated, but your version of SQlite is too old and the application cannot run."
    What is this all about?? Shall I give up on Firefox?

    Sorry to hear that. I understand your frustration and I hope they send back a better working N78-3.
    Myself, I count myself lucky. Everything works perfectly for me right now...email, bluetooth, maps, gps, 3rd party apps, battery life, 3G, wifi, etc. etc.
    The only issue I've been having is the dreaded reboots but I believe that may have to do with 3rd party apps. I recently uninstalled Google Search app from my N78 and since then it hasn't rebooted or shown any issues. This seems odd at first but makes sense if you think about the fact that the Google Search app loads itself into memory and runs in the background at all times.
    I did this this past Tuesday night and so far no reboots, crashes or any problems. I'm sure I just jinxed myself but I've been using it heavily over the last few days with no issues. Prior to this, it would usually reboot every 2 days. If it doesn't reboot for another few days I'll be happy.
    I would normally not stand for this but I just love the phone and if I got something else it'd probably be the iPhone 3G which has perhaps more software bugs and issues than the N78-3!!
    Best of luck. Here's hoping they release an update soon.

  • Question:- How to update the Adobe Air Application Version.?

    Question:- How to update the Adobe Air Application Version.?

    Change the namespace declaration in the application descriptor.
    For example, to update version 1.0 to 1.5, change:

    to:
    <application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/1.5"

  • Adobe AIR 1.5 Update success unclear

    After installing the Adobe AIR 1.5 Update for Fireworks CS4
    on my Mac OS X 10.5.6 machine, the installed version of Fireworks
    is still set at 10.0.0.495. This version string appears in the both
    the About box and in the Finder Get Info window, despite the fact
    that the installer window displayed that it was installing Adobe
    Fireworks CS4 10.0.1.
    How can I determine that the install worked?
    As a sidenote, I find the entire installer to be very
    non-intuitive to use for a Mac user: the installer does not use the
    standard Mac install process, the installer is named "Setup.app"
    with no indication what it is, the installer script is hard coded
    to look for an application folder named "Adobe Fireworks CS4"
    (which breaks if you've renamed the folder), the user is prompted
    for a password before being told what it is doing, multiple
    applications launch as part of the install process resulting in two
    applications named Setup appearing in the Dock, the Quit option in
    the application menu bar is greyed out and the quit button is
    labelled "Exit". Things like this impact perceived quality of
    product.

    The update will not affect the splash screen or About Page
    version number.
    For a quick check you can try creating an AIR package or an
    AIR preview. If everything works smooth then the installation would
    have been a success.
    The other details related to installation on a Mac should be
    seen on all other Adobe app and not restricted to Fireworks alone.
    Thanks

  • Using 3.6 version, updated this morning no bookmarks, restored them but bring it up and no bookmarks again?

    Using 3.6 version, updated this morning no bookmarks, restored them but bring it up and no bookmarks again?
    I restarted my computer after re installing my bookmarks from my desktop but the bookmarks are not showing up when I bring up a new browser window. Was working last night and this morning it had an update then the bookmarks disappeared. How do I get the bookmarks to come back up when bringing up a new browser window?

    In Firefox 3.6 and later on Windows you can hide the "Menu Bar" via "View > Toolbars" or via the right-click context menu on a toolbar.
    Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
    Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the "Menu Bar" or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).

  • How to setup air help auto-update

    RH8 HTML.
    Im fiddling around with the AIR Help file and trying to get the auto update working.
    So far I have the comments syncing perfectly across users with a shared folder on our network.
    I'm now publishing the air file to a shared folder again where everyone can get the  file and where the update.xml file is sitting.
    so I have this looking structure.
    \\networkdrive\Adobe_AIR\Generic_AIR\AdobeAIRApplication\Help File.air
    \\networkdrive\Adobe_AIR\Generic_AIR\AdobeAIRApplication\Help_Update.xml
    I set everything in RH Air output to publish to these folders, and I can see the newest files each time I do, I change the version numbers from 1.28 to 1.29, and this is reflected in the update.xml file where the version number has changed.
    but when I go into the actual instaleld 1.28 version and use the Check Now feature to look for the latest 1.29 which has over written the 1.28 files in the shared folder, it finds nothing.
    I cant find any way to manually point to where the update should be found.....do the update files have to sit in the same install directory or something? How does this work....aarrrgghhh
    Is there another things I'm not doing?
    Thanks.

    Hi Nick
    Good to hear that you are looking into AIR and Comment syncing is working fine.
    Regarding the AIR auto update feature, you need to do the following
    While generating the AIR file, you need to specify the update XML file location in AIR Help SSL generation option shown in the image below.
    Now install this AIR file, and update the update.xml file and new version of AIR file, and it should work fine.
    So the point is the installed air file need to know where to look for the update.xml file, it can be shared folder or a website.
    Hope this will help you.

  • AIR app silent updater

    Hi im trying to figure out how I can update a .air app silently.
    I have these command lines to install air and the app silently...
    Command line install adobe air silently and allows air to update online if available
    & "c:\AdobeAIRInstaller.exe" -silent -pingbackAllowed
    install the actual air app
    & "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe AIR\Versions\1.0\Adobe AIR Application Installer.exe" -silent -location "C:\" "silientTester.air"
    But now Im trying to update silientTester.air silently.
    You can not just run... & "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe AIR\Versions\1.0\Adobe AIR Application Installer.exe" -silent -location "C:\" "silientTester.air"
    ..again as the documenation points out that...
    "You cannot use the silent installer option to update an installed AIR application. This is because the AIR installer
    cannot determine whether the version to be installed is newer than the installed version, and it would pose a
    security risk to downgrade the application."
    So any ideas on how I could install silientTester.air again .. but It needs to be silient as its a kiosk.
    Do I uninstall and reinstall silently?? surly not!
    Thanks
    Aidan

    ok I think ive sorted this using something along the lines of...
    //var updater:Updater = new Updater();
    //var airFile:File = File.desktopDirectory.resolvePath("silientTester.air");
    //var version:String = "2.0";
    //updater.update(airFile, version);
    I do have another question though...
    when using this command to install air silently....
    & "c:\AdobeAIRInstaller.exe" -silent –pingbackAllowed
    pingbackAllowed  will allow it to check for air runtime updates?
    If there is an update will it install that silently as well?

  • RoboHelp's air installers no longer install with AIR 4.0 update?

    Has anyone else encountered this issue?
    After updating to AIR 4.0.0.1390, our RH air help installers no longer work. This includes .air help from 2 - 3 years ago, which have installed fine all these years, all the way up to a recent .air file we created for an upcoming release. This problem occurs on both Mac and Win, with the US version of AIR and the Chinese version of AIR, and it's a critical problem for us. Now when you double-click the .air file to install the help, you get this message:
    "Sorry, an error has occurred. The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author."
    Well, the application author is us. But this isn't a problem that we can fix, because it happened with the AIR 4.0 update.
    Version 3.8 of AIR works fine. Version 3.9 broke our context-sensitive help on the Mac (bug 3648177, filed in Oct, not that it did us any good). Now version 4.0 has broken our air help completely. We are transitioning to HTML5 help but not quickly enough, it seems.
    Can anyone confirm that the same thing happens?
    Thank you,
    Alexandra

    Here is the current status of this problem. I am going into detail in case this helps anyone else in a similar situation.
    Five years ago, I created my first AIR help file and I used a self-signed certificate without a timestamp. Had I read Peter Grainge's info, I would have used a timestamp, but Adobe's help says "Select to include a timestamp on the digital certificate. The timestamp provides information on how long the certificate is valid." Since I thought the certificate would always be valid, I didn't know this was important.
    Fast forward five years. I've created many, many .air help files in many languages, all using the same certificate that I originally created. Thousands of customers have these help files installed, and their certificates have all expired. No one can install or reinstall these help files now.
    Our installer engineer worked hard to find a way to extend the certificates. However, it appears that even though I have the latest version of AIR (4.0) on my system, RoboHelp *may* be using AIR 1.5 to create the .air files, even in RH 11 (this is not confirmed by Adobe but in the output, the HelpViewer-app.xml file indicates that this is true). This is important, because apparently AIR certificates after AIR 1.5.3 have a grace period which allows them to be extended. Certificates from AIR earlier than that cannot be extended.
    I can create new output with a new certificate and a timestamp (I have archives of all my help projects). But, the new certificate and timestamp causes AIR to treat the updated help as if it were new help. It won't install automatically over the old help, and our context-sensitive help is broken.Our engineer tried hard to find a way to prevent the updated help with the new certificate to be treated as a new help, but he says that for older versions of AIR (like 1.5), the "publisher ID" is not separate from the certificate. A new publisher ID is required with a new certificate.
    This is a bad situation, to say the least.
    Vikas has tried to help but what we were able to determine is that my context-sensitive help is functioning properly. I know this anyway, because when the engineer updates the publisher ID for our software to connect to the updated help, all works as expected. But we are not going to re-issue previous versions of our software so that the context-sensitive help functions correctly. All customers with older help who need to reinstall it for any reason, will no longer have context-sensitive help.
    I am still hoping to learn something from an Adobe engineer that will help us be able to re-issue our help and have it not be viewed as a different help installation, or extend our certificates. Vikas does not have this information, though I appreciate that he tried to assist us.
    In my research on this, I also found one person who used a certified, signed, certificate and had it expire after five years. And someone else who used a timestamp but still had the help expire. On the AIR support site, it definitely states that self-signed certificates expire after five years - now I know this. But not a word about this in RoboHelp help.
    In hindsight, I am sorry that I created my help files with AIR.

  • MacBook Air SMC Firmware Update v2.0 update available again and again.  How do I fix it?

    I have installed MacBook Air SMC Firmware Update v2.0 three times and I still get an update available notification asking to install it again.  This is a mid-13 MacBook Air running OSX 10.9.3.   System info lists the SMC version as 2.13f7.
    Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

    Hi,
    - Are there any status or error messages in /var/log/install.log
    - The Firmware version it should install is 2.12f137
    - If there isn't anything in the log try:
    Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    and/or About NVRAM and PRAM
    and check whether there is installation.
    If no install, try OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode
    then reboot normal, try the install again.
    Hope this helps

  • Firefox crashes at start because of SQLite Version Error

    I upgraded to Snow Leopard and now when I try to start Firefox it gives me the following error:
    SQLite Version Error
    The application has been updated, but your version of SQLite is too old and the application cannot run.
    It won't start in safe mode. I've rebooted my mac in safe mode and then started normally to clear my cache. Firefox is not sending crash reports.

    I've had this exact same problem since upgrading to 10.6 in February (I've been subsisting on Firefox 3.0 ever since), and I've never been able to figure out how to update sqlite. Can you explain how you did this? The disk image I downloaded from that site you linked to has nothing but a command line UNIX executable, a library file (no idea where to put this), and a readme that doesn't explain anything useful. Any help would be appreciated.
