AIR Storage Issue

My Air says I have 118 g's of movies.  I deleted all my movies on file and restarted my AIR.  It still says I have 118 g's.  Obviously, I want to find these and delete them to free up my flash.  How to do this?

  • Oracle 10g RAC using ASM - Storage Issue

I’ve an issue related to Oracle 10g RAC.
I’ve 2 node cluster each being Dell 2850 Server with RHEL 4.0
I’ve EMC CX300 SAN storage with following partitions
    /orasoft     10 Gb          OCFS2 File system
    /oracrs          2 Gb          OCFS2 File system
    /orabackup      100 Gb          OCFS2 File system
The datafiles are on ASM which is not directly visible in OS.
I’ve common Oracle Home installed in /orasoft/db_1 which is shared by both nodes in cluster.
I’ve faced an issue recently related to EMC storage.
The /orasoft partition displays 1.4 Gb space available using df command.
With both nodes sharing the common Oracle Home (/orasoft/db_1), when ever I try to touch a file I get an error as No Space left on device. I’m unable to start any service with the same reason.
    Is this setup correct ??
Can anyone help me with this storage issue ??

Need a clarification here...what do you mean by "Storage System"...do you mean a server/node or the SAN storage system. If you are referring to a server/node's local storage, then it would NOT be possible for use by RAC, since the disk space has to be shared among the nodes.
Here is what you can do:
    - Create two partitions/devices (for example Disk_1 and Disk_2) in the SAN storage
    - Create a ASM disk group which would mirror Disk_1 to Disk_2.
Again, please note that the partitions have to be visible and be accessible read/write from both the nodes/servers.

    Hi,
If you create a new diskgroup you may be to add the same diskgroup to parameter file or spfile and which will be needing down time.
sugestion: Instead of creating new diskgroup you should to add disk to existing group.if you add asm disk to existing group your all problem will be solved and Oracle itself will be managing all.And than i am sure no need to add entry in the parameter or spfile like +db_create_file_dest=.....

  • ICloud storage issue; Restoring iPhone calendar from iMac after accidental iCloud deletion

I set up iCloud to back up calendars and contacts and for find my phone.  Initially, it seemed to work alright.  Then I got messages on iPhone that there wasn't enough iCloud storage, even though the storage tab showed that I had used none of my iCloud storage at all.  So I turned off iCloud/contacts.   In iTunes I switched back from iCloud backup to backup from my iMac.
Later I got the same message about not enough room in iCloud even though only calendars involved.  So I truned off iCloud/calendar on my iPhone and was given the choice of keeping the calendars from the iCloud or deleting them (a foolish choice without a failsafe!!!).  I clumsily and mistakenly hit delete.  My calendars have most recently been synced with my new iMac and appear on the iMac and should also be in TM.  But right now there is no data in my iPhone calendar.
When i go to calendars within the iiphone calendar there is a check next to Calender under "from MY Mac" and no reference to iCloud.  (There are no separate calendars for me, my wife, and joint.  Does this mean somehow these calendars have been merged because of iCloud?)
I don't want to do another sync until I can make sure that the sync with the iMac will resotre the calendar(s) to the iPnone.  How do I do this?
Do I have to do anything on the iMac before I try a sync?
How do I avoid these problems in the future?  The only thing I really would like from iCloud is "find my phone".  How do I keep that capability without backing up or su=yncing otherwise anything through iCloud?
    Is iCloud still Beta?

Apple walked me through this and helped me revert to backing up on my iMac, using iCloud only for find my iPhone and iMac.  The process, however, is not straightforward and what the respective mac and iPhone support people (yes, they have that kind of specialization) led me through was clearer, if somewhat convoluted, than any instructions on Apple's support or community pages.
Since my main concern was not losing my calendar and contacts information, the key was saving that, via export, to my desktop.  Sorry I didn't write down all the other steps - but I see that as Apple's job.  Back in the days of the IIC, Apple's manual was a model of clarity and completeness at the same time.
Bottom line is while my immediate concerns were resolved, the underlying iCloud storage issue was not.  On my iPhone, I was being told that my attempts to backup to the iCloud failed because I didn't have enough storage, even though I determined almost none of my alloted space was used.  This issue is not helped by the multiplicity of settings relating to iCloud, or the interfaces (such as the iCloud on the iMac through Mavericks) which present a screen of icons without additional information.
For my purposes, iCloud remains Beta.

What does the "other" part in my mac air storage meter mean?

things that are not audio movies photos apps or backups. Like your OS.
this also denotes things not indexed by spotlight as that is one of the functions of spotlight, to show you the media you have on your hard drives.

  • Ios 8.2 storage issue

I have an iPhone 5s 16GB. Ever since I updated to ios 8.2, I have had random storage issues. One day after updating I received a message "storage almost full".  30 seconds later another message that my storage was full. Shut off my phone and did a hard reset. No change. Started to delete pictures, videos and apps. Available storage began to increase. After all of this it reported I had 1G available. Phone was good for about 6 hours. Noticed storage was decreasing by the hour and was down to 324 Mb. Deleted almost all my apps. Storage showed 1.3 Gb. Thought problem was solved. Noticed last night storage was 2.0 GB. Thought this was weird. This morning back to square one 0 bytes available. Apple needs to get it together with this update!!  I've read several other post on this forum with exactly the same issue. Deleted a few more apps this morning. 116mb free at this time, but I don't expect it to last.
Wanted to start a new thread with this problem.

You don't have enough physical storage space on the device for the update to take place. The process can use ~6 -~7 GB of storage space. You can possibly free up the required space by deleting apps and other data. The easiest way to do the update with all of the deleting required is to update the device using iTunes & your syncing PC. No additional storage space is required on the device when updating through iTunes.
Beforehand though, you should delete the update residing on your device under Settings/Usage, then under the Starge heading: Manage Storage. A list of installed apps will be displayed here. You can delete the update by finding it in the list (it should be near the top since they are sorted by size, largest first), tapping it, then tapping the red Delete App button.
EDIT: BTW, after an update, there's no way to revert back to the previous version. If you don't have the required space on the device for the process, the update will simply not install.

  • The Storage Issue

    Hi
I have a big problem trying to understand how my iPad Air storage works. I have a 16gb one and iCloud but it appears that it just syncs what I have on my memory with the Cloud. What is the point? I would like to upload everything to iCloud and free memory on my iPad. It doesn't work.
I also have 1TB on OneDrive and cannot use it with the app given. Apparently it is also syncing the OneDrive to my iPad.
I would like to have my files in the cloud and call them to my iPad if and when needed.
Theoretically if I have 30GB on OneDrive this will eat all the memory on my iPad. That's not good.
With iCloud I am constantly being reminded to increase memory (for a fee of course) when I have photos and videos BOTH on the cloud and my device.
Is there a way around this or paying is the only option?
    Thank you
    Paulo

iCloud space is for back up. If you want to free up memory on your device, move your pictures to your computer. Another option would be to move them to online storage such as Dropbox and then delete them from your device. DropBox has a nice app call Carousel that will handle the syncing part for you.
For information on how OneDrive works, you should consult Microsoft.
    Best of luck.

  • Storage Issue on my macbook air

Hi there, I have a very confusing issue with my mac. My storage say I have 102GB of audio files but I know for sure the only audio files I have are on Itunes, and it only 32GB not 102GB. So what happen with my mac?

  • Apple I pad air 2 storages issue

I Just recently bought air 2 16gig. Once I opened the box and see storage space it directly shows 11.4gig not 16gig. I got this but once I started installing the apps in ipad just installing few odd apps it started showing less space. I tried to manage space but actual installed apps were of 1 gig hardly please guide me

As noted before, the OS takes up a fair bit of space, and to a lesser degree, the default apps that cannot be deleted.
And, of course, the apps themselves take up some space, too. Apps come in a variety of sizes, from a few hundred KB for a fairly simple app to a GB or more for some games.
Delete any unused apps to help free up some space. Not really much guidance to give.

  • Storage Issue- MacBook Air 64GB

Is it possible to upgrade an 11" MacBook Air 64GB to 128GB SSD?

As others have mentioned, OWC offers upgrades.  They also provide excellent instructions on their site (although, the upgrade is super easy).  They also include the screw drivers necessary to open your Air as Apple has chosen to use non-standard screws.  The SSDs are on the expensive side, but not that much out of range from standard SSDs for similar capacities.  Considering OWC is the only game in town for these, their pricing isn't that bad.  In terms of value, the 240GB seems to be the best option.

  • My MacBook Air has a storage issue.

Hey how yal doin. y issue is that i have no space at all. not even for a simple upgrade. i have gone through everything and erased it all, except for pic and i have some movies..... the biggest app i have is (iPhoto) but still my mac tells me i am using 42.66 gigs of (other)?? there is nothing i can find to be Other?....

Do you not have a disk icon located on your Desktop? I don't mean a folder but the background display on your screen. What you should find is something similar to this:
Are you using Time Machine, by chance, or have it enabled but do not have have a backup drive connected? This space may be occupied by TM snapshots: OS X Lion- About Time Machine's "local snapshots" on portable Macs. You can disable snapshots which will free up the space used:
Open the Terminal in your Utilities folder and enter the following at the prompt. Press RETURN after the command.
To turn them ON: sudo tmutil enablelocal
To turn them OFF: sudo tmutil disablelocal
Note that turning them OFF will also delete all existing snapshots.
