Air thinks there is a Midi connection when there is not.  I get no playback audio out of Air.

Hello..I am trying to rehearse songs for studio session.  Keep getting message that Garageband that my Air thinks there is a Midi connection when there is not.  I get no playback audio.  How do I tell Garageband/Air to stop looking for Midi/Logic?
It is looking for the Logic Pro used at my recording studio I go to when I transfer my cuts over to the studio's Logic Pro system from my air.  I can probably wait and have my engineer figure it out but hoping somebody here will return a quick answer... Please...thanks!
I have tried everything I can think of in audio, preferences, etc.
Seems so simple to tell my Air..hey...we are no longer connected to Logic Pro at the studio!

19 Views and 0! replies...i must really have an oddball problem...my machine still thinks it needs to look for Midi because it is using LogicPro...at the music recording studio.
How do I tell it we are at home and act normally so I can hear the Air internal speakers???  Ack!

  • Mac thinks that there's a monitor connected when there isn't?

My MBP thinks that there's an external monitor connected to the computer, when in fact there is not. My solution is to simply use "Mirror display" so that the screen's edges don't lead into another non-existent monitor. However, I'd really like to fix this. I thought this was a software problem at first, but after reformatting the computer, I am starting to believe that it's a hardware problem.
Does anyone know what's going on here? How can I fix this? Thanks in advance!

What's bringing you to that conclusion ?
When you run System Preferences/Displays is it showing something else ?
Are you sure it's not 'Spaces' at work (multiple desktops) ?
System Preferences/Spaces - uncheck 'Enable Spaces'

  • BlackBerry thinks it's in the holster when it's not.

    Hi,
This is the first post to a forum that I have had to do so I am not sure what to do besides post my issue and see if any awesome people can help me out
As the subject says, my Blackberry Curve 8330 thinks it is in the holster when it is not...or is having holster recognition issues in general.
I updated my phone because of a prompt my carrier sent me and ever since my phone has been having issues recognizing my holster.
Sometimes when I take my phone out of the holster the screen goes black and I can push the ball to turn on the screen and send a text, for example; however, the screen goes black again right away bringing my phone out of the text I was sending. The screen stays on enough for me to get one letter in if I am lucky while my phone is acting up its most. Likewise to my screen turning black when I take my phone out of the holster it sometimes turns on when in the holster as if it is doing the opposite it should do.
Sometimes it doesn't recognize the holster at all and is unpredictably uncooperative all the time.
If you have some experience with this issue or know what is going on and how to fix it please let me know!
If you need any clarification don't hesitate to ask.
    Thanks!
    -Justin

i'm experiancing the same thing with my 9700.
i'm not using the holster at all.
    still, some of my sound profiles are setup to make a tone only when 'out of holster';
there are times that my device 'thinks' it's in the holster as it doesn't make any sound
any help will be very appreciated.

  • How do you get 24/96 audio from macbook air?

How do you get 24/96 audio out from macbook air?

If your media source is limited to a DVD disk, then a DVD reader will somehow have to be employed to read that disk. Apple sells a Superdrive specifically designed for use with the MBA, but I've found that many others will work almost equally as well.
Some DVD disks already contain a digital file suitable for play, when directly copied off the disk. However, for more traditional DVD movies, it will require an application to perform what is called "ripping", to convert and copy the DVD's contents to a file that can be moved and played off the disk. I have used an application called "Handbrake" with reasonable success.
After ripping, you may need another application to convert it to a format specific to the media player you may choose to eventually use. e.g. to convert into a file that iTunes may import.

  • Quiz in Captivate 4 thinks there are 2 extra questions when there isn't

I've created a quiz in Adobe Captivate 4. No matter how many questions I create it keeps saying I have 2 extra ones. For example the progress bar will say total of 5 questions when in reality I have only 3. This is an issue since I am going to be using an LMS to track the trainees performance and it makes a difference not only in the scoring because 2 extra questions are being calculated when there really isn't. It's also confusing to the participants because they'll think they missed two questions when in fact they didn't. Can someone help me out? I have searched hi and low to see where I can fix this setting but I'm at a loss.
    Thanks,
    Kate

Hello and welcome to the forum,
Please open Advanced Interaction view (F9). You'll see an overview of all scored objects, the total score and what is in that total score. In CP4 you can edit in this view. Those scored objects (can be click boxes, buttons or Text Entry Boxes) that did get a score and you do not want to include in the total score can be edited there: uncheck 'Include in score' and 'Add to Total'. You can even set those scores to 0. Sorry, only have 5/5.5 on this system, perhaps terminology is slightly different.

  • Possible water damage, says there is headphone connected when there isn't, what do I do?

I bought my iPhone 4s on October 23, and it was working fine until yesterday. I made a call after I got off work, and couldn't hear anything through the headpiece. No ringing or voice, so I hung up. I then checked the volume and it showed the ringer volume with (headphones). There were no headphone connected. I tried putting headphones in normally, but it wouldn't make the same "click" it used to. There doesn't appear to be anything stuck in the jack, so I don't know what the problem is. I am a dishwasher and keep my phone in it's case in my back pocket and don't take it out while I work. It has ghost armor too, but could it possibly have gotten wet through the charger connector and/or headphone jack? There doesn't appear to be anything wrong other than the headphone jack, but I'm worried. What can I do?

Try plugging/unplugging the headphone jack many times very rapidly.
If this does not work try Resetting the iPhone (hold down the sleep and home buttons, ignore the red Off slider, wait for the Apple logo, let the buttons go).

  • Why does my Ipad say headphones are connected when they are not?

I do not have sound on my iPad1. When I try to turn up the volum it indicates headphones are connected, but they are not. When I do use headphones they do work. I have rebooted the iPad, reset and restored the iPad and the issue still exists. Is this a straight hardware problem?

iPad has a mechanical switch inside the jack so it knows when the headphones are plugged in.
    It may be stuck.
Inspect it to see if something is in there, such as toe jam.
Blow the port out with compressed air.
Try inserting and removing a headphone plug several times.

  • How do I log off my DSL/Firefox Internet connection when it is not in use?

With my old dialup/Firefox Internet connection, I could return to the provider's home screen and click on a button to log off. I do not want to be connected to the Internet 24/7, but want to log off when I am not using the service. The provider says I should unplug the incoming cable, but if I do it this way several times a day, it won't be long before I need a new cable. Please tell me that there is a better way.

  • There was a problem connecting to the server. - Keeps getting error message.

  • Firefox thinks Preview is default pdf reader when it's not

Four times, I highlighted a pdf file, got info, changed to Adobe as default, clicked "change all." PDFs that are already on my computer are opening in Adobe, but downloaded PDFs are opening in Preview. Next to "Preview" in the download window, it says "(default)". This is a dropdown menu, but there are no other choices. There doesn't seem to be an option in Firefox to change the default from there, so I assume it's something that has to be done through Leopard.
    Any suggestions?

First, I notice you are running Tiger - this is the Leopard forum - things may be different with Leopard.
When I click on a .pdf file with FF, I get a popup window asking to select a reader.
Be sure you check the box, "Do this Automatically ....." in the popup window.
Once you do this, in the FF preferences under Programs, you will now find Adobe listed as the default program for opening Portable Document Format files.
I just did exactly this and it works correctly. PDF files now open with Adobe, not Preview, all the time.

  • How do I install apps CC thinks are there and up to date, when they're not?

I migrated to a different but hardware equivalent MacBook Pro from a Time Machine backup. For some reason many apps, including the CC apps I had installed did not migrate. The problem is that CC for Desktop thinks they're all installed and up to date. I see now way of changing this. There are no uninstallers in my /Applications/Utilities/ folder and uninstalling/re-installing CC doesn't help. Any ideas?

Adobe applications need to be installed.  Migration/traqnsfer seldom works.
CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed

  • MBP still thinks external display is connected when it's not

I have my MBP connected via DVI to an external LCD (HP w2007). Whenever I disconnect the DVI plug from my MBP, my MBP thinks the external monitor is still connected. I can go to Sysprefs > Displays > Gather Windows and it'll clearly have the HP's display pref window showing up.
This is a huge issue since any programs that were previously shown on the external display continue to think the display is still there and then I can't access them.

Had posted here because I figured the hold time for Apple support would be long because of Leopard's release. Hold times were not too bad. Problem is solved by resetting PRAM.
