Air tunes wont play on home stereo using mini to RCA cord to Aux port

iTunes see's the base station and connects to it in itunes on Windows laptop and ipod touch but when the mini stereo jack to RCA 2 end cord is plugged from my home stereo to the Airport express but when I choose to play my iTunes through the base station no sound comes out through the stereo
Isn't this exactly what it is designed to do???
yes I have "home sharing on as well"
I can play my ipod touch hooked up to the stereo using the same mini jack to RCA cable whjile on the Aux port of the stereo why not the base station??
any ideas how I can get this to actually work???

Could be a firewall issue. Try disabling the firewall, reboot, and then see if it works. If so I have found that I need to uninstall iTunes, enable firewall, reboot, reinstall iTunes

  • My iPad air won't charge.  I have used both the charge cord that came with it, and a second that I bought at the Apple store.  I have used both the charger that came with the iPad, and others that are working with other iPads.  It charged yesterday.

My iPad Air will not charge.  I have used its original charge cord, and a second Apple lightning cord.  I have used the original charger and others that I have confirmed do work.  It charged yesterday, no problem.

Before going to the Apple store carefully examine the lightning port to make sure no fuzz or other foreign stuff has gotten in there. There are not that many things that can prevent an iPad from charging. You've tried a different cable, different charger and hopefully the reset suggested by Barry in the previous post. Check for debris and if the port is clear Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • Downloaded music from my new Imac wont play properly at my Ipod Mini

Just bought an Imac and downloaded music from Itunes musicstore. The music i have downloaded from my new Imac wont play properly at my Ipod mini. After 52 sec the song stops and the next song continues... If i go past the 52 sec it plays all right... I have tried to reset the ipod mini, and restore it. Nothing works...
The songs i have downloaded with my PC does not have any problems at all...
    Hope you can help.

iTunes does not transfer tracks back from an iPod to iTunes. The synchronization function is from iTunes to the iPod only. But you can get tracks back from your iPod if they haven't been erased (which will happen if you synch your iPod to a blank iTunes). The easiest way will be to search VersionTracker for "iPod". You'll find a number of utilities that can transfer your tracks and your playlists from your iPod back to your PC.
It's also possible to do this manually, but the procedure is rather involved. If you're interested, though, see this thread:
    MacMuse: Computer crashed
If your tracks are already gone from your iPod, though, then you're probably out of luck and will need to re-import your CDs and repurchase your tracks from the iTunes Music Store if you don't have them backed up elsewhere (which is strongly recommend).
    Hope this helps. Good luck.

  • IPdo Universal Dock /// Not made for home stereo use

Wow, after talking to “Dawn” at Apple technical support I was advised against using the iPod Universal Dock to connect to my home stereo. Apparently it was made for convenience rather than sonics. Funny but the older model (without the remote and s-video jacks) sounds great when connected to the stereo verses using the iPod’s headphone jack.
Looks like I’ll be returning the Dock and Remote….
Here’s my original email to the iPod store:
    Gentlemen,
At the advice of a friend I recently purchased the iPod Universal Dock (w remote)to connect to my stereo. This was based on his claim (which I verified) that the dock sounded substantially better than the headphone out jack (using the Monster Cable interconnect). Unfortunately the new Universal dock (w/ s-video & remote capabilities) sounds worse than the iPod’s headphone jack. We did a lot of comparisons using the older generation doc and have identified that it’s my new dock that sounds like garbage.
Is my Dock faultily or was the old one sonically better? Either way I would like to return my doc for either an exchange (if you believe my dock to be faulty) or a refund.
    Thanks
    Tony

I recently purchased a universal 5 in 1 docking station that is suppose to charge my nano and also play through my stereo also but when I hooked it up to my stereo I can't get it to play. Wondering what I could be doing wrong, does the stereo have to be on a certain station? Any suggestions I might could try. There was not much instruction that came with it just a diagram but looks like I followed the diagram?!

  • How to set up to use Ipad to stream pandora to my home stereo using airport express

I have just purchased Airport Express and want to use it to stream pandora from Ipad to Home Stereo.  I have the necessary RC jack and already have a home wifi network.  any suggestions?

While playing Pandora double click the home button, swipe left twice.  you should see music controls and an "output" icon.  Click the output icon and select the appropriate device.

  • Play on home stereo via wireless Bluetooth?

I have an (analog) home stereo. I want to play my iPod Touch 2nd Generation through the stereo via a wireless connection, like BlueTooth. What products will let me do this?

    Hello.
As stated your best option is to seek a Bluetooth Dongle. This will connect to the audio jack on your iPod Touch. You will then want to ensure it comes an adapter to connect to the stereo in the house. This will allow the iPod touch to broadcast the music to the stereo.
You may also want to look into Stereo docking stations. Many of these stations allow you to dock the iPod Touch and then have a remote where you can control it from the couch or across the room. Link below to show you some of the units that can do this.

You may also want to look into an Airport Express. This allows you to stream music from iTunes into your Stereo. You can then download the Remote App via the iTunes App store and control the library from anywhere in the house via a WiFi connection on iPod Touch.

  • Burned discs will not play on home stereo

I have recently discovered that since December of 2009, all the discs I have burned of my iTunes purchases do not play on my home stereo CD player (Sony 300 disc jukebox). They still play on my Mac G5 desktop (OS 10.4.11) with iTunes v9.1. Discs I burned before December 2009 still play on my CD player. What's strange is that if I put the disc in my iMac Intel G5 (OS 10.6.3) and reburn the disc on that machine, they do play on the CD player. Also, discs I can burn on the G5 desktop with Toast play fine. Was something changed in iTunes around December, 2009 that would affect my burning in this way? Thanks for any input...

Did you accidentally select a data CD or an MP3 CDin your burn preferences, instead of an Audio CD?

  • Ive burned a CD-R, but it wont play on my stereo, help?

i don't know why, but recently, whenever i try to burn a CD so that i can listen to my music from a stereo, the CD will not play on the stereo. of course i use iTunes to burn the CD. i always have.
im going to take a guess and say that i need to convert my songs into mp3 files? i tried by highlighting the songs i want, right-clicking and converting to mp3, but after its done "converting" it's still in MPEG-1 format.
you know what.....that's great and all, but i dont think i should have to convert everything to mp3 just to burn a CD. correct? do i need to burn as an audio CD, an mp3 CD, or a data CD? i am so confused!!! >_<
and yes, i am using CD-R discs, which SHOULD be compatible with stereos....so....uhh....erm....what's the problem?

Welcome to discussions, Eric! Here are some thing to take a look at.
Data CD's are strictly used for backup purposes & will only play on your computer.
Are you talking about purchases from the music store? If so, they can only be burned as an audio CD. Is the playlist/s you're trying to burn purchased music, songs you have ripped from your own CD's, or a combination of both? Are you getting any error message or codes at all? Out of curiosity's sake & if you have a couple of blank discs to waste, why not try re-burning a playlist that has not work as mp3 to an audio CD & see if that is recognized in your stereo?
From your post, I'm going to assume that your stereo system has mp3 playback capability? Even though you are using R's & not RW's, I have heardd of instances where a change in brand of R discs will cause a burned disc not to be recognized as weird as it sounds
These are just ideas for now. Let us know how you're doing. It would also be helpful to know your computer & OS information, what version of iTunes you're presently using, & any other specific information about this issue that might be helpful.

  • Imac to home stereo (1/8" to RCA)

Tried to hook up my new 20" imac to the home stereo with an existing cable I've been using with my ipod. Got a serious buzzing and had to crank the volume in order to hear anything. Sounded like the plug was only half way in or something. Plugged in the ipod and it sounded great.
Anyone else experiencing this? Possibly related to audio out issues?
Anyone buy the monster cable digital optical cable? My reciever has optical in, but was hoping for a $6 solution instead of $30.
    TIA.
    R>

Can't speak about the problem with the audio on your cable, but I can offer some advice on the optical output.
I bought the Belkin adaptor that you can find on Apple site Found here
It is absolutely amazing and I can definately notice a difference in sound quality. The one thing that bugs me though, is that you lose controll of the volume through the Mac. (i.e. the volume on the keyboard and the remote don't work, you have to use the volume on your stereo)
    Hope that helps

  • Home stereo using laptop or i pod, or what?

    Hi
Im still ruminating a possible digital jukebox setup in my living room in which I can have all my music handy and work it from across the room with a remote
Everyone initially suggest just getting an Ipod. Thats $299 + Remote $29 + some kind of monitor/screen so I can see I Tunes on the screen and navigate through songs, $200.........? Plus dock $100.That adds up to about $700 with tax. Cant burn CD's on that setup.
I can get a PC laptop for that much. But, having a laptop in the living room, wife dont like it.
    Any suggestions?

does the computer have to be on?
    Yes
how do I change from song to song being downstairs?
Either use something like the Keyspan Remote.
    http://www.keyspan.com/products/usb/urm17a/
My computer is upstairs and stereo downstairs
Considering the computer is part of a wireless network (or has an adapter) this won't be an issue.

  • Problems connecting iPod to car & home stereo

Whenever I connect my iPod to my car or home stereo, I can only hear music out of one speaker. Is there a setting I need to adjust from the iPod itself in order to hear my music in stereo mode?
Please help, I'm leaving on tour tomorrow morning!

I'm connecting my iPod from the earphone jack into my home stereo using white & red RCA cables.
I'm also using a car adapter that plugs from the earphone & little flat slot next to it and this to the cigarette lighter.
Neither way am I able to hear my music in stereo.
