AIR Webkit upgrade

Hello!
As you can see in the topic below, i'm totally stuck with AIR and Google Maps JS V3 embedded into my air application.
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18723453/air-and-google-maps-javascript-v3-street-view/ 18724082?noredirect=1#18724082
Can i just upgrade the webkit version used by AIR?
Otherwise... are you planning to upgrade it? The current one was used by Safari in 2010!
Thank you
Davide

Hi Chris
I am also desperate for an update to webkit.
The current browser object is awful. To see how bad it is, just make a simple browser app and try surfing the web for 10 minutes. It's so bad that I'm going to have to use Chrome or Mozilla in my current project. I couldn't possibly release something to the public that uses the current flex browser object.
Davide has kindly created a bug report and the link is:

He posted it on StackOverflow. Unfortunately, I don't have voting privileges.
Kind Regards,

Can my mid 2011 macbook air be upgraded to wifi 802.11ac? I am considering replacing my 802.11n router with the 802.11ac time capsule. Will this effect my download speed on my 802.11n macbook air (mid 2011)? can it be upgraded?

No, you cannot change the Wi-Fi hardware in your Mac. The Time Capsule is still worth it due to its ability to make backups of your Mac via Time Machine.

  • Cant open doc files from the server on MacBook Air after upgrading to Maverick

Cant open doc files from the server on MacBook Air after upgrading to Maverick, I can only open up docx file. Thank you!

Thanks for the suggestion! I don't use Phantasm or VectorScribe (or any Astute Graphics plugins for that matter). I do, however, have a Wacom tablet and have a few plugins that concern using Blurb Book Creator as well as LiveSurface Context.
I did the very unfortunate and foolish act of upgrading to Maverick without a backup, so postponing isn't an option for me.
I geuss my question at this point would be, would it be worthwhile to wipe all the adobe products from my harddrive and re-install them? Or would that be a useless endeavor.
I don't have an external hard-drive so backing up and re-installing the entire OS would be a bit much. Any suggestions?

  • BUG AIR Webkit : referrer empty after a redirect

    Hi all,
I've noticed a bug with AIR 1.5.1 : the document.referrer is empty just after a HTTP redirection (status code 302).
As a consequence, the referer for the final page is "http://adobe.com/apollo".
I don't known if it's due to the Webkit port done by the AIR team or else a bug in the Webkit trunk.
How can I make it fixed?
    Regards,
    jp

This bug is not related to Flex (I don't use Flex). It's reproduced with only the AIR SDK 1.5.1 (that containins webkit version 34190). It's a pure AIR html application. Where can I post this AIR/webkit bug?

  • Failed Snow Leopard Air remote upgrade left an unwanted volume behind

I bought the Snow Leopard Family Pack to upgrade my iMac and Macbook Air from Leopard to Snow Leopard. The iMac upgraded just fine. Then I set up Air to upgrade from the install disk in the iMac by sharing. It appeared to be working but ended with an error message (don't remember what it was) after well over an hour. Then I remembered an old external USB drive I was lucky to have lying around, and installed Snow Leopard from it just fine. However, the first install attempt left behind a new volume called "Install OS X" that's occupying just over 2 GB. I know ugly things can happen when tinkering with hard drives, so I didn't want to just delete it. What should I do to safely get rid of this thing? Thanks.

If it's a volume, if you drag it and hover it over the trash, the Trash should turn into an Eject icon. If it does, you can safely put it in the Trash. If the Trash stays the Trash when you hover over it with the Install icon, then DON'T DELETE IT YET!!! First, follow my next instructions:
    1. Go to the Apple menu in the upper left corner of your screen. It's located on the menu bar.
    2. Click on it, and from that menu, go to About This Mac.
    3. A window will pop up that will say Mac OS X Version ________.
    4. If the version number is 10.6 or 10.6.1, 10.6.2, 10.6.3, then you are okay to drag the install icon to the trash. If the version number is anything with a 10.5, then DON'T delete the Install icon yet.
If you're still running on Leopard (10.5._), you should double-click the Install icon to install Snow Leopard. After the install, do the numbered steps again. You should be running on 10.6 now. Then you can run Software Update to get the latest Snow Leopard update, 10.6.3. If all this doesn't solve your problem, report back here. Whew! That was long.
    Hope this helps.

  • IPad Air after upgrade to ios 8 continue to drop WiFi connection

On September 19, I upgrade my ipad air to ios 8, and it had been dropping Wifi connection ever since.  I was browsing using Chrome and next thing the browser hang up; then error message informed me to no network connection.  By the way, my network was strong (5 bars), because I was streaming to my Roku in HD without any issues.  At the same time, my Airplay do not want to stream the content in full screen either. It only mirror what have see on my ipad, not allow me to go full screen on TV.  I hoped Apple will step up and correct this issue as soon as possible; I miss the good old day of reliable upgrade from Apple.

Yes, and hopeful 8.1.1 will help.  It's supposedly in beta testing.

  • Macbook pro to macbook air plus upgrade to lion and moving to cloud -- help!

So, I'm getting a new macbook air and I need to transfer stuff (apps, software, data, music, photos, etc.) from my macbook pro (a 2008 unibody w/a full hard drive that's got twice the storage of the air).
Should I upgrade the pro from OS 10.6.8 to lion first?
Should I move stuff to the iCloud first?
Whould I move my media (music, movies, TV shows, photos) to a hard drive first?
I'm clearly nervous about the best order of operations here so that I don't lose any of my data & media, and so I have the least awful transition experience. In the past, I've always upgraded to systems with *larger* hard drives so moving to a system with much less storage is freaking me out.
    Thanks for your help!

I took the conservative route when I migrated to the MBair.  I made a clone of my source machine, booted that and tailored it down to what I wanted on the MBair.  I left the original machine alone (with plenty of backups).
Then when I received the MBair, I connect my tailored, external disk clone and used that when setup assistant asked if I wanted to migrate another Mac to the MBair.

Downgrading AIR back to version 14 seems to solve the problem.  Any suggestions?

    Hi Prateek,
Our app is experiencing a similar crash with AIR 15 (on OS X, and Windows XP / Windows 7) - the crash did not occur with AIR 14 and lower.
Here's a link to the bug I created for this (I see another user voted for it also):
Bug#3825805 - App now crashes with AIR 15 on both PC & Mac, did not crash on earlier versions of AIR.
I've been trying to find a work around but I'm not able to reproduce the crash in the IDE.  Please let me know if you have any ideas on how to debug this in the IDE and I'd be more than happy to help.

  • Macbook air 64GB upgrade?

    Hi,
I am considering getting the new 64GB macbook air and I have a question. Later on if I decide I want more memory, is it possible to upgrade it via the apple store or to do it myself? I'm a bit confused because for the 128 GB one it says online "Configurable to 256GB flash storage" but not for the 64....

With Lion my advice is to get the model with 4 GBs of RAM and at least the 128 GB SSD.

Any ideas on why this might be happening?
    Sean

    Hi Sean,
I asked one of our devs about this and here's what he had to say:
I think this is a limitation of the installers, and not a new one. In graphical mode, when the runtime encounters an air file with an unrecognized namespace it triggers an immediate update of the runtime with some corresponding UI. But when we're in silent mode we can't show an update UI, so we just fail. If you're going to do a silent install of an air app during your install, you need to have some logic to ensure the runtime is sufficient before you start, either by having copy or the latest runtime in your installer or by downloading it. I think this sort of thing is spelled out in our redistribution kit, but it may be less obvious with native installers, which normally always update themselves
Hope this helps.  If this isn't sufficient, would you mind opening a new bug on this so we can follow up further?

  • Can i send in my macbook air to upgrade the ram

i would like to know if i can send my macbook air in to apple to upgrade the ram?

They don't want hands poking around inside then a zillion calls from the hipsters that fried their mother boards.
Actually the reason is that, even on the 2012 models, the RAM is still soldered directly to the logic board.  If you order it with 8GB, it is manufactured with 8GB... it isnt' upgraded after the manufacture.  This is no different than the 2GB and 4GB options on previous Airs... only now you have an 8GB option.
