Air with no iWeb installed

A friend of mine just bought a macbook air, loves it. BUT when we went to fire up iWeb it was no where to be found. What gives? Has anyone else come across this? Is iWeb to heavy a program for the air and they just didn't included it with iLife?

iWeb should have been located in the Applications folder. By the way, Apple applications should not be moved from their locations in the Applications folder. iWeb is not in the dock unless you tell it to stay in the dock once it has been opened once. If you cannot find an app, try Spotlight.
On my MBA, it is located in the Apps folder with all the applications. It is simply not yet in the dock since I have not told it stay there.

Some websites require a special client certficate for access. If you don't have that certficate, you'll have to contact the site operator to find out how to get one.
Sometimes the problem is caused by a web server that is configured to request an optional client certificate. Safari treats the request as mandatory. In that case, other browsers such as Firefox and Chrome may be able to connect to the site, because they ignore the request.
The first time you were prompted for a certificate, you may have clicked through a dialog that requested access to the Apple certificate in your keychain that is used to secure the iMessage service. In that case, you may be able to regain access to the site in Safari by doing as follows.
Back up all data.
Double-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Paste into the search field in the Keychain Access window by clicking in it and pressing the key combination command-V. An item may appear in the list of keychain items. The Name will begin with string you searched for, and the Kind will be "certificate."
Delete the item by selecting it and pressing the delete key. It will be recreated automatically the next time you launch the Messages or FaceTime application.
The next time you visit a site that prompts for an optional client certificate, cancel out of the prompt. You may have to do this several times before the server stops asking.

I have a MacBook Air, with no CD drive. I just purchased 'Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 & Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Premiere', from the 'Best Buy' store. I asked for help before I purchased the product, to make sure I did not need a CD drive to download 'Photoshop' to my MacBook Air, the lady told me I did not need a CD drive for it to download. I come home to download it, to find that there are no instructions for online downloading or downloading without a CD drive. I have tried calling customer service and doing research on the computer for help and I can not find any answers what so ever. I really need help with this, as I have deleted all of my photos and videos on my MacBook Air to free up enough space for 'Photoshop' to fit on my laptop. Please help AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, thanks!

Your friend's installer is tied to his computer, and will require his Apple login id to insall, as well as any future updates. Since you have Snow Leopard, 10.6.8, use the App Store app and create your own Apple login to download Mavericks from the App Store. It is free.

Installing Quicken software on MacBook Air with VMware.

I am a new MacBook Air user and have installed VMware so that I can install Quicken software (which only operates on Windows). I am having all sorts of trouble; when I try to install Quicken in my USB superdrive, nothing happens. It won't load the software. I have tried "autorun" in "windows" but I don't know the name of drive. Sorry, I have very basic knowledge so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I have no such problems with Parallels.
I assume you are aware that Intuit sells Quicken 2007 for Lion, Mt. Lion and Mavericks for $15, but you want to continue to run a PC Version?

Reinstall MacFuse with the one from http://www.tuxera.com/mac/macfuse-core-10.5-2.1.9.dmg. If that doesn't work, you can use Paragon NTFS for Mac 9.0 which has been designed to work with Lion.

I cannot answer regarding compatibility, but there is no download available for PSE6 if you would need one for this. You might be able to copy the installation files from a disk to some other removable media that the machine accepts. Upgrading to PSE7 would not be possible mainly because Adobe does not sell older versions of their software.

Installing windows on a macbook air with no superdrive

I have a macbook air, install discs for windows vista and windows 7 (upgrade only), and no superdrive. I can't run bootcamp since I don't have the superdrive, and I've tried putting ISO's / IMG's on a hard drive (bootcamp work around) but nothing has seemed to work. Can I insert the install disks into a friends mac and use air drop to somehow cause my computer to think the install disk is inside it? How would I go about this if this would work?

You have some problems:
1. You need an external optical drive to install Windows on your computer. You can't use the optical drive of another PC or Mac.
2. Boot Camp, on Lion, only supports Windows 7, and you can only install the full version legally. The upgrade edition works, but it's not legal.
Also, if you have a ISO file with Windows 7, you can use it to create a USB drive with Windows to install Windows from it, instead of buying an external optical drive. To install Windows from a USB drive, open Boot Camp Assistant, tick the option to create a Windows 7 USB drive and follow the steps

I like it very much. I use it on my iPad (and occasionally my iPhone). I'm kind of a keyboard snob actually. I tried the Apple wireless keyboard first. Apple keyboards have a short throw that hurts the tips of my fingers. They're very pretty but the on button turns on when I don't want it to and my iPad wakes up in my bag. Strike 1.
I went to a little keyboard called the Joy and it had a positive switch so I didn't have the wakeup problem. It worked well though after several months I wore it out and had to replace it with another one. I also didn't like how flat it sat and used rubber bumpers on the back. It too had a short throw that hurt my finger tips after a while but it was better than the Apple.
Then I discovered the Logitech bluetooth keyboard, the K811. This is a great keyboard. It switches between multiple targets with one press, it has a positive on/off switch, the keys light up, it's rechargeable and lasts a long time, and the slight cushioning on the keys keeps my fingers from hurting. I put the rubber bumpers on it though like the Joy because I like the keyboard to sit up a little. It's a tiny bit bigger than the other keyboards but I like it a lot, better than my MBA keyboard and better than my iMac wired keyboard. I'm trying out an after market keyboard on the iMac now but I'm thinking about switching to one of these for the iMac.
