AirDisk speed (max-upload:3MB/s, max-download:5.7MB/s)

I have setup my AEBS with external USB disk (WD Essential, 512GB). The installation and setup were very easy and I have no problems with connections from either Windows XP or OSX. And so far (I have it about a week now), everything works flawlessly and I have port mapping (NAT) set up for two different machines...
But, the download/upload speeds from/to USB drive seem low to me:
- Maximum upload speed to the external USB drive: 3MB/s (usually around 2.5MB/s)
- Maximum download speed from the external USB drive: 5.7MB/s
Did any of you guys achieve a greater speed, or is this normal?
PS: I have my AEBS setup for connection of both types (g and n)

Laptop have much better antenna than the iPad; that's why the 100Mbps.
My iPad also max out at about 35Mbps.

Portal 902. Uploaded document differs from downloaded document.

We are currently trying to set-up a portlet, which would include items (documents, images etc.). The problem we faced in that process is related to portal's storing process. We uploaded a pdf-file (Java API Guide from otn.oracle.com) as a simple file. Then, attempting to open the same file from portal, we got different errors: "the file is damaged and could not be repaired", "error reading xref entry" etc. Since these errors refer to acrobat reader and browser conflict we turned that "open in browser" option off in Adobe Acrobat. After this, the situation did not improve. Still, it was possible to download the document from the portal as a file. We downloaded the file and made a binary comparison. The result was quite intereseting since the size of both (uploaded to portal and downloaded from portal) was the same (210 Kb) but the content was different. I will add also a excerpt from that downloaded file that differed from the initial file. How could we avoid similar problems in the future? Thank you.

I am having the exact same problem on 10.1.4. I have a pdf on my desktop which opens fine in Acrobat reader (v 7.0). I upload it to my portal page as a file and when I click on the link I get the "this file is damaged and cannot be repaired" message. I downloaded the portal version of the PDF and an extra 66 bytes had been added to it.
I only get this in my live environment as the file uploaded OK in user test. I have uploaded other PDF files and they can be viewed OK.
Has anyone come across and fixed this in the six years since the original post?

Downloading extensions from the internet instead of the Safari gallery may not be a safe thing to do anyway. I downloaded the file from here > http://ultimatestatusbar.com/ then a dialog asked if I wanted to download from the internet. I for one never download extensions except from the gallery.
I found it in the gallery > https://extensions.apple.com/
Try downloading from there instead. That will download the file to your Downloads folder. Double click the file to install.

Read the technical specifications Apple posts for each model of iPhone and iPad they sell. That will provide you with all the information anyone here can provide about the devices themselves. Actual upload and download performance will depend on the specific cell carrier, the technology they use, the specific cell you happen to be connected to, and a number of other factors.

Max download speed decreased on my line.

Since the recent maintenance that BT made on their broadband service (on the weekend just gone I beleive) to "improve their broadband service" my ADSL line status downstream now reads 4,544 kpbs (capped at 0.2mbps on speed tests) When it has always been at 14,000kpbs+ since I had the line installed with no problems until this. I am a BT unlimeted customer (for a over a year with the same line and am paying my full bill for speeds that are currently only a fraction of what they have always been! I can no longer stream HD videos on the web or even watch anything on my BT vision box. Its like I'm recieving an option 1 service while paying for a option 3 service.
I called up the techys and had a 20 minute conversation which resulted in nothing except "wait 4 hours then turn off your router" as well as being told to remove my own socket cover from the wall ( I shouldnt have to do this!). I'm thoroughlly annoyed as I have jsut returned home after a night shift and have nothing to do because of the utterly abissimal speeds im getting.
Is there anyone here that can try and calrify what the problem might be please? or just tell me that my suspicions are right and BT has ruined my line suring maintenace.

connecting to the test socket is a way to make sure your router has the best connection to the exchange and also eliminates any noise on your line from your extension wiring
looking at your stats your connection time is <24hrs is that due to the router resetting or you resetting trying to get speed backl?
I think there have been numerous disconnections in a short space of time and you are now in a banded profile (nothing to do with ip profile) and if you just remain connected 24/7 for 3+ days the banding should release automatically and your connection speed will return

Increasing the Upload and if possible download speed of Linksys X3000

Hi I'd like some assitance in increasing my download an dupload speeds of my Linksys X3000.
Mian reason I want to increase them for include:
1- TwitchTV hardly ever loads properly for me, what methods can I go about to make it stream normally?

I'd like to increase my upload speed as I never manage to get a good connection with friends from the mid east and in europe and USA when I play on my PS3. As is, my upload speed based on the PS3's Network Test is between 0.5-0.7 MBPS but never goes higher than that.

Port forwarding or on turning on DMZ would help if your issue is regarding unable to connect to server and the like. If your concern is regarding slow download and upload speed, then you need to ask your internet server provider if how much speed they are giving you. In the event that the problem is with the router then you can try the following:
Upgrade the router’s firmware
Reset the router

Download speed equals upload speed from iTunes store

When downloading a movie bundle from the iTunes store the download speed I attain is being equaled by the upload speed that data appears to be going to the iTunes store. Why is this? Is there a way to dedicate bandwidth to the download instead of, what appears to be a waste of bandwidth, going right back to the iTunes store?

I have a menu bar app that shows me sends and receives, and I can see - in Activity Monitor - iTunes incrementing bytes out and in at about the same rate.

Internet Speed maxed out at 30Mbps while wireless

Guys, Gals,
My ISP provides 85Mbps service to my house. When I connect my computer straight to the Airport Extreme, I get 85-90 ALL the time.
When I connect wirelessly, I only get 30-40Mbps ALL THE TIME, this is connecting NEXT to the extreme, not even 10 inches away from the base.
Is the Airport Extreme only able to transmit a max of 30Mbps Wireless Internet?

Granting the truth of Kappy's remark, it shouldn't be as slow as you are seeing, geometal.
A quick test using a drag-and-drop copy of a couple of gigabytes of large files from a fairly old Mac Pro across ethernet to a 5th gen Extreme and by Wi-Fi to a MBP-R's internal SSD showed peaks in Activity Monitor > Network around 60Mbps and average well above 30Mbps. A network diagnostic program I run reports that it has seen instantaneous rates on this setup over 200Mbps (but also as low as 1Mbps); it gives no distribution or average. This is about 40 feet away and through a floor.
What equipment and software are you using to measure your speed? Is it possible that the limitation is in the Wi-Fi hardware of the computer?
You also haven't said anything about the Wi-Fi settings on your Extreme. Is it using 2.4GHz, 5GHz, or both? 802.11g or n? Manual or automatic channel selection?
Have you measured the level of interference and noise in your area? Granted, a one-foot connection should power past a fair amount of background chatter.

Upload Increased to Match Download Speed -... "I am still on the Slow Escalator"

Have had FiOS for quite a few years and love it. Most recently, my internet was upgraded to give me matching 75 MBPS upload speed. However, since receiving the upgrade my service became problamatic. I DJ via SAM Broadcaster and my stream was cutting out quite a bit because SAMS was sending data (Upload) faster than my internet service was sending. I broadcast at 192 kbps and because of problems had to back it down to 128 kbps because of the slow upload. Before the upgrade, my internet speed was 75 MBPS Download and 35 MBPS Upload. While it was 35 MBPS my upload speed averaged about 30 MBPS. However, after the upgrade my upload speed never gets close to 30 MBPS. It is sporatic ranging from 1 MBPS to 15 MBPS. All of this of course is wired testing direct to the Advanced FiOS Actiontec router. Did all the usual testing... Factory reset the router, changed ethernet cables, tried testing with a couple difrerent laptops and same result. I even did a self reboot of the ONT by powering it down, disconnecting the battery, then 20 min later powering back up. Once I did what I know, of course I contacted Verizon via Chat Support. They rebooted ONT, factory reset the router, had me run the optimizer etc. Did multiple tests and could not get over 6 MBPS upload. They worked with FiOS Network and did a few things. Whatever they did seemed to put me up to around 15 MBPS when I did speed tests. Of course, that was still not acceptable since I was provisioned for 75/75 service. So, they setup a dispatch. Today the FiOS Technician came out and did all the same testing. They connected directly to the ONT with a device and confirmed the same test results. That was a relief because it ruled out my computer, wiring, router, etc..etc... The FiOS Tech replaced my ONT and BHR. Once all of that was completed, retested. After multiple tests, upload was still running in the 15 to 20 MBPS range. They engaged the FSC and worked with a NT. They tried to put the service on what was called "Dummy Cross Connects" and this did not make any difference. The technician indicated it was being referred to In Home Network (IHN). After the technician worked with IHN, they ended up re-initializing the PON card my service was provisioned to. After that happened, my upload speed increased to over 50 MBPS which I could live with............ except, two hours after the technician left my upload speed has dropped back down into the 20 MBPS range. Unfortunately, the problem has not been resolved. Any suggestions from this forum would be appreciated.

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. Incoming emails using pop - max downloading issue

Dear Team,
I have connected my gmail account over pop to my mail application in macbook pro.
Totally i have 71,000 emails message in my gmail account.
First day i could able to download in bulk volumes like 1 - 800 , then 800 - 1200 something and it went till 21,000 emails on the first day.
Shut down the macbook and restarted the next day.
From second day onwards i could able to recieve only 2 or maximum 7 emails every minute, or 5 min or even 1 hours also. Made all possible changes and the mail applicaiton in my macbook pro only download 2kb / 24 kb of mails and the quantity is only about 2 or 7 max .
Kindly help me to download all 71,000 emails over pop and to cont with further new emails.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
It is possible that your email server did not, as part of the "wizard" configuration, provide the proper settings to auto-configure to the device. Therefore, I recommend you:
Remove this email configuration
Find the proper settings to use, via the EAVT or perhaps by asking your email service provider
Reconfigure this email, but use the manual/advanced screens and manually enter everything, bypassing the wizard

Can a 256K download speed /64K Upload speed work with Apple TV?

My connection speed is 256K/64K, does it work with Apple TV?

I'm sure it will work, just very slowly for accessing itunes Store content such as rentals.
I'm on a relatively slow connection of 1Mbps and I'd say a standard def 100 min movie might take 4 hours to download so you could at least quadruple that. A HD movie rental is larger and I have to download over say 10-12 hours (eg overnight for following day viewing or whilst at work), so again you could probably quadruple that.
Once a purchase/rebtal had downloaded fully it will playback normally regardless of connection speed.
Also your home network is likely to be much faster than your internet connection so anything compatible you play back via your iTunes should work fine.
Where you may see problems will be with movie trailers, YouTube and online photo access - they will work to some degree but you'd probably get a video start playing then stop/start having to rebuffer all the time (this happens to me with trailers). Online photos (eg Flickr/MobileMe) will undoubtedly work, just more slowly.
So, for compatible music/video you own and resides in itunes, playback should be fine. Rentals may take a day or a couple of days to fully download so you'd need to plan ahead - if your video store is round the corner you'd probably stick with it!
Also remember that if you are downloading a large file like a movie/movie rental it will hog your internet bandwidth and slow other internet access from your computer. You may also want to check if your ISP has download caps in place or charges per GB downloaded for example.

Does the weblogic virtual directory has a max download level?

got a web project running in a Weblogic 12c. I have my virtual directory, and inside my directory I have a 18 MB zip. So when I try to download the zip from the url I have from my virtual directory; it starts to download but halfway during the download it ends my some times when I´m at 5MB, other times when I´m at 10 MB.
I have test it in different networks and pc, but it´s always the same. So I was wondering if there is a configuration in the virtual directory on in the weblogic that restricts the amount of data that I can download. Here is my virtual directory configuration:

I have gone to the BEA web site to download the Service Pack 4. I kept getting this message: "Your session has expired. Please log in again." no matter how fast I filled out and submitted their form. I also e-mailed the BEA support to report the problem. But, I have not yet received any reply. It has been almost 24 hours since the problem was reported.
What should I do?
