Are you using the USB cable? Have you updated to the latest version of iTunes? Have you tried booting your iPad into Recovery Mode and restoring it from the latest backup?

Thank you for your question. It sounds like you are unable to see either of your devices in the sidebar of iTunes after a recent update. A number of issues could cause this type of behaviour, and would recommend starting with the troubleshooting from the article named:

If the issue is not resolved, I would next re install iTunes from either of the following articles depending on the version of Windows you have:

My MBA(mid 2011) Airdrop icon missing and can not see my iPad Mini Retina (iOS 8.0.2). What wrong ?
MBA and iPad is on same wifi network.

I have same problem. 3 iPads in the house + iMac. Airdrop works just fine except on mine. Mine simply doesn't show Airdrop anywhere. Tried every suggestion on the boards....but I don't even see an Airdrop icon....not on control panel, not under general - restrictions...nowhere.

Cannot see my iPad in iTunes on my computer

I've updated recently to OS7 on my iPad2 and updated to 11.1 on iTunes on my PC. Now I can no longer see my iPad on iTunes on my PC. I followed all instructions in the support section but still nothing shows. I never had a problem until this last update.

Thanks, I tried this but it didn't work. It turned out I had to follow the instructions for
If the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed
and update the driver this way from portable devices since there was nothing in the USB list.
Everything is back to normal.

How can i access my iPad from my macbook if the display is out? i would like to back up all my information but i cannot "allow" access on the iPad if i cannot see the iPad display. Suggestions?

Just found out that my display is hosed on my iPad 2. Connecting it to my macbook prompts me to "allow' access on the iPad 2. I cannot do so because this information is on the iPad 2 display.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Hi,
I have recently upgraded to iOS 7 on both my iPad and iPhone 4. My phone is incredibly slow, so I was intending to restore settings via iTunes, but even though it was plugged in it was saying "attach phone via USB to restore settings', and now it is not seeing my iPhone via wireless either. I noticed tonight that the same is also happening with my iPad - so unable to sync, backup, or restore from backup.
I thought it was because my phone is an old model, but my iPad was new in July last year.
I did recently upgrade to windows 8.1 so not sure if that is the issue.
Can anyone help?

ADR3 on MacBook cannot see clients' user name

I have just installed ARD 3.2 admin on a MacBook running 10.4.10, and it cannot access two servers on our network, one running 10.3.9 and the other with 10.4.9. Both have the 3.2.1 client installed. The admin console sees the clients but shows that they do not have ARD user names or passwords available, and so is unable to connect to clients. Yet I also have ARD 2.2 admin running on a different, older Mac (10.4.10) on the same network in another building, and it allows me to connect to these two servers without any problem. On both admin computers, I log in locally with the exact same account name (both full and shortcut names) and password, so they should be recognized the same on the client machines. Tried deleting clients from list on the MacBook, quitting, and relaunching--no effect.

Sorry - let me start over...
Computer 1 has internal HD, and 2 external FW HDs each with 3 partitions. When everything is fired up, I have 7 volumes mounted on the desktop of Computer 1. Computer 1 has User 1, the only account on that machine. Computer 1 is connected to Airport extreme base station via ethernet.
Computer 2 has user 2, the only account on that machine. It is wirelessly connected to the airport extreme.
I used to be able to connect from Computer 2 to Computer 1 using User 1's account info, and then chose one of the 7 volumes AND user 1 (total of 8 items listed) to mount on the desktop of Computer 2 as a network item. I could mount as many as I wanted.
Now, when I apple-K to connect from Computer 2 to Computer 1 and use user 1's account info, I am presented with a list of 2 items to mount: user 1 and a folder called postfix (for which I have no permissions).
I think this situation is exactly the same as Roastaman's problem entitled "No HD volumes, just users. What's up?"

Cannot see my ipad in itunes

The first time I tried to sync my ipad to itunes its icon appeared but then after syncing stopped.. I only have 'greyed out' music on the ipad which i cannot play.
I have since tried to sync but my ipad does not appear at all . I have tried re booting both computer and i pad to no avail. Can anyone help please.

Is there a way to activate the WiFi sync option without my device connected (iTunes/ PC cannot see my iPad 2)?

When I connect my device (iPad 2) to my PC via USB it isn't seen by both my PC and iTunes, it just charges so I know my USB isn't broke. I want to activate the WiFi sync option to sync my data on my iPad because I can't anymore. Earlier I had the option checked but I wanted to compare the speeds of syncing and I couldn't reactivate the setting.

Cannot see my Ipad on my computer when connected

I have always been able to get the videos and pictures from my ipad when I connect to my computer. Is there something in settings that I may have inadvertently touched.
My ipad is recognized when I go to itunes. I want to be able to transfer the photos and videos from my ipad to my computer.

I have MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) running Yosemite 10.10.2 version
I find a issue Using Airdrop with my iPhone 6.
I can transfer images from Macbook Pro to my iPhone 6 via Airdrop. My iPhone 6 can be seen in Macbook Pro Airdrop.
But I cannot see my MacBook Pro in my iPhone, when i try to transfer Images from iPhone to Macbook Pro.
I tries iPhone 6Plus, iPad Air, and iPad 4th Gen. But the issue is same.
I can transfer images from Macbook Pro to all other devices.
But I cannot find Macbook Pro in Airdrop screen of all other devices.
Hope to get quick solution

Hello everyone,
- I ve a MBP 2011 late.
- I've just upgrade to Yosemite.
- I want to use AirDrop to share file with IPAD mini.
- Wifi on, Bluetooth on, on both devices.
- Both devices can get the "connected" status through bluetooth but sharing file is impossible. When sending file from MBP to Ipad mini through bluetooth, it says: "your device doesn't support the....services"
- When opening Airdrop window in the Finder of my MBP, it cannot see my Ipad mini, nor the Ipad retina of one of my friend.
- Airdrop sharing is Ok between both IPAD.
- I've check system preference of the MBP.... among them: no firewall and no connection blocked in the privacy and security settings.
Anyone else with the same problem?
Anyone else have sorted out that problem ?
Does this issue come from the upgrade ?
May the next update of Yosemite resolve this issue ?
Any other idea ?

In order to transfer files between a Mac and and an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, your iOS device needs iOS 7 or later installed and your Mac needs to be a 2012 or later model. "Mac Basics: AirDrop lets you send files from your Mac to nearby Macs and iOS devices" .

TS3195 I am able to see my iphone 4 as a drive on my win8 pc, but am not able to see my ipad air. This allows me to copy files from my iphone to my pc. Why not?

When I plug my iphone inot a USB port on my windows 8 computer, it apperars as a device and I am able to see and select photos co copy to my win8 pc. When I connect my new ipad air, it does not appear. Why not?

I had photos taken with the ipad air on the ipad air.
I followed the instructions in the link you gave, for Windows 8 PC
Step 5 says to right click on the logo for my device.
I could not find a logo for the ipad air and was unable to click on "improt pictures and videos", since there was no logo.
Below are two screen captures. The first is for my ipad air and the second is for my iphone. It looks like my Windows 8 OS can see the iphones as a portable device, but cannot see the ipad air in the same way.
