Airdrop on iMac not working with iPhone 6 plus

I have iMac from 2010 running Yosemite 10.10.1 (most recent update) and a brand new iPhone 6 plus running iOS 8.1.2 (also latest version). I cannot get them to see each other to use Airdrop. In fact, when I open the Mac Finder window with Airdrop, I don't get a link called "Don't see what you're looking for?" which I understand is usually on that screen.
I don't know if this is related or not, but I also cannot connect the two via Bluetooth.

In order to transfer files between a Mac and and an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, your iOS device needs iOS 7 or later installed and your Mac needs to be a 2012 or later model.

  • Appletv remote app and airplay not working with iphone 4S

I have the latest appleTV.  I have the remote app loaded onto my ipad3 and iphone 4S.  The app is not working with iphone 4S, nor do I get the airplay icon, hence I can't mirrior my phone on appleTV.  It used to work.  I have deleted and reloaded the app, and still nothing.  It worked fined until a month ago or so.  I have enabled home sharing.
The app and airlplay are working just fine with the ipad3.  I have the ipad and appleTV hooked up to my router using 5Ghz, and the iphone only connects to the 2Ghz network on the same router.  I don't think this is the issue, because it worked before.
Also, when I click on the remote app on the iphone, to add an itunes library, a code pops up on the phone, which I enter into itunes on my Win7 PC.  Nothing seems happed on the computer when I enter the code.  Could this have anything to do with recent appleTV or itunes updates?  Any possible solutions?

It seems like I am having the same problem.
I have the latest AppleTV 1080, imac 27", ipad, ipad2, 2 iphone 4, all with the latest iOS. After I have the AppleTV connected, a few problems showed up:
    (1) ipad plus iphones cannot airplay photo to AppleTV. After the play button and the grey screen displayed "the playing msg on AppleTV", nothing happened. it is the same for ipad/iphone.
    (2) iMac not Airplay to AppleTV
    (3) Airplay Mirroring not working
    The following are done:
    - Home sharing enabled
    - To test the devices are connected. I set a passowrd for Airplay and the ipad/iphone both requested for it so they are network and devices are ok

  • $80 Apple in-ear headphones not working with iPhone 4

I spent $80 on a pair of in ear headphones and they do not work with iPhone 4. I can listen to music and talk but the volume controls are completely nonfunctional. So I used them on my friends 3GS and they work fine. How can Apple come out with a new phone that wont work with their own products? I used to love Apple until this F@#$ing iPhone 4 came out.

According to Apple, they should work with the 4... http://store.apple.com/us/product/MA850G/A?fnode=MTY1NDA1MA&mco=MTM3NTM0Mjg
Are they plugged in to your iPhone all the way?

  • AirPlay does not work with iPhone 4 s or iPad.Remote doesn´t work as well

AirPlay does not work with iPhone 4 s or iPad.Remote doesn´t work as well.
WLAN is working, I can use Youtube on my AppleTV, but I can´t connect to my computer or use airplay on my iPhone or iPad.

Something is not configured correctly that is creating issues with your AppleTV.  You can disconnect it from the TV and power, and then plug it into your computer with a micro-USB cable.  After launching iTunes on your computer, you will be able to restore it to default settings and upgrade the software.

autofocus not working on iphone 6 plus, how do i fix it?

Since you bought it a "guy", you may be in for more unpleasant surprises.  Many of the iPhones sold through private parties are stolen, and can't be used.  Assuming that's not the case...you can make an appointment with an Apple genius, and have the IMEI and serial number checked.  The Genius can tell you what the original carrier was.  You can then check with the carrier about unlocking it.  If it is unlocked, you can use any GSM carrier.

  • Griffin RoadTrip not working with iPhone 3G any more

    Hi,
my Griffin RoadTrip is not working any more with my iPhone 3G.
Always message that this accessory is not compatible with iPhone, but before, it worked and now it doesn't any more.
(On Griffin case, it's mentioned that the accessory is designed for iPhone 3G)
    any tricks for this?
    Thx

Mine was working fine for about 6 months.  Then, I started getting a "not compatible message."  I called Griffin and they suggested a soft reset of the iphone 4s.  The message went away but now the FM transmitter is not transmitting.  Griffin sent me a brand new one (free) but the FM transmitter still does not work.  That tells me that the iphone changed -- probably after an update.

  • Corporate Email does not work with iPhone

I'm not a tech wiz so my apologies if this is very elementary. My IT guy said the iPhones will not work with MS Exchange on our server. We currently support Blackberry and Windows Mobile devices such as the Q, Treos, Blackjack. He did mention that my email could work through the POP server, but it wasn't secure. I've tried setting up the POP email to pull my corporate email, but keep getting the Authentication Failure message. Any suggestions on what to try?

If Windows mobile devices can connect using ActiveSync, then your iPhone should be able to connect the same way.
I used a HTC TytnII to sync my mail, calendar et contacts. I got the iphone and entered the exact same informations (server IP adress, user name and login) and it just worked.
You need however to know the exact capitalization of your email adress, as described in your MS Exchange server. To know that, create a message in outlook, enter your name in the "to" field and double-click on your name. In the information box, you should have numerous tabs, and the last one gives you the capitalization (in the "SMTP" field).
    Good luck

What features of iOS 6 will not work with the iPhone 4s?  There are over 200 added features, but what will be missing on a 4s that you will get with a 5?

All of the features will work, however, some features wont work depending on what country you live in. If you life in America, canada or the UK you dont have to worry about anything

  • Airport not working with iPhone and iPad

    Frustrating!!!

I just developed this problem this morning with iphone and ipad.
    Never had this before.
Got an "unable to join network" error.

  • Second monitor on iMac not working with Lion

I have a mid-2011 Thunderbolt 21.5" iMac. A secondary monitor is connected to the iMac with a Mini DisplayPort-to-HDMI cable (a single cable, not an adaptor and cable).
When I was running Snow Leopard, the monitor worked just fine. After upgrading to Lion, the second monitor just has a black screen, and quickly goes into power save mode.
I have already tried resetting the NVRAM (as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379) and resetting the SMC (as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964).
Has anyone seen this problem? Any other suggestions for solutions?

same here, just performed the upgrade to Lion and my secondary Samsung screen (direct HDMI cable) do not work anymore (I have a mid 2011 iMac 21.5'').
I have tried the tricks mentioned on the following discussion:
No Signal on HDMI TV After Lion Upgrade
    ie open terminal
    cd /System/Library/Displays/Overrides/DisplayVendorID-410c/
    sudo mv DisplayProductID-0  DisplayProductID-0.old
    Reboot after entering the commands
But it is not working, the developper clearly messed up the video output in Lion OS!!!
Let me know if you have a solution, I am reduced  to single screen use in the meantime... and regret the upgrade...
    Thanks

  • Preinstall Conection 4 Ipod On Nissan Versa SL, Not work with IPhone, Why?

I bought a Nissan Versa SL, fully equiped, which comes integraded the conection cable for Ipod (which has a label to keep with the lates update).
Months later I bought an IPhone (On my understanding it is IPod and Phone in one), I plug it in my car and the system does not recognise the Iphone, It does not charge the batterie of the phone either, It does not want to play the music.
Is there anything I can do, or any explanation about this situation, why does not work?
(Of course i have to come back to the dealership looking for answers, but in the mean time), if someone has any answer or comment about it, will be gladdly appreciated.

Most auto charging systems use the FireWire pins of the dock connector to deliver power (cheaper for them, since FW can take the full 12 V of the car electrical system, whereas USB charging requires a step down to 5 V). Apple has phased out support for FireWire charging of devices. The iPhone 3G, the 2nd gen iPod Touch, and the 4th gen nano cannot use the FireWire pins for power.
The only option (unless Nissan will modify the system for you) is a power converting dongle, like one of these:

  • New MacBook Pro not working with iPhone remote

    Hi all,
I absolutely cannot get the iPhone remote app to work with itunes for whatever reason!
it's driving me crazy never had any issues on my old macbook, its defo on the same wifi, i can ping it etc, I'm faily handy with OSX and the like as i'm a software developer, so I know it's not a firewall issue and the phone is on wifi.
it just doesn't pop up to let me enter the code in iTunes under devices when I'm trying to register the Phone with the machine,
for the record the phone has been synced with the itunes library in question and I have clicked the forget all remotes button in iTunes prefs, and the 'look for iphone remotes' box is checked
so I've pretty much done everything bar uninstall itunes, is that really necessary? is it worth deleting the itunes prefs file??
    Thanks for any advice,
    Cheers,
    John

Have you tried wiping the remote app from the iphone and starting over ?
