Airdrop on ios 7 iphone 5

I've been having difficulties with Airdrop. I turn it on for everyone. I'm not able to see other people on my airdrop but they can see me on theirs. Is it because I have some sort of setting on my phone? What do I need to do to have their phone show up on my airdrop?

I recommend 2 things for this airdrop issue. First, restart the iPhone, and try again.
Restarting your iOS device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
After the device has turned off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

If the issue persists, I would next reset the network settings on your device.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords

NNot sure if anyone help you resolve this or if it works with Mavericks but with Yosemite I couldn't send From iPhone 5 or iPad mini 2 because my Macbook Pro wasn't able to be seen via AirDrop. After a grueling 4 hours with support and factory resets of both devices I was transferred to the CPU Support team, which resolved my issue in about 3 mins. Needless to say I wasn't happy but figured I should help anyone else in the same boat as me. I have both devices operating on iOS 8 and MacBook pro rubbing Yosemite.
1. Open Finder Window -> Airdrop -> Change setting for "Allow me to be discovered by:" to no one and close the finder window.
2. Go To Apple Logo -> Force Quit -> Select Finder from App List -> Force Quit.
3. Open Finder Window -> Airdrop -> Change setting for "Allow me to be discovered by:" to everyone and try to send file from iPad / iPhone to computer.
This process allowed the computer to be seen / recornized on the iOS deVice. Hope this helps.

AirDrop for iOS requires iPhone 5 or later.

Not unless you have the previous owner's AppleID and password or can contact them.

To start with, I really need some simple, definative examples of building a Facebook app for the iPhone using Flash Pro CS5.5+AS3 + iOS (iPhone).
There are endless examples for nearly every platform on the planet - except this one, and in nearly every language except Flash Pro CS5.5+AS3 + iOS (iPhone).

and after all is authorized, the webview closes, and the user then only has to tap a button, and a pre-formatted string is posted to their newsfeed, any time they press the Post to Facebook button, the updated string will be posted.
Simple really. I don't want lists of friends, photos images or even to be able to read the newsfeed - just post to it.

the project panel is just a convenience panel for you to use to access your flash project's files without using a file browser. it has nothing to do with your publish settings.
if you don't see a great need to forego using your file browser, join the crowd. the project panel was an idea with no great benefit.
someone probably made a big to-do about it and got enough people to vote for the feature so adobe added the feature. and then found nobody cared so, it's not going to be in the next flash pro version.

Hola Mailen, prueba con lo siguiente: Abre Ajustes > General > resetear > resetear ajustes de red. A ver si reseteando los ajustes de red consigues conectarte a la red de WiFi. Lo otro que también puedes hacer es reiniciar el router de Wifi que estés utilizando. Esas dos cosas deben ser suficientes para que recuperes el poder conectarte a WiFi.
En cuanto a la batería, una vez hayas hecho lo anterior, intenta resetear el iPhone. Aprieta los dos botones el de encendido que está arriba y el redondo simultaneamente y espera unos 10 o 15 segundos hasta que aparezca el logo de Apple. Entonces suelta los dos botones y espera a que el iPhone se encienda de nuevo.
Espero que estas dos cosas te ayuden a resolver el problema.

AirDrop broken on iPhone 5s and iPad Air on iOS 7.1

AirDrop is not working on either my iPhone 5s or iPad Air. I go into a Share Sheet, press the AirDrop icon, which is supposed to turn on AirDrop, and nothing happens. Even if I go to Control Center and try to turn it on from there, nothing happens. This is happening on BOTH my devices running iOS 7.1.

I had exact same issue on my 5s and 5 after updating to 7.1. I solved it by connecting them physically to the computer with iTunes running. Apparently after 7.1 there's a new requirement asking if you 'trust' the computer that the phone is connected to. Make sure you hit 'Trust' on the iPhone after the question pops up. Disconnect the phone afterward and restart it. AirDrop should work again (the circles in AirDrop should be in blue). Give it a try. Good luck.

I Updated my macbook ( mid 2012) to osx yosemite and was able to send files from my mac to iphone 5s and ipad mini both running ios 8.0.2
but if i want to send files from my iphone or ipad to my mac the mac doesnt appear on both my iphone and ipad tried to reboot all the devices and set visibility to everyone still not working.

Try updating your iOS device (iPhone) to iOS 8.1 first. I had the same issue as you until upgrading the iPhone iOS.

Airdrop after iOS 8 upgrade

HI,
I have recently updated my iPad mini to iOS 8 and noticed a bad behavior when transfering photos to my iPhone 5s.
the problem is that everytime I try to share a set of photos, only few (4 in my last attempt, when 6 photos were selected) are sent to the iPhone although it says that all the photos were received.
I Have repeatidly tried it with no hope receiving the whole set, except when only 1 photo is shared.
Note that my iPhone is also running iOS 8 and I have never had this problem with iOS 7.

as i known , AirDrop only available for iphone 5 above with IOS7 , at the moment i can send & pairing well with others iphone 5 devices with IOS 7 above, but after my iphone 5S had upgraded to firmware 8.0.2 the connection failed to search any nearby iphones 5/5S devices nearby even if the AirDrop were set to everyone instead of contact only

I looked at the iOS 7 website and it says that the iPad 2 doesn't get AirDrop, but the iPad with Retina Display does. I have an iPad 3. Is the iPad 3 the same as the iPad with Retina Display, or do both the iPad 3 and iPad 4 get AirDrop?

Airdrop on IOS 7 changes the name on my devices

i have the iphone 5 and ipad mini. since updating to the new IOS 7 i have been having trouble finding my devices. at first it showed my daughters name on both devices when trying to share photos. i rebooted and tried again and it showed my devices correctly. i closed the app and tried again and it showed my wifes name on both devices and thats how it stayed. i tried everything from changin the devices names, changing setting in icloud online and changing contacts but nothing worked. i even synced the devices several times and still the same. i read other forums online where others were having the same issue and said that it worked itself out, but mine still the same. i think airdrop should pick up the device name and not contact if thats what its doing. i am i the process of updating my kids ipod 5, iphone 4s and my wifes ipad 2 and iphone 5 to c if theire devices change names too or stay the same, but for now its my 2 devices.

all devices are working correctly but one still shows my name and picture. the transfers still go to that device but it has the wrong name. when i go to general and about it has my daughters name ipod on it but airdrop still displays my name and picture. i hope that the new OS X mavericks doesnt have this priblem.
