It is flashing because it is in use, i.e. it is either syncing or you are running antivirus/antispyware software that is scanning it.
OR it's been enable for data...
BTW, it still charges while flashing orange. You can EJECT it in iTunes OR
"remove hardware safely" in the system tray.

  • Z10 keep flasing red light for 2 days now

Hello my BBZ10 has been been blinking red light continously for about 2 days now and it wont power on, I am so heartbroken any help on how I can get all my data out please or how can I make it work again.

Have you tried holding the power button down for a minute or so?
Have you tried leaving it plugged in on a wall charger for a few hours, then removing the battery and putting it back while device is still plugged in?
If you have tried the above, then I would try a clean OS reload. http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB34045

    Hmmmm.
If you reset the AirPort Extreme by holding in the reset button for 9-10 seconds and then releasing, the AirPort should be back in default settings which would allow mutliple computers to connect to the LAN ports on the AirPort.
Power off the cable modem for now and leave it off at least 15 minutes.
With the AirPort Extreme still powered on, hold in the rest button on the back for 9-10 seconds and release. Allow a full minute for the AirPort Extreme to restart to a slow, blinking abmer light.
Then, power off the AirPort Extreme.
Check to make sure that the Ethernet cable from the modem is connected to the WAN "O" port on the AirPort Extreme.
After the modem has been powered off for at least 15 minutes, power it up and let it run for 5 minutes by itself.
Now, power up the AirPort Exteme and let it run for 2-3 minutes
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Connect an Ethernet cable from your Mac to one of the LAN <-> ports on the AirPort Express
Click on the AirPort Exteme, then click Continue to follow the guided setup tp configure the AirPort Extreme.  You can use the same wireless network name, password, etc that you used before, or set up a new name and password, etc.

  • Orange light keeps flashing - but all seems to be OK!

    HI,
just got an Airport Extreme Basestation and I set it up with no trouble and everything (for now the internet...have to check the printers and drives soon) runs OK. So why is the orange light still flashing? It says in the manual that it has no connection to the network - but then I shouldn´t have internet access...?
Also - how can I check if I have the fastest setting on my Airport station. I´m in Germany and the fastest n-version is - as far as I known - not allowed because of interference and some stuff. I´m afraid that when I have choosen Germany in the station-setup that it gave me the "weak" setting. Which setting / channel is he fastest?
    Thanks in advance

So why is the orange light still flashing?
A persistent, flashing amber light indicates that any of several potential conditions may require your attention:
    - The base station has not yet been configured because it is new, or the reset switch has been set.
    - You have selected a security configuration that is not recommended.
    - One of several other conditions, such as a disconnected ethernet cable or invalid IP address has been detected.
    (ref: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305101)
Also - how can I check if I have the fastest setting on my Airport station.
Theoretically, the "802.11n only (5 GHz)" radio mode would provide the best throughput performance. Of course, all wireless devices connected would have to support this mode to not cause any throughput degradation. The next best would be "802.11n only (2.4 GHz)."

  • I can no longer access my Airport Express Base Station. When I plug it in, it keeps flashing orange. I cannot see it in the Airport Utility.

    How do I fix this

If you're comfortable resetting all settings, unplug it, hold down the reset button and keep holding it in as you plug it back in - keep holding it for another 10-20s until the amber light flashes
Then, open airport utility, now you should be able to see the device either on-screen or in the upper left under 'other wi-fi devices'

  • First Generation Shuffle_Blinking Orange Light Only

I have had this First Generation Suffle since they first came out.
I keep it set to Enable Disc Mode.
It has worked great until I let someone drag a file from my Shuffle to their iBook. Since then all I get is the Blinking Orange Light.
Now, when I plug it into either of my two iMacs, all it does is blink the Orange light.
It won't launch iTunes as it usually does.
When I launch iTunes with it plugged in (I tried it every USB port on two iMacs), iTunes just spins the Spinning Ball of Death.
When I pull the Shuffle out of the USB port, iTunes launches normally.
Anyone have an opinion as to why these symptoms persist?

Have you tried the Shuffle Reset Utility which will basically update your Shuffle firmware to 1.1.5?

  • Blinking orange light

I plugged my ipod in to charge it as i have done before. It does not seem to be charging it has been plugged in for three days and the orange light just keeps blinking. I am clueless on ipods and what to do. All I know is that you are not meant to disconnect it when the light is blinking....what should I do?

The status light will blink orange as long as your iPod is mounted as a volume on your computer.
Open iTunes and 'eject' the iPod from there. The status light will then stop blinking and turn to either steady orange or steady green.
If you don't use your iPod for data storage, you can set up iTunes to eject it automatically by deselecting the option "Enable disk use" in the iPod settings. However, this will only work when iTunes is running, so make sure that the option "Open iTunes when this iPod is connected" is selected.

  • Flashing grean and orange light

i charged my new ipod shuffle over night and when i went to get it this morning i pressed play and it flashed green then orange then green then orange and it did that about 4 tiems before it stopped .. with no music playing or anything ... what should i do?

I keep getting the flashing orange and green light
then when i press and hold on the play button i only
get a constant orange light ! I have tried resetting,
restoring everything but i still getthesame message !
I am trying to sync from windows media player - does
anyone know how I can export this music onto itunes
    ????Please help !!!!
Import it into iTunes or burn it to CD as mp3 and Import/Add to iTunes library...
Regarding the lights: green and orange flashing sequence means you have NO playable music on your Shuffle.
Pressing and holding PLAY locks the Shuffles controls, signified by the orange light.
    Have you read the manual?

  • Only a blinking orange light!!

We can't get our ipod shuffle (2nd gen.) to do anything. We have a nano that works great, have itunes already installed for that. When we plug in the dock for the shuffle, the computer makes a noise to show it's there but nothing happens, the orange light just keeps blinking on the shuffle. We didn't even get the Setup Assistant. We tried reinstalling itunes, we've registered the shuffle, we've tried a different USB port...still the blinking orange light and nothing else. ANY ideas???????

We found an answer. Our Dell - has several drives
and a card reader that assume the first few letters
of the alphabet. In addition we are part of a larger
network that also assigns drive letters for network
shares that are toward the front of the alphabet.
Apparently the I-pod is limited to those same few
    initial letters.
A tech friend of ours some how manually reassigned
the 4 drives associated with the card reader to drive
letters at the end of the alphabet.

  • Orange light on router

i have got a constant flashing orange @ light on my router, it's a Sagem F@ST2504a4G. When i turn on the power (i dont have the power on when it's not in use) for the router and my pc, it wont connect and the said light is flashing. If i shut it down again it will eventually connect after several attempts. I have checked all connections and done a reboot of the router all with no sucess, this has been happening everytime i want to go online for the last week. if i put a phone into the socket used it works fine. Any suggestions?

It could well be then that yours issue is unrelated then and just a coincedence or that the outage issue is more widespread than first thought.
The only advice is to keep on at them to fix it(use the Sky service app for Android or Apple smartphones if you can as you can request a call back from it should the call wait time be longer than 2 minutes).

  • K9N2 SLi Platinum Blinking Orange Light

    Hello All,
New to the forums and was hoping you could shed some light on this problem im having, purchased recently a MSi K9N2 Platinum m/b, Installed it, hit power and nothing, No fans, Just a blinking orange light in the bottom RT corner of the m/b ...The manual says the LED lamp is the Standby lamp, It keeps blinking every half second non stop. I Jump started my PSU to make sure it was working and it is, could not check the Amps though, no meter :(
I read about the Dual rail topic also, i see 12V1 and 12V2 on the PSU does that mean it's dual rail? or does it even matter? Bottom line is I can't get the m/b to fire up. Sorry for the newbish questions all and Thanks in advance.
    System Specs
    Windows Vista X64
    AMD Phenom 9850 X4 2.5Ghz
    OCz 850W PSU
    Evga 8800GTX 768mb Graphics card
    4 gigs memory (X2 Patriot & X2 OCz 800Mhz)
    Soundblaster XF-i Soundcard

What about VGA power cables? Are they plugged in too?
    Else:
Test the motherboard outside of the case to verify that the motherboard is not shorting to the case and causing a problem
         •    With only the CPU and heat sink, memory, and video card (or onboard video) connected to the motherboard, place the motherboard on a non-conductive surface and retest the motherboard
         •    Check the case mounting standoffs to verify that they are lining up correctly with the mounting holes on the motherboard.
If still no change try with another and powerfull enough PSU.

  • My AE just keep blinking orange even after factory reset. Does this means the thing is pass its useful life,

My AE just keep blinking orange even after several resets. Ths thing is about 4 years old. Is it pass its usefullife?

Actually, a flashing amber (blinking orange) status light is normal for just after performing a reset. It just indicates that any of the several potential conditions may require your attention:
The base station has not yet been configured because it is new, or the reset switch has been set.
You have selected a security configuration that is not recommended.
One of several other conditions, such as a disconnected Ethernet cable or invalid IP address has been detected.
    (ref: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305101)
If you run the AirPort Utility, it will show an amber circle on the summary page next to the area(s) causing the problem. Click on this amber circle and it should provide an explanation.

  • Laserjet 1300 with blinking orange light

Got a laserjet 1300 with a blinking orange light.  When restarting, motor works.  I have cold-booted and reset all wiring. What's wrong?

When you set it to +manage manually+, iTunes keeps the iPod (as a storage device) mounted. Therefore, +enable disk use+ is also checked because that is the setting where you have to formally eject the iPod before disconnecting it.
If you have it set to sync (uncheck the +manage manually+ setting), iTunes automatically un-mounts the iPod (as a storage device) when iTunes is not syncing. Therefore, you are allowed to disconnect the iPod without clicking on eject first. But if you want to use the iPod as a storage device, you have the option to +enable disk use+ (and use the sync setting)

  • Blinking Orange Light Continues After Synch Is Complete

The manual says that when the orange light is blinking "when blinking do not disconnect"
the blinking orange light stays on continuously after synch with Itunes.
    Is this an issue?
