Aironet 2700 Global Configuration

I have an Aironet 2700i wireless AP that will not allow me to enter global configuration mode. The "invalid character" error appears with the karat at the 'o' each time. I am no longer sure if it's operator error or if there is an issue with the AP.

I agree with George.
Looks like you have a Lightweight image on the AP.
You can issue a show version, and if the Access Point shows a software version mention the letters K9W8, means that you have a Lightweight AP and this can only work with a Wireless Controller.
If you want this AP to work in autonomous or standalone mode, you have two options:
- Replace it with your reseller, for an autonomous AP
- Convert it from Lightweight to Autonomous.
You can try doing the conversion yourself, just follow the instructions on this post:

Hope this helps

  • Global Configuration Mode (Aironet 2600i)

    Hello to all,
    It's my first time in the forum, I thank any help possible. I bought a Cisco Wireless AIR-CAP2602i-E-K9 and have some practice on Cisco routers, but can not log in "Global Configuration Mode", not existe the command "Configure". How active configuration? Thank you for your attention.
    Helio Viegas

    Hello Helio,
    As per your query i can suggest you the following solution-
    Cisco IOS Command Modes
    The Cisco IOS user interface is divided into many different modes. The commands available to you depend on which mode you are currently in. Enter a question mark (?) at the system prompt to obtain a list of commands available for each command mode.
    When you start a session on the access point, you begin in user mode, often called user EXEC mode. Only a limited subset of the commands are available in user EXEC mode. For example, most of the user EXEC commands are one-time commands, such as show commands, which show the current configuration status, and clear commands, which clear counters or interfaces. The user EXEC commands are not saved when the access point reboots.
    To have access to all commands, you must enter privileged EXEC mode. Normally, you must enter a password to enter privileged EXEC mode. From this mode, you must enter privileged EXEC mode before you can enter the global configuration mode.
    Using the configuration modes (global, interface, and line), you can make changes to the running configuration. If you save the configuration, these commands are stored and used when the access point reboots. To access the various configuration modes, you must start at global configuration mode. From global configuration mode, you can enter interface configuration mode and line configuration mode.
    For more information please refer to the link-

    Hope this will help you.

    Hello Seng,
    Please try the following:
    -Log into netweaver as administrator. http://server:50000/nwa.
    -Go to operation managment>systems>start&stop-->Java EE Applications.
    1-search for tcwddispwda .If the status is "stopped" .Select it and start it.Refresh until the status is "running"
    2-search for xappsmeintegration~ui and do the same.
    3-search for the rest of xapps~ and make sure they run.
    once that the apps are running retry.
    If this doesn't help,retry the error,go to the log viewer and look for the last errors content,they may give you a hint about what is failing.
    Hope this helps,

  • Load global configurations (currencies, units, etc) into BW using Process C

    In BW side we can load global configurations (like currencies, units, etc) using RSA1, selecting Source System, right click global configurations then load global configurations.
    How can we do it using process chain, so we can make it an automatic process that runs periodically ?
    César

    Sorry for taking such a time to answer.
    As I have no practive, it took me some time to understand how to work with Process Chain using programs RSIMPCURR (Transfer Exchange Rate) and RSIMPCUST (Transfer of Global Settings), specially creating the variants.
    But not clear how to schedulle directly using RSA1 -> SourceSystem -> Transfer Exchange Rate (or Transfer Global Settings) -> menu Program  ->  Execute in Background.
    It brings to me a window Background Print Parameters, where I can define things like Output Device, Print from Page and so on.
    Didn't find anything like defining a periodic run of this loading.
    Can you clear this point ???
    Thanks
    César

  • SABnzbd global configuration, not starting download

    I have followed the Wiki article for installing and configuring SABnzbd and the global configuration section mentions that it is controlled by the sabnzbd daemon.
    The install script finishes saying that I should run
    xdg-mime default sabnzbd.desktop applications/x-nzb
    to have .nzb file associate with sabnzbd.
    I have followed the section for configuring https access to sabnzbd, global configuration.
    My /etc/systemd/system/sabnzbd.service looks like
    [Unit]
    Description=SABnzbd binary newsreader
    After=network.target
    [Service]
    ExecStart=/opt/sabnzbd/SABnzbd.py -l0
    User=sabnzbd
    Group=sabnzbd
    PIDFile=/run/sabnzbd/sabnzbd-9090.pid
    [Install]
    WantedBy=multi-user.target
    As an extra step I added my user to the sabnzbd group. I then started the sabnzbd.service and pointed my browser at https:/localhost:9090/ which immediately re-directs to the sabnzbd wizard, as expected. After completing the wizard sabnzbd restarts and I can go to the main download page.
    When I choose a .nzb file to download and firefox prompts me to open it with sabnzbd. Sabnzbd doesn't do anything, it's status remains at idle.
    I have tried getting this working on my laptop for days! What step have I {missed out,done wrong}?. All commands completed without any errors. I am relatively new to Linux and Arch and I enjoy working out how to get my computer to do what I want it to do. Frustratingly I have sabnzbd working on my main machine, (also running Arch) but I cant access it...
    My internet connection (120Gbs+Netflix+CableTV) will be out of action for about 3-4 weeks and I need to urgently download some resources to keep me occupied as it gets disconnected tomorrow (house move - reason why I cant access my desktop).

    firecat53 wrote: ... set up a watched folder in sabnzbd and just download the nzb file directly into there.
    I have tried to do that but sabnzbd, for some reason wont let me navigate beyond /home/cdr i.e. I cant see any directories or files within my home folder.
    In writing this I have had an epiphany; is this behaviour because my home folder permissions are set to 700? My sabnzbd runs as user: sabnzbd and group: sabnzbd. What would be the recommended method to allow it access into my ~/Downloads/ ?
    Edit #1: If I allow sabnzbd to read my home folder I think autostart should work... chmod 744 my ~ ? (it didn't)
    Edit #2:I chmod -R 744 ~Downloads/ but after restarting the sabnzbd.service it, I still cannot navigate lower than /home/cdr/ when trying to set a watched folder.

  • Global configuration command: radius-server

    Hi all,
    the goal is to authenticate users logging in to a 2950 switch running IOS 12.1(22)EA2 to a MS IAS radius server.
    Following the configuration guide, there should be a command radius-server in global configuration mode but I think this command is not available..
    anyone has a clue on why this command is not available?
    thanks!
    Maarten.

    Hi,
    I believe you have to define the radius server first WITHIN your AAA configuration before you enter it globally.
    Example:
    aaa new-model
    aaa authentication login eap_methods group rad_eap
    aaa group server radius rad_eap
    server *.*.*.* auth-port 1645 acct-port 1646
    radius-server host *.*.*.* auth-port xxx acct-port xxx key xxx

  • Global Configuration Directory

    I have installed the latest version (1.5.1 build 5440) on Ubuntu 8.04 64 bit.
    If i launch the application from the terminal it allows me to set up connections from the tnsnames.ora file.
    If I launch it from the menu it does not. It appears that my environment variables (such as TNS_ADMIN) are not used when I launch the application from the menu.
    The User Guide refers to the Global Configuration Directory but does not say where or what it is.
    Please point me in the right direction.
    Regards;
    Robert

    Chris;
    Yes all my environmental variables are set in .bashrc. I created a .bash_profile and even a .profile with all the relevant Oracle environmental variables. There is no difference.
    Is there a file like <sqldeveloper_home>/sqldeveloper/bin/sqldeveloper.conf where I can set the TNS_ADMIN path in the same way that I set the JAVA_PATH?
    Can I set it in the <sqldeveloper_home>/sqldeveloper/bin/sqldeveloper.conf file, and if so what would I call it?
    I have tried setting TNS_ADMIN in the sqldeveloper.conf file, it did not work.

  • AIRONET 1310 BRIDGE CONFIGURATION

    Hi I desperately need help. I am trying to configure 2 Aironet 1310s as Root bridge and non-Root bridge. When I configure the root bridge the wireless interface remains up.When I try to configure the non-root bridge the AP/Bridge will assume the role of non-root bridge and immediately disable the wireless interface with line potocol down .I tried swapping the roles and still get the same proble. I am running IOS version 12.4(10b)JA

    Hi
    I finally made a breakthrough. The issue here is the internal antannae. It seems it does not work well. I tried to use the antannae from the linksys wireless router and enabled them, I one time got the radios associate. I connected to the network and was able to ping the Pcs on each end of the network.
    Now what I am interested in finding out is why those radios cannot work with the internal antannae. The model I have is AIR-BR-1310-E-K9-R.Is this designed to come with an internal antanna. I was able to pick one bar from my laptop from within 5 metres from the bridge. so what is the issue with these radios.

  • AIRONET 350 - Duplicating configuration to a replacement

    I have a problem with one of our AP it's a aironet 350, what is the easiest way to copy it's configuration to a replacement device of the same type.
    I have just took over from out wireless guy who is off long term sick and I'm in at the deepend.
    Regards
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
    I have actually never tried this myself, but here is a good doc that discusses this process. Maybe somebody else will weigh in as well :)
    Working with Configuration Files
    This section describes how to create, load, and maintain configuration files. Configuration files contain commands entered to customize the function of the Cisco IOS software. To better benefit from these instructions, your access point contains a minimal default running configuration for interacting with the system software.
    You can copy (download) configuration files from a TFTP, FTP, or RCP server to the running configuration of the access point for various reasons:
    To restore a backed-up configuration file.
    To use the configuration file for another access point. For example, you might add another access point to your network and want it to have a configuration similar to the original access point. By copying the file to the new access point, you can change the relevant parts rather than recreating the whole file.
    To load the same configuration commands on all the access points in your network so that all the access points have similar configurations.
    You can copy (upload) configuration files from the access point to a file server by using TFTP, FTP, or RCP. You might perform this task to back up a current configuration file to a server before changing its contents so that you can later restore the original configuration file from the server.
    From this AP350 doc;

  • Cisco Aironet 1130AG WPA2 Configuration

    Hi everyone,
    First of all, let me introduice myself. I just graduated as an IT-engineer and started working in a company who gives support to their users, but also does installations. One day a week I am permanent located with 1 customer. I give support to users, but also implement new systems. I really love networking, but it's really not my strongest point. Especcialy when it comes to CLI. So I was hoping you could help me.
    With this customer they have 4 floors with on each floor a Cisco Aironet 1130AG. At the moment they are using WEP as a protection with a really long key. The users find this annoying, but I am more concerned about the security perspective. So I want to implement WPA2 with a shorter key for the people to remember. On one floor, I also want to add a public network when other people want to connect and just need internet access.
    Is it possible you guys could help me change the current set-up and give advices regarding the security and implementation. For me I would be great if all of the Access Points could work togheter and just be 1 wireless network. I don't know if this is possible and how to do it? For the public network I know there also need to be some changes in VLAN's, so I would appreciate the help there for setting up trunks. The firewall is a cisco ASA5505.
    At the moment I am running this configuration:
    I tried setting up this with the GUI, but it doesn't look like the configuration at the moment is shown in the GUI or maybe I am just looking in the wrong places.
    Thanks again for helping me configure this!! Much appreciated!

    we currently have 3 aironet 1600 ap's  configured with the exact same configuration file. these ap's are within 50-75 feet of each other. at various times dhcp seems to stop functioning. i wondering if only one of the ap's should be configured as dhcp server. all three have the same dhcp configuration as follows:

     dns-server 4.2.2.1 4.2.2.2
    can someone please help !!!!!!!

    no, there is nothing you need to do on the AP.
    DHCP is a broadcast, so if the AP BVI and the clients are on the same subnet the DCHP service will respond to the packet.
    If the clients are on a different VLAN than the BVI, you will need to add an ip helper to your L3 interface pointing at the BVI address of the AP that is doing the DHCP.

    1.SAPMEINT_ProcessedDocDirectory - a valid existing directory where the processed inbound documents are place -example C:/VERPSFI_OUTPUT/processed
    Question: Which server does it means? Is this folder should exist in MII odr ME box?
    2. Under configuring SAPMEINT workflow, there are parameters like BOMMAT and other request for "Request /Response XM Save Directory"
    Question: Which server does it means? MII oder ME box?
    3. Under Configuring Supported SAP ME Plants
    Question: Plant? Is this plant MII site? or ERP plant?
    I am using installation guide from SAP ME 5.2 (page 42-44)
    thanks
    sengkiang

    Hello, Seng Kiang,
    1. There is no strong requirement where this directory should exist. You just need to specify the path to it correctly (even using network names).
    2. BOMMAT - is a message type for BOM. I believe you can find more useful information for you here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mii121/helpdata/en/43/e80b59ad40719ae10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm
    3. Plant is a Site which is created in Site Maintenance (ME). ERP also should be configured to send data to the corresponding Palnt (Site).
    Regards,
    Alex.

  • Global configuration of OSX

    Hi,
    Is there a way (without controlling preferences via an Xserve/OSX Server software) to globally set preferences for a client computer so that each account that logs in will have the same interface?
    I'm configuring a lab of computers that will be bound to our AD domain. I need to set Dock applications and configure the Sidebar so that network shares aren't visible for all users logging in.
    Can this be done globally while installing the system? I really need to hide the sidebar.
    Thanks,
    Alan

    Not AFAIK, the decision of white and black lists is also user configured, not admin configured.
    You probably want to do some blocking of those requests directly on your network devices.
