Aironet 3600 series and Controller 4400 series

Hi all,
Can Controller 4400 series work with Aironet 3600 series?

Are there any plans to have a 7.1 or 7.2 version for the 4400 controllers or does it not have enough processor/memory to support the 3600's
The 4400 does not have enough "grunt" (CPU power) and memory to support either the 7.1.X and 7.2.X firmware.
Since the announcement of the end-of-sale for the 4400-family, the only thing Cisco will release for the 4400 for engineering releases.  Cisco will no longer be releasing new-feature firmware for this hardware.

    Hi,
Does the power supply from aironet 3600 series, AIR-CAP3602I-A-K9 is compliant with french voltage ?
Is it 110-220 input ? How to have a standart french plug or adapter if i bought this item in US ?
Does this hardware can be used in France regarding authorized wireless frequency 2.4 and 5 GHz (802.11a/b/g/n/ac) ?
Do you know if it exist any kind of HWIC module with same wireless performance that it can be used with G2 ISR Router (19xx/29xx/39xx) or previous generation ISR (18xx/2xx/38xx) ?
    Best Regards.

Does the power supply from aironet 3600 series, AIR-CAP3602I-A-K9 is compliant with french
If you enable this AP, you are likely breaking French law.  This AP is configured to be use with "-A" Regulatory Domain.
    France should be using "-E".
Power supply issue ... 3600 will work with 15.4w PoE as long as you don't add modules.  If you do, you need 20.0w PoE.
You have three choices:  PoE switch, Power Injector 3 or Power Brick.
Edit:  Just re-read your post about "802.11a/b/g/n/ac" so this confirms you need 20.0 PoE.  So the same choices are still applicable:  PoE+ switch, Power Injector 3 or Power Brick.

  • 4 Aironet 1250's and a controller?

    Hi guys,
I'm about to order a four Aironet 1250's and a 2106 Wireless LAN Controller. From what I've read, I'll need the controller to manage the APs if I want them all to offer the same broadcast domain and subnet, and offer roaming to the users. Often times what I read and understand turns out to have little to do with reality, so my question is, am I correct about this?
    Thanks in advance!

These hardware features are not supported on 2000  and 2100 series controllers:
•Power over Ethernet (PoE) [2000 series  controllers only]
Note Ports 7 and 8 on 2100 series  controllers are PoE ports.
•Service port (separate out-of-band  management 10/100-Mbps Ethernet interface)
These software features are not supported on 2000 and 2100 series  controllers:
•VPN termination (such as IPSec and  L2TP)
•Termination of guest controller tunnels  (origination of guest controller tunnels is supported)
•External web authentication web server  list
    •Layer 2 LWAPP
    •Spanning tree
    •Port mirroring

  • Adding 3600 Series to WLC 5508

    Hello Folks,
I have a 5508 controller with a bunch of 3600 Series APs. I did all the basic config on the controller and added all the APs through distribution port #1. Now I was trying to config a second interface ( port #2) and use it for the Guest SSID on a separate VLAN. After I rebooted the controller, it dumped all the APs. I would like to know if this is normal, If I need to enroll the APs everytime I reboot the controller. Thanks!

Your setup is wrong. If you use port 2 for a specific vlan then you have to disable LAG. You will then have to specify the primary port for management as port 1 and no backup port. Then on the dynamic interface for the guest you specify port 2 as the primary and no backup port. On the switch you need to create two trunk ports and only allow the vlan for that port. The switch that connects to port 1 for management would allow only the management vlan. Port 2 would allow only the guest vlan.

  • HP Color LaserJet 3600 series (VISE Installer)

    Hi everyone,
I made the mistake of using the VISE Installer that HP suggests as a download for the HP Color LaserJet 3600 series printer. I installed it, and then couldn't figure out why I still couldn't see this printer driver. After reading http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303057#hpdrivers and learning that the "driver" included for the Color LaserJet 3600 is not a "Modern Driver", I realized that installing the VISE installer from HP does me no good.
    Now, I have two questions:
    1) How can I uninstall this stuff that HP crammed onto my system? The VISE Installer seems like its a blast from the pre-OS X past, and doesn't appear to offer any sort of uninstallation. Do I need to write up a shell/AppleScript to read the log it writes to my / and remove the files manually? (I'd rather not do that, but I will if I have to).
    2) Is there a PPD that anyone knows of for this printer? I'd like to be able to print to it over our network, and I need a "Modern driver" (i.e. PPD) to do that.
    Thanks dudes!

To get a modern driver, you'll have to install a few open source packages. Try hpijs and ESP ghostscript from here:
    http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/hpijs/
(I think you have to use the 3500 model choice/PPD).
If that doesn't work, you'll have to compile the driver:

  • Cisco Aironet 1300 series

    Hello,
i have 2 cisco aironet 1300 series configured as root bridge and non root bridge, i managed to configure them and they are associating only when they adjacent , when i separate them them communication fail , could you please help me to solve this . thx

Those are very old bridges. So if they are still functioning okay, do they require external antennas or not and do you have external antennas if they do?

  • Trouble with Aironet 1300 series

I have a cisco aironet 1300 series and i need to reset it back to factory default.  the directions say push the mode button while the access point is off and then turn it on while the mode button is down...
i don't see one button on this thing anywhere.
    help needed

    Hi Jim,
The 1310 bridge/injector do not have a mode button for configuration reset. However, you can reset the configuration if you use the console port on the injector:
    1) Connect console port and power-cycle unit
    2) When IOS starts loading, hit ESC key twice to get to the boot-loader prompt
    3) At the boot-loader prompt show a directory of the flash filesystem (dir  flash:)
    4) Delete or rename the files "config.txt" and "env_vars", then boot the  system ("delete flash:/config.txt" "delete flash:/env_vars")
(The default user/pass should be Cisco/Cisco)

  • Cisco Aironet 1300 Series Power

Can the 1310ap receive it's power from a POE switch?

    Hi Edward,
Sadly the 1310 cannot be powered by PoE ,but, the Power Injector can be up to 100 meters away from the unit.
Dual coaxial cable to run from the power injector to the 1300. See attached notes:
    Cisco Aironet 1300 Series
Cisco Aironet 1300 Series Access Point/Bridge Power Injector
The Cisco Aironet 1300 Series Outdoor Access Point/Bridge Power Injector, converts the standard 10/100 BaseT Ethernet interface that is suitable for weather protected areas to a dual F-Type connector interface for coax cables that are more suitable for harsh outdoor environments. The Power Injector also provides power to the outdoor unit over the same cables with a power discover feature and surge protection. To support longer cable runs from your wireless network switch or router, the Power Injector LR is designed to accommodate up to a 100 meter coaxial cable run plus 100 meters of indoor cat5 cable?enabling total cable runs up to 200 meters. The Cisco Aironet 1300 Series Outdoor Access Point/Bridge ships with the Power Injector LR2 and an AC power supply.

    Ethernet Ports
The access point/bridge dual-coax Ethernet ports consists of a pair of 75-ohm F-type connectors, linking the unit to your 100BASE-T Ethernet LAN through the power injector. The dual-coax cables are used to send and receive Ethernet data and to supply inline 48-VDC power from the power injector to the access point/bridge.
    Power
The access point/bridge receives inline power from the Cisco Aironet Power Injector (hereafter called the power injector). Dual-coax cables are used to provide Ethernet data and power from the power injector to the access point/bridge. The power injector is an external unit designed for operation in a sheltered environment, such as inside a building or vehicle. The power injector also functions as an Ethernet repeater by connecting to a Category 5 LAN backbone and using the dual-coax cable interface to the access point/bridge.

  • Cisco Aironet 1310 series

    hello all,
I have a cisco Aironet 1310 series which am having problem with the signal strength. This box came with 8 dbi Omni antenna gain and am told this can go upto 5km raduis. After configuring this equipment, i could not get a link when i move 500 meters. Please find attached the configs on the box. Any help given would be very much appreciated. Thank You

This 5KM distance is only going to be applicable in bridging situations. The following link shows how to use the distance calculations based on devices: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps458/products_tech_note09186a008009459b.shtml
In theory, if you had a really strong direction antenna on your client you'd be able to get the 1310 as an access Point from 5km, but you'd need perfect line-of-site and you wouldn't be mobile...
As others had mentioned, if you're looking for an access point situation with that kind of range, then you need WiMax....
but if it is bridging you want, its just a matter of getting the other link to see this one (with a good enough antenna)

  • Aironet 1500 series point to point connection

Hello, I have a question for cisco Aironet 1500 series. I want to connect two of them as point to point in a distance about 6 km (kilometers). So there are two questions, can them be connected as point to point to transmit signal and the second one what is the max distance of AP to be connected.
    Kind regards,
    Ardit

There are a lot of factors when it comes to an outdoor bridge connection. What kind of traffic is going to pass over that link? How much bandwidth do you need? Is there an free line of sight and can you place the (high gain) external antennas somewhere high or maybe even in an tower? And what about the factors you can't influence like the weather?
I personally don't have experience with this kind of high distances, but if you are going to do an test I would advise to go for the 1570 bridges and select an high gain antenna. A good starting-point for outdoor point-to-point connections is Cisco's WNG Coverage Capacity Calculator. You can also use tis tool to calcuate your Effective Isotropic Radiated Power, which should not exceed the rules dictated by your regulatory domain.

  • Aironet 3500 series range

    Hi!
I've been trying forever to find the coverage range of the acceess points of the Aironet 3500 series. Would anyone happen to know?

    Marky,
Like Leo mentioned, if it's an open area you know the approximate coverage. When you ask it's like a hospital wing or school wing, you can really determine that unless you actually place an ap in Like the corner room and see how far the signal covers. Also when you ask for a range, you need to determine what's your outer cell coverage going to be. For example, you might want coverage with a minimum of -75dBM and an SNR of -20dBm or it might be -65dBm and an SNR or -25dBm. All these requirements and the building construction determines how far an AP can cover. Building construction from new to old to very old buildings makes as big difference too. Your best way to determine that is to get an 3500i and put the 1260 IOS image an test for yourself. You might have to test various areas that differ to actually determine the coverage of an ap in an area.
    Thanks,
    Scott Fella

  • 3600 series router for VOIP

i need to know will cisco 3600 series router support 4 to 6 E1 for voice over IP using ISDN or PRI singnaling if 2-Port E1 Multiflex Trunk Voice/WAN Interface Cards (VWICs)is used in three slots provided by 3600 routers

For Cisco 3600 routers to support VOIP you need to have NM-HDA module to provide DSP support without which VOIP can not be handled on 3600 series routers.Maximum Number of NM-HDAs Allowed in 3640 routrer is 3 and 3660 router is 6.So you can use either 3640 or 3660.

I finally have the Windows 10 icon, but theres one little annoying catch, it says I dont have the Intel Graphics Media Accelorater 3600 series. I have Intel 2600 on my acer Aspire one netbook. It says my display won't work. I tired downloading the driver from Intel website but it says this: The driver being installed is not being validated for this computer, please obtain the appropriate driver from the manufacturer. Does anyone have a link and driver that works? I'm here on the Acer's website, and I'm not finding what I need. How can something so small become such a big hassel? Computers work great when they work, but when you try to reserve Window 10, its becoming a pain in my ars.Sincerely, Dawn

Intel drivers can't install until you uninstall Acer's Intel VGA drivers. To check drivers support:http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support keep in mind that only this models will have Acer driver support for windows 10:http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/windows10-eligible-models
