Aironet Power Injector -Air-Pwrinj-Blr2=

                  I am working with a Aironet Power Injector (Air-Pwrinj-Blr2=) trying to connect it to the access point it comes with to a desktop running Windows XP. I am able to connected to it and use cli commands via hyper terminal, but I am not able to get a network signal to the desktop. I was able to find the IP address or what I assume is the ip address, but can't ping it from inside the office and I am not able to use the ip address to get a connection to the power injector via browser. Has anybody worked with one of these units before this is a first for me and I am hoping somebody can steer me in the right direction and get this working. The Ethernet, Status and Radio are all blinking green lights on the access point and the Install is not used on this model so no light there. Thanks in advance for any help provided!

I am also receiving a blinking green light under (E) Ethernet and also under (S) Status

    I'm wondering if the AIR-PWRINJ-BLR2 power injector will work with the 1400 series bridges, or will it work only for the 1300s. Thanks.

    Cisco recommends AIR-PWRINJ-BLR1 for 1400 series bridges. I don't think the voltage specs are the same for both these injectors.

  • Aironet Power injector LR2

    Hello,
    I have a few Aironet Power injector LR2's that are new and I'm trying to config for the first time. Im using the console cable with no luck - Com1 9600 8 none 1 none???? Very strange that it is not connecting on any of them - even tried a different cable. I get no display through hyperterm except maybe for a few symbols/chars. Tried the Ethernet port, checked dhcp server and did not show the device. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    If it is the 1310 power injector as Rob has linked above, then that power injector requires the 1310 to be attached to it for configuration. Basically, the power injector provides the ports (network/console) to the 1310 which only has the dual coax going to it.
    If you have a 1310 attached and you are not able to configure it via network or the console cable then you really have a problem. Otherwise, just know the power injector require no configuration to interface with the AP it was designed for.

  • Cisco Power Injector - AIR-PWRINJ4

                       Hi there, I have a quick question about Cisco Power Injector.
                        we bought a number of Air-PWRINJ4 year ago,  mainly for extending the power via Cat5 ethernet cable to AP 1225 in warehouse. the output is 56V 0.55A. 
                        Now I have a couple of spare left, my quesiton is if it is OK to directly power 3502I AP, which requires imput 48V and .35A. from the bag of Air-PWRINJ4, it indecates that the 3500 series is also included.

    on the site I am setting up the AP, there is no POE switch and I don't have adapter with exact output for APs.

  • Power Injector AIR-PWRINJ1500-2 LEDs Continously blinking

    Hi,
    I am facing a strange problem with the AIR-PWRINJ1500-2.
    At times the injector behaves perfectly fine but once Switched Off & again Powered On, all 3 LEDs, never become stable & blink continuously.
    Has someone seen such a behavior ? Pls, share.

    My understanding is the power injector is not supported for the 1552CU and your only powering options are the following:
    1552C/1552CU
    • 40-90 VAC, 50-60 Hz, quasi-square wave, Power over Cable
    • 12 VDC

  • Aironet 1310, power injector and poe cable

    Hello,
    Can the power injector delivered with aironet 1310 be supplied by a PoE RJ45 cable rather than the traditionnel DC adapter?
    The problem is, i thought Aironet 1310 was PoE. Which means it can be power supplied by a rj45 cable.
    But, when i openned my brand new 1310 box, i realized that 1st, it needs that Power Injector to work and that 2nd, Power injector needs a power supply...
    Usually when i buy a PoE access point, I just plug in my PoE rj45 cable and its power supplied :)
    Anyway, i hope there's an issue for this because where the 1310 should be placed, there's only a PoE rj45 cable arriving.

    Sadly the 1310 cannot be powered by PoE ,but, the Power Injector can be up to 100 meters away from the unit.
    Dual coaxial cable to run from the power injector to the 1300. See attached notes:

    I want to deploy a network based on Cisco Aironet 1300. In enclosures with network equipment has a guarantee of power 24 VDC. How can power the AIR-PWRINJ-BLR2T from the existing power supply? Which slot (connector) should get him to come to the injector?

    The input voltage range for AIR-PWRINJ-BLR2T is +12VDC to +40VDC. +24VDC must be provided to the power injector via the power jack. It’s located between the F-connectors to the left side and the Ethernet LAN port on the right side.

    Have a set of BR1310G-A-K9-R with AIR-PWRINJ-BLR2 injectors, feed by P/N 34-1537-02 REVA0.
    If 1310 connected to injector, powered by the transformer (mentioned above)when power applied, red light between power plug and coax connector is red, no lights on back of 1310. If I then disconnect the power plug from the injector, and reconnect, same light turns green.
    Any suggestions? I didn't purchase the equipment, perhaps the parts listed above are not compatible?

    Check for loose connections.the maximum distance between BR1310 and power injector is 100m.If this doesnt work Try to replace the power injector and see if it works.Perhaps replacing the power injector mostly would resolve.

    Can we use a power injector from a 1410 series wireless bridge to replace a failed AIR-PWRINJ-BLR2 for a 1310 series bridge ? I know there is no console port on the BLR1.

    It is 'possibe' if they provide same power. But I don't think they do. And even if they do, that is not supported scenario by cisco and if anything goes wron g cisco can not help you unless you use the proper devices. So it is always recommended to use the devices that cisco recommend even though other non-supported devices may work.

  • Power injector with SPA508g

    I decided to edit this since it got moved to a different place where it might not be understood:
    I have a UC320w phone system. I have SPA508g phones. I have a cisco POE switch next to the UC320. But, I have one far location that has one ethernet port and we want 3 computers and the SPA508g phone. I don't have a POE switch and I'd prefer to put the switch before the phone. (the out port on the phone is 10/100 where I'd like the link to the far switch to be gigabit).
    The SPA508g didn't come with power cords. I know I can get them.
    But I happen to have an Aironet 1200 access point power enjector: AIR-PSINJSYS1200. I think the aironet needs 48 volts, so I assume this power injector provides that (or up to that?).
    Is that ok to use this power injector with a SPA508g? Will it just draw whatever it needs or is that power enjector too much power? I seem some documentation that says the AIR-PSINJSYS1200 will work with a access point that requires less power, but I don't see any other documentation.

    Unfortunately this is the wrong area of the community to pose the question.  While I believe the aironet power injectors present a standard IEEE PoE interface to the device, I can say that for certain.  Certainly those power injectors are only supported for use with the Access Points, and the people who hang on on this community are unlikely to be familiar enough with the product to say for sure whether it will work.  If the injector does present an IEEE PoE interface then the phone should work fine, but I can't confirm that for you.  You might want to try posting a question to the wireless forum at

    Hope you can assist me. My customer requested me to calculate the power consumption required for the installation of one unit of AP 1510 using the following power injector, part no: Power Injector (AIR-PWRINJ1500). He would like to know the cost required so that the building management can include the necessary cost of the implementation of the device.
    From my initial research, I notice the following input power requirement
    Power Injector
    Input: 100-240V ~ 1.5A (300Watt)
    Output: 48V ~ 1.2A (58Watt)
    Power consumption: 240*1.5 = 360 W = 0.36KW
    Assuming cost per unit is 0.39 cent
    Amount required per hour = 0.36*0.39 = 0.14 cent
    Amount required per day = 0.14*24 = 3.36 dollar
    Is my calculation correct?

    the lenght of the lan segment between switch and access point is cca 150m.
    my quiestion is:
    can i solve this problem with inserting Power injector (AIR-PWRINJ3) between, so resulting shema would be:
    AP--70m(PoE)--PowerInj--80m(normal LAN)--sw2950
    is it Injector in the function of L2 switch or is it only injecting power into normal 100m limited segment?

    I tried this before, did not work. I think it's passive.
    You have to use a fiber(MM does the trick and it's cheap, you dont need really clean terminaison for 100baseFX, mecanical with do)
    or put a hub somewere.
