why Airplay does not appear on my iphone and itunes for windows? anyone can help please....

There is no AirPlay support between an iDevice and iTunes on a computer.

According to the help page i was viewing my Late 2011 13' MacBook Pro should support Airplay Mirroring. However the airplay icon does not appear on my menu bar like i says it should and when i go to System prefereneces>Display nothing appears there about Mirroring as well (like it says it should). The help page specifically says that Late 2011 MacBook Pros should support Mirroring etc...
Any suggestions? I'm all ears...Welcome to the Apple Community.
Airplay needs 10.8 or later, you need to update your operating system. -
Airplay works on I-tunes but not on sites where you might want to stream, such as U-tube. It does not appear on my display menu settings, but as i-tunes as the icon I am thinking the computer must have the capability. Can anyone help, how to I turn airplay on so I can stream using my apple TV. I am sure as I-tune is working I have everything set up right.
Mirroring requires OSX 10.8 or higher.
Just use the YouTube app on the ATV. -
I just verified that i have an early 2011 Macbook Pro and the airplay icon does not appear. i also have a 2013 Macbook Pro which shows the airplay icon. do i need to enable airplay on my early 2011 or is there an update that is needed? Confused.
To check your model go to About This Mac (by clicking on the Apple icon, top left) and then select more info. If you wish to use mirroring you will need one from 2011 or later running OSX 10.8 or later. The alternative would be to use 3rd party software like Airparrot.

Airplay menu does not appear on ipad
The AirPlay menu does not appear on the control menu on my iPad (iPad 2). I have gone through each step of the troubleshooting provided by Apple support but the menu still does not appear. I have tried to connect my Apple TV to two separate networks with an Ethernet cable and the menu still does not appear on my iPad. Does anyone have any further suggestions beyond the troubleshooting guide?

Try to reboot Apple TV, reboot router, also reset your device. Guide to reset device: (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Then, after that go online to: speedtest (You must be online for this to work on YOUR WIFI) Click "begin test" and it will test download and upload speed of your WIFI. A modern home can vary; an average WIFI speed is download 1-20 Mbps, upload .5-15Mbps. If it is in that range then you should be fine.

No previous issues with my iphone 4s. Can stream on Apple TV my itunes library but cannot watch videos or pictures from phone because the icon does not appear on my phone.
Thanks to @Winston Churchill - I found the answer. Had to reset my router. All is working again!

only devices one can sync with show up in devices and only the old first Apple TV could be synced to
the newer black ones show up as airplay options and in term they can access the shared itunes lib of the computer nothing else -

If it is a version 2 ATV, it will not appear in iTunes except where you can select it for Airplay. With the new ATV2, you go in the opposite direction (ATV2 to iTunes) after you have enabled sharing. The ATV1 could both store (sync) and/or stream content. The new one cannot. The ATV2 will appear as an AirPlay device in iTunes and in the iPod and Video areas on an iPhone, iPad, etc.

As you have Mac OS X Snow Leopard, you haven't got a compatible MacBook Air, so you can't use AirPlay Mirroring. However, you can use a third-party app as AirParrot to mirror the MacBook onto your Apple TV > http://www.airparrot.com -
Steady green light on A1084. Mac OS X 10.7.5. IMac. Verizon DSL Actiontec GT704-WGB modem. Airport Utility 5.6 says set up is complete. Airport Express base station does not appear in the menu bar, so I cannot select it and send a signal to airport express to play airtunes through my stereo amplifier. Is there a fix?
I plugged a model A1034 Airport Extreme Base Station into the Verizon DSL Actiontec GT704-WGB modem with an ethernet cable and now the AirPlay icon appears in the Itunes window immediately to the right of the volume control and I can select it and play Airtunes wirelessly through the A1038 Airport Express Base Station in another room connected to a stereo amplifier by a Monster mini-to-RCA left/right audio cable running from the output jack on the A1034 Airport Express Base Station into the CD jacks on the amp. The problem is that I have to select the Apple Network Airport Express Base Station as my network in order to select the Airport Express Base Station when I click the AirPlay icon, which means I have no Internet signal to the Imac. If I select the Airport Extreme Base Station or the Verzion modem as my network, then I have an Internet signal to the Imac, but the Airport Express Base Station is grayed out when I click on the AirPlay icon, so I cannot select the Airport Express Base Station and send tunes to the Airport Express. It would be nice to play Airtunes while simultaneously accessing the Internet. I don't understand your question about what program I am using for which I require AirPlay. I am not learned about computers in general, and even less so about Macs than PCs. I thought the program I was running was Itunes, and there was no separate program to run to use AirPlay for the purpose of sending a signal from the Itunes on the Imac to the A1084 Airport Express base station in a another room, and then out as described above to the stereo amplifier to listen to Itunes music remotely in the other room, without any kind of cable, wire, etc., connecting the Imac to the stereo amplifier. I would guess that the most common use for the A1084 is to play Itunes through a stereo in another room without the need to run wires from the computer to the stereo. I realize it would be easy simply to run a very long mini-to-RCA left/right audio cable across the floor connecting the Imac to the amp without the need to use AirTunes, Airplay or any kind of AirPort, but it would be both unsightly and a tripping hazard.

Airplay does not always work with Apple TV (no airplay symbol)
We have two iPhones and one iPad (all using iOS6). Sometimes we can connect any device without problems, sometimes the Airplay symbol does not appear on the iPhone or iPad at all. Rebooting (unplugging and plugging again power cord) the Apple TV sometimes helps. Anyhow, I checked all hints from the Apple FAQ and the only thing I don't use is iOS 7 (but currently iOS 6 should still be ok).
Does anybody made the same experience?This morning I downgraded the firmware of my Apple TV to 5.3 (I was on 6.0.2). This solved my problem! :)
I too had lagging playback, both from iTunes as well as for Airplaying a video from my iPad. Often the video or airplay just would not start.
With firmware 5.3 my ATV is again as fast as it used to be: videos start promptly, no waiting for the spinning disc and hoping the thing will start. It just works now :)
