Airplay Icon not Showing when connected to my car's bluetooth stereo

I have an UVO system in my Kia. It has been working great with the Iphone Airplay since October. I recently updated my phone and now, just like many others, no airplay showing up on my music apps.
I basically use Spotify and Pandora all the time with zero issues. Now when my phone is connected to my car through bluetooth, my phone works perfectly and can talk through the speakers for calls but the music apps do not display the icon to switch between dock connector or bluetooth audio. This has led me to believe it's not a problem with my UVO system in my car but rather an apple related issue. Why would they dissapear? I have tried shutting off, rebooting, and all that jazz on both my Iphone 4 and Ipad2. Also, even when connected through the USB port, the UVO still doesnt recognize the audio.
Any advice would be awesome!

I DON'T text and drive. I just want be able to hear, for example, alerts that I have put on my calendar. I can/do pull over to look at texts--but not when I don't know that I have a message. This was never an issue until a couple of weeks ago.

  • Preview icon not showing when in thumbnail. (Sketchu

    Hello,
I recently updated my MBP to Yosemite and installed sketchup on it.
The preview icon of my sketchup files are not showing when in thumbnail. But as i increase the size of the icon from thumbnail in viewoption i.e from 64px x 64px to 124px x 124px it shows. So my icon is shown as blank without any app logo. Also when i change my view from thumbnail to coverflow or something it shows. Otherthan thumbnail everything works.
So where is the error in it?
    Please help...
    Thanks
    Amar

    Try the standard fixes:
    - Rest. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • Airplay icon not showing up even though all devices connected to network

I have an ipad (about 1.5 years old) and a macbook pro (about 2 years old), and I just recently got the newest apple tv (I apologize for not knowing the exact models of what I have). Everything has the most recent updated software, but I have been having a lot of trouble with the airplay. The icon only shows up about 1/3 of the time we try to use it (on both the macbook and the ipad). I double and triple check that everything is connected to the network, and i even restart all of my devices multiple times. Sometimes it eventually ends up showing up and working great, sometimes we get so frustrated and just quit trying. The crazy thing is that other times when Im not trying to use the airplay, I see the icon all the time! What is going on here? Does anyone have any tips to get the airplay to work besides just restarting everything until it decides to appear?? Thanks so much

It could be due to interference on the network. Check istumbler.net to verify

  • Airplay Icon not showing in iTunes

I have a problem with my Win8.1 laptop and the current iTunes version 11.3.0 using airplay with my ATV 1 (current firmware)
Airplay usually works when I start up iTunes after booting the ATV but what really bothers me is that when my laptop looses WLAN connectivity for a few seconds, iTunes won't reconnect to the ATV and ask me to use the computer instead. After that the airplay icon disappears, and won't reapper until I have restarted the ATV and the laptop (alltough it may be that restarting the ATV isn't necessary).
I have disabled IPV6 and tried restarting iTunes, the Bonjour service and the WLAN adapter, nothing helps but a restart.
Airplay however continues to work fine with my iPhone / iPad.
Any hints on what might be causing this? If not I'd suggest that the Apple developers overthink the discovery algorimth for airplay devices...

Sorry, my bad, I have mistaken my ATV for a 1G in fact its a 2G. can't seem to change the first post but there you go.
I connected the ATV to my iTunes lib to try the starting / stopping a song, but it didn't help. Also I'd prefer a solution that doesn't need the TV to be turned on (right now I'm using the optical coax out for music only). Thanks for the tip though.
    Further suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Airplay icon not showing up on iTunes on Windows, but it is showing up on other devices

I haven't used airplay in a while (few weeks), but went to play some music and icon is not populating. I have the latest version of iTunes and it might be the issue. Firewall and router are not the issues. It works on my iPad, iPhone, etc.
I am sick of continuously having issues with Apple and these ******** problems? Why must I pay for a product that will fail to work?

  • Earpiece symbol not showing when connected

Please i can't listen to music through earpiece and i bought my phone new,its c5-00.2 ,initially it use to play but sometimes it wont but now its not working anymore, please what will i do

    Hi Pboy9ja,
    Thanks for posting.
Please visit a Nokia Care Point to have your C5-00 checked. If it is recently bought you might also want to consider returning to your supplier. From what you describe it appears the switching mechanism in the earphone connection is not working which is why the phone does to detect the headset being plugged in.
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on!

To check your model go to About This Mac (by clicking on the Apple icon, top left) and then select more info. If you wish to use mirroring you will need one from 2011 or later running OSX 10.8 or later. The alternative would be to use 3rd party software like Airparrot.

  • HT4557 Homesharing house icon not showing in menu bar & hr glass circle only half full on ipod when trying to connect to library.

I seen others with the same issue and I read through the links and did not find the answer. In my instance, the homesharing is enabled in iTunes (version 11.5) and on my ipod 4 (version 6.1.3), but in iTunes the house icon and well as the “SHARED” part of the side menu do not show. When I select the library in my ipod the hr glass circle gets half way filled and then stops.
I was thinking it might be my router, so I changed the security settings from WPA to WPA2 (as others have tryed which fixed thier issue) and back with no luck. There was a firmware update that was needed on my router, but that didn't fix it either.
Shouldn't the house icon appear in iTunes regardless whether there is an internet connection to the other device (in this case my ipod)??? I had homesharing working on my old netbook a year or two ago and I thought the house icon always showed when enabled whether I had my system connected to a router or not. I could be wrong though.
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hello vio412,
Thank you for providing the details of the Home Sharing issue you are experiencing.  The Home Sharing icon is not always visible.  If you would like it to show so that you can verify you are signed in with the correct account, you can follow these steps:
Go to File > Home Sharing and choose Turn Off Home Sharing.
Choose File > Home Sharing > Turn On Home Sharing.
When prompted, enter the Apple ID you'd like to use.
Click Turn On Home Sharing, then Done.
After you press done, it is normal for the Home Sharing icon to disappear.  I found these steps in the article listed below.  I recommend reviewing the full article to troubleshoot issues with Home Sharing:

Hi Roy, this has worked for a few...
Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712
    10.7 & 10.8…
System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
