AirPlay, iMac, Denon

I've just bought a Denon 2113CI receiver, which is AirPlay equipped. Can I use this feature from an iMac (currently running OS 10.6.8, iTunes 11.0.2)?a\

It will be a 50 ft. cat5e cable, do you foresee any loss of clarity?
50 ft is no problem. You can run the Ethernet cable up to 330 ft or about 100 meters with virtually no loss.
Also, by hooking the system up this way, it won't inhibit my ability to use a remote app or use other sources (iphone or ipad) for music, right?
It won't affect anything at all.
Also, the music will be played from the capsule saved itunes files and not the computer itunes files, right?
Music will come from the media library that iTunes points to.

  • Airplay itunes denon avr-x3000

I have a problem with Itunes on my Macbook Pro, after I changed the router from Netgear CG3100 to a Netgear CG3700, you will see it with "unknown error occurred (-6700)" when I try to connect to Airplay in Itunes ...
On my old router it worked fine, but the new confers on those issues. Everything is updated on my Mac, latest OS X and Itunes.
    Someone who can help me?

Hi, i don't have a solution but i can share my experience with you which is similar. Mac Mini connected to Denon. On Mavericks  OS btw.
    two things.
    1. i was fiddling with the System preferences at one time, under Sound, playing around with the output options, honestly forgotten what i did but i managed to get into all the options as per normal, such as Dolby Cinema. Problem is, once i restarted the Mini, the same problem occured. Only those as u mentioned, Multi IN etc.
at this point, i am still trying to figure out.
    2. I tried switching to windows, and the problem disappear. Meaning, the sound mode options are as per usual.
u have any luck yet ?

  • Can't stream audio via Airplay to Denon X4000 receiver

I have a late 2013 Macbook Pro with 13-inch Retina Display. It came preloaded with Mavericks. I'm trying to stream audio via airplay to my Denon X4000 receiver which is airplay certified. For some reason airplay only works with iTunes. If I go into the sound preferences in Mac OS X my Denon X4000 receiver is listed as an audio output device but OS X won't let me click on it. It immediately reverts back to the laptop's internal speakers. I just recently started having this problem as of tonight when I tried to listen to music from Google Play Music. Has Apple decided to force iTunes down everybody's throat? How do I fix this?

This is from the Web page at Denon, confirmimg what you have found. I don't know if it is a Denon restriction or Apple.

Equipped with Apple’s AirPlay function, the AVR-X4000 lets you stream your favorite tracks from your iPod touch, iPhone and iPad via your home network. You can also access your favorite iTunes tracks from your computer or connect your portable device directly via the front panel USB port.

  • Airplay IMAC to two different Apple Tv's

Our current set up at church is to use 1 apple tv, split the video  and connect two TV's with it.  Then we airplay to the TV's in order to show the words to the songs and the message for the sermon.  We are moving to a new church and the TV's are about 150' away from each other.  We can still do our current method, but it seems like it would be easier to just buy another apple tv and airplay to it or have it mirror the other apple TV.  Is this possible? Or do we just need to keep our current set up?
    Thanks.

Unfortunately, video can only be streamed via airplay to one Apple TV at a time.

  • How do I turn off airplay iMac ATV3.

    2011 iMac (Mavericks) + ATV3
It is not connected to anything but the icon is still blue and it says it is connected to my ATV.
I know its not connected as I am looking at the ATV now and can see and interact with the GUI.
I went into display settings and tried to turn it off from there, but it will not turn off.
I removed the icon from my menu bar.
I have turned off the ATV for over 5 mins.
This is not an isolated incident, this has been happing for about 2-3 weeks now.
    Very annoying.
Any ideas or links to this, if it has been answered already
    P.S.
As I write this i see it has disconnected (ATV has been off for about 8-10 mins now)

    Turn off mirroring.

  • IMac no longer sees mouse or keyboard

Re; pre airplay iMac/Mavericks. Firstly, computer wouldn't wake from sleep when
I tapped the mouse. Thought there had been a power interruption, so I touched the power button on the back. Computer awoke, but displayed a message that Bluetooth keyboard could not be found. But I've been using a usb mouse and keyboard, neither of which are no longer active. I am completely stranded; connecting to this forum via android phone. I've tried shutting down and powering up, but to no avail. Screen comes up normally, but I can do nothing without a keyboard and mouse. Need emergency protocols. BTW, I tried reconnecting with my Bluetooth Mac keyboard, but it can't find that either.

  • AirPlay works with Yamaha RX-A710 equipped with YWA-10 network adapter?

I have a RX-A710 equipped with a YWA-10 network adapter, is it possible to play music from my iPhone or Mac as an input to my receiver, like using AirPlay?

I have got a denon receiver. At some point itunes used to behave properly. But i dont exactly remember when but i started getting the error.
I get the same error even on the latest version of itunes.I am able to airplay to the denon the 1st time. Then once my Denon goes in network standby mode(not power off) and I want to airplay to Denon again i get the error above.  However i verified that i can reach the Denon from iphone and even airplay music directly from phone during this whole time.
The only fix i found is to restart itunes. Once itunes starts again i can Airplay to Denon again.
I know this is not a DENON problem or my PC or my network as everything else from PC works properly, everything else AIRPLAY's to DENON properly.
    Apple please help.

  • AirPlay Audio Cuts in and Out

I have had major issues in the past six months with the audio from my AirPlay where there used to be none. For a long while I used an elaborate setup from my 2nd gen AppleTV, to a optical audio out to a quarter inch converter to an AudioEngine wireless dongle to my receiver with flawless results between 2013 and late 2014. When problems started occuring I naturally figured it was the wi-fi network, I did some serious reconfiguring to get as strong and clean of a wi-fi signal as possible, still had the issues. I finally decided to simplify the whole setup to an AirPlay compatible Denon AVR-x1000 stereo that hardwires to my wireless router. All was good for a week, now its worse than ever, even resetting the internet and the router will not seem to get the AirPlay from cutting in and out. I have an iPad, an iPhone 5 and a Macbook Pro, and an AppleTV all connecting to the receiver. All have the same cut in and out problem that existed before the receiver and after. It seems every update makes things less stable not more. Is there someone who can help walk me through a fix or just tell me AirPlay no longer works so I can stop trying?
    Please help!!!
    Here is my setup -
    Macbook Pro 15-inch, Mid 2012 - 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM Running OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 connected by Wi-Fi
Denon AVR-X1000 AirPlay enable receiver connected directly to router via ethernet
    Netgear Dualband Wireless-N Router WNDR3700 - 2.4GHZ Channel has a 92% Signal and the 5Ghz has 85%
Internet Connection is fast and consistent 72MBps Down 10 Up
2nd Gen AppleTV connected via Wi-Fi
    iPhone 5 iOS 8.3
2nd Gen iPad running iOS 8.2
I have shut off bluetooth on anything that has it to avoid interference. The video of the appleTV works just fine and the Airplay Icon is consistently available, this is an AUDIO issue.
***There is another 2nd Gen Apple TV in a separate room (weaker signals all around) connected to the same network that works flawlessly streaming audio and video from any device.***

  • Airport Extreme with Airplay

Having an issue getting airplay to work on my apple devices after connecting an Airplay enabled Denon AVR1912 receiver. When I first hooked the receiver up to my network, I found the airplay icon on my iPad and MacBook. Both were able to establish communication with the receiver and airplay worked just fine. After shutting everything down for the day and going back the next day, I can no longer find the Airplay icon so I can't establish music streaming to my receiver. I have no idea why it worked the first time and now is dead in the water. I've read through every discussion thread I can find as well as posing a question to the Denon help desk. They only said that it's not a Denon issue and to reboot all devices which I did with no change.  What is really wierd is that I can stream internet radio through the receiver so it's communicating in the network just fine. It appears that Airplay really is the culprit.  I've got all the latest releases installed as well as any/all firmware updates to all devices including the Denon receiver, my airport extreme and iPad.
I've also attended to all the suggestions in the support sight for troubleshooting airplay including the following:
f your Apple TV, Airport Express, or compatible 3rd-party device does not appear in the AirPlay menu, follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Verify that your AirPlay-enabled devices have the most up-to-date software or firmware (see the table above for minimum AirPlay requirements).
Verify that all your AirPlay-enabled devices are logged on to the same home Wi-Fi network (check the home network names on your all your devices to confirm).
Verify that your iOS device has Wi-Fi turned on and is associated with the same home Wi-Fi network as your AirPlay-enabled device.
Ensure that AirPlay is enabled on the device to which you are trying to stream content (for example, you can disable or enable AirPlay on Apple TV in the AirPlay menu: Settings > AirPlay).
Check Internet or network connectivity on all affected devices.
Temporarily disable firewalls (both network and local) and security  software. Security software and firewalls may block ports that AirPlay  uses to stream content. You can often resolve issues with security software by updating, correctly configuring, or uninstalling security software.
Ensure that other devices are not trying to stream to the same AirPlay-enabled device at the same time.
Turn off Bluetooth on your iOS device by tapping Settings > General > Bluetooth.
If attempting to use AirPlay from a third-party app or a website from your Safari app on your iOS device, confirm that the app or website is AirPlay compatible (refer to the developers of the app or website for additional information).
I'm now at a standstill as to how best to resolve. Any suggestions?  I'm thinking I need to go the extra mile and install AppleTV to remove the receiver from the equation. Thanks in advance for any insight from a knowledgable Apple tech.

As you, I have tried everything and I do not know what to do next,  eventhough when I lose airplay I can put it back on by resetting the network or rebooting the router.  That is the only way to use it again. I think this is to do with the Airplay feature.

  • Airport Express Extending non-Apple AP

For something that "just works", the Airport series is a real mess if not every single device you own is the most recent Apple product. Thanks Apple.
Anywho, before complaining too much, I'd like to set my problem.
We currently have a main Airport Extreme (lets call it AEX) that is connected to some switches. We also have 3 Airport Expresses, for extending our network and AirPlay for 3 stereos throughout the house. Now, our outter most Airport Express (lets call it AE3) only receives a faint signal or none at all. So I set up a D-Link DIR-615 (lets call it DL) to work as an AP and extend our wireless network, to give the AE3 a decent signal. Now apparantly Apple managed to only let devices extend a network if the network that it is extending comes from another Apple router. Very nifty. Very user friendly. Since everybody uses all Apple devices. Practical.
Of course D-Link != Apple, so AE3 can't extend the wireless signal created by DL (connected directly via LAN to AEX). However, I can set up AE3 to only receive the signal of DL. Works fine! No extension of the network unforunately - but at least it works.
Now for the real issue - another Airport Express (lets call this one AE2) is also in the zone of DL. When the signal of AEX get's weaker or AEX is updated and offline for a second, it somehow pairs with DL instead of AEX. Since AE2 is set up to extend the network and not only receive - since that's what they are made for - this forms errors.
Is there really no way to let it extend even if the signal they are receiving is from DL? I just can't understand how hard it can be. Since we have already been forced to buy a AEX along with our AE's (since we had no clue a full-Apple-network was required for AirPlay), I'd like to avoid buying yet another Airport Express to make a signal cross the room.
Now that I'm ranting anyway, I'd like to express (no pun intended) my dissatisfaction with following issues Apple is causing.
First off, the Airport Utility for Windows hasn't been updated in a long time. It isn't available on all versions of Windows either. On top of that, the new version requires iOS6/7, thus making a first gen iPad really not that useful for network configuration.
Secondly, my compliments to Apple to not make the AEX support NTFS for external hard drives. BRILLIANT move there. I really do want to use FAT16/32 on a 1TB hard drive, so practical for my large files! No I kid, Mac OS Extended is of course better use for a hard drive that big, surely since all the computers in house are Windows. The joy's of using Apple products never ends does it! I understand they want to keep everything all-Mac, but selling routers one does expect somewhat compatibility with non-Apple stuff.

Is there really no way to let it extend even if the signal they are receiving is from DL?
Unless you want to use a wired connection between Apple and non-Apple routers the extend feature of Apple routers only works with other Apple routers. This is really no different with the other router manufacturers whether it is D-Link, Belkin, Linksys, etc.
(since we had no clue a full-Apple-network was required for AirPlay)
That's not entirely true. One of the requirements for AirPlay is a network, either wired or wireless. The networking hardware that makes up that network does NOT have to be comprised of any Apple products.
For example, since AirPlay requires at least three things: 1) iTunes "server," 2) Network, and 3) AirPlay "speaker," you could have a fully functional AirPlay streaming with the following devices:
    iTunes "server": Synology NAS
Network: A wireless network based on D-Link hardware.
    AirPlay "speaker: Denon AVR-991

  • Denon Airplay not working

    Hi ,
My Denon RDC-N7 is Airplay certified (the reason I bought it..). However iTunes does not recognise it, although eyeconnect does...

Musicserver works, so streaming to Denon DOES work
Latest firmware on the Denon, latest iTune version installed

checked the 'external speakers' in iTunes
Airplay Icon does see the Imac but does not see the Denon

I see people saying that AirPlay does not work over Ethernet, but the computer seems to do fine with it.
Is the iPhone and iPad connected to the same network?  Many newer routers create seperate wired, wireless 2.4Ghz, and wireless 5Ghz networks in additon to guest networks.

  • Denon component with Airplay..what to do?!

I'm trying to figure out if I should get the Denon component av with Airplay & speakers or if there's a cheaper alternative to stream music throughout my house without using wireless speakers and traditional ipod docking system? Any advice would be greatly appreciated....
    Thank you!

Sure.. I am driving my airport express thats connected to my Denon AUX port using airplay from my imac and it works just fine. Thae express is set up to 'join network' and I just check 'use speakers' and then run the cable from the express (which is all the way accross my house) into my denon and its all good from there. Hope this answers your question. If not, let me know, I have fiddled around with all sorts of wireless network stuff for both my stereo systems.

I bought my Imac april 2011. Is this computer too old to use airply to mirror with my apple tv? If not how do I do it?

    About AirPlay and Airplay Mirroring
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer). For non-qualifying Macs you can try using Air Parrot.
