Airplay, mirroring, homeshareing, remote is not working

Got the new apple tv (3) and iPad3. Airplay and mirroring is not working (the option doesn't appear on the iPad) Home shareing is not working either. Software is latest on all devices and they are connecting to the same wifi. What can be the problem? Tried already rebooting the modem, and devices. Thanks...

Ok, so I read that I should do a reset. I tried that. The remote still only beeps when I press menu/play, and once I pair it nothing works at all. I actually did get the pairing icon to show up, but once it did that, all functionality stopped. Now I can't even use my iPhone. It only sees my music library. So I have a paper weight...  cannot control with remote, or iPhone, or iPad. It wants me to go into a menu and enable home sharing, which I can't do since I can't control it at all. I've googled this until I'm blue in the face, nothing is coming up, just the same fixes, and at least before I could use my iPhone to control it, now I can't use it at all. I wish Apple had some sort of tech support beyond going to a store. Strongly considering going back to Roku after this.

  • Mountain Lion AirPlay Mirroring (iMac to AppleTV) Not Working

Mountain Lion successfully installed on my iMac.
AppleTV sucessfully networked with my iMac (at least where iTunes and iPhoto are concerned.)
But AirPlay icon is NOT appearing in my menu bar. Any clues as to why this is?
In System Preferences, I've checked "Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available" but still nothing.
Below is a screenshot of my menu bar. Thanks in advance!

I agree, what is the point of making an operating system compatible with a particular computer and then arbitrarily disabling the most meaningful features. It seems like Apple is once again forcing us to wastefully update equipment through less than honest means. Any update they have should have a clear list of what will not be relevant to you with te equipment you are using. I would not have purchased Mountail Lion if I had been aware that AirPlay would not work. And before someone tells me that I just needed to check to look and it was clear. I went so far as to make sure my graphics card was compatible. Which is really the only thing I can see being a reasonable excuse for disabling a feature such as this.

  • Yosemite AirPlay Mirroring (iMac to AppleTV) Not Working.

I've been using AirParrot to transfer movies on my older computer to my Apple TV.   My new iMac,  using Yosemite 10.10.3, has AirPlay. However, I can't turn "mirroring" on.  Why?   New Mac specifications: 21.5" iMac, Processor 2.9GHz,  Intel Core i5, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 1024 MB.

  • My Apple TV remote is not working.

My Apple TV remote is not working. It was fine this morning, but now ATV is not responding to it.  It still access iTunes on my Mac so I don't think it's a battery issue. The white light flashes on ATV, but nothing happens.  I have restarted ATV several times from the mains, but no change.  Please help!

    Hey Punkmonk1,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with your Apple TV remote. The following resource may provide a solution:

  • Remote does not work correctly after update

    Hello,
    the subject explain it already:
After upgrading to 2.3 the apple remote does not work correctly anymore:
I need to push the buttons twice, and than atv is only reacting sometimes.
    Any ideas?

Same problem here. First, I thought it was the Apple remote's battery. I replaced that and the problem persisted. I then used my digital video camera to verify that the remote was actually transmitting infrared, it was. In frustration, I tapped the buttons rapidly while pointing at the Apple TV. The Apple TV responded. The next button press it failed to respond. I tapped rapidly again and it finally responded. After many many rapid presses, while pointing directly at the Apple TV, it finally began responding to all presses. Once I'd regained control (I thought) I unpaired and re-paired the remote. Everything continued to work. At that time I also saw that I could "learn" another remote. So, I set up my Samsung TV remote. Sweet. Until the Apple TV went into screensaver mode again and I had to go through the same rapid button press sequence... with either the Apple remote or my learned Samsung remote. Conclusion, since the Apple TV will become fully responsive after the rapid button press sequence, it is certainly a software related problem.

  • HT201343 I tried setting sound to apple tv before mirroring and it did not work. Any other suggestions?

I tried the solution of selecting sound in System Preferences before turning on mirroring and it did not work. Any other settings I need to worry about?

You can only update an app from the AppleID that was used to purchase it.

  • HT1595 I am not able to connect from my laptop to airplay mirroring equipment, icon is not showing on my laptop.

I am not able to connect from my laptop to airplay mirroring equipment, icon is not showing on my laptop. It does show when I hook up a HDMI wire to the apple TV box.

I think you mean Ethernet, not HDMI wire. If the airplay icon is showing up when wired then that would indicate an issue with your wifi network.

There are some USB IR receivers that allow the Apple Reomote to work with software such as Remote Buddy

  • IPhone 4 Remote App Not working

    Hello,
Sorry for posting another 'not working' thread, but having searched the forum I cannot find my answer.
I am not very technical, but I have iTunes and an iPhone 4.
I have the remote app and the app has worked perfectly up until recently.
I have upgraded iTunes to 10 and also my antivirus.
Now I know alot of these things could be caused by the firewall, but I have allowed iTunes to be let through the firewall and I have switched off the firewall in the past to ensure it was not this.
When I switch on the computer and open iTunes then go to the remote app it works. It is when the iPhone 'sleeps' that the library wont re connect, OR if i have been using iTunes and then try and start the remote that it will not work.
Any ideas at all as it is so frustrating. I am not technically minded, so switching router channels etc and proxy settings/DHCP etc dont really make sense to me.
I have tried rebooting everything including the router, but believe it is something simple as it was working prior to iTunes 10.
I am running a PC on Vista
    Thanks
    Steve

no I use both ipad2 iphone4 with remote app and have no issues with ios
try removing the setup and start over

  • Airplay from quicktime movie does not  work

I just updated my iPad2 to iOS5 and my ATV2 to the latest version (4.4, I believe). Both are working fine and runnin the new versions.
Then I started Safari on the iPad2, loaded the page with the iPhone 4S presentation and played it. Plays fine on the iPad. Then I select the airplay button and it lets me choose between iPad and Apple TV. Good too. But the Apple Tv fails with a complaint about not being able to play the type of content.
    Should this not just work?
    Thanks.

Thank you. I converted the file to .MOV and it now works on Safari but has not worked on Firefox (have not tried yet on a Windows based machine). At least headed in the right direction. I will also contact 1and1. Thanks again.

  • LaserJet Pro MFP M125nw - Scan to app All-in-One Remote does not work

    Hi gurus,
Basically I have pruchased that super-printer and I am now trying to achieve scan to my mobile devices.
I have one iPad 2 on iOS 7, on 2 Android devices (smaller tablet and phone) both running Kitkat 4.4.2
I am trying to submit a scan from all these devices and retrieve the output within my mobile devices, actually this is fairly described here and concerns accurately my printer model :  http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02486319&tmp_task=useCategory&cc=us&destPage=pr...
    Unfortunately, What happens :
    - From my iPad, the AiO app states that my printer is not compatible with the application !!
    - From my 2 Android devices, the All-in-One Remote app will work fine, except the scan feature as nothing happens (well, when tapping either 'Preview' or 'Scan' button in the Scan section, I see a 'Cancel' button during 0,1 second and I am back to that scan section)
Any one could help please ???
    This question was solved.

    Hello,
    Can no one help ?
Is the product description misleading ? Is the AiO app not really reasy to support this printer ?
