Airplay mirroring problem

Guys! Guys!
I'm fen up with it!
Can not take it anymore!
New airmirror future is perfect! The whole idea is correct and great!
BUT there is always big BUT.
I have airport extream, atv 2012, MBA i7 late 2011 with mountain lion 10.8.2.
Atv plugged to airport extream via broadband. Local network runs on 5GHZ. MBA uses 5MHZ network also.
Problem:
7 times of 10 airmirroring can't stream audio to tv.
I turn it on, then my desktop apears on my tv.
But sound still comes from my macbook air tiny speakers!
There is only one way to cure it for one time - reset atv then turn on airplay again. It gets me 2-3 minutes to restart.
I think it's not the way apple desinged it.
Updated it - no result either.
What else can I do?
It's not a big problem but it's start to getting on my nerves.
UPD:
I have manually set ip and dns in my office where I take my mba, can it affect atv in anyway?

4.1?  Or 4.4.1?  I just restored and got 'updated' to a 4.3 (####) - Basically a later release of 4.3.  I am still not seeing 4.4 or 4.4.1.
Any idea how to update short of connecting it physically to my computer?
Please?

  • After updating to iOS 8.1.3 the AirPlay mirroring problem seems to be an result of this. Audio comes out but there's a black screen.

Mirroring my iPhone 6 Plus worked fine before the the iOS 8.1.3 update, but now only audio plays with a black screen, occasionally saying "an error has occurred, please try again later". I have tried many ways to fix this problem, but has been unsuccessful. This happened multiple times in the past too. I'm so mad they never improve and fix this problem. >:( Grrr...

If you are just getting audio then that is not mirroring. Are you going to control centre, tapping airplay and toggling ON mirroring?

  • Airplay mirroring problems from MacBook Pro only

I have the second newest MacBook Pro (the one that came out before the retina display) and an apple tv (Generation 3) that i just purchased last week. When i go to do airplay mirroring to put youtube or movies on the sound is perfect but the video is only a blurry picture of my screen and it updates the picture about once every minute and gets stuck on another blurred picture. but i also have an iPhone 4S and an iPad 2 and airplay mirroring work just fine on that. Any answers to this would be awesome!!!
P.S. i bought the Apple TV to stream the BCS Bowl from my MacBook to my tv and that day we used it the airplay mirroring worked Flawless, but since that day it has been acting screwy.

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

  • HT201335 Anyone have an iPhone AirPlay mirror problem?

My Apple TV is working with ipad and MacBook but not my iPhone. The Airplay logo is working on it but there is no option for AirPlay mirror so the picture is not transferring to TV. Does anyone else have this problem?

I had the same problem when it turned out AirPlay was turned off from the Apple TV. I was surprised because we had used AirPlay before and no one said they turned it off. Here is what you do:
    1. Select the Settings icon from the Apple TV main menu
    2. Select the AirPlay section in Settings
    3. Turn on AirPlay at the top of the menu
As soon as I turned it on, mirroring with my iPod touch 5th generation was working completely fine! I'm sure it will work with your iPhone.

I have a Linksys E2700, i'm having a hard time connecting my iPad 2 with apple tv 3rd gen, the airplay icon is there but every time I try to mirror it, it just freezes and hangs for a while, then the apple tv returns to its own menu screen, but with iPhone 4s, no problem at all

Sorted - with the help of a kindly Apple employee.... "kindly" 'cos he DIDN'T say I was an idioit!!  : ))
Basically, I was looking for an iconm on the screen - hadn't reralised I need to scroll upwards, from the bottom  : ((

when i use i pad with apple tv for see my photo, youtube and movies all ok.

I suspect that the problem is in your router. Do NOT consider your router to be blameless if some other devices seem to work with it.
Try restarting your WiFi router by removing power for 30 seconds. Don't just turn it Off. On many routers that doesn't really do anything but put the router into standby mode. If that does not help check for a firmware update for your router. If none exists which corrects the problem consider replacing the router.
There is a chance that some services turned on in your router could be causing problems. Look for a setting called QoS (Quality of Service). If ON turn it OFF.
If you need more help please give the make, model, and version of your WiFi router and how you have it configured.

  • Problem with Airplay Mirroring: Image Cut Off

I have a mid 2011 Macbook Pro.   I have installed Mountain Lion.   I am able to activate Airplay Mirroring, however, part of the image is cut off.   In other words, what is shown on my TV is only about 2/3 of the image that is shown on my macbook.    It is not showing a black bar, or anything like that.   It is more like the image is enlarged and doesn't fit on the TV screen.
I have searched the internet trying to find a solution.   I haven't found anyone with this problem.   So, my question is, do I have some settings wrong?   Or is it a problem with the settings on my TV?   If anyone has suggestions for troubleshooting this problem I would be grateful!   I really want to use airplay!
    Thanks!

  • Problem with AirPlay mirroring with iTunes

    Hi,
I have a new iMac (purchased April 2013) running OS X Mountain Lion and am having issue with AirPlay mirroring with iTunes via Apple TV 3 running the latest update.
I have no problem streaming ITunes music (audio) to my Apple TV 3 via AirPlay.
However, when I enable Airplay Mirroring to ATV3 (either via System Prefs or via the Airplay Mirroring menulet icon at upper right of the screen), 2 things happen:
    1. My iMac screen gets mirrored to my HDTV via ATV3 as expected (good)
    2. Music (audio) stops playing via ATV3 (bad) - this is the key issue I am trying to resolve
When i disable Airplay Mirroring, I am able to again play music via ATV3.
Am I missing a setting somewhere to enable BOTH video and audio Airplay mirroring from my iMac via ATV3?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

I think I have found the reason for my problem...

    Supported Macs
AirPlay Mirroring in OS X Mountain Lion takes advantage of the hardware video encoding capabilities of 2nd and 3rd Generation Intel Core processors. Hardware video encoding allows AirPlay Mirroring to efficiently deliver high frame rates while maintaining optimal system performance. The following Mac models have processors that support AirPlay Mirroring:
    iMac (Mid 2011 or newer)
Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer)
MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer)

  • Problem with Airplay Mirroring - freezes screen on ATV whilst playing movies

Airplay Mirroring disfunctions when playing movies in Vuze, freezing screen on ATV, leaving sound only. I am using a Mac Pro running Mountain Lion. Has anybody experienced the same please?

    AdriHD wrote:
Reason I ask is that I work from home and I've copied all of my DVD's into iTunes.
What I was hoping to achieve would be able to work on the laptop whilst the movies stream (not on the laptop panel) but directly to the ATV?
If you are saying that you have converted video to AppleTV compatible h264 (discussing converting commercial DVDs is prohibited by Apple's rules) and added it to iTunes, you can do what you want without using Airplay at all.
With both AppleTV and Mac on the same network, and Home Sharing enabled on both (for AppleTV 2/3) you can simply stream from the computer to AppleTV under AppleTV's computers icon.  If you have a silver AppleTV1 you need to pair it to your iTunes library to achieve the same.
While your Mac does not support Airplay mirroring, iTunes has supported video Airplay to AppleTV 2/3 for a long time - it is different to mirroring and just pushes the stream rather than AppleTV pulling it.
Apple have blocked Airplay of DVD Player output via Airplay mirroring which is pretty poor.
For general desktop mirroring you might want to look at Airparrot:
    http://airparrot.com
Sky block Airplay from iOS, not sure if Apple allow blcoking of Airplay of certain things from the Mac in the same way as DVD player.

  • HT204291 Problem with Airplay or AirPlay Mirroring

I am not able to use AirPlay or AirPlay Mirroring to stream content like Hulu (not Hulu plus) to my Apple TV from my PC.  I disabled the firewall and that did not help.

How are you trying to do this?  It would require mirroring and you seem to have a PC not mac.  If that is the case you need a third party app called airparrot www.airparrot.com which should give you the ability to 'mirror'.  It has mixed reviews but I found it fine until I got mirroring.

    Hello Cate,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with AirPlay on your Apple TV.  I found a couple of resources I recommend for the issue you described.
If you are experiencing the issue when AirPlaying from from an iOS device, I recommend following the steps in the section titled "Troubleshooting performance issues with AirPlay or AirPlay Mirroring" in the following article:

When I click mirroring to turn it on, teh Apple TV screen goes blank (from its home setting)

    Hi!
I figured it out! It was a firewall issue.
I use Handsoff and I checked it before i wrote here. There was no "user defined rule" that denied the communication but when i changed to "All rules" the program displayed several rules regarding AppleTV and its IP.
So if anybody has the same problem make sure you see all rules of your firewall and get rid of the AppleTV related rules generated by the program itself. You dont need to update to the latest iOS on the AppleTV!
I hope that I can help some people with this info to fix the problem.
