AirPlay stop audio streaming closing iPad control app

Just bought AirPort Express.
Wifi connected to my NAS, used to stream music to my old stereo that is in another room using analogic audio out.
Opening iPad control app I can select and play music, but when I close the app (not leaving in background, closing down or shutting down iPad) the audio stream stop.
In the control app (DS Audio from Synology) I also can't select AirPort Express as player in settings, only iPad is listed. I can correctly select AirPort for AirPlay.
NAS firewall is configured to allow AirPlay, AirPort firmware is latest release, I use iPad 2 with iOS 6.01.
Any suggestion?

also i want to specify something............if am using loopback address,the sender and receiver(in this typical code,capture and receive files) ought to have diff. ports( i suppose as their ips are already same)
or am i wrong???
i have given same ports.......i had tried once with diff. ports........miraculously perhaps it worked (the sound was echoed through my headphone),....but next time when i tried i failed......and still failing........any suggestions please waiting eagerly

  • Issues w/ iPod audio streaming from iPad 2 to AppleTV 2?

    Are there known issues with streaming music from iPad 2 to ATV2 via AirPlay? Streaming the exact same music at the exact same bit rate from my iPhone 4 works flawlessly. However, from the iPad 2, 256K MP3s are extremely choppy -- whether I'm using the iPad or not.
    Video streaming from the iPad is flawless. The network is fine. And like I said, the iPhone 4 handles streaming from the iPod app perfectly.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

    Good signal strength is not necessarily an indication you don't have issues with your network. Any devices that are capable of being connected by ethernet and with in close proximity to each other should be.
    Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
    You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
    Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel.

  • AS3 stopping audio streaming inside a layer

    Sometimes I get ahead of myself and have to stop and say how the hell did I do this before? I'm referring to a simple stop button I need to put in a flash animation. I know how to code calling a sound from the library, starting and stopping. But how do I stop audio that is streaming inside a layer from a button ?
    var my_sound:Sound = new Sound();
    my_sound.load(new URLRequest("yoursoundfile.mp3"));
    var my_channel:SoundChannel = new SoundChannel();
    //2.
    play_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, playSound);
    stop_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, stopSound);
    //3.
    function playSound(event:MouseEvent):void{
    my_channel = my_sound.play();
    //4.
    function stopSound(event:MouseEvent):void{
    my_channel.stop();

    OK what I actually need is a mute and play button for the audio track
    So how can I stop, or in this case mute the audio without stopping the animation, follow?
    example, volume is at 100
    click button volume goes to 0
    click same button or another button volume goes back to 100

  • Making and storing long audio recordings - which iPad, which app, how to sync?

    I work in a dental practice.  We're required to make detailed notes each time we see a patient – it's important, but really tedious, and very little of the information is ever actually used.
    My idea is to make an audio recording of the sessions to do away with this boring part of the job.  I thought an iPad might be a fun way to do it.
    My vision is that I would use an app (like Voice Memo on my iPhone).  I would start it at the beginning of each appointment (having received consent to do so from the patient).  At the end of the appointment I would sync it into iTunes, and rename the file with the patient's name.
    Can anybody recommend an app for this?  Appointments might typically run between 15-60 minutes.
    Is there a certain iPad I need for this?  Do they all have voice mics?
    Can anybody tell me how an iPad syncs with itself?  By this I mean how do I get the audio files out of my voice memo app and onto my iTunes app on the iPad?
    Finally, is there a way to somehow archive the voice memos to the Cloud or something?  I'm conscious that this will create lots of really big files.  At some point I'll need to get them off the iPad.  Is it possible to do this without exporting them to a desktop computer?  I'm trying to make this all run from one device (the iPad) if at all possible.
    Thank you very much for reading this and for any advice you can offer!
    –CK.

    I see no reason why you shouldn't use the same Voice Memo app you already see on your iPhone.  In fact, you could use your iPhone for this, and no need to buy an iPad.  Though I don't know how big voice files get.  It seems to be about 450 Kilobytes per minute for voice-quality.  Call it two minutes a Megabyte, 30 Megabytes an hour.
    If you use the Voice Memo app just continue syncing your iDevice with iTunes as normal.  The voice files appear in iTunes listed as 'Voice Memos'.  They're .m4a files (MPEG4 audio format) and can be played with iTunes and lots of other audio software.  Once the files are on your computer you could copy them out of iTunes, make folders for them (one folder per day ?  one folder per patient ?), etc..
    You could make your iPad save these files straight to 'the cloud' but I would actually recommend continuing to put them on a 'normal' computer (Mac or Windows).  I do not yet trust 'the cloud' with business-critical information.
    You could test all this out with your iPhone before figuring out which iPad to buy or whether it'll work at all with an iPad.

  • Streaming audio from my IPAD to my Apple TV from Rhapsody application.  when Apple TV go into Screen Saver mode, about 5 minutes after that it stops playing the Audio Stream and goes into Sleep mode.

    I am Streaming audio from my IPAD to my Apple TV from Rhapsody application.  when Apple TV go into Screen Saver mode, about 5 minutes after that it stops playing the Audio Stream and goes into Sleep mode.  I am using the Optical Out from the Apple TV to my receiver, the Apple TV is hard Wired to the Network, the IPAD is Wirelessly attached to the network (it continues to play the Audio Stream).  When the Apple TV is turned back on it resumes playing once I manual select it for output from the IPAD.  All device are on current releases of software.  I have no Video hooked up to the Apple TV.  How do I correct this?

    Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
    You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
    Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
    There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

  • Ipad audio stream stops

    I've had the ipad (new) since April 2012. The problem arose not long after the purchase and doesn't seem to be getting any better, no surprise! The problem being, audio stream stops. Sometimes the stream can be restarted by nothing more than opening up the audio steam homepage, or sometimes starting a different audio file within the homepage and then click back to the original stream, all the way to turning the ipad off and restarting...and even this has mixed results. At times even using all of the aforementioned has mixed results with varying intervals lasting anywhere from 30 seconds to 15 minutes, then at times can last for hours. I've double checked the problem comparing simultaneously with my laptop and it appears the problem is ipad only. There are numerous online posts concerning this but haven't yet found a solution to the problem.
    Thanks to anyone helping with the resolve!

    Nah, forget it; I just remembered what really used to happen (which still happens):
    I used to open a new Safari window (not a new tab), open the radio stream in that new window, then switch to my previous Safari window with all my tabs. Then it works.
    For some reason, I don't have to do this (i.e. open two different windows as opposed to two tabs) in Firefox.
    I really like and prefer Safari to most browsers, but I have to admit, it's rather flaky in a number of ways. This is one of them.

  • Airplay ceases to stream iPod app from iPhone4 to ATV2, all else works

    So, I have been running the new ATV since it came out, streaming without any issues from the get-go, all streamable / Airplay content, from my iPhone4. All apps / software is UTD on all devices.
    After updating to the new Apple remote app, I can no longer stream the audio from the iPod app. The airplay button is there, it turns blue, but nothing comes through the ATV. This also applies to Pandora.
    All the other apps (Youtube, pictures, Macbook etc) are completely fine via Airplay, ie this seems to be isolated to Ipod app / Pandora ie audio only.
    Help!
    Have rebooted all devices several times to no avail.

    Same here. See below. I think we need to send a trouble ticket to apple:
    Have Apple TV, Macbook, iPad and iPhone. All updated to the latest OS versions.
    Movies (including youtube) streams fine from iPad or iPhone to Apple TV using Airplay.
    But music alone won't. So if I play a song on iPod or Pandora, I get the Airplay icon, I select Apple TV, but no audio comes out of the apple tv. It thinks it is streaming, but it isn't. But movies (with the corresponding audio) streams to Apple TV fine.
    On the other hand, music from my macbook goes to Apple TV fine.
    It is just streaming music from iPad and iPhone that doesn't work.
    Note, my problem is not that I don't get the Airplay icon-- I do. It just thinks that it is streaming and nothing is happening.
    I've rebooted Apple TV, iPhone and iPad. No success.
    Anyone else seeing this? Any thoughts?

  • TS4085 iPad 2 mirroring audio streaming issues - TuneIn radio

    I have an iPad 2 with Apple TV. Both are up to date. I am streaming TuneIn Radio audio over AirPlay (mirroring) through Apple TV to home stereo receiver, via Toslink optical audio cable. When I am using other iPad apps, the signal breaks up. (I do not have this problem when streaming from iPad 2 via bluetooth to wireless speakers.) What is the fix?

    Hi Sean
    Album cover art is not showing on apple tv from Tunein app on Ipad.
    Cover art is on ipad while streaming radio van Tunein.
    Music is playable through apple tv.
    Unfortunately the album cover art dos not appear on TV.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    iPad 2

  • Audio stream (LCCS) persisted after browser closed

    In our app, audio and video streams are published into a room while the users are chatting.
    We were told that it is not necessary to explicitly stop publication; logging out of the room is sufficient.
    Tonight I just had an experience where my chat partner tried to leave the room, experienced a bug, and then closed his browser (Chrome).  He used a tool to kill the process (Chrome) but the audio stream was still being published and audio was going both ways.  He could still hear me, and I him, even though his browser was no longer open.

    I might have to switch to the dreaded Internet Explorer over this. Chrome has no way to change the menu bars around.... which is too Microsoft-like for me. I don't even know if IE lets you modify menu sizes/positions. I left IE because a past version wouldn't let you mess with the menus.
    I found to stop an audio stream from playing after you close a browser window killing the Firefox process works. But I don't know if that is because it is a Firefox issue, or killing Firefox also kills any Flash add-ons.
    Grrrrrrrrr.

  • Howto stop ipad refreshing apps each time shifting the app to background

    IIpad 2 16 gb , 3G.
    application in the background are always refresh and start from zero if you left it for seconds and shift to another application, specially safari and a lot of other apps.
    how to stop this.

    This has been happening to me also since I hooked up Apple TV for the first time yesterday. My iPad gets two bars of wifi strength in our living room, which is fine for surfing but evidently not good enough for Pandora. When I bring the iPad 40 feet away to the router in my office, it gets all 3 bars of wifi strength and works perfectly.
    I think what is happening is that the less than full strength signal confuses the ipad when it is in Airplay mode, and then the iPad drops out of Airplay and defaults to it's local speakers. This is a drag, and so now I'm debating whether to buy the Apple Airport Extreme router, which everybody raves about for it's long range and powerful signal. My Linksys is not very impressive, and I've already spent too many fruitless hours with their tech support people tweaking the settings to no avail.
    It is surprising that two out of three bars is not adequate to ensure good Pandora streaming performance, so I have no way of knowing if moving to a better router will dove the problem.

  • After iOS 5.1. Photo stream stopped working on my iPad

    After updating to  iOS 5.1. Photo stream stopped working on my iPad 2. I tried turning it off and on.reset the iPad too. I didnt do anything else to make photo stream  stop working.I tried closing the camera app before trying to access photo stream and waited to see if it would upload to iCloud and nothing. Photo stream works fine on my iPhone 4. Advice and help please?

    Having the same problem on my wife's iPad2. All settings are correct. If I take a pic with the iPad, it shows up on her iPhone4 in Photo Stream. When I access Photo Stream on her iPad2, there is nothing there. Here's the really weird part: when I add a photo to iMessage on her iPad2, it lets me select Photo Stream and the photos are there!!! Any fixes besides a restore???

  • I want to be able to use airplay to stream audio to another iOS device, and then use that audio stream to be used when recording video instead of the built in microphone / microphone input. Is this possible?

    I want to be able to use airplay to stream audio to another iOS device, and then use that audio stream to be used when recording video instead of the built in microphone / microphone input. Is this possible?

    A third-party app probably cannot obtain a stream from another app. To the best of my knowledge, such a capability is not provided in the software development kit, apps being "sandboxed" from each other and so allowed to communicate only in very specific and limited ways.
    I'm not completely sure what you mean by "limitations on video capture". An iPhone, to the best of my knowledge, can natively record video only through it's built-in camera, and audio while doing video recording only through the built-in microphone or mic/headphone jack. There might be a video recording app that would allow audio input from an external device connected to the dock connector, but I'm not sure.
    Regards.

  • AirPlay stops working when iPad screen blanks

    I found that after upgrading my iPad 2 to iOS 5 and Apple TV to iOS 4.4 AirPlay video no longer continues in the background. When I move away from the iPad 2 app that is steaming to the TV or the iPad 2 locks itself (screen blanks), the Apple TV stops playing the video. This worked fine before the iOS updates.

    I have exactly the same issue with iPad2/OS 5.0.1 and Apple TV 2/OS 4.4.3(3323), it happens with all video applications and browsers in both cases, e.g. auto locking or swithing to another application.
    The issue doesn't happen before I upgrade to iOS 5, this really *****, it makes the Airplay completely useless!
    I can't believe this stupid bug doesn't be found by the QA tests, they're making cool features like Airplay Mirror, but they made Airplay unable to use at the same time.
    I wish it could be fixed in 5.0.1 update but "NO", so now I would have to wait for 5.0.2. I really hope somebody in Apple's engineering team is looking at this forum and post, since this is the first time I'm posting here and I don't hope it unresponded...

  • Is Mobile Safari's in-app multitasking (audio stream in one tab, browsing in another) gone for good?

    I cannot remember the last iOS version this feature actually worked, but in the past, I used to be able to open a tab in Mobile Safari, begin streaming audio from a website, pinch in to bring up standard UI again, and then open up another tab within Safari itself and continue to browse the web. All the while the streaming audio is still playing in the background.
    Now (and actually for the last few iOS versions, it's been a while), you cannot browse Safari while listening to a Safari audio stream at the same time. To me this makes no sense at all, because it's just a simple backgrounding concept. I can go off and use any other app on my phone, but not Safari itself.
    There ARE a few ways to kind of trick Safari into allowing you to browse and listen, but it's a poor workaround. You can go to the website, tap-and-hold on the stream URL, then select Open in Background. Doing so will begin the stream and keep you in the current webpage and then allow you to open more tabs.
    HOWEVER, if you ever select that audio stream tab, you can't control it consistently, and most of the time you'll get stuck in that tab and your solution is broken.
    For YEARS I've been waiting for Apple to fix this silly limitation with each new iOS release, but every time I find that it's never fixed. I'm just surprised that I don't hear more people complaining about it, because it's been a huge source of frustration for me for so long.
    Does anyone else experience this frustration or know if this is intentional (which would be enormously depressing if Apple purposely designed these functions) or if there are any better solutions to it than what I've come up with?

    Thanks for the heads up.
    Odd that I can't just email their support department.
    I'll post back with my results.
