Airplay with MACBOOK Pro Lag but work find with other IOS device
When I do airplay from my Macbok pro retina display video start lagging but same work fine from IPad and IPhone.

Airplay on macbook pro 17" NOT WORKING!

I've searched around on this and other forums for a solution to this problem, to no avail.
First, the specs:
Apple TV is running Apple TV Software 6.0.1 (6646.80.1) and in direct line of sight to Macbook Pro
Macbook Pro 17” is mid 2010 2.53 GHz Intel Core I5 with 8 GB RAM running Mavericks 10.9
Both are connected (strongly) to the same 802.11n wireless network
What I'm doing:
I turn on the Apple TV and go to settings —> Airplay —> turned ON
I go to my Macbook preferences, choose Displays and get the following screen — nowhere does Airplay appear in this menu!
What am I missing? It seems like my hardware and software are both too current for me not to have Airplay mirroring/desktop extension capabilities.

Thanks to the $15 Beamer, AirPlay streaming is still possible on Macs that do not support Airplay and mirroring.
Other solutions are the Air Parrot, StreamToMe, and AirServer. -
Airplay on Macbook Pro no longer working?
As you can see from the title my Airplay mirroring suddenly decided to stop working on my brand new 13" 2.9 GHz i7 Macbook Po running Version 10.8.2. I have the 3rd gen Apple TV. When i first bought the product it worked for the past 3 months and suddenly it no longer works and after trying many fixes i am at a loss.
1) YES i am on the same wifi network
2) YES my hardware is capable and up to date
3) YES homesharing is enabled
4) YES airplay is turned on the ATV
5) YES i have tried resetting both ATV AND Macbook AND Router
If anyone has any ideas i would greatly appreciate it! Thank you.I think I have it fixed

How do I download iLife on my MacBook Pro (for free) after purchasing a new iOS device
Hello,
I watched the most recent keynote address just like everybody else and was very happy to hear that Apple was going to provide the new iLife and iWork software for free with the purchase of a new Mac device or iOS device. So, I went and purchased a new iPhone 5S. Now how do I get my free copy of this software on my MacBook Pro (Mid-2010) running Mavericks?
Any help would be appreciated.

MarcusYou must be running Mavericks and have purchased the iLife 11 apps, either they came with the Mac or from a purchased iLIfe 11 disk, in order to upgrade to iPhoto 9.5 for free.

Macbook pro is not working with Canon pixma iP1500 but has previously. Printer works with an old PC but macbook shows "printer is offline". Any clues?

What's going on with iCloud (MobileMe)? I'm able to sign in here, but I can't access mail on my Macbook Pro, iPhone, or work computer. I always get an authorization error (user-id or passwork wrong). This has been going on for almost a week now.
The single download means that you won't be able to redownload it from the store without paying, either on a computer's iTunes or an iOS device - it doesn't stop you from copying the audiobook to your other computers or syncing it to your iOS devices, you just can't redownload it. (I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them requiring the one-time download.)
You can download audiobooks on your computer's iTunes and sync them to iOS devices, you do not have to buy them directly on the device (if you do then you can copy them back to your computer's iTunes library by connecting the device and using the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option on your computer's iTunes).
What you are doing to sync them should work i.e.
- connecting the iPad to your Mac
- selecting the iPad on your Mac's iTunes
- selecting its Books tab and selecting the audiobooks that you want to sync to the iPad and syncing/applying that selection.
You should then get an audiobooks option in the Music app on your iPad. If they aren't appearing there then do they show in Settings > General > Usage > Music on the device - if you have audiobooks on the iPad then they should be listed there under an 'audiobooks' heading.
By 'restart the iPad' do you mean a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
You could also try closing its Music app via the iPad's taskbar : Force an app to close in iOS.
And do a soft-reset and retry syncing.

Hi I'm thinking of buying Adobe After Effects CC for my MacBook Pro. But I am worried it won't work. Here are my specs 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5, 4 GB Ram, 1333 MHz DDR3,13-inch (1280 x 800) are my displays and I'm up to date with latest software. I need to know if this will work on this Mac and or if there is any other After Effects that will work.
The display would not. However, your model does not have a discrete GPU, and the integrated (Intel 3000) would not meet CS6's requirements (any CS6 software) alone.

Apple reports that "memory available to Mac OS X may vary depending on graphics needs. Minimum graphics memory usage is 384 MB". *If upgraded to 8 GB of RAM (or more), 512 MB will be reserved for video function.
In other words, you would need to upgrade your RAM to 8 GB. The VRAM (video ram) of the processor can exceed its specifications if you upgrade your memory to 8 GB. In order to run the software, you would have to upgrade your RAM first:

Iphoto on my macbook pro has stopped working. It comes up with a message saying that the library is either being used by another user or it is unreadable. Any ideas why I should be receiving this message?

Offered solution doesn't work:
Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again. If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library. To do this, quit iPhoto, and then reopen it while keeping the Option and Command keys pressed. You can also try restoring your photo library from a backup.
I have already copied my photographs to the a library manager but when I tried to reuse iphoto and import the photos back into iphoto, it would not let me.
I can't download photographs from my iphone or my digital camera.
Any ideas on how I can solve this problem?
There is a possibility that when I went to update applications that I started to install Mavericks which I then interrupted and cancelled. I am not definite that this caused this problem but it was at about the same time as when this problem started.

EdI have already copied my photographs to the a library manager but when I tried to reuse iphoto and import the photos back into iphoto, it would not let me.
You can't "copy" your photos to the "library manager", there is just no way to any such thing.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

How do I add my new iPhone4s to iCloud's "Find my iPhone"? I followed the iCloud instructions and turned on Macbook Pros' system prefs to "find my mac", turned on iPhone4s's "location services" and set up iCloud, etc. In the "Find my iphone" tab of my new iCloud account (on my Macbook Pro) my iPhone4s still won't show—but my macbook does show. I had my iPhone4s set up at the phone store (2 days ago) and It receives gmail, my contacts and calender entries, the weather, etc. I installed the "Find iPhone" app from iTunes on the iPhone4s, synched to iTunes, even reset the phone, but the only device that gets located is my Macbook Pro. I can send a "sound" message to my Mac (and the Mac recieves it) but unable to see the iPhone4s from my Mac, let alone send any message. Any suggestions to get the iPhone4s device to appear in iCloud?
Thank you in advance for your help.OK, I figured it out...I deleted the iCloud account off my iPhone (Settings, iCloud, Delete Account), and then added iCloud back in (Settings, iCloud, SignIn)....and then my email (iCloud) and "Find my phone" features worked! Nice!!!!

I want to buy a new Macbook pro 15", but I don't like Lion, I want Leopard installed, is there any issues with drivers or any other I should be aware of?
Hello, I've tried Lion from the day they released to last week I got my computer formated and with leopard again, on my iMac 24" from early 2009 2.9 Ghz core 2 duo, and I have installed 8 Gb of memory, and i have some complains about it, there are some cosmetic issues but mostly I'm concerned about issues bellow the hood, as I'm a stock trader and I depend completly from my computer's performance, let me explain:
Superficial issues:
1. They took off "spaces" and I liked it.
2. I dont use the magic mouse, I need a more accurate mouse for my charts, and it seems they built the entire OS assuming you would use the magic mouse for gestures, scroll, etc to try to mimic in some way the Ipad and Iphone functions, but what if you arent using it like me?
3. I never used that little rocket icon that makes all your apps appear and that could be one of the "improvements on Lion", at first sight it looks nice and slick, but if you try to use it and make it part of your daily use, you would find it is useless, it is a pain to try to arrange it the way you like it, so I rather use the spotlight to search for my apps, its faster.
Now the MOST important, 'performance':
1. It completly suffocate my computers hardware Leopard much more lighter, beggining from the start up that taked almost 1/3 or twice the time, and I think Lion has some bugs bellow the hood, i was doing my normal stuff, some apps running and everything, and suddenly I started to feel the computer a little slow, safari taking forever to open the pages for example, and I opened the activity monitor to see what was going on, and it was there, I was using 4 or 5 gb from my memory, and CPU making insane peaks, and Im using 2.46 gb as im writing it doing exactly the same stuff, (but Im happily using Leopard now), and it wasnt once, as i told before, I used lion since the day they released it and happened several times until it drove me nutts. But leopard not problem in that regard at all, Never.
hope this helps, and hope some apple guys read that because lion resulted in a big disappointment for me. -
I face to this problem since new OS, Yosemite has installed on my mac book
some of my application in macbook pro doesn't work properly with Os Yosemite, such as dictionary (mac dictionary) and MplayerX and etc
For example when I make MplayerX and such application fullscreen the screen become white and just voice of video can be heard or when I use Mac Dictionary (look-up dictionary) in any pages the meaning of work is not appear ( look at the picture above), so i need to directly open dictionary to find the meaning.

I have a iMac desktop and a macbook pro laptop I work mainly on the desktop but when i go away for work I take my laptop. Is there any way to make it automatically back up to mirror my desktop? Like when I update a file it updates on there too, if I install software it installs on there too etc?
When I first got the laptop I syned it to load with all the same software etc but it hasn't continued to sync

Hi Apple Team, my iphone can't share bluetooth files with my macbook pro. But other devices can share bluetooth files with my mac book pro. Please, kindly open up bluetooth to accept all connections from all devices. Now it difficult for me to share bluetooth files from my mac bookpro to my iphone, unless i attached it through email.
We need it to be acceptable to all devices.

If you are running Lion or Mountain Lion, the drivers are downloaded from within Bootcamp Assistant. If you are running Snow Leopard the drivers are on your Snow Leopard install disk.
