Airport 3.0.4 for Mac os X
I have been looking for a airport update for my computer.
currently I have Airport 2.1.1 I think.
I found this link: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120200 but that is mac os x 10.1.5
Then I found this link: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120201 but the link seems to be dead and it is the link I need. Does anyone know where I can download it at or if thier is a new version I did a lot of searching and found nothing.

The least version that I could find is 3.1.1 and I'm on my mac typing it so it works.

You likely downloaded AirPort Utility 5.6.1 for Mac, which is only for Snow Leopard and Leopard operating systems.....so it will not run on Lion. -
I am trying to connect a WD Mybook for Mac to my airport/time machine device. On the AirPort Utility it listed under Disks at 0 Mb. I enabled file sharing. And also followed all the steps - "secured disk access: with a disk passord", "Airport disk guest access: read and write", "Share disks over WAN". But nothing happens. If I plug it directly into my MacBook it works fine. How do I fix it? Also, its connected via a powered usb hub.
I assume that you are using Mac operating system 10.4.11, as your profile indicates.
The instructions that you referenced are for use with AirPort Utility....not AirPort Admin Utility.
Suggest that you download and install AirPort Utility 5.4.2 for Mac , which will run on 10.4.11.
Also noticed that the instructions do not tell you that the hard drive should be formatted in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) to work with the AirPort Extreme, but they should. -
Can't find AirPort 4.2 for Mac OS X 10.4.x software for Intel Mac Book
I have an Intel Mac Book and recently picked up a graphite AirPort on eBay without software. I installed the Installer updaters and Mac OSX 1.4.9 Combo update. I can not install AirPort software 2.0 - the error says I can not install on this machine. I went on the Apple site to find AirPort 4.2 for Mac OS X 10.4.x and can not locate the download. Any ideas?

Thank you for welcoming me and yur information. I now see that I have the software, but I'm still having issues. I can't get the airport to see the internet. It knows there is an internet connection in the Network Assistant, but fails on the diagnostic. Further, after a restart, the Admin Utility does not list the IP address I the window.
I wondered if this was because of the software version update becausse it said it fixes an issue with Comcast (my ISP).
I wanted to use the Admin Utility to configure the Airport from scratch, but how can I if the base station is not in the list? -

I have a 2nd Gen Touch with the latest updated software. I use Airport to connect to the internet on my new iMac 24". Will the AirPort Extreme 802.11n* Enabler software now offered in the Apple store($1.99) for Mac improve communications between the Touch and my iMac?
ThanksNope. Your touch is still limited to b/g mode wireless. In fact, if you have an all n network, your touch won't even know that it exists.
Most of your Mac to iPod communication is via the USB cable unless you are using Remote or other applications that can move files on and off.
BTW, that software is to enable early intel Macs to use N wireless. If your Mac is relatively new, you won't need it.

have the airport extreme, square model. have a external harddrive formated for mac hooked up to the usb port in back.
i can't find the harddrive on the computer for back up in timemachine. what am i doing wrong?First, if you are not aware, you need to know that Apple does not officially support Time Machine backups to a drive at the USB port of the AirPort Extreme.
That may be part of the problem here, so if you want to continue to try this, you need to understand that there are no guarantees of success.
Some users do seem to be able to make this work, but most have some problems and some....like me....have nothing but problems when they try this.
If you want to continue to try this, the first thing to verify is that the drive is formatted specifically in Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Have you verified that the drive is formatted correctly by connecting it directly to your Mac and using Disk Utility to check?
Some drives that are advertised as being "compatible for Mac" are not formatted correctly in Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Time Machine has no chance of success unless the drive is first formatted correctly.
I would also ask that you consider leaving the drive connected to your Mac for Time Machine backups. That will be supported, and is a far more reliable way to keep backups if your data is important to you.
Next, we need to know what operating system you are running on your Mac. If you do not know, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen and then click About This Mac. Post back with the OS X Version number that you see there. -
Lost connection with Time Capsule (Office for Mac programmes run down)
My colleague and I work at the office with 2 Macbooks. Both are connected wirelessly to the Time Capsule, which we use as a shared hard disk. We use Office 2008 for Mac. Now Word and Excel run down often after of little things like doing a search or cutting and pasting. I get the spinning ball can only do a forced quit to end the program. This is frustrating and time consuming!
A friend told me to change my UID, cause my colleague and I both have the same UID (501) at our Macbooks. He downloaded Server Admin Tools to change my UID into 1001 with Work Group Manager. But when I arrived at the office this morning I didn't have a connection with the Time Capsule. To be able to work I changed the UID back to 501 again (but now I can't open excel document inless I drag them to the hard disk of my Macbook).

Can I just consolidate and copy to the journaled hard drive over the network? Will a pc recognize a Mac formatted hard drive? I have searchd the forum and online for hours and can't seem to find anything that specifically address this. Does anyone know the best solution?

Hi, I having some problems with halo for mac. I have a intel duel core mac with windows installed. I have been playing halo for some time now, but about 3 weeks ago I quit for a week. In this time I installed America's Army (the game developed by the US military) and also anti-virus for windows. When I started halo up again about 2 weeks ago, it wouldn't work! It would start for about 10 seconds, then "quit unexpectedly"! I know I'm not the only one who has had this problem, but I still need help!

Mac OS X (10.4.7)Hey, I downloaded the intel version. Everything went smoothly, except the new halo app doesn't recognize the game CD! I tried both CD's, the burn and the original, and it doesn't recognize either. Amazingly, though, the original halo app works now! (for now anyway, we'll see after i download the patches).
I have no idea what I did (I deleted some Divx stuff, which was mentioned in a thread with a similar problem), but it works now! Thank you for helping me, you guys, and if I have this problem again, I'll know where to get help! -
How to share an airport disc between PC and Mac
I am planning to buy a airport station and connect my existing USB hard disc for sharing the data wirelessly among my PC and Mac book.
My existing USB hard disc was partitioned into two parts to cater for different formats for PC and Mac book. One of the partition is used solely for Mac for backing up by time machine. The other is for sharing.

If one of the partitions is formatted for NTFS, the AirPort Base Station will NOT be able to read it or share it out to network clients. The AirPort works best with drives formatted for HPS+ and will share these drives out to Macs (using AFP) and PCs (using SMB).
One of the partition is used solely for Mac for backing up by time machine. The other is for sharing.
Unfortunately Apple does not support Time Machine backups to AirPort Disks (USB HDDs attached to the AirPort Extreme). ref: Time Machine doesn't back up to AirPort Disks -
Windows Media Player for MAc and other issues
I just bought a mac a week ago.
Decided to do the switch since the person at the store told me I could use the win XP interface. Anyway after installing the win xp, i realised my laptop doesnt not recognise the drivers.I got no sound, no airport. I am not too sure if the service pack is the issue. I am using service pack one.
Since I need to listen to some online lecture recordings and my xp doesnt have sound, i have to use it on MAC OS. But as the problem is the site kept telling me to install Internet explorer 5.5 and above and after install IE for MAc 5.1, it ask for Windows Media player. I installed flip4mac and media player for mac ..it still doesnt work...
I am truly sad to see the difficult in using a macbook and i kinda regretted getting it. It just getting on my nerves....

Yes the service pack is an issue if you're using Boot Camp to run XP. If you don't have SP2, you can try running Parallels Desktop (http://www.Parallels.com) which doesn't require SP2.

Some streaming media sites are not compatible with Mac OS X. Are these online lectures for school? I would simply ask the person running the class to help you get support. They can tell you pretty quickly if it's possible to listen with a Mac. If it's not, you should be able to do it from XP with either Parallels or Boot Camp (provided you have an SP2 version of XP).

There are times that using a Mac (with 5% market share) is frustrating because many websites don't follow standards properly. If the web designers blow it off and only support Windows, 95% of the users are still happy and don't complain. That's lazy and infuriating but it happens quite a lot. There's even a name for it: Mac Marginalization.
So you will run into this from time to time. The best solution on the Macbook is to get one of the Windows environments up and running properly. But you should still complain LOUDLY to the people who set up the bad website. The only way this will change is if users let lazy site administrators know that they are MAD about it.

Since last 15 days i have not done any work in my office as all time i am just involved in setting up one or another thing in my Macbook. i am really so much fed up and frustrated that i am thinking of switching back to Windows. i have some current issues like
Airport disconnects automatically anytime. after then i have to restart the system that is the only way. it shows as connected but i dont find my home network or internet. after restarting it works !!! it happens 4-5 times in a day...
Sync with blackberry is very slow. i do have Approx 2500 contacts / 300 tasks and 10-15 events. but it takes approx 10 times more time than i was doing with Windows.
in the blackberry desktop manager there is only one option of syncing i.e. Two way sync. what if i only want to transfer data from Macbook to Blackberry or from Blackberry to Macbook?
data sync is not perfect also. every time some entries goes missing.
i want to use ical for events and tasks.. but i dont find List view for events which is not convinient.
i have my e mails in Outlook 2011 for mac. what if i want to transfer my mail to mail for mac?
i will be obliged if anyone can help and show that my INR 70000.00 * 2 is not wasted... Frustrated Really...Good luck with that.
You're not going to like this answer, but you should let Exchange be your e-mail system. Move off Gmail to Exchange on-premises or Online.
