Airport/Airplay - Airplay works on iphone, not itunes?

Hi everyone
I've got a strange problem here. I have an old airport express (802.11g, 6.3) which is wired by ethernet to my livebox wireless router.
I can stream by airplay mp3s from my iphone in the ipod app with no problems at all!
but through iTunes on my laptop (xp, sp3), playing songs through airplay results in about 2 seconds of playback, then silence another few seconds of audio and this juttery playback continues!
Strange enough though I can use the shared library through the iPod app on my iPhone to stream the mp3s from iTunes, to my iPhone and then play them on the speakers with airplay with no playback issues at all!
It just seems odd that I can stream from my pc, to the iphone and then to the airport with no problems, but streaming from itunes to the airport is jitterey?!
Any ideas to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated. i've included all the information which may be useful
thanks
M
PC - xp sp3, itunes 10.5.0.142, airport 6.3 wired connection, iphone 4.3.3. windows running comodo firewall/ xp firewall

Also, once you have synced your rental to an iPod or iPhone, the file is removed your computer's hard drive.

  • Can't get Airplay to work. Do not see icon

    Hello,
I have updated FW on Airplay compatible receiver (Denon 2312), updated iPad 3 to ios6, opened the ports: TCP 443, TCP 5297 and UDP 5351 in NAT.
MAC address authentication is disabled, I have WPA2 (mixed) password on wi-fi.
Anyone has any tips on why it does not work? Did not work on ios5 either, just updated to 6 to see if it worked, but no..

If your router is a dual 2.4 and 5Ghz router then one device could be connected on 2.4 while the other is on 5.
You might want to get with your router manufacturer on how you see this, whether it is Bonjour compatible, and which setup on the router you need to use for the iDevice to see your receiver.

  • Podcasts showing in iphone not itunes

I have downloaded firmware 2.2 for the iphone which lets you download podcasts over the air directly to your iphone. The problem is that all of the podcasts i have downloaded over the air do not show up in itunes. Basically that means I cant delete them because they do show up in the iphone but not in itunes. How can i make the podcasts i downloaded show up in itunes so i can delete them? Thanks

    Hello
In the iPhone if you go to the Podcasts in the iPod area. Take your finger swipe it from left to right. It should bring up a delete button. So you can remove it off the iPhone.
As far as why is the Podcast not syncing over to iTunes. Please make sure you have the latest iTunes first. iTunes 8.0.2
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
*Also if you click on iPhone in iTunes, in the Summary screen if you have manually managed checked. You can delete the podcasts by click on the gray triangle beside your iPhones name under devices so it points down. Then click Podcasts, then you can delete what podcasts you want.
*Other wise click on iPhone - Podcasts in the tabbed menu bar - And make sure you have Sync Podcasts checked, And choose All, and then Sync. Or at least choose Selected Podcasts. During sync it will scan iPhone and pull podcasts into iTunes.
*You can also access this by going to File - Transfer Purchases From -

  • My airport extreme is working but will not connect to my mac pro

my airport extreme is working and all other devices connect except my mac pro computer,  How do I resolve this problem?

    Hi fdrussell,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  Were your Airport Extreme and Mac Pro communicating earlier?  If so, what changed?
First try shutting down the computer, and recycling the power to the Airport Extreme.  Then start the Mac Pro and see if that resolves the issue.
If needed, perform a Hard reset of the Airport Extreme:

  • Yosemite/iOS 8 - Airplay audio working from iPhone 6 but not from macbook

I have a 2012 macbook pro that I've just upgraded to Yosemite and a new iPhone 6. My airplay setup is a Pioneer VSX-1121 receiver that has built-in airplay. My iPhone can connect via airplay to the receiver and it works perfectly to play all my audio. My laptop however, cannot. When I use option-click to click on the speaker icon in the bar I even see the icon for my receiver there - but when I click on it nothing happens.
In the System Preferences I can't see it in the sound panel though...
Here is the output of Console when I attempt to connect to the speakers:

I don't have any logs of a successful attempt so I'm not sure what that looks like in Yosemite..any help appreciated.
For the record, I've tried a PRAM and SMC reset to no avail.

THis "fix" maybe for the missing AirPlay icon in iTunes. But it wouldn't hurt to try it for this issue. I had the missing icon, did this and it worked. I also re enabled the IPv6 and it continued to work.
    1) open control panel.
    2)Choose Network and internet
3)Select the VIEW NETWORK STATUS TASKS under NETWORK and SHARING CENTER section
    4) Choose the active network connection. It is usually name " wireless Network Connection 1" or something similiar.
    5) Click the properties button
    6) If the Internet PROTOCOL VERSION 6(TCP/IPv6) is checked, uncheck it, then click OK.
    7) Click CLOSE
    8) Restart iTunes and try to use the Home Sharing feature again.

  • Airplay won't work from iPhone or iTunes Solution!

I scoured the web for solutions after talking with Apple Support for more than 3 hours... and was not able to find a solution.
I finally (with help of Network Engineer) found a solution which I am posting here to help other poor folks.
It was not a question of the PORTS as Apple had suggested.
In my case, the Apple TV worked just fine on Netflix, YouTube, iTunes, and playing music and videos from the cloud.  What I could NOT do is "air play" from my iPhone 4S or from iTunes (computer).  My router was a Cisco router.
There are two settings that must be disabled in the router for Air Play to work:
"Wireless Isolation within SSID" (a security setting) must be disabled
"WMM for each SSID" (QoS setting) must be disabled
Once we disabled those two settings and rebooted router and Apple TV everything worked beautifully including mirroring!
None of the other steps we did before worked, which included updating firmware/sofftware and resetting Apple TV to factory settings.
So, for those out there having trouble, hope this helps and saves you HOURS of pain!

    Hi groovyb,
You may want to try simply resetting your iPhone to address this issue, then proceeding to attempt to delete the app as normal after the reset:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the issue persists, you may want to create a backup of your phone and then restore the software:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.

I'm abble to get Music, Video and Photo to be displayed on Apple TV but not apps.
    I'm using Iphone 4S with IOS 5.1.1.

    What's wrong then ?
    I've tried alreday:
    Update Apple TV software,
    reboot router
    reset iphone
    thank for any help.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    Restart your mobile device.

  • Photostream not working - two iphones, one itunes account, two icloud accounts

    Hello,
My wife and I both have iphones (both 4s). I have had mine for some time and she got hers last week.
We have one itunes account. We have two icloud accounts.
We cannot get shared photostreams to - my phone will not receive invites from hers. It works the other way round though.
All the settings are correct and switched on.
Please don't send me to the FAQ page as I have tried everything on there to no avail
    Thanks
    Matt

The quickest and easiest thing to do is take the desired iPhone and connect it to the desired iTunes account. This most likely will erase and data on the iPhone and replace it with the data from the itunes account it is connected to.

  • HT201335 Does airplay mirroring works on iphone 4 too?

    Need help
Does airplay works between apple tv and iphone 4 with 5.0.1 ????

    Welcome to the Apple community.
No, unfortunately you require the iPhone 4S for airplay mirroring.

  • TS1741 Airplay stopped working between iPhone 5 and Apple TV. Icon no longer appears cannot connect remote app anymore either?

    Anybody have ideas why.

Most likely because your phone or your Apple TV has lost WiFI connection to your local network.  Not enough info in your post for a more specific suggestion.

  • IPhone 3g sync problem... ipod works fine, iPhone not recognised.

    Hello,
I guess this may be a hardware problem but I could really do with some advice. I have an IPhone 3g which i sync to my Imac (using itunes 9.1.1). Every now and again i have had problems with itunes not recognising my phone but normally after a reboot (phone/imac) it would work fine. On one occasion the reboot didn't work and I I had to reinstall itunes.
Now i have the same problem but none of my previous fixes work... I cannot sync my iPhone at all. It doesn't charge from the USB (although it does from the mains) and doesn't show up as a device in iPhoto. Its just not there! I have tried syncing my old iPod which works fine - which makes me think its the phone is causing the problem. Everything else on the phone itself works fine.
    Any ideas, hints or tips...

Thanks for taking the time to respond.
I did this yesterday and had no joy... so i thought i would try it again before posting that I had done it and to my surprise this time it has worked.
Great that it is fixed but i guess going through this process shouldn't be a normal operation? Is there a fault with my iPhone or is it simply a bug in iTunes that needs a re-install to fix? I imagine it will happen again in a few weeks time so am hoping for a more permanent fix.
    Thanks again

  • Restoring backup doesn't work! Iphone 3GS, Itunes 9

I live in Holland, but I presently am in Japan. In Japan I made a backup of my Iphone. Afterward I tried to install some apps I downloaded through Itunes (while still being in Japan). When I tried to put the apps on my Phone I received the message stating it would delete apps that weren't on the computer yet. So I authorized this computer (using my login data) and started syncing, even though the message still appeared. As a result I now have only a few apps left. Most of them have been removed from my Iphone and strangely, none of the apps I downloaded here (in Japan) were put on the Iphone!?!?!
So I did a restore. Yet, strangely, I don't get my original apps back.
I even restored the original Backup folder from a couple of days ago, so everything should be there.
Does anybody have an idea what the problem is?

Iphone will sync apps with only one computer at a time. If you sync to another computer, then it will erase the current content from the iphone first, then replace with content from the new computer.
The itunes backup that iphone does while syncing doe not include apps:

  • IMac AirPort first user working, second user not and add MacAir user

I'm really struggling to get my Airport working properly i have two users on my iMac, only one is connected to the AirPort and therefore the Time Machine and also a MacAir that needs to be backed up on the Airport for first time and also synch Outlook for Mac archiving
    Be grateful of assistance.

    Hi Jeroen,
Unfortunately you have discovered a bug.  Some suggestions:
    1. You can delete the problem collection and re-create it.  Please note that you will
lose all data contained in the User Profile Disks, so if there is anything you need you should have each user log on and copy their data to some other safe location such as OneDrive, Dropbox, local client
drive, etc.  For example, your users may have saved files in their Documents or other folder under their profile folder (C:\Users\<username>) and these will be lost if you delete the collection.
    2. Open an
Azure Support ticket.  It may be possible for support to manually fix the issue you are having so that you do not need to recreate the collection.  You need to have at least the Developer plan to create a support ticket.
    3. Wait for someone from the RemoteApp team to read this thread and investigate the issue.
In the future, until this issue has been resolved, I would advise you to always remove a user account from the RemoteApp user access tab before removing the account from Azure AD.
    Thanks.
