Airport broken by latest update

Hi,
A few hours ago I installed the recent airport update pushed out by Apple.
Now my late 2008 Macbook Pro wont stay connected to my 1TB timecapsule and appears to "hang". Prior to the update everything was fine.
At first I suspected the timecapsule but other devices remain connected to it fine and testing after a backup failed showed that my iPhone could connect to the timecapsule and browse without any problem.
To further test the issue I connected the MBP to the timecapsule by an ethernet cable. Everything is fine again without restarting either the aiport utility or the timecapsule.
Leaving the timecapsule connected via ethernet my backups work fine. If I try and use wireless again however it times out after a few minutes.
As mentioned before there was no issue prior to the update. My Aiport utility shows version 5.4.1.
Is there a way to roll back this update?

My Mac Mini G4 stopped connecting to my Time Capsule after the most recent update.
How I wish I had not updated after all. I use my Mac Mini as a home theater system and buy movies and shows from iTunes. Guess I'll be using my cable's on demand for a while instead.
Details:
Mac Mini G4 1.5 ghz.
Leopard - latest update.
Two other Mac laptops haven no problems whatsoever:
Macbook Pro 2.4ghz
Macook (original white, slow)
The Macbook is in the room almost next to the Time Capsule. No issues.
The Macbook Pro is in the room above, no issues.
Signal strength is very strong.
The Mac Mini -- it has trouble connecting to the network.
It is in the room next to the Time Capsule. It is under the TV in a media cabinet.
Two external considerations may play a part: heat and bad grounding.
In the cabinet is a Wii and the digital cable receiver. Both get hot, as well as the Mac Mini and it's external hard drive.
Also, the downstairs has problems with electrical line noise, possibly due to poor grounding somewhere. I have been unable to fully isolate this issue, and the electricians who the landlord's management company have sent have seemed to not care (or just don't know what grounding is, but I'll give them that benefit of a doubt).
I am a bit concerned the feedback is slowly destroying my electronics, but I've been running that risk.
Both the Mac Mini and Time Capsule are on lines with this noise.
Still, I am not sure it is either. Time Capsule performs well with the two laptops.
The Mac Mini had no problems before the update.
I will try removing it from the cabinet and trying it that way later.
I have tried to change my Time Capsule settings, but to no avail. The only thing I have not done? Open it up, or change it to regular WPA. Going to do that after this post.
If I turn off the Mac Mini's airport then try and reconnect, Airport time's out.
Notice, it is reaching the time capsule, because if I enter the incorrect password I do get an incorrect password response.
After restarting the Mac Mini after being away for the day (and it being off), it immediately connected to the Time Capsule and Google loaded.
Immediately after Google loaded, the internet stopped working.
Traceroute could not find Google, and there was high latency at the first hop: (my Time Capsule router).
Pinging the Time Capsule resulted in a bizarre response: latency in the tune of 50000ms. This fluctuated from about 20000ms to 50000ms, then dropped to 6-12 ms, then back up to 20k to 50k again, then down to 1-10k, then to 6-12ms, then back up to 20k-50k, then 800-900k ms latency, then it stopped being able to resolve the host, then connection was lost.
Something is wrong with my wireless connection, and I can not sort out if it is the Time Capsule or the Mac Mini, or both.
Time Capsule appears to work for both laptops, but the Mac Mini ping results are interesting.
The only change made was the recent Mac Mini update. (Which, btw, the Macbook Pro at least has made as well, yet is still working.)
Will be logging off to try and change the wireless protection to open, and then WPA, to see if any changes result.
One last thing: I live in an area with about 60 or so townhomes in my immediate area, and a long list of other wireless hotspots (mostly secure). I also have a US Time Capsule that is being used in Great Britain. I don't know if this is contributing to the problems (locale does not have a GB option, WTG Apple!)

Lost my Airport Express with latest update

So I did the latest update (9.03) and lost my APE. Reset the device and added it back onto my network. Everything is green and good to go.......... except " An error occured while connecting to the remote speaker "XYZ". An unknown error occurred (-15000)." Anyone else having this issue?

Not that problem specifically but iTunes now says my iPod is no longer authorized on this computer and that there's a problem with my iPhone and it needs to be restored. Sounds like there may be authorization issues with products that connect to iTunes if I'm having this problem and you're having Airport issues.
Wondering if there's anyone else out there experiencing these problems?

Fix Imports broken after latest updates

Hi, Everything was working fine with creator until I installed the latest updates from update center a few hours ago. Now, whenever I use the Fix Imports feature it seems to remove all of the creator related imports. This happens on both existing projects and new projects. For example, I create a new project and added a button to it. The java file had these imports:

OK, after some trial and error I think I found a little more about the problem and a better solution. It looks like JSC caches all of the library information for quick access and somehow the file(s) that store the info for com.sun.rave.web.ui.component.* are getting messed up. Instead of deleting the whole 2.0 directory, which will reset all of your data sources and settings, you can just delete the .Creator\2.0\var\cache directory and creator will re-scan all of the libraries and rebuild the cache.

Airport problems after latest update password

Yesterday I did a software update and airport was one of the updates listed. After the update neither my desktop or laptop would connect to the airport network. I used the airport utility to re set up the airport base station and was able to get my laptop working on the wireless network. My desktop, however, will not connect to the airport anymore. It keeps telling me the password is incorrect (the password is correct, I am using it to log in on my laptop). I notice on my laptop the security is WPA2 and on the desktop I only have the option of WEP. The desktop is running OS 10.4. Any ideas?

I was having major problems too. I ended up completely uninstalling itunes then downloaded it again from http://www.apple.com/itunes/. If you're using firefox, for some reason itunes will not download and I don't know if using googlechrome will also have problems,so just to be sure that it will work on your first try, use internet explorer when you download itunes. Good LUCK!!

Airport broken on last update

On the last "security update" to OSX 10.3.9 my airport stopped working. When I try to connect nothing happens, and a process "SystemUIServer" is hung in the monitor.
I have tried resetting the connection point and changing the WEP password. I have no problem accessing the router with the wired connection as normal.
If I use "Assist me..." I can select the network, but it tells me the password is wrong, even though I can copy it straight of the router's WEP settings.
Wireless card firmware version is 404.2
The router is a Netgear DG834G, firmware version V1.05.00
Anyone have the same problem or have any idea what might be the problem?

Update:
It now connects, but drops out after a while. I changed nothing, the only discernable difference is that there are no other networks detected now (I live in an apartment and can frequently pick up several).
Maybe the re-authrntication with lots of interference was what did it.

Since latest update to airport extreme im getting 10 unknown base station and time capsule items showing in airport utility as a network. when able to "forget" them they initially drop off but soon return. how do i get them deleted and stay that way

I'm not convinced that the problem lies in Airport Utility. This same thing was happening to me, nearly exactly as you describe it. The thing is that with me, the problems clearly started when I updated the firmware in my Airport Express (n). That's when all the wacky stuff started happening. Sometimes it would show up in AU, sometimes it didn't and even if it didn't, I could still access the internet through it.
But as you said, the problems got really bad when another Express (b/g) was put on the network with it. Even when it did work, the (b/g) would make it impossibly slow.
You know more about this than me, and clearly have more patience if you've restarted the network fifty times. I gave up at about ten.
In any case, your solution is more of a work around and if you're still having that slow connection problem, I'm not sure you've got it. But thanks for your reporting of this. At least I know I'm not crazy.

Installed the latest update, now Airport Utility doesn't see Airport

I ran the latest update, now my Airport Utility claims to not see my Airport Extreme although I'm still on my network.? Any suggestions before I completely reset the AE to factory settings and start over.

I purchased a new Airport Extreme last week, I run a home network with a G5 desktop and a G4 Laptop running 10.4.10. It took me a while to set it up as I entered the wrong password for my ISP SBCGlobal. After I finally had it going I had a couple of occasions where Airport Utility did not see Airport but I still had the solid green light on Airport. I am not sure what I did that resolved the problem but I know I did a restart one time and my Airport showed up. I may have also reset my base station and re-entered my info but I no longer have the problem.

AirPort Express (first Generation) doesn't get recognized with latest Itunes. (everything has the latest updates). This is on WIndows 7. Just started today after getting latest Itunes Version.

I am sure this has been addressed, but I will ask again, and then start sifting through prior posts.
I have Windows 7, AirPort Express (First Generation), and the latest Itunes (11, I believe). All updates are current on the both the Itunes and AirPort Express. All of a sudden today, when wanting to play music off of Itunes (it does show that I have both outlets checked and in blue [my computer & airport]) after about a minute it displays a statement saying "The Network Connection Timed Out". And then finally plays on my computer. This just started today. It has always worked, and now, not sure what to do. I have unplugged and plugged back both the airport express and my router.
Any help would be so much appreciated. This is truly why I hesitate to get the newest version of Itunes. There always seems to be an issue. Anyway...HELP!

A bizarre update.
Decided to use the XP VM to handle the iPhone and it was downloading the latest update when it failed.
At that point Windows 7 iTunes popped up to say it had found an iPhone in recovery mode. I let it try a restore which also failed (VM couldn't complete the restore either).
Plugged the iPhone back in to my old PC to complete recovery and restore and then plugged it back in to the Windows 7 PC - which now can't see the iPhone!!
So it detected it when in recovery mode but not when it was functioning normally.
Are older versions of iTunes available to allow the backout of 10.4 which just seems so flaky on 64 bit Windows 7?

Click Manual Setup
Click directly on the word Version (3rd line)
If there are any updates, you will be notified.
If there are not any updates, you have already have the latest firmware.

Yosemite latest update has broken yahoo email from mail.app. Emails won't collect or send. Tried deleting the yahoo account, now I can't re-add it - "an unknown error has occurred"

Did the latest update to Yosemite last night. All day my mail has played up. Either it won't collect email from IMAP for long periods, or sent emails would just sit in outbox then send them periodically.
I've now tried deleting and re adding the account. But it won't re add correctly - I either get "an unknown error has occurred" when I try and add it as a "Yahoo" account, and if I try adding it as "other email account" it syncs up around 300 email messages and then won't work.
Please help, email is a vital cog in my day to day Mac use.

After latest update, screen sharing broken

Installed the iPhoto, Supplemental 10.7.3 update, and, iTUnes update on March 10. Since then, screen sharing to a headless Mac no longer works properly.
What happens is it runs, but, screens no longer update properly. For example, you can't scroll in Safari, UNLESS you resize the Safari window, it's really strange. Video doesn't play, it freezes, again, unless you resize the video player window.
This has happened on all 3 macs that were updated. All 3 are headless, no display attached. One is a OSX Server.
Anyone else with the latest updates screen sharing a headless Mac with this issue?

Yes, that will work for an iPod. I am not sure it will work with the iPhone, since they are a lot different. Someone with an iPhone could jump in here if they know, or ask in the iPhone forums?
That link you found has 2 methods, either get the 'hidden' files off the iPod using Windows, or use a 3rd-party ipod manager program.
The hidden files method is also explained in this Apple document. It is the same as getting your music onto a new PC using your iPod

That article does not say it applies to iPhone, only iPods. For the iPhone you might need something like CopyTrans.

UltraNav broken after latest Synaptics update

Yet another Lenovo update that breaks things - the latest update to the Synaptics driver on the W510 (which says that support for W520 was added). It causes the settings for the ultranav to be reset and breaks the control panel ultranav mouse settings - everytime they are accessed it saying that the driver neeeds to be reinstalled and no UltraNav tabs/settings are displayed.
Seriously guys, you should test your updates before releasing them. This is at least the third time I see an update cause regressions on my system. I think I will simply stop updating the system, because I don't trust any of those updates any more...
P.S: The workaround is to reinstall both the driver and the ultranav utility from the lenovo website (which BTW is the same version as in the update).

I've also had problems with this new update on my X100e, my ultranav icon has disappeared totally from the control panel and the system tray, I've tried reinstalling it but it's still not reappeared!

Office 2013 latest update broke new profile creation on all network computers

Setup details:
We're using samba 3 as our backend and all workstation are Windows 7 Pro x64.
Office 2013 Home and Business Retail (en-us) Click 2 Run version
Context:
Deployed to the whole network of one of our client using the Office Deployement Tool.
We update their base update (no updates) to the latest update 15.0.4569.1508
Everything was working alright after initial Office 2013 installation with no updates. After updating the all the PCs to the latest version as of 31/03/2014, the user profile creation broke for newly created user.
Symptoms and causes:
Trying to log on as a new user on the machine would give the following error on Logon before automatically loging off because it cannot copy the following file to the new user profile:
D:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\_00.sqm
D:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\_01.sqm
D:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Bici\_02.sqm
The Bici folder has Read and Execute permissions for everyone but the _XX.sqm files inside only have permissions (Full Control) for SYSTEM and Administrators and LOCAL SERVICE with the all permissions EXCEPT:
- FULL CONTROL
- TRAVERSE FOLDERS/EXECUTE FILES
- CHANGE PERMISSIONS
- TAKE OWNERSHIP
Solution:
I gave "everyone" Read and Execute permission on those files and the new user could log in and his profile got created alright.
The files with broken permissions time stamp shows they've been modified during the Office 2013 update and Bici seems to be a OneDrive related service. This bug should get fixed ASAP.
Event log error:
