Airport dont transmit the audio signal

My Airport express is connected in the network as a "slave", so it dont distribute ip addresses. In this mode it dont transmit the audio signal to my audio system.
If I change the configuratioin and it does distribute ip addresses, it also transmit the audio signal to  the aduio system.
Is there a solution for this bug?

Not sure what you mean by "slave." I assume that you mean that you configured the AirPort Express Base Station (AX) to join an existing wireless network as a wireless client ... correct?
If that is so, then streaming from iTunes would first travel to the other wireless router, and then, to the AX before it goes to the audio system.

How many airport express can I add to my network for the purpose of using the airport express to send audio signal to different rooms in the house? I'm interested I'm running about six different zones.
What I'm looking to do is to have self powered in ceiling speakers in every room in my house with out having to run wires to every room to carry the audio signal. I would like to use the airport express to do the job of carting the audio signal.
Here's my set up now I have an airport extreme and one airport express that I use to carry audio to one room.

FWIW. I have used up to four AirPort Express Base Stations (AX) for streaming sucessfully in pretty much the way you have described. I didn't have a need to try more so I can't attest that more would or would not work.

  • If I want to transmit the audio infomation use my own format, how can I do?

In order to transmit the sound for secret, I want to change the default format by encrypting it.
    Is it viable?
If it is viable, where can i find the correlative data?

Seems like there are two directions you could go in. First, you could extend the Processor class to add support for transcoding a new audio format, and then you'd be able to encode/decode it the same way normal audio works. Good luck figuring out how to do that, and good luck find any sort of helpful documentation.
The second idea, which is going to be more documented, is to developed a custom RTP payload. You could then use any audio format, and just encrypt the actual packetized data with whatever data encrpytion scheme you wanted. Most hosts would simply reject the RTP payload if they intercepted the stream, and even if they did receive it, they would have to be able to decrypt it before they could play it.
For more information about creating your own RTP payload type, take a look at:

  • Keep the audio signal digital between two Macs?

I have a MacBook (2GHz, 2GB RAM) running Logic Pro 8 and an iMac G5 (2GHz, 2GB RAM) that I use for Guitar Rig. I have an MBox 2 Pro connected to the MacBook. My current solution is to use the audio outputs of the iMac as inputs to the MBox 2 Pro, introducing another stage of D/A -> A/D conversion. The iMac has optical outputs and the MBox 2 Pro has has S/PDIF connectors; is there a way to keep the signal from the iMac to the MacBook completely digital, preferably without buying another audio interface?

    Hi Axel,
I just bought the CO2 as well... it does work well. Although I have been having some other issues not related to the CO2 but more the iMac and its digital ins and outs. I posted this in another:
I'm having a similar problem / issue with the digital outs...
I'm sending a digital signal via a mini-TOSlink adaptor to my MOTU 828mkII ADAT IN... first problem is that unless I set the MOTU's clock to ADAT IN... (and not use it's only internal clock) then I get digital noise when I playback anything on my iMac... since there is no way to set the iMac clock in Audio Midi Setup to External... it's greyed out.
The larger issue is that playback works fine as long as the Audio driver is being used... i.e. iTunes playiing something back. When I stop any audio playback... about 30 seconds later, the MOTU sync light starts flashing as it's NOT receiving a sync signal from the iMac anylonger. Then if I start playback again it takes about 2-3 seconds for the playback to sound. Totally unacceptable...
I noticed a few things... first off... I also send a signal from my MOTU BACK to my iMac through the iMac's digital IN. With the Digital Output on the iMac, plugging in the TOSLINK cable will automatically change the OUTPUT in Audio Midi Setup to Digital Out... when plugging in the 2nd cable to Digital In, Audio Midi Setup DOES NOT change to Digital In unless you start audio playback, and that's where the 2-3 seconds lag comes in. When you actually hear the playback, if Audio Midi Setup is open... you can see the INPUT switch from Line In to Digital In... and if you stop playback, you can see the Digital In go BACK to Line In about 30 secs later... which should NOT be happening... although technically the Digital in should have NO effect on the Digital Out here anyway... and in truth it doesn't... taking the Digital In out of the equation totally - I still see the same issues... just find it interesting that this is happening.
I was wondering if you had noticed anything similar. Could you try to replicate my issue?
Any help would be appreciated... I'm wondering if the iMac's sound card is bad. Thanks so much

  • Airport Express and the audio output.

I bought an Airport Express sometime last year, when it first came out. I don't have any of the packaging or the manual with me. What I would like to know is if Airport Express had support for both analog and optical audio output right from the start (when it was first released).
    Thanks.

Since its release over a year ago, there has only ever been one hardware version of the Airport Express. Therefore - yes - a combo analog/optical digital output has been built into the Airport Express right from the start.
You can download PDF versions of all the manuals at:

  • Does a second airport express extend the wireless signal from the first?

After a long search on his forum and not finding an answer, this is my question:
I have a Time Capsule connected to a Speedtouch router/modem. The Time Capsule has its own network. Because of the distances in my house, I use an Airport Express to extend the wireless range for my MBP. This doesn't seem to be enough to cover the whole distance (app. 35 meter) there is poor or no connection. So, my question is: can I use a second AE to extend the range even further? Will it pick up the signal from the first AE or do all the AE's in use need to connect with the Time Capsule?
The first AE is app. 12 meter from the TC.
    many thanks,
    Inge

    Welcome to the discussions!
The answer is yes and no.
No, if you are using the "extend a wireless network" feature because each AirPort Express communicates directly to the Time Capsule, not to another AirPort Express. It's like the hub and spokes on a wheel. The Time Capsule is the hub and the Express devices are at the ends of the spokes. The devices at the ends of the spokes communicate directly to the hub, not to another spoke.
Yes, if you are using the "WDS" feature because this type of setup allows a "main", "relay", and "remote" device to be configured. But, there is a big penalty with this type of system:
o The network will operate at "g" wireless speeds only
o The bandwidth on the network will drop 50% for each "relay" or "remote" device. So, with two devices, the first cuts half of the bandwidth. The second devices cuts half again. So, you are down to only 25% of the original bandwidth.

  • Transmit audio signal using Bluetooth

    Hi LV folks.
I am trying to find a way to connect to a Bluetooth module and then send a audio signal, which comes from an external device, to this module.
After searching I found this instrument:
    http://www.anritsu.com/en-gb/products-solutions/products/mt8855a.aspx
According to the documentation it has the ability to connect to a Bluetooth device and then transmit an audio signal from an external source to the Bluetooth device.
But it is pretty expensive and I don't need all of it's functions, so I was wondering if anyone has an idea for a cheaper alternative?
Is it possible to receive the signal on a PC-soundcard and then via LV transmit the audio through a Bluetooth connection?
    Thanks for listening
    Stephan

Well, LV does have the low-level functions for interacting with a Bluetooth interface. The question is how complex the protoicol would be to make it able to communicate with a speaker or headset.
For what it's worth, I have used a cheapo BT interface to talk to a Wii mote from LV.

  • HT201338 Does thunderbolt support the HDMI audio signal?

I often do presentation that include audio.  None of the Thunderbolt to HDMI cables carry the audio signal.  I typically end up using my Apple TV  or an external speaker via the audio out.  Does Thunderbolt support audio?  I find no documentation on this.

Yes it does if your TB to HDMI adapter supports it and the cable.
If you are having problems getting it to work go into the Sound applet of System Preferences and make sure the Output is to HDMI.

  • How to make my computer send all the audio through optical audio cable instead of headphone jack?

    Howdy,
To listen to online radios or CD's played from my computer, I used to connect the computer to my home entertainment system from the computer's headphone jack to the AUX port on my home entertainment system.
I now wanted to get better sound and purchased the optical audio cable. However, I don't know how to tell my computer to send the audio signal to the home entertainmeny system through the optical digital cable rather than through the headphone jack. If I just unplug the cable connecting the headphone jack and the AUX port and only have the PC and the system connected with the optical audio cable, I don't hear any sounds. I suspect the computer isn't sending any data through the optical audio port. I'm not able to find how I can adjust the settings on my computer so that from now all sounds are output through the optical audio.
    1) I'd like to do that mainly for my HP desktop (configuration below) and any advice on how to do that would be appreciated.

    Hello @_goma,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I have read your post on how you are looking to make your computer send all the audio through an optical audio cable instead of the headphone jack, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
To configure your desktop to enable the optical audio cable, I recommend following the steps below:
Step 1. Click the Windows Key Button on your desktop
    Step 2. Type "Control Panel"
Step 3. Select "Control Panel" in the top right-hand corner
    Step 4. Select Sound
Step 5. Under the Playback tab, right-click the white area below the devices available
Step 6. Select "Show Disabled" and "Show Disconnected Devices"
Step 7. Connect your Optical Audio Cable
Step 8. Select your Optical Audio Cable as the default device and click "Enable"
Since it is not possible to convert the HDMI out to audio out on your notebook computer, it is unfortunate that the notebook is not able to connect with an optical audio cord.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

  • How can I connect my Apple TV and Airport Express to the rest of the network for the least lag?

    Hey guys,
I have an Airport network here in the office.  All new Airport Extremes.  The internet comes into one, which then connects to our switches, which then connects to other Airport Extremes over ethernet.  Everything is setup to create its own network with the same SSID, and only the leader is the DHCP server.
I recently added an Apple TV to the network, only it was too laggy for video chat.  I bought an Airport Express (for the audio), and ran ethernet to connect it to the network and the Apple TV, but things were still slow.
Now, I set the Airport Express up as a DHCP server (with NAT) itself, with a separate SSID, and it's working great.  The only problem is that people would rather not have to switch wifi networks.  Is there any way around this?  BTW, the AirEx is complaining about Double NAT, which I understand is happening, but it's still working fine... it's really just the having to switch networks that's a problem for us.
    Thanks!

Hi - as you probably know, double NAT is not recommended - you might have problems with some websites and updating - but if it is working that is great - as far as the Wi-Fi issue is concerned, you should still be able to create a wireless network with the same name an password as the rest of your network so no one has to switch.

  • Audio stereo signal split into 3 or 4 stereo audio signals (in one single clip)?

    Hi,
facing massice transcoding issues when exporting a project I had to analyse the involved video/audioclips...
and found out that for some of the video clips the audio signals have been split into even 3 or 4 complementary stereo channels.
Note: Each channel contains just a part of the original signal. This is obviously due to cutting action ...
What can I do? I have no clue!
    My question:
How to get one single stereo audio signal (2 channels) out of this mess?
    Thanx big time,
    Oliver

Assuming we're talking about shorter takes and not a longer, spanned clip, I don't think what you want can be done in PP.  Nesting will always bring the audio over as one track.
You may have to skim the clip sequence in the Program Monitor and copy/paste the portions you want to use into a second sequence for output.  This will preserve the audio.

    Dear kelven,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments.
To address your question, there are Analog Input shipping examples that demonstrate how to measure an analog input differentially, as you specify in (2).
As for measuring the audio signal frequency, you may want to check out the following KnowledgeBase. The link is:

  • Apple TV 3 audio signal goes off after each song?

My Sony receiver has to reaquire the audio signal from the ATV 3 at the beginning of each song when streaming songs from the Mac. This causes a fraction of the beginning of each song to be missing. Very irritating. There is a clicking noise at the end of each song as the receiver loses the audio signal at the end of each song. Is there a way to work around this?

  • Transfer audio signal to LINE-OUT connector

    Hi all,
Is there any way to transfer the audio signal which is generated by means of a Built-in speaker on the motherboard to the
    Line-Out connector?
Baiscally, i want to acquire the voltage signal and view it on the oscilloscope. But the problem is that
the signal is not on the " LINE-OUT Connector ", it is on the buit-in speaker on the motherboard.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hello,
Are you using LabVIEW or other National Instruments products to acquire or analyze this signal or are you simply wanting to pass the sounds generated from the on-board speaker to the line-out connector?
