Does the game has the same iOS requirements that your phone has? Games needing iOS7 will not install on iOS6 and earlier.
Did you try to download it to your computer and sync it to your phone after that?

  • Apple AirPort Express - Streaming Music on iTunes - Frequent Music Drop out

*Apple AirPort Express - Streaming Music on iTunes - Frequent Music Drop outs*
I have just purchased an Apple AirPort Express for the sole use of streaming music from my laptop to my home cinema system.
My system has bundles of power (Core 2 Duo, 3gb RAM, 320gb hard disk, Intel-N WiFi) and is running Windows Vista Premium. I am using the latest version of iTunes (version 8) and have it setup to play through remote speakers. I have my AirPort Express connected to my home cinema system.
When I play music on iTunes through ONLY my computer speakers I have no problem with drop outs.
However, when I play music through either (1) my AirPort Express or (2) multiple speakers (i.e. the AirPort Express and my computer speakers together) I experience frequent and unbelievably annoying drop outs in the music stream.
I have determined this has nothing to do with interference with the wireless signal and believe this is something to do with iTunes - the reason being the drop outs occur in BOTH the computer speakers AND the AirPort Express speakers (when I select multiple speakers) but does not occur when I select ONLY the computer speakers.
Please could you provide some advice on this as I am unable to use the AirPort!
    Many thanks
    Elliot

You don't say which Airport Express you are using and what its settings are.
There are two Airport Express models. The original model works on 802.11b/g on 2.4 GHz. The later model can do 802.11n on 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz. My experience is that interference when using the 2.4 GHz band creates drop-outs when sending audio from iTunes to an Airport Express. I now have an 802.11n network on 5.0 GHz and no longer have drop-outs. I also have a 2.4 GHz 802.11g network for my iPhone and other devices that can't do 802.11n. They are connected to each other by ethernet.
Interference on 2.4 GHz occurs because a lot of people nearby have wireless networks too. You may not notice the interference when doing other network activity that is not time dependant but it shows when streaming music. Using a utility like iStumbler or AirRadar I can see I am the only one using the 5.0 GHz band in range of my computer.

  • Love airport express for music throughout the house but it goes dead from time to time

Airport Express for music just goes dead
is there a quick fix to this

You don't really want 2 wireless networks. After you get the Linksys set up, you will want to configure the AirPort Express (AX) to join the wireless network created by the Linksys base station. You will then have one wireless network that provides Internet and wireless music streaming.
Use the directions in KB 302153, AirPort Express: How to join an existing wireless network in client mode to configure the AX.

  • Airport express only music streaming

    Good morning,
I just want to you use airport express for streaming music conneting a receiver and my mac pro book.
I don´t wanna go into the internet.
    What to do?
I´m using a fritzbox 3270 for internet, phone, etc.
    Thanks in advance.
    Michael

You basically have two choices and they are dependent on whether or not you want to "switch" wireless networks between accessing the Internet and streaming.
The AirPort Express can be used standalone, meaning that you do not need to connect it to a network or the Internet in order for it to provide a Wi-Fi network for streaming. However, if you do so, you will (again) have to switch which wireless network you will connect to in order to do so.
If this works for you, then I can provide the set up instructions.

  • Airport Express: Can music be Streamed to AE with WEP ?

    Hi:
I have been trying to get iTunes to stream music from my HP laptop to AE
when my network is password-protected via WEP-64. Well, can this even be done
using the latest version of Apple's AE ? According to P. 26 of the Airport Express Setup Guide, under the section "*Allowing Wirless Clients Access to Your Network*", it states "+If your network is password-protected using WPA Personal or WPA/WPA2 Personal, you can provide wireless clients access to your network without them to enter the network password+." It then goes on to talk about providing clients access via setting up an Access Control List (ACL) in Airport Utility.
So, the question is...drum roll please...
Can iTunes stream music from my HP laptop to AE, wirelessly ,
when my network is password-protected via WEP-64 ?
I know it can do it via a wired (Ethernet cable) connection...
    I am currently doing it.
    Thanx

    Hi:
    I have the latest AE ... 802.11 n
Does anyone know if Apple has maybe changed the AE software/firmware/hardware where the AE may not work WEP-64 ?

  • New version airport express and music drop-outs

Does the new version of Airport Express (802.11n) solve the problem of AirTunes audio stream drop-outs? My existing Express suffered so badly, I stopped using it!

Can report back that the new Express is fantastic. No more dropouts. Gand set it to work on N only and it is great having the same music in the kitchen as in the living room. have now sold my 2 old units. Next purchase Timecapsule.

  • Airport Express Frequent Music Drop-out

Looks like this is a standard, mostly unfixable feature with this. Great.
Anyway - laptop inside on wireless, hooked via AUX to stereo receiver, sending to AE outside hooked to other receiver.
Music plays, but drops out (volume down) frequently. We have cordless phones, no base stations that near. Microwave wasn't on.
    Any ideas for troubleshooting?

Ok, thanks for clarifying your current network configuration for me. What is important is to understand the path the audio stream must take to get to the AirPort Express.
Basically, it will be: Laptop >>> AirPort Extreme >>> AirPort Express > Audio Receiver, where ">>>" represents a wireless connection, and ">" represents a wired one.
For the wireless connections, distance, other (non-audio streaming) network traffic, & Wi-Fi interference (cordless phones, walls, other Wi-Fis broadcasting nearby, etc.) will play a toll on the overall bandwidth available left for streaming.
I would suspect the bandwidth will be the least between the two AirPorts. One simple test would be to calculate the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) at the location of the Express. SNR (in dB) = Signal (in dBm) - Noise (in dBm). You will want SNR to be 25+ dB. You will want to take the measurements with the Express powered-off so that you will be calculating the SNR for the Extreme only at this location.
You can easily obtain the Signal & Noise values (if your laptop is a Mac) from System Profiler.
Click the Apple icon in the menubar
    About This Mac
    More Info ...
    Contents > Network > AirPort > Interfaces > en1 > Current Network Information > Choose your Wi-Fi network > Signal / Noise
While your here, note the following values as well:
    PHY Mode
    Security
    Transmit Rate
    Please post back your results.

  • Using Airport Express and music sounds distorted.....

I just hooked up my airport express to my whole house stereo and the music sounds distorted.  I've adjusted the volume on the amplifier, the room volume control and the computer volume control.....and it still sounds distorted.  Any ideas on what I can do?

Temporarily, plug a pair of headphones into the AirPort Express and check the sound quality. It is OK, you know that everything is working through the AirPort Express.
Often the audio plug will make poor contact with the audio jack on the Express which can cause a hum or intermiitent audio signal. Wiggle the plug around to see if this might be the case. You may need to try another audio cable.
Make sure that you are not plugging into a PHONO input on the amplifier. You would want to use AUX or CD or even TAPE would work if you have an older amplifier/receiver.

  • Airport Express for music streaming, but not Internet?

I currently connect my PowerMac G5 to the Internet via a direct connection. How do I setup the A/E to stream music from my PowerMac G5 (Airport equipped), without disrupting the existing Ethernet connection?

If you want your G5 to be on the Internet AND stream music at the same time, the AirPort Express (AX) must be connected to your Internet source. The G5 can not use the Ethernet connection for Internet and the AirPort connection for streaming music at the same time.
If you have a wired router but do not have a wireless router, you could connect both the G5 and AX to the wired router.
If you do not have a router of any kind (other than the AX), you could connect AX to the ISP connection and then have the G5 wirelessly connect to the AX.
OR you could connect a wireless router to the ISP connection and then have the G5 and AX wirelessly connect to the router. Alternatively the G5 could be connected to the wireless router via Ethernet.

  • Time capsule and Airport Express for music and internet

Hello! I have a time capsule and an airport express. I use the time capsule for back up, extra space (music) and internet connection. Then I use the airport express to play my music wirelessly (it is attached to my speakers via an amp). This set-up used to work fine but not any more... I can play music via the
Airport Express but then I won't have internet, or I have an internet connection via my Time Capsule but then the Airport Express has to be removed. It seems like the Airport Express overrules the Time Capsule when it comes to internet connection, and obviously (as there is no ethernet cable connected to it) that doesn't work. But somehow I can't select the Time Capsule network any more.  What am I doing wrong, what happened? I have spent hours searching the internet to find the solution but so far no good. Please help! Thanking you very much!

just leave the TC on it is designed for that.

  • New AppleTV or Airport Express for music streaming to Receiver

    Hello,
I am wondering if it would be better to get a new AppleTV for streaming music to my AV Receiver than my my trusty Airport Express (n). I have always used ethernet cable to link the AExp to the computer and an optical cable for the audio link to the Onkyo 875 AV Receiver.
I was recommending the AExp to a friend yesterday and had say "Hold On!" as I was not sure if the AExp was the best choice anymore, given that the new ATV costs the same price and does video too via HDMI. My main interest is audio, but video is a welcome bonus. All my music is in Apple Lossless format.
Appreciate some feedback to help decide on the best solution.
    Regards, Jim.

I don't think the audio quality can be worse (esp. from Apple Lossless), perhaps only better if you are running a HDMI cable from the ATV to the AV Receivers input port (I hope this is the case! Anyone know for sure?). The receiver should have a good DAC, but I believe the ATV (and AE) would use it's own DAC.
I must say the AE has been a wonderful device and people are still amazed after all these years that ALL my music that resides on the computer can be played wirelessly (wired in my case with a 20m long ethernet cable) from our HiFi speakers.
Trust me, the DAC on the AE is nowhere near the quality of CD. All of my Apple Lossless was getting converted with the AE DAC and going to my analog receiver. It sounded tinny, all the mid-range and upper range seemed to be compressed or something, and there was no bass response. Seriously, with a mediocre analog receiver and some affordable but good speakers, you can get incredible sound from a CD. But the AE sounded horrible compared to that. That's why I got rid of the analog receiver and bought a receiver with a DAC. However... the quality hasn't even improved that much, even with using the toslink and comparing to simple 1/8" jack to RCA. I'm pretty disappointed.
This is why I want to know if the AppleTV is literally going to have a better DAC than the AE. That's the only way I can see it sounding better. Either that or getting a separate DAC (because I can't afford a nice digital receiver, they're just too expensive).

  • Mountain Lion - Using multiple Airport Express for music

I've been using Airfoil to play non-iTunes audio to the three Airport Express units in my house, but the audio quality is lacking. I was happy to see that Mountain Lion (I am using 10.8.4 on my Macbook Pro) will stream non-iTunes audio to AE units, but only one at a time.
Does anyone know how to get Mountain Lion to stearm audio to multiple AE units in sync?
I see there is an app called "Airwaves" designed to do this, but users have very mixed experiences. Is there perhaps a better app out there?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry - I led you astray unnecessary in my last posted message. The reference I provided was for setting up a remote base station. That is not applicable to your situation, so please ignore.
In your case, you want to use the Airport Utility to configure each Airport Express so that it "join" (and not "extends") your existing wireless network.
What I suggest you do is:
    1. get each Airport Express into a known default state by doing a factory default reset per these instructions. Hold down the reset button for 10-15 seconds, until you see four green flashes in rapid succession
    2. put all Airport Express devices, and the wireless Mac you are using to configure the Airport Expresses, into the same room as the wireless router you are using
    3. configure one Airport Express at a time, and as I said above use the Airport Utility to configure each Airport Express to "join" the existing wireless network - ie select your Airport Express device as shown in the Airport Utility, click the "Continue" button (not the Manual setup button), and follow the instructions. The name of the wireless network you are joining is the same as the name of the wireless network your existing wireless router is creating. Make sure you also specify the same security protocol (WEP/WPA) and wireless network password as your Mac requires to connect to your existing wireless network.

  • Can the Airport Express play music if it is connected to the network by wire only and not by wifi?

    Hi,
I would like to add an Airport Express to the second floor and the wifi range is not strong enough from my wifi router located in the ground floor.
However I have ethernet plugs in all rooms connected by wire to the router. So I was thinking to plug the Airport Express via wire to my ethernet plug.
The goal is to have this Airport Express listed with all the others located in the ground floor that are connected wirelessly in my Airplay speakers.
    Thanks

Yes - Airplay will work whether the Express is wired or wireless - wired is the most reliable way to go - note however that if you wire the Express, you would use the "create a wireless network" option and use the same name and password as your main network

  • Fuzzy music from Airport Express

My Airport Express streams music from itunes to my sony home theatre but the music quality is terrible. The music is distorted and I can't for the life of me figure out how to fix that. Any suggestions? Is it maybe a network tweak? My router/modem is a Motorola surfboard if that makes a difference, but let's stray from suggesting buying a apple router.

I suggest that you first try connecting a pair of stereo headphones to the AirPort Express Base Station's (AX) audio port and see if the distortion continues. Assuming that it does, it is very possible that you may have some form of Wi-Fi interference in the immediate area that is preventing your AX from getting a good clean signal from the audio source.
I suggest you perform a simple site survey, using utilities like MacStumbler or iStumbler to determine potential areas of interference, and then, try to either eliminate or significantly reduce them where possible.
