Airport extreme, audio won't work on windows 7 boot camp for my macbook pro osx lion

Bought my Macbookpro in late 2011 and osx lion, decided to put boot camp on it, but it won't find my airport exrteme or even if i connect the ethernet cord directly into the laptop it still wont conectto the internet, and my audio also doesn't work, even when i plug in headphones, any suggestions?

Sorry for the late reply, I've searched as much as I could all having similar issues but not quite being the same issue. I've tried manually putting in my airport extreme information, search for other connections, start a new connection, all have not worked. I did everything normally to setup windows except put in the authentication code which i have misplaced.
I might've already added the drivers but im not too sure, how would you add the driver, just in case i missed that part

Can you help me to share link to download Window 7 x64 drivers Macbook Pro OSX Lion 10.7.3

You would only damage the recovery partition if you repartitioned the drive.  Simply erasing the volume is fine.  (The drive and volume are often used interchangeably, but they're not.  The drive is the physical device, encompassing everything on it, including all partitions.  Each partition on the drive is a separate "volume."  So the Macintosh HD on an out-of-the-box Mac is not actually the drive, it's a volume that takes up most of the drive.)
So, just erase with Disk Utility, then reinstall the system and as soon as the setup assistant starts, just quit that program and shut down the machine.  When your brother turns it on, it will be as if he were turning it on for the first time.
Note that if you have any sensitive data, you may want to do a secure erase in Disk Utility instead of a normal erase.  You may not need to keep your data safe from your brother, but you should consider what might happen if the machine were stolen from him, for example.

If GTA IV believes the system is under specification even though the computer is powerful enough to run the game with higher settings, the following will fix this problem.
This will work if your problem looks like this: "resource usage 230/60" and you can't change any other setting
    Just follow the steps:
    Step 1: Create a text file named ‘commandline.txt’ (without the " ")
Step 2: Put the following statement inside it:
    i5 users: -availablevidmem 18.0 (with the -)
    i7 users: -availablevidmem 22.0 (with the -)
Step 3: Open the main GTAIV folder (C/ program files (86)/ rockstar games/ GTA IV) and copy the commandline.txt file into it.
Step 4: locate the file "GTAIV.exe" (in GTA main folder)
Right click the file and select Properties
Under the shortcut tab, you will see an area that says Target
Modify the Target adding the command line after the last quotation mark (just add the statement you added in commandline.txt)
    (remember, i5 users: -availablevidmem 18.0 / i7 users: -availablevidmem 22.0)
It should look something like this:
Make sure to add space between " and -"
I hope This helps, although late cx

Maybe because it's not a 'genuine' retail version? Many OEM versions just don't work - and I've no idea which flavor of Win7 your friend downloaded. Obviously one that Boot Camp doesn't recognize. Best to just pony up the cash for a full retail version, of some flavor - and use it. You COULD, of course, download the 14-day trial version of Parallels Desktop and see if you can install Win7 as a virtual machine... it might or might not work. Boot Camp just isn't finding the resources it needs on the copy you have - try Parallels and if that doesn't work just purchase a retail (or student discounted) version.

  • How can I play music on my macbook pro (OSX Lion) through a Pioneer receiver. I've connected them with a mini display port to HDMI cable with audio support bought at the Apple Store, but there's no sound coming through. thanks

How can I play music on my macbook pro (OSX Lion) through a Pioneer receiver? I've connected them with a mini display port to HDMI cable with audio support bought at the Apple Store, but there's no sound coming through. There are 4 HDMI-in ports on the receiver - BD, DVD, DVR/BDR and audio. In my system preferences for sound, the receiver doesn't show up as an output option. Can anyone please advise. (ps, this is my first time posting a question, so I hope I can find your answers!) thanks, JP downunder

For sound, try the audio output port and connecting to the RCA  audio input ports on your Pioneer receiver.  Use something like this:

  • 27" iMac (refurb, June 2011) not working as an external display for my MacBook Pro.

I just got a 27" iMac (refurb, June 2011) and it's not working as an external display for my MacBook Pro (not Thunderbolt).  Any idea why?  Command+F2 does nothing.  I am connecting via Belkin Minidisplay Port-to-Minidisplay Port adapter.
    Any help is appreciated...thanks!

Currently the ThunderBolt iMacs can only be used as an external display by other ThunderBolt Macs.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Thunderbolt/10.6/en/30822.html
Apple is very clear about that.
2009 and 2010 27" iMac with a Mini DisplayPort can be used by other Macs with a MDP-to-MDP cable.

  • Will genius bar install windows (boot camp) for me?

will genius bar install windows (boot camp) for me? if so, costs?

Ask them. We don't know what your local Apple Store will do for you. It will certainly cost you their hourly charge for however many hours are involved. You may have to purchase Win8 from them but if not you must have a copy of your own.
Or you can take the time to read the Boot Camp documentation and do it yourself. Start here: Apple - Support - Boot Camp. Open Boot Camp Assistant then click on the large button on the left to print the documentation. Then read it very carefully.

  • Possible Workaround - AirPort Extreme Disk Utility not working in Windows

    1) The only way I have managed to get Windows (in my case Vista) working with AE Disk Utility is to set it up using the "Assist Me" or "Manual Setup" with the Airport Utility with no special settings used to configure it.
    2) Update the Station & let it restart.
    3) On your Windows PC - Simply temporarily DISABLE your firewall until the next step is successfully completed. (I am using Norton 360).
    4) Use the Airport Disk Utility to log on as either a Guest or User. (You should see the drive appear under Windows Explorer & see ALL the files it contains)
    5) Re-enable the Firewall you have.
    6) This works for me everytime & I am able to stay connected to my USB drive for as long as I want or I wish to disconnect it.
    7) Repeat the above everytime you want to re-connect the drive to the Airport Extreme.
I am able to connect successfully using my MAC Mini & my Dell Laptop at the same time without conflict.
I know this is not an elegant solution, but until Apple get sort this out, it is failry easy to try.
I hope it works for you !
    Enjoy :))

Well I fixed this. Get the AirPortBaseStationUpdate2007001.dmg update. I had installed this, but it didn't put in a few items that it should have. Mainly a little application in Core Servies. I used Pacifist to install the Airport Disk Utility again, and then restarted. I no longer got a beep when opening AD Utility, but I had to uncheck "Automatically discover disks" then turn off file sharing on the router, wait for it to restart, then turn file sharing back on, and then open AD Utility after restart and click Auto Discover. It then saw my disks. I also changed the name of the Windows Workgroup, I don't know if that had something to do with it. Good luck!

  • Airport Extreme internal card doesnot work in Windows

I recently got an airport extreme card installed in my Mac Pro tower so that i could connect to the wireless network in my home. I am running a Linksys wireless G router in the basement that has the cable modem connected to it. When i am running my mac in OSX i can connect fine, but when i use bootcamp to boot into windows XP i cannot connect to the network. I have installed the broadcom drivers from the leopard disc and i get the wireless icon in the windows system tray but it says it is not connected. When i open it up to see all the available wireless networks it says that windows cannot find any. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Bump. Does anyone have any idea of what i can do to get wireless working on my windows partition?

  • [linux] X-fi extreme audio won't work.

    Hi,
I have already installed my sound card (creative X-FI extreme audio) but it doesn't work.
When I open my console and give the command lspci I get the following output:
02:00.0 PCI bridge: Creative Labs Device 7006
03:00.0 Audio device: Creative Labs [SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio] CA00-IBG
So the sound card is detected, but when I play music I've no output. I've already installed alsa again with the synaptic package manager, but it doesn't matter. Who can help me and tell me what I'm doing wrong.
    greetz, henk

I don't have this card but was looking around if it would be supported under Linux ...
According to wikipedia (sorry, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_B...system_support) this card can have similar drivers as the Audigy SE? Otherwise, you may find some help at the http://www.rosegardenmusic.com/wiki/...audio_to_work; with the instructions at the rosegarden site I managed to get another sound card working under debian linux (using jackd, timidity, a sound font).

  • M-Audio ProFire audio interfaice not seen by Windows/Boot Camp

It seems Windows XP SP2 under Boot Camp, running on a Mac Pro dual-quad Nahalem 2.66 has a problem with connecting to Firewire devices. It won't even boot up with Firewire 800 drives connected, and I understand from reading posts in other threads that this is a common problem.
The problem I'm looking to get resolved has to do with my M-Audio ProFire FW 400 interface. Windows will boot up in Boot Camp with the ProFire connected and powered on, and I have installed the latest driver from M-Audio. But when I launch the ProFire control panel, it reports that it cannot find a ProFire connected. I use the ProFire in the Mac OS side in Logic and ProTools, so the unit and connection are fine. I will also be contacting M-Audio to see if they know of this issue.
    TIA for any help.
    - Paul

hey i don't know if this helps but i have M-audio Firewire Audiophile...it seems that when you boot windows, if m-audio is "ON" it searches for the pc Bios... but maybe it's not possible on a mac...
first time i rebooted bootcamp i noticed that i could see the levels volume on the m-audio control panel but i didn't hear any audio from speakers....
    so what i did???
now every time i boot windows, m-audio first is OFF...then after completely booted, i turn it on...autosearching for its drivers, wait for 2 beeps from the speakers...then
AUDIO IS ALWAYS ON AFTER MANY HOURS... :-)TESTED [OK]
but i hope they solve this problem soon...
