Airport Extreme(n) loses contact with Express

After some trial-and-error, I got my Express to "join" my new wireless network being managed by the Extreme(n). I use the Express exclusively for printer sharing and iTunes streaming.
HOWEVER, I am experiencing a problem where my Express disappears from the network after a few days. It doesn't show up in the Admin utility, and the remote stereo doesn't show up in iTunes.
The only solution I've found is to reboot the Extreme(n) station. Anyone else experiencing this?

Well I have solve my problem for today, untill the next one tomorow by moving the base station closer to the Express.
I have found the performance of the new Extreme Station vastly inferior, in "G", mode to competitor's equipment such as Netgear Rangemax 240.
It seems that we all overestimate the range of this equipment thanks to our blind trust in Apple products, for this one divide your best gess by two.
Even as an Apple fanatic since the first Apple on the market, I am quite disapointed with issue.
In some ways, it recalls me of the darkest era of the MacPepsi OS 8.6.
Very sad and frustrating…

Airport Extreme intermittently loses connection with Internet?

I have an Airport Extreme connected to a router that is connected to our cable modem. Internet connection is fine, but the Airport Extreme will intermittently lose connection with the Internet and shows a solid amber light. Turning the Airport Extreme off and then on again will resolve the issue, however, this happens about once per week (at different days/times) and would like to ensure a consistent connection even when I'm not at home. (We are thinking of installing a lighting control system that depends upon a consistent wireless connection to work properly, even when we aren't home to restart the Airport Extreme). Please advise on what the trouble might be and how we can get a permanent resolution to the issue.

Is your Extreme an 802.11g (domed-shape) or 802.11n (squarish) model? Do you have the Extreme connected to the other router by Ethernet? Finally, is the Extreme configured as a bridge, i.e., Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)?

Extend Airport Extreme N (2nd gen) with Express g?

Seeing if there is any combo here that will work - I had to move my Extreme to the front of the house and want to extend my signal. I have two old Airport Express g (first gen I believe). They will let me configure via old Airport Utility to extend the network (setup asks if I'd like to extend the network, I say yes and I think it's just setting up Airtunes despite what the wizard looks like), and in the utilty it looks like everything is hunky dory but I suspect nothing is extended when I do the stand near it test. I tried to set up a WDS network, but the main base station generates errors when set up as main in the WDS following the docs (no other participants found error, although as the main it shouldn't need the others but whatever). Is there any combo of mixing the N Exteme and G Expresses that will work to extend the network? Or am I just out of luck unless I buy a new express?

The new AirPort Extreme needs the 6.x version of AirPort Utility, which comes packed in with Lion 10.7.5 or Mountain Lion 10.8.x......or......you can also configure the device using an iPhone or iPad running a recent iOS.
From Apple's Specifications:
Setup and Administration
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later and AirPort Utility 1.3
Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later and AirPort Utility 6.3
A few options.....
Borrow another Mac running Lion or Mountain Lion for 10-15 minutes and set it up. The Mac running 10.5.8 will be able to connect to the wireless....but it will not be able to make any changes to the configuration of the Extreme.
Update to Lion or Mountain Lion.....but check first to make sure that your Mac will support the operating system first.
Use....or borrow an iPhone or iPad to set up the Extreme

So, what is the actual problem here? You are now wondering if the Vonage can handle the speed from the modem? Is that the "problem" after all this discussion?

What speed is your Internet provider delivering to you?
The AirPort Express uses 100 Mbps Ethernet ports, so it will handle up to 100 Mbps. We have already told you that.
Vonage likely does the same. The answer is almost certainly "yes" .......both the Vonage and AirPort will handle the speed from the modem.
If you want to double check this, please provide the model number of the Vonage, and we will try to look up the specifications for the device. If you have documentation there with specifications for the Vonage device, check to see if the Ethernet ports are listed as 10/100. This is standard with almost all devices, with some of them handling even higher speeds 10/100/1000.
Chances are, your network will handle a lot more speed than your service provider is supplying to you. So, the "choke" point on your network may very well be your service provider and modem......not the Vonage and AirPort.

It's not Logic that can't find them, it's your Komplete apps, though if you did exaclty as you say I can see no reason why they can't.
Do you know where the apps installed them in the first place? I chose a non-standard locarion for mine, but I'm sure it installs sounds to your documents folder/native instruments/name of app.
Go into the prefs of each app and choose the library location button on the library tab and point it to the relevant folder in documents/native instruments and see if that works

I've encountered this error myself upon occasion. If I remember correctly, it was a permissions/ownership issue with the some of the files I was copying.

No, since there is no modem on board an AirPort Extreme, so you will need to use an outboard modem if you want the AirPort Extreme to have Internet access.

even if the battery says it is (half) full, usually it helps to replace the battery.
try just taking it out and then in again, might help temporarely.

Check out the articles below to troubleshoot your issues with getting a proper connection with Wi-FI. Try creating a new Network Location and join your network to see if you can get on that way.

Our airport extreme network works fine with our 6 devices. But when someone comes over and tries to log on, they can't until we restart the airport. Then they can get on, but it knocks one of our devices off the network. Any ideas?

I have not done a factory reset, I was trying to find out if I had some setting configured wrong first. I figured I'd just make things worse if went through a reset!

We need just a bit more information, please before we can begin to accurately troubleshoot this issue.
1) What is the make and model number of your modem?
2) What operating system are you using on the MacBook Pro at this time. Your tagline indicates that you are using OS X (10.4.8), but this is about 6-7 years out of date.
If you are no sure which operating system your Mac is using......click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen, then click About This Mac. Post back with the OS X Version number that you see there.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.
