Problem: I can't use ISPQ (videochat) with my ibookG4 or MacBookPro.
Details: iBookG4 [10.3.9] is the main one, MacBookPro [10.4.7] is the secondary one. I have a DSL modem attached to an Airport Extreme base.

I have run a diagnostic test on IsPq and this is the result:
Contacting server with HTTP protocol... success.
Connecting to diagnostic server... success.
Logging into diagnostic server... success.
Testing TCP port 2000 (VideoChat control)... failed.
Testing TCP port 2001 (VideoChat data)... failed.
Testing TCP port 2002 (Quick Message)... failed.
Results:

This computer appears to be behind a NAT firewall, it cannot receive incoming connections. It can still use iSpQ VideoChat, but it will not be able to initiate VideoChat connections and quick messages will be delivered through the server.
If you are using the MacOS X firewall, add an entry for iSpQ VideoChat to allow connections on ports 2000-2002. If you have a router on your network, make sure it is configured to properly route TCP ports 2000-2002 to your computer at 10.0.1.3. Otherwise, contact your network administrator for assistance.

Let me get this right. In my sharing options I have disabled firewall. So that bit is done. The next bit is about configuring my router, that is my dsl router (Castlenet AR250, I think).
My airport base has nothing to do with it, correct?

Oh right... All my devices are on the SAN and have been set as edit-in-place. The files in question were copied from the regular media watch folder to the media device. So basically just one folder on the SAN to another.
It has to be more than just the watcher, because two of the files in question were added by a subscription response that has worked fine for me before.

Airport Extreme no longer recognizes Ethernet port.

I have a fairly new Airport extreme, which up until a week ago was working great. For a week now it has, though the cable company and ISP have run checks on their equipment and given a clean bill of health, it will not see the cable modem or isp address. Cable works fine when ethernet cable is disconnected from airport and run direct into a computer, but nothing I can do seems to make it think that there is ethernet running to it. Any ideas what may be the cause of this? No equipment changes have been made and everything has been reset and troubleshot pretty extensively.

RCA DCM425 Digital Cable Modem from Time Warner Cable. I borrowed an Airport Express version 6.3 from my office to troubleshoot with last night and was unable to get it working either. Bridge mode or DHCP neither works on either unit. Everytime I change a setting on the Extreme or Express, or check network settings it resets the cable modem. Do I need a Turnaround Ethernet cable? Should I be using a router? It does not seem to help to set as bridge and plug ethernet into LAN port instead of WAN, so not sure if a router would get past the problem.

The problem is not the router.. the issue is the vpn has put your computer in a different IP range with a different gateway. When you turn off the vpn the computer returns to local lan and can print.
Some vpn software allows you to set gateway to use local net instead of remote gateway or access to other webistes or local lan.
Read up the issue.

I did not search much.. just grabbed the first article I could find that explains the issue.
The whole point of the vpn is whilst it is connected your computer is NOT part of the Local Lan .. it is part of the Remote LAN via the vpn tunnel.
It is also a security risk using split tunnelling so often it will not be allowed.
Plug the printer directly into the computer via usb or whatever.. Local connection will work.. not local lan.

Last question first, as we need to know what operating system that the Mac is using.
If you are not sure, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen, then click About This Mac, and post back with the OS X Version number that you see there.

It is very possible that you may have some form of Wi-Fi interference nearby that is preventing your AEBSn from providing a clean RF signal on the 2.4 GHz band.
I suggest you perform a simple site survey, using utilities like iStumbler, or AirRadar to determine potential areas of interference, and then, try to either eliminate or significantly reduce them where possible.

Yes:
Run the Keychain Access utility found in \Applications\Utilities
In the category column (on the left side of the utilities' window), select "All Items."
In the right column look for your Network Name. It will have a "Kind" of "AirPort network password."
Delete every entry that has both your Network Name with this Kind.
What can I do to test or reset?
You can completely erase all the base station's passwords by performing either a "hard" or "factory default" reset. You can also temporarily disable these passwords for up to five minutes so that you will have enough time to change them using the AirPort Utility, by just performing a "soft" reset. I would recommend this one first.
This would also be a good time to consider using WPA or WPA2, instead of WEP, as WEP is no longer considered secure.
I got the airport extreme based used with no softward and set up with reset on airport base and followed instructions.

I have an airport extreme with updated software(latest) and I setup an Ipad 3 on it with ios6(wirelessly). You can access the airport to update it with the utitlity app on an ios device, mac, or pc. I dont think it has anything to do with the airport software. Did you try rebooting the airport, then trying again?

Can anyone explain me what does it mean?

Well the message means that someone else is using this port/service.
Sometimes people who have wrappers built around a particular service
see that if they have already have an instance of the service running and
they try to stop/start the inetd daemon.

1) What is the make and model number of your modem?
2) What operating system are you using on the MacBook Pro at this time. Your tagline indicates that you are using OS X (10.4.8), but this is about 6-7 years out of date.
If you are no sure which operating system your Mac is using......click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen, then click About This Mac. Post back with the OS X Version number that you see there.

I have got exactly the same message after we re-configured our router. I was connecting using my iMac wirelessly before hand, but now cannot. Our other PCs can connect wirelessly to the router so it's not the router. I have also tried the firewall solution but that doesn't work either.
I did call Apple Support who said that a full troubleshoot would cost £35 as my computer is older than 90 days (well yes it's been working fine that's why it's over 90 days old, it's only now that it isn't!). He said a trouble shoot didn't guarantee success so I declined his offer to charge me an extortionate amount of money for nothing! He did say that the router needs to be giving the Airport an IP address, but it isn't doing it now. His only suggestion was to turn off the router and turn it back on or power down the iMac. Neither of which help.

Ipad will connect no problem to other networks.

First thing you need I think is to get your iMac connected to the Internet.
Shut down your iMac and you iPad. Then power off your router. Wait 30 seconds and power up the router.
After the router indicates that it is connected to the Internet then start up your iMac and see if it connects. If the iMac connects to the Internet then your iPad should too.
If this power up sequence doesn't work you'll have to dig into the router setup to make sure it is working properly.

Now every scenario is different when you're talking phone damages so it's best to set up a reservation with the Genius Bar if something happens and they'll assess the damage. Either way, as long as you're covered with AppleCare you'll receive a deductible price on parts. Certain instances you may not have to pay anything which are usually things like faulty software, faulty buttons, etc.

First man up and admit, that itunes does not suggest, but tells you that update is available and you made a
decision to download and update. Once you man up - think if you still under warranty. If that is not security
software according to the link provided, it is hardware. So second try another network, may be your network
has additional security or firewall. And third decide if it worth to you pay 149 for that phone or get it replaced.
