Airport Extreme refusing to accept more than 7 clients

Our airport extreme (7.2.1) used to be happy with at least 11 clients. Four people in our office now own iPhones. When all four iPhone owners are in the office, not only are they unable to connect to the airport extreme, but some Macs are also unable to connect. Our airport extreme refuses to accept more than 7 clients. The logs in AirPort Utility don't show anything related to client refusals. All but one of the Macs are on Tiger - the other is running Leopard.
Any thoughts appreciated.
Thanks
Paul

It is the extreme, my mistake in the previous post.

  • Can AirPort Extremes + Time Capsules handle more than 50 clients.?

    Our company has 54 computers, each setup for both Lan and wireless access. At present we use a Linksys router to provide IP address.
    With 1 Time Capsule and 1 Airport Exptreme - each with a max of 50 IP addresses (users). Does anyone know of a way to piggy back the 2 machines together in order to make a total of 100 IP addresses (users)???
    Is the 50 IP addresses limitation for LAN or wireless, or both.?

    i afraid running multiple OSs on single system at a time will put very high burden on my system, i am seeking to simulate the performance which will be very close to actual performance.

  • Dileama: Does my server accept more than one client

    i created a simple server and a client app. but i am unable resolve wether the server is going to accept more than single client. if not, then should i implement threads to accept more than one client on my server.

    i created a simple server and a client app. congrats!
    but i am unable resolve wether the server is going to accept
    more than single client. Not sure what you mean here.... Do you mean "Should I allow it to accept more than one client at a time?" If so, then that's up to you, isn't it?
    if not, then should i implement threads to accept more than
    one client on my server.If so, you mean. Yes, if you want multiple clients to connect, you have the server socket accept the socket connection from the client and pass that socket to a new thread which handles the connection, then the server socket would be free to accept another connection.
    I'm only familiar with the old I/O package, not the New I/O stuff, so this is a bit old school:
    ServerSocket ss = new ServerSocket(1234);
    while(true) {
       Socket s = ss.accept();
       newClient(s);
    private void newClient(final Socket s) {
       Thread t = new Thread() {
          public void run() {
             try {
                BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(s.getInputStream()));
                PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(s.getOutputStream()));
                out.println("yes?  what is it?");
                out.flush();
                String line;
                while((line = in.readLine()) != null) {
                   out.println("ha ha, you said '" + line + "'");
                   out.flush();
             } catch(Exception e) {
                try {
                   s.close();
                } catch(Exception e) {
       t.start();

  • In Query mode, date items does not accepts more than 10 characters..Why?

    Dear All,
    In my form, While querying my date items, it does not accepts more than 10 Characters. Could it be changeable.
    Actually i want to search like greater than specified date( >01/01/2007 ).
    But i can specify like >01/01/07. After tabbing out from that item, it displays like >01/01/200.
    How to overcome this issue.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Balaji

    You are absoletely correct Francois!
    Previously i have made a mistake that both of my maximum length and query length property to 20. That time it was not worked. Now i changed my maximum length to the old one like 11 and i changed only the query length to 20.
    Now it is working. I understood the concept wrongly.
    Thanks Francois!

  • How to resrict purchaser accept more than one RFx response ?

    hi all
      we use SRM 7.0 with standalone scenario.
      when the purchaser carry out Response comparison , system permit purchaser accept more than one bidder for one RFx item . the result is we want material A 10 piece, but supplier X and supplier Y get PO for 10 piece material A each.
       we want to restrct this operation, please give me some advices, thanks.
      regards
        claud

    You might want to try restricting at the PO creation time. Implement BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI for PO (BBP_PO_CHANGE method). In the logic, check the related proceeding RFx's item total quantity against its existing follow-on POs' item quantity. If adding the quantity of the current  PO exceeds the total RFx item quantity, throw an error to prevent the current PO from being created.

    Can some one help how to restrict the same.

    Hi
    How are U,
    PR while creating automatically from maintenance order w.r.t Frame work order, service quantity is not getting validated against actual available quantity in FO.
    i.e. it is accepting more than the quantity available in FO when the services are copied form FO.

  • Can a session EJB be accessed by more than one client?

    Hello,
    I would like to have an instance of a persistent EJB which is accessible by more than one client and which will not be destroyed after usage. Apparently session beans can only be accessed by one client and are created every time they are accessed. In my case this creation is quite time and resource consuming. Is it an alternative to use an entity bean instead, even if the logic of the bean doesn't have anything to do with direct database access?
    Thanks.

    It seems to me that what you want is exactly a session bean will do. The EJB container is responsible to maintain a certain number instances (configurable) of your session bean and serve multiple clients at the same time. Session beans are not necessarily destroyed after serving a client. If you configure your ejb server to have a pool size of 2 to 100, then you will always have at least 2 instances (no more than 100 even there are a lot of client access) of this ejb ready to serve. The only thing not clear to me is that do you want to use only ONE instance of this bean or you don't care as long as multiple clients can access this bean's service? Since you mentioned that there is not a real database access, you can certainly use a Singleton but a 'regular' session bean with static fields should do it also if these fields will not be modified by clients.

  • BI 7.0 more than 2 clients possible or not ?

    Dear support,
    I am basis person and i have installed BI 7.0 netweaver 2004s system , also business content 7.03 are done.I have given 001 client as BWMANDT field in RSADMINA table which is required for initial config. Now system is working fine for deveopers. Now i need to connect one more customer to this BI system.
    And i need to provide access to them using different client apart from 001.
    I wanted to know is it possible to work in more than one client in BW
    If yes :---- should i add one more entry in rsadmina table , will RSA1 will work in that client too.......
    Best Regards,
    AjitR

    Chetan,
    I have 001 client set as BWMANDT filed in rsadmina . when i am trying to create new client it is allowing me to add entry but not allowing me login .
    what could be the reason?
    secondly if i am able to do client copy from 001 to new client
    do i need to add this new client to rsadmina table along with 001
    as i need both clients working as BW client.

  • How to prevent executing more than one client from a machine?

    Hi all,
    Currently I am doing a client server project in java. The client is java swing. There is a requirement to prevent executing more than one client from a machine.
    Now I am relying on socket for this. I listen to a port, say 15000 and when the second session is started it would give an exception at the socket. I know that this a trivial method. Can anybody please suggest a better method. Also is it possible to bring focus to already executing client, if the user tries to execute the client program again in the same machine?
    An early answer to this question is highly appreaciated.
    Thanks in advance
    SSM

    Thanks for the suggestion, but I dont think we can use socket for this. And again if we use file for the same as you described, I think it would sometime create a some serious side effects. Suppose after one client session is invoked, the power goes off. In this case the client shut down is not in the normal sequence and hence we cannot remove the file programaticaly. This creates big problem when the user tries to run client again.
    I am really interested to know, is there any standard way in java which can be used to achieve this. Also is it possible to give focus to already executing client program if the user tries to invoke the client again.
    Thanks

  • No more than 10 client computers appear in WSUS 3.0 Admin Console

    Hi Folks,
    I installed WSUS 3.0 SP1 on our SBS 2003 R2 Premium server a few days ago. I've noticed that the WSUS admin console will never display more than 10 client computers at a time. In fact, I've got roughly 16 clients that get used daily.
    I've used the ClientDiag.exe tool to confirm that an invisible client actually does has connectivity to the WSUS server. Group policy settings have flowed through to the clients as well. When I took a quick look at WindowsUpdate.log, it seemed to confirm connectivity to the WSUS server as well. If I run: wuauclt.exe /resetauthorization /detectnow on an invisible client, the client will then show up in the admin console, but at the same time, a previously displayed client will disappear from view. 10 clients seems to be the upper limit for admin console viewing.
    Where should I be looking? Thanks, Derek.

    This is a classic symptom of duplicated SusClientIDs caused by cloning an image with an already present SusClientID.
    Delete the SusClientID registry value from the registry key
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate
    on EVERY PC
    and reboot (or restart the Automatic Updates service)
    and THEN run wuauclt /resetauthorization /detectnow
    which will force the WUA to generate a new (unique) SusClientID and reregister with the WSUS Server.

  • Problem connecting more than 2 clients to Airport Extreme

    I have a first-generation airport extreme base station set up with WPA2 personal password and a MacBook, MacBook Pro, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. I have been able to get them all connected to the network but never at the same time. The most I have been able to connect at once are 2 clients, most of them time it's the MacBook and the Xbox. If i want to connect any of the others I have to restart the Airport and the modem and still I am only able to have 2 connected at once.
    When i use the MacBook pro, the Airport menu bar icon shows I am connected but it doesn't actually load anything, and the browser status bar hangs on "looking for…".
    Anyone experience this? If you want to know any other network settings please ask and I will do my best to track them down. My ISP (Road Runner/Time Warner) claims its an Airport issue.
    thanks in advance.

    It could be that the Airport Extreme is configured with a range of only two IP addresses. I had my Time Capsule configured with only one IP address, and my iPhone would show that it "found" the wireless network but it didn't show an IP address so it fell back to using the cellular data network.
    If this is the problem and if you are using the AEBS as a firewall (NAT enabled), then this should be easy to fix by increasing the range of IP addresses issued by the DHCP function. If you are not using it as a firewall and are just distributing a range of addresses issued by your ISP (very unlikely), then you would need to get a larger address range from your ISP, or set up the AEBS as a firewall to share one IP address.

  • Airport disconnects when there's more than one device

    I've got a really weird problem.. I have an Apple Airport Extreme 802.11n 3rd Generation. Software version 7.6 When more than one device connecrts to the base station it will disconnect everyone and then all devices will go into a connect/disconnect loops. Rapidly. This occurs only with wireless device. I watched the radar on my iPhone (5.1), Macbook running Snow Leopard, Macbook Air running Lion, and iPad 2 (5.1) blinking on and off, on and off. The only way to resolve this is to just have ONE person connect at a time.
    Things I've tried:
    1) Updating all software on all devices
    2) Updating Airport firmware
    3) Reboot and then restoring factory settings on the Airport when the reboot didn't work
    4) Turning off encryption (WP2)
    5) Making sure there are enough IP's for all the devices, turning off robustness, making sure the router is visible.
    Because I know someone will ask this: The Airport sits atop a credenza in the open air. Nothing on, around, or above it. It's been in this position for months with no problem. It's not overly warm to the touch and I even used compressed air to blow out the vents (just in case) when this problem began.
    I read once upon a time that the router gets a cache built up and that can cause these types of issues, but I have no idea how to delete said cache or even if it exists. It's just odd this only happens when more than one wireless device tried to connect to the network.
    Thoughts?

    I've resolved this! For some odd reason Apple won't let me denote this so I'm adding this reply. Turns out the problem was POWER related. The Airport was plugged into a power strip with several other devices. I unplugged all of those leaving just the Airport and the problem has not returned. If I add on all the devices, regardless of the power strip used, the problem returns. So it appears the Airport was just not getting enough power.
    I've got it on a UPS now and the problem has not returned.

  • Current model Airport Extreme no longer accepting DHCP WAN assignment

    I woke up to my airport extreme not connecting to my ISP.
    I'm using DHCP on the WAN side, and my Airport can no longer retrieve a DHCP address.  It appears the Airport does find the ISP's router address (the router address and subnet mask are populated), and my ISP sees the DHCP request.  However, my Airport will not accept the DHCP response and assign the address.  (My Internet connection is over a fiber line and I use a "portal" for access.  As such the ISP can see any and all packets for troubleshooting.)
    I purchased my Airport new in November, 2011.
    If I connect my Macbook Pro directly to the portal, I get a new address off the ISP.
    My ISP then created a DHCP reservation.  Still no luck.  I then tried assigning a static address.  That works as well.
    So it seems my router is not accepting the DCHP response or assigning the address.  My ISP uses DHCP3 on Linux.
    Any ideas?

    So it seems my router is not accepting the DCHP response or assigning the address.  My ISP uses DHCP3 on Linux.
    I'm not aware of any incompatibilities with version 3 of the DHCP service that would cause your AirPort not to accept an IP address from your ISP ... although anything is possible. Is this something that your ISP has just updated their DHCP services to or has this been their configuration for a while?
