Airport Extreme & Samsung SMART 3D TV UE46ES8080

Hey Guys!
I have a Samsung 3D LED TV (UE46ES8080) and i tried to connect it to my Aiport Extreme. Unfortunately, that didn't work.
Is there anybody that can help?
Thanks!

Ok, how about some more details on both your AirPort and the wireless capability of your TV:
Which generation is your AirPort Extreme?
What Radio Mode is it configured for ... Automatic, 802.11n, etc.?
What Radio Channel is it configured for ... Automatic, 1-11, etc.?
For the TV, is the wireless adapter built-in or an external USB device?
If external, it this provided by Samsung or another vendor? If the latter, which vendor?

  • How can I connect an External Hard Drive plugged in an Airport Extreme to my Samsung Smart TV?

    Hi..
I have an Airport Extreme and an external hard drive in its USB... I could connect it to both my Windows and Mac computers, but I couldn't connect to my Samsung Smart TV... Does anybody know how to do that ?
    Thanks,
    Felipe

Did you have any luck with this? I have the same issue... my Samsung TV used to connect fine with USB drives connected to other routers, but since I upgraded to Airport Extreme, the TV no longer sees any external drives, although WiFi is working great via Airport Extreme.

  • Setting up my Airport Extreme to my Samsung series 8000 network

I am having difficulty setting up my network using my airport Extreme to my new Samsung 8000 LED. I have tried many settings and the Samsung does not recognize any of them. It will not find the network in the "auto mode", and I'm not sure what to out into the manual setting if I switch to the manual mode on the LED. It ask for the following; IP address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, and then under the title DNS, it ask for the DNS Server information. Where do I locate all of this and what do you think might be wrong? I appreciate any help anyone can offer at this time. Thanks

    Alex,
I got it working! Try this exactly like this, it's a bit of a pain but it should fix the problem. The problem appears to be with Samsung's firmware which needs to be updated first before any wireless or wired configuration will work.
    - Hard wire the television with an ethernet cable (in front of the apple router) i.e. directly to your modem.
    - Once your hard wired. In the TV's menu go to network and choose AUTO configuration. I connected to the internet at this point. To check perform the 'Network test' through the TV's menu. This was the first time that I was successful in getting passed that pesky 'Gateway Ping' test, that always failed in all previous attempts.
-Now that your connected to the internet go to the the last TV menu item, which is 'support' and select 'software upgrade'. Choose 'by online' and perform the update.
-Now reconnect your Apple router in-line (restarting everything is not a bad idea at this point) the way you had everything before and you should be able to connect wirelessly and wired (out of one of the LAN ports) of the Apple router.
Even though the wireless option worked when I had the TV in the same room as the Apple router. The signal wasn't strong enough for the USB Samsung Wireless Adapter at the location that the TV is going to live permanently. So I went to the trouble of snaking a CAT 5 wire from the router through the basement and up into the wall where the TV is mounted.
Samsung tech support is completely useless, so don't even waste your time trying to get through!
Good luck I hope this works!
Let us know how you make out.

  • Connecting iTunes to Samsung smart TV using airport express.

Does anyone have any experience of connecting airport express to a Samsung smart TV to use as powered speakers?  I have connected using a standard convertor cable from 3.5mm jack to dual connections but this is not showing up on the TV 'Source'.  Samsung support have not been very helpful but I dont think I'm trying to do anything ground-breaking?!  This worked perfectly well on the previous TV.
If this is a no-go - has anyone managed to stream iTunes onto the TV using the wireless network?
Any help/hints/warnings would be greatly appreciated.

My TV has RCA-type analog inputs but for some reason they do not recognise the input from the Airport Express.  The music is streaming ok because if I connect headphones to the port on the airport I can get music playing.
I'm loathe to buy Apple TV to do what the Airport Express should do for me - however, I might end up down that route.  Can I play all content from my iMac - even music which was loaded from CDs onto the machine rather than purchased through iTunes.  I really dont want to have to pay £25 a year to mirror content I've already purchased in iCloud so that I can play it in my own house.
    Thanks for the advice.

  • AirPort Extreme and Verizon's Samsung 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot SCHLC11

Has anyone had any success using Verizon's Samsung 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot SCHLC11 with their Airaport Extreme?
My home network consists of two AirPort Extremes, an iMac, two AppleTV2s, an iPad, an iphone4 and a Canon Printer.
The problem is that I just moved to a rural area where there is no cable or DSL Internet provider.  Satellite is available but is too slow and too expensive.  My best option is Verizon's 4G LTE.
So the question is this: Is it possible to wirelessly connect my AirPort Extremes to the wireless Internet signal from the Samsung Mobile Hotspot (WiFi out only) so that my home network has access to the Internet?

I know its a little late but to answer your question "has anyone had any success using this Verizon Samsung 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot as their primary home WiFi router?"
Yes with a Cradlepoint router. I use the MBR1100 which allows me to use mutiple air cards, or the MBR900 for use of just one card. Once that is set up you can use your Airport Express to extend the network as you need.
    Hope this helps

I've been trying to configure an LG smart TV upgrader to work with my airport extreme.  In the LG setup screen it asks for IP Adress, Subnet mask and  gateway. DNS Server: Primart and Secondary.  I would appreciate any help.   Thanks C

Go to: System Preferences>Network>Advanced>TCP/IP, the IP address, Subnet and Gateway (router) are all here
Then go to the DNS tab, the DNS server addresses will be found here.

  • Query regarding set up of Airport Extreme with Huawei Smart Ax 882

    Hello ,
I have an ADSL Modem Huawei SMART AX MT882  and Apple Extreme Base Station (5th Generation)
I would like to set up and configure this combination so that I get both Wired and Wireless connection at home to use a PC, a MacBook pro and other ios devices like iphone, ipad etc.
    My query is as follows:
Which one to configure – Huawei Smart Ax MT 882 or Apple Extreme and how?
Can I use the Huawei SmartAx 882 as purely a modem and AEBS as a router? If yes, please advise configuration procedure.
    Thanks ,
    Souban

wmskaggs, Welcome to the discussion area!
They recommended setting up a new wireless network with the 2nd Airport Express by "fooling" into thinking it was connected directly to the router but using the same network name with a different wireless channel as my Airport Extreme base station.
That will work with as long as the AirPort Express (AX) is connected via Ethernet. The only other setting you need to make is to configure it to act as a bridge (not sharing a single IP address).
If this one looses connection, then something is wrong with the AX or the Ethernet connection (cable and/or connectors).

  • Anyone connected a Samsung BD-C6500 blu ray to Airport Extreme?

    Hi all
I have reached the end of my rope trying to this to work.
I have gotten the blu ray to see the network, and get to gateway ping - but then nothing.
I read that the apple extreme password is not quite up to snuff so I increased the length of the password - and it got further but no connection to internet.
So I tried it with no security and that does not work at all.
So - any ideas to get these two to get along?
    thank you
    Sean

I am on my second Samsung BD-C6500 and still not successful or happy. Especially with the password entering process you describe. How ancient is Samsung's interface? Replacing the entered letter with a * immediately after entry is maddening enough. But when entering numbers, the actual number never does show on-screen. Samsung customer service is a joke. The "techs" are not knowledgeable, don't speak English well or clearly and don't seem to give a crap whether or not the problem get resolved. Even getting "moved up" to second-level tech support was no better. Plus in the two weeks I've owned the two units I've had to download three software updates (now using 1013.4)--when I could get connected, that is!!! I was hopeful that one of these updates would fix the connection problem but that apparently was wishful thinking.
My first Samsunge would not retain my password--and that was after a dozen or more attempts to connect wirelessly with my Airport Extreme over a five-day period. So I took it back to Best Buy. The second unit is not much better. I can connected successfully, watch a movie on Netflix then turn everything off. Next day, when I try to connect, it says I don't have an internet connection.
Apple tech support suggested I change the Airport options on RADIO MODE from "Automatic" to "802.11 a/n - 802.11. b/g". That temporarily solved the problem but still does not ensure the Blu-Ray player will connect the next time I want internet access. It still seems to be hit or miss.
When this connection works, it's a joy. Especially when using Netflix to watch movies instantly. But my wife is slowly losing her patience with my frustrations and is willing to pay Comcast $6 or so to watch one of their movies instead. Their connection may be simpler but the search process is from an earlier decade!
I would appreciate any other suggestions you have. Thanks!

  • My Printer (samsung clx-3185fw) says it connects to my network but I can't seem to print wirelessly.  I could with my netgear but not with my airport extreme, any ideas?

My Printer (samsung clx-3185fw) says it connects to my network but I can't seem to print wirelessly.  I could with my netgear but not with my airport extreme, any ideas?
I have restarted all units, disconnected and reconnected

    Hi ryanfromstockbridge,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on exactly what you are seeing when you try to add the printer or print to the printer. If you continue to have issues printing to this wireless printer, you may find the information and troubleshooting steps outlined in the following articles helpful:

  • Airport Extreme: Printer (Samsung CLP-500) Problem

Sometimes my Airport Extreme doesn't find my USB-printer (a samsung clp500 laserprinter) anymore. The only way to solve this problem is to restart the airport. I have already installed the latest firmware of the airport but this didn't help. This happens at random.
Are there people who have had the same problem? And does anyone know a solution for this problem?

Yes, it turns to sleep. But thats not the cause, already tried it.
Could it be that when you connect the printer you cannot turn it off? Because the problem only occurs when i have turned off the printer and turn it back on. In 2/10 cases this will hapen.
So when I let my printer on and let him sleep the problem doesn't happen.

    Bonjour,
    Cordialement

  • Unable to connect hp photo smart 4780 to new airport extreme?

Just purchased airport extreme.  Have an HP Photo Smart C4780 and can not get it to link with extreme or MacBook
Pro laptop.  Can anyone help me??

Unfortunately, not all USB printers are compatible with AirPort base stations. In addition, the  AirPort's USB port does not support the "advanced" printer functions, like scanning, copying or faxing, of multi-function printers.
To see if your printer is compatible, take a look at thisiFelix Unofficial AirPort Printer Compatibility link. If your printer isn't listed, it doesn't necessarily mean it won't work, but simply that it has not been verified. iFelix also provides the following workaround for printers not on the list that would certainly be worth a try.
Also you can try this Apple Tech Support article to see if it will help: Printer troubleshooting for AirPort Base Stations and Time Capsule
Finally, check out this IBM support article to see if your printer is listed as having a Postscript or PCL3 interface. If it does, then it will most likely work with the AirPort's USB port. Printers that use the "HP LIDIL" interface must be connected to a computer directly and will not work.

  • Samsung Blu-Ray player, Airport Extreme network, and streaming Netflix

I am very frustrated. Can you help? My husband just purchased a Samsung Blu-Ray BD-P3600 player and TV. I have read all of the forums on trying to connect this to an Airport Extreme network. After several days of trying different options, I still can not get the Blu-Ray player to connect to my network and be able to stream Netflix. The only way that I have gotten close is through the wireless connection devise and putting in the IP address etc. When doing a network test, if checks the MAC Address and the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, DNS Server. It then pauses for a long time and tells me that the Gateway Ping won't work. It says, "Your network cannot operate properly." I have not had any trouble connecting any computers or printers to the network. Why can I not get this to work? Please tell me what I am doing wrong. I know just enough to be dangerous. Thank you!

Hi - I found this on CNET but not a techie so not sure if this will work - I have Airport Extreme & just bought 2 Samsung Blu-Ray BD-P3600 players to use w/NetFlix and have called Samsung tech support 3 times w/no luck - the last time the technician said that Apple/Samsung WIFI not compatible - I have a 13 character pswd so that my roommate who has a PC can connect - we don't have any problems with any other connections to Airport Extreme -
Post today from CNET discussion on same topic:

found this about setting up a psp with airport should help:
"Apple does not mandate that your WEP password is the correct length. In the real world of WEP (non Apple devices) they actually require that your WEP key is a specified length dependent on the bit level of encryption. If you are using HEX or ASCII encoding these passwords can get as high as 26 to 40 characters long. Yea, thats a long pass code! Your Mac sitting in your house doesn't care about all that mumbo jumbo. You can put any old password in the AirPort Admin utility and it will take it.
I learned over at Gaming-Age that I could get away with a 13 character WEP Key. You should, however, stick with 128 bit WEP as this is better protection, and works well with the PSP (I run my AirPort Express in 802.11b/g Compatible Mode). Once you set your WEP key and update your AirPort you can setup your PSP. Now just setup your PSP for Wi-Fi Infrastructure mode"
    and this:
The trick is that to use the hexadecimal key with an Apple AirPort Card, you must enter a dollar-sign before the hex number, like
    $1E2B3C4FAA

  • Samsung ml-2010 printer + Airport Extreme

I recently purchased an Airport Extreme and networked my samsung ML-2010 laser printer and a external hard drive. I have a usb hub (usb powered) connected to the AE. If i, for some reason, unplug the printer, change the toner, or turn it off then on later, the Airport will not automatically recognize it again. I have to shut off the Airport and turn it back on with the printer ON and connected for it to recognize it again. Is there any update, or fix, that would allow the Airport extreme to recognize the printer as plug and play???
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Nobody can give me some help? I want to make sure that the printer works before buying the Airport Extreme... :P

  • Smart folder not searching external HDD connected to Airport Extreme

I have bunch of movie files (mp4 format) on external HDD connected to the new Airport Extreme station. When I create a smart folder on either one of the machines on my local network, the smart folder would not search at all through the HDD connected to the Airport Extreme.
I have another HDD connected directly to my PowerMacG5Quad and smart folders successfuly searches through that drive.
However, when I ask for any type of search (i.e. any kind of files) located on a networked external HDD, smart folders acts is if the networked drive is not even there.
Obviously, my purpose here is to have the difference machines access (RSS style) all the movies files located on the networked HDD.
Is it some permission in Airport Extreme?

    Does this help?
